I had an issue where all audio was accompanied by a clicking sound and audio with videos would gradually become more and more out of sync. I updated all drivers, used multiple different output devices with different cables etc, I ran system file checker and refreshed windows. Today, I noticed that when I got a MalwareBytes notification (I have only had malwarebytes for about 2 weeks, the same length of time I've had the issue) that my audio severly slowed down along with mouse movements. I immediately uninstalled malwarebytes and everything is back to normal. No audio clicking, popping or delays. I don't require any help, the purpose of this post is to serve as a reference for anyone who google a similar issue.

I'm really struggling to fix my audio desync issue, I've been trying for days... (List of stuff I've tried below) The Problem: Audio Desync Whenever i watch anything, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, after about a minute of watching it begins to desync like a badly dubbed film, and it gets worse and worse, refreshing fixes it for another minute until it starts again, its impossible for me to watch or enjoy anything, and it really sucks, especially during lock down (sorry for my excessive use of ,commas, I'm asthmatic) Stuff I've tried - Different browsers (Edge, Opera, Chrome) DIDN'T WORK - Different Drivers (Old drivers, new drivers, windows generic drivers) (Even Graphics Drivers!!) DIDN'T WORK - Different Cables DIDN'T WORK - Changed setting in chrome like 'Hardware acceleration' DIDN'T WORK - Fresh Install of windows DIDN'T WORK - Different settings in windows (Stuff like Bitrate and the 'Hz') DIDN'T WORK - Different speakers (More on that below) I've tried so much stuff and nothing has worked... Now about the different speakers, i've tried loads of different speakers and they all have the same issues, expect from my monitors inbuilt speaker (But its trash) and my monitor sound is controlled by 'NVIDIA High Definition Audio', where as the others are 'Realtek(R)' , so that would leave you to believe its something to do with Realtek but I've tried a bunch of different drivers and settings on that front and nothing works. So I'm just really stumped at what the issue is and its driving me crazy, if anyone can help me with this i would be eternally grateful, I've head this forum is super helpful so my hopes are high. hi I have a problem with my monitors and playing videos. I just added a new monitor to my setup. but.... When I start a video the audio and video will be in sync but slowly over time the video wil start to lag behind the audio. This happens both in online and local playback. My setup is: 1 dell monitor displayport 1 smal tv hdmi [new] 1 dell monitor DVI-D <-- this one started the problem. PC: I7 6700K GTX 1080 Any ideas?

I'm not quite sure what could have caused this to start happening, but as of late, my audio and video has been desyncing across my PC (in both browser players like YouTube and Netflix, and in media players such as VLC). After a fresh restart, my PC is unaffected for nearly 12 hours. However, afterwards, I will slowly start to notice the audio coming before the video. The desync only gets worse and worse as time goes on, even getting to a 7 second difference if left long enough. Refreshing the page and switching audio outputs are two very temporary solutions I have found, but it only fixes the problem for a few minutes. I've also noticed that Geforce Experience will no longer open (error 0x00001), but I don't know if that's related. I have been out of my mind trying to find a solution for this, so finally I decided to make a thread. Hopefully I can get this figured out soon with some help.

When I play video games on my primary, 144 hz monitor, I like to also watch a TV show on Netflix, or a YouTube video. The longer I get into a game, the more and more I notice the video and audio of my TV show coming out of sync. The video is often choppy/laggy, and eventually grows slower and slower while the audio maintains the same speed. Some specifics: My Relevant PC Info: - i5-6600 - GTX 1060 GB - 16 GB of RAM Games I've Noticed it On: - Hitman - PC Building Simulator - Madden 19 - FIFA 18 Things I've Done to Try and Fix it: - Downloaded the Netflix Windows Store App - Prioritized Chrome in Task Manager (Thinking it was a resources issue) Any ideas/suggestions?

I've been having this problem for years now and anything I think to look for answers I can't find any. In any game that has prerendered cutscenes such as Final Fantasy 14 or Monster Hunter World the audio will be fine at the beginning but will quickly become desync'd even when running at a steady 60 frames. The video doesn't seem to lag or stutter in any noticeable way and the audio isn't distorted or laggy. No matter what settings I choose, it doesn't help it. I keep my drivers up to date. Windows10 Pro (though it did the same in windows7) Intel Core i7 2700K @ 3.50GHz 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz (10-10-10-27) ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (previously a gtx570 and gtx780, same thing happened) ASUS Xonar Pheobus (sound card) Kingston ssd boot drive with 2 WD black storage drives

For some time now the audio in my system precedes the video by about 100-200 millisecs. The issue persists whether I'm using speakers, headphones (both 3.5 mm jacks) or the speakers within my monitor (LG 24mp88hv - HDMI). Also it doesn't matter if I'm playing local files or streaming online or gaming. I used to be able to not notice this but lately it's become extremely annoying. Has this happened to anyone else ?

This seems to be a pretty common issue with the Realtek drivers and it seems like too big of an issue to have not been fixed yet but what can I say? When I start playing a video, the video gradually loses pace and somehow falls behind the audio. At first I thought it was just a browser issue but it seemed to happen even on VLC. So I did a lot of tweaking and uninstalling and reinstalling and I think I've finally done it. But it comes at a cost. I do not know if ALL of these steps are required but they're easy so I suggest following them. First off, turn OFF Hardware Acceleration in your Sound Device settings. Then you want to make sure your browser settings have Hardware Acceleration OFF Ofc then you want to try the universally recommended "Uninstall and Reinstall" . This probably will not fix it though lmao. I also disabled the High Precision Event Timer in Device Managers. Instructions : here Here comes the catch. You need to have your CPU running at full capabilities constantly. So I have my thermal mode on automatic and then I made sure I was either on High Performance power mode or Ultimate Performance power mode. And just to make sure, click on change plan settings next to "High Performance" and then click on "Change advanced power settings". This will open a box that lets you customise your power settings but the one you want to focus on is Process power management. Here you can change the min processor state to 100%. This obviously means that your processor might warm up a little but this IS the default setting for high performance mode so it will probably not do any harm to your system. If you do notice a huge increase in temperatures, you might have to change the setting to a lower amount or just stick to balanced until there is a proper fix for this. Your device might automatically switch these settings so anytime you encounter the issue, just follow these steps and you should be good. I really really hope this fixed it for you because it can be a real pain. I also rolled back to Win vers 1903 but I don't know if this factors in. Please comment letting me know if it did the job. There are also pictures attached for reference.

This issue started recently, I don't really remember what day but probably within the last 3 or so and it happens in both firefox and chrome. After about 10 minutes of streaming a video audio begins to desync and it gets worse and worse as it plays, the issue is fixed by refreshing the page but it still drives me crazy so I'm looking for a real solution. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

I now remembered why I stopped using Chrome on my PC some time ago. When I watch videos, for 1-2 minutes it's fine, but then the audio and video desync more and more from eachother. I read about this issue and the fix was to disable one of the shockwave plugins. I did it but it still desyncs. I have this problem only on this Win 8.1 PC, but not on my laptop (also running Win 8.1 , both 64bit ) If I pause the video for 1-2min, it syncs up again and then it f***s up again
