This is big budget; I have never splurged like this before in my life... so I don't have the budget to make a big mistake. Budget 3500$ - 9000$ 40 000 NOK - 100 000NOK: Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Modern games with max fidelity-settings, workstation programs (Fution360, Unreal 5, blender, ai/procedural networks/genetic algorithms). When I get VR-glasses I would play Rumble and Minecraft ray-traced. Other details: I use 6 monitors and have gotten dependent on that. I have peripherals and will be using the system for 50+ hours a week. Due to stability issues in my old system I am a bit paranoid for stability. 3440x1440 175hz main monitor + 5x 1920x1080 (I would desire my 99% fps to be over 200fps). No peripherals needed, I have no system; I have a single 1TB SDD. I am fairly sure I need a 4090, so I intend use the 4090 ¿only? for my main monitor, and supplement my other monitors with an arch GPU and perhaps a second hand GPU? So I don't know if a second system to go with the main is a good or better option; given my budget. Intel Arc for encode? I heard it is a good value proposition. I just noticed a weird dot on my desktop. its like a white dot with black in centre. If i put my cursor on top of it, it disappears or is most likely below my cursor. opening apps like chrome or other games get rid of this dot. i use wallpaper engine and i have tried changing to other wallpapers, the dot persists. i have tried disabling wallpaper engine and using window’s default wallpaper, its still there. is it a dead pixel? or a hot pixel?

I'm currently student so most of the week 5/7 days (- holidays) i spent in different city. I do have tablet (samsung tab s9+) so I DON'T NEED LAPTOP. If i have some free time i can play some games on my steam deck but it is a bit too little powerful. Playing some indie games is ok but steamdeck's 60hz screen isnt the best one, more demanding titles i have to sacrifice graphic settings, booting to windows and trying to do some editing in adobe programs also isn't perfect experience due to lack of performance. There are things that i love about steamdeck i can just plug it into tv get a few dualsence controllers and my and my friends can have gaming party on TV. Getting to the point The performance of Msi Claw posistively suprised me also the screen despite not being oled looked more than enough. My 1st thought was to sell my steamdeck add a bit of money and buy oled one but it wouldn't really change performance. My 2nd idea is to sell steamdeck, most of pc (motherboard, ram,cpu, cooling, maybe power supply... ) and buy Msi Claw (or a different handheld), GPU enclosure for my 2080Ti. Looking at benchmarks Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 processor 155H (msi claw) performs a bit better than my I9-9900k. I have some conserns about that: - how good would eGPU accualy run - would i be able to connect: mouse, keyboard, microphone (mini jack), speakers (optical port), discs (at least some of them) and probably from time to time some usb stick, or different accessories ^without affecting eGPU performance - on 1st sight msi software seems middling - I'm into Playstation button layout, steamdecks is ok, msi claw/xbox/asus rog have less comfortable one but maybe it is just something to get used to PS: my tablet has amazing screen and i found an app called superdisplay that allowes me to make it act as a display with pretty good results - full res 120hz, touchscreen works, Samsung pen's pressure sensivity works...... but it has 3 disadvantages - 1 no hdr support, works only with windows, it uses quite a lot of processing power. What do you think about my upgrade idea? Which handheld would fit my needs the best? What GPU enclosure do you recomend? ^ could i buy used one or not really? What are your experience with running handhelds+eGPU for a longer time? Maybe it is better to save some money for steamdeck upgrade and leave pc as it is for now? Any ideas how to improve my idea? Hello, I've been having internet connectivity issues with my main pc (amd cpu, windows 10) for a while now and I cannot figure out why. Thought it was the WiFi card (Archer TXE72E), but when testing on separate desktop (intel cpu, windows 11) the card performed significantly better than my main. For example, I have a wpa3 WiFi connection that my main pc cannot connect to when using the WiFi card, but my second pc can with 0 issue when using the same WiFi card. Usually when the main pc tries to connect to the wpa3 connection it will either connect and have no access to the internet, or the WiFi on my pc will seemingly restart. I think it is specifically the main pc itself as I bought the Archer TXE72E to replace the previous TP Link WiFi card it was using because I was having the same issues with that one. If anyone has any advice on this that would be appreciated!

I have a laptop with a desktop i9-10900k and an mxm 2080super but the laptop needs a new motherboard which is at least 400$ not including any labor costs or other costs if I had somone replace it, but idk if I should try to sell the laptop or the components to try to save money for a pc but I'm not sure how I would go about that, just looking for recommendations on what I should do

I'm creating a parts list for my first PC build, and thought I'd post it here for any recommendations. Budget (including currency): 1300$ USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games: Primarily Minecraft & EVE Online, with some War Thunder, World of Tanks, World of Warships, & World of Warplanes Other: Programming on Arduino platform & a few others, animating/rendering things in Blender, & general web browsing Other details: My current Micro Center Parts List, I'm not upgrading from anything. The only needed peripheral currently is a monitor, but if the motherboard doesn't have Bluetooth, I'd have to get a Bluetooth dongle or something similar. At first, I'd be playing at 1080p to save money on the monitor, but would later upgrade to 1440p. Refresh rate doesn't matter a ton since I wouldn't be playing competitively, but I'd like the monitor to be at least 100hz. At some point after the swap to 1440p, I'd probably get a second monitor. I'll probably be buying the PC sometime around midsummer this year, but it could be later during the fall. I also want the PC to be AM5, for future proofing.

I boot sometimes and I cant see my desktop Icons, I have a clean pc so my garbage and main folder are just gone when I go use my PC. Everything else works fine, taskbar, mouse, windows opening, I just cant click or drag stuff on it as if it were a void LOL Help please Windows 10

I FIGURED IT OUT!!! I have been dealing with this for over 9 months with a BRAND NEW system I built following all of Linus Tech Tips videos. The system would just randomly crash from loading a game, all the way to being in the middle of a game and it crashes. I wasn't even playing graphically intensive games either! I had heard that it could be GPU, CPU, Motherboard, PSU, ... etc. I double checked everything in my PC... and I mean everything. I was 100% sure the GPU was fried and it was too late to return it. I had to swallow the pill of buying a new card in the middle of this bitcoin crap at the super high prices! It was about 2am my time and I was going to order the new card the next day when I decided to look for a fix. One. Last. Time. I found a very old thread, link below, that a guy was having the same issues. He did the exact same things I did and then some. He finally resorted to pulling the graphics card and taking apart and looking at it to see if there was anything noticeable. That's where the problem was!!!! The CHEAP way some of these cards are made, was causing this issue. More specifically, there was little to no thermal compound on the actual GPU, it was all on the board on the side of it. He cleaned it off, put it back together, and ..... Viola!! It ran fine! I did the same thing, also with the help of some of Linus' videos, and it fixed mine as well!! Just to note I'm running a Red Devil Radeon RX 480, so this is not a cheap card but also not a super high end card either. Hope this helps somebody save a little bit of money and not throw out their card when its just poor assembly. I have a MiniPC, 11 Pro but with only USB output for sound. I want to buy a High Resolution external DAC/AMP for my desktop MiniPC but also want this device to be able to connect to a pr of desktop computer speakers (With builtin amplifier) so I can use when not using my headphones. The device I mentioned in my heading ( SMSL DL200 ES9039Q2M Audio DAC ) has a left RCA output jack and a right RCA output. Can those jacks be used to attach to the inputs of a pr of speakers (Example = Edifier R1280DB Powered Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers) to be used on my desktop? Hope someone can help! David N.

I have a Seagate Mobile HDD 1TB that stopped working suddenly. I mainly used the hard drive as a portable disk drive via an enclosure. The issue is when I connect it in through the USB port it just rings a tone as proof of connection to the PC. The enclosure lights up with the vibration of spinning the drive as usual disk drives do. But it does not appear on the "This PC" folder as the other disk drives do. However, it shows in the Disk Management as unknown, not initialized, and unallocated drive. I have watched several YouTube videos to fix it but not worked. I also tried by AOMEI Partition Assistant to Rebuild the MBR, and format the drive but did not work. I have added several photos of the states and the process of fixes carried out for the disk drive herewith. Is it possible to fix the drive? Any help and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Hello everyone, I have a bench with a core i5 13400 and a Rtx 3070 with a 850w PSU my problem is that the computer crashes( or at least restart by his own like if we pressed the reset button) it happens most of the time on game like war thunder, world of warship and far cry ( I’m surprise by the two first one but not by the last).Something interesting too it doesn’t crash with RDR2 in full and the temperatures don’t rise above 55°C even on load (stress tests have been made). So why does it crash/reboot? A mobo issue ? A PSU one or GPU? I’m lost I never seen that kind of issue before. Thanks for helping

I accidentally found that my monitor can detect its orietation. I am using a Samsung S24h85x, I tried to read through the user manual but this feature is not mentioned in it. No metal or sensor found in the stand, my guess is the monitor does have a built-in sensor or something. Hello I recently built myself a new computer. It has been working mostly great, but it randomly turns off. It is not a crash or a blue screen, it is, as if someone pulls the plug. Basically, it suddenly goes dark, and then restarts on its own. When looking at crash logs, there aren't any. The computer is running normally until it suddenly just turns off. It of course has a few errors when starting, mainly related to some filesystem issues duo to the non proper shutdown. The one thing is: The shutdowns are truly random. I have run multiple stress tests and benchmarks just fine. Sometimes it shuts down under heavy use, but its mostly just when I am doing some light web browsing or even just when its idling. Like I start the computer, open my web browser, discord, telegram, then I leave the room to get a drink and when I return it has restarted. The shutdowns now happen every few days. When I originally built the computer I got a 850W PSU, the shutdowns happened way more often with that. Friends recommended I get a UPS in case I have bad wall power, but that didn't help at all. I then upgraded to a 1200W PSU. This helped a bit, but it still randomly shuts down every few days. I live in Berlin, Germany btw, never really had power issues and the circuit in my flat should be able to handle it. One minor detail, the PSU does click once when it restarts, unsure what that is. Both this one and the 850W model did that. Other than the PSU swap I also redid the cabling twice, tried running it with an UPS and updated the motherboard firmware. Temps seems normal and the random shutdowns don't seem to correlate with them at all. Anyway, here are my specs: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 1200 W (originally the 850W variant) AMD Ryzen 9 7950X ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity OC 24GB MX-4 thermal paste be quiet! Recently I've spilled coffee (with a little sugar and milk in it) on my desktop. My PC was sitting at the side of my desk, and it has a radiator/fan opening at the top that I'm not using. I was able to get everything cleaned up, only having to replace the motherboard as it has some residue leading into the CPU socket. I tried booting it, and it stay on for a solid 5 minutes before shutting off, afterwards the PC wouldn't boot other than just having the motherboard flash on then off again. I have replaced the motherboard and it seems to be working fine, but there is residue on the GPU and I'm afraid that the residue will fry it. I have used a pressurized container with a mixture of Ethnol, Isopropanol, and Hexane multiple times on the GPU, with it's residue remaining. At this point, should I try to clean off the GPU properly, or should it be fine.

I know PcPartPicker says the motherboard may require a bios update but that's not what I am asking for. Costco and Bestbuy are having 43inch 4k TVs under $300 now. I game Apex Legends for maybe an hour a day, not more than that. Currently using dual 27inch 2k monitors (Dell and LG) Thoughts about using one of those as a desktop monitor. Viewing distance will be about 2.5ft.
