As title says. Pure gaming only 1440p monitor. Which one would be better choice and why?
-
Hello, I am wrapping up my first PC build and the last factor is a GPU. I was initially eyeing the 7900xtx, but after more deliberation, am looking more at the 4090. I have adopted the ideal of buy once, cry once (for better or worse) as I plan to run this setup for awhile before upgrading. I have been thinking of the MSI Suprim X or the Suprim Liquid X, but was wondering if anyone had experiences with these cards, or would suggest another. I personally do not care for the aesthetic of the Strix card, though I do understand it is one of the highest rated for power/performance. It will be housed I'm a Lian Li 011 dynamic evo and I do plan to vertically mount the card. I currently have a 360 radiator for my CPU AIO mounted on the top, but if I went with a liquid cooled card, that would likely be moved to the vertical mounted position and the GPU AIO mounted on top. Any insight or experiences with these, or other comparable cards would be lovely and I would appreciate it very much, thank you! Side note, I am already running a 1000w PSU as well as an i7-13700k with 64gb ddr5.

Hello, i'm deciding on a new monitor, my budget isn't really that much, and i would like to know what monitor to buy, i'm torn between a Samsumg S24D322H TN Panel and a LG 24MK430H IPS Panel. I've searched, and IPS suffers from IPS glow, i play in a dark room and watch a lot of movies/series/anime with a lot of dark scenes, which one would be better option for me? i'm aware of the better color accurary with the IPS but, would the IPS glow ruin dark scenes in dark rooms for me? They are around the same price but i really can't decide which one to choose, would the IPS be like a lottery for less ips glow as possible?

I'm making a list for a first pc I want to build but I'm having trouble deciding on a graphics card I'm thinking Nvidia 3060 series or 3070 series that's under $550 USD msrp. Any recommendations?

Budget (including currency): about 1600-1700 Euro Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly battlefront 2 and preparing for the future(and some mining at the side, probably, less for profit tho) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Since GPU's are pretty much impossible to find for a normal price, I found two prebuilds that are i think are not too bad value. (the website's are German, but ill list the important specs here) I already have a 1440p Ultrawide. 1) Price: 1599 Euro Specs: CPU: R7-3700x GPU: RTX 3070 RAM: 2x 8GB UDIMM DDR4-3200 Storage: NVMe SSD 512GB Link: Here 2) Price: 1649 Euro Specs: CPU: i7-10700 GPU: RTX 3070 RAM: 2x 8GB DDR4 Storage: SSD 1024GB Link: Here Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I have a problem. I currently have an old FX 6300 paired up with a gigabyte 970a ds3p mobo. I would like to get a new CPU to pair it up with my new RX 480. I am currently low on cash so my two choices are the FX 8350 which wouldn't force me into buying new motherboard and RAM or an i3 such as 6100 or 7100 which is also quite cheap and it opens the door to an i5 or an i7 in the future ( I wouldn't be able to afford RAM and motherboard all at once though). I'd also like to point out that I'm not into overclocking, I only know the basic stuff about computers and I really don't want to mess up my hardware.

Here,s the build that i want: R7 1700x G. Skill Ripjaws V 2x8 3200Mhz Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5 EVGA Supernova G2 650w 80+ gold Is the ram compatible with this build since since the page on amazon says its made for z170/x99 If so should i wait for ram which is compatible with ryzen to come out? I already have a GPU, SSD, HDD and an OS: MSI RX 480 8gb gaming x Samsung 850 evo 265gb WD blue 3tb Windows 10 pro 64bit Which Motherboard should i get? The Asus Crosshair VI? The Asus x370 Pro? Or the Asus b350 Plus? Are there better ones than those? I never had a Motherboard from other manufacturers so i,m a little anxious too switch. I,m looking to overclock my CPU so should a get an air cooler or a water cooler? Should i manually overclock or get a strong cooler and let XFR do it,s thing? What i want to do is heavy multitasking, gaming, editing and streaming. The programms i use are: Fraps Audacity Handbrake Virtualdub Hitfilm 4 Express

All right, this is the question that's been bugging me for a while now. Should I get a ~$1100 gaming PC, or a Nintendo Switch? I absolutely want both (I'm a huge fan of PC games and Nintendo franchises), but I can only afford one in the foreseeable future. I'll post a few bullet points of information that might help you decide what you think I should purchase. I will take your opinions into consideration, and not as a definite answer. Please do not, for instance, say "Ofc PC," or so on, strictly because on is more powerful than the other, or because of the number of bullet points over the other. PC games and Switch games are equal in fun to me. Thank you. Pro-PC 1) I would have way more games I could play on a PC than a Switch. 2) It will help with other computer-related tasks other than gaming. 3) A PC's lifetime will arguably be much longer than Switch's one console generation of ~6 years or so. For example, my current PC is 8 y/o and still works fine. (Though, it has a super-low end Radeon HD 7770, 6GB RAM, and an i3-2120 3.2 GHz CPU that can run most of the modern games I care about, granted at super, super low settings.) 4) A fair amount of fun games are F2P, and I don't see myself purchasing any more games than the ones I have right now for now, thus less money spent on purchasing games. 5) ^Thus, I will need to spend money to actually purchase games for the Switch because I would not already have games for it, unlike the games I already have for PC. 6) I will have roughly 0 friends who will also have a Switch to play online with. All of my friends have gaming-capable PC's. 7) Online multiplayer does not require a subscription. 8) Mods. Pro-Switch 1) I only have ~$800 saved, and do not have a job (am currently a college student), so I have no real way to save up the last $300 for a gaming PC. The gaming PC costs ~$1100. So, I would have to wait to play games in high-fidelity. 2) I wouldn't be limited to playing video games in my room; I can play it anywhere. 3) Since I am a college student, I do not have all the time in the world to play games. A $300 Switch might be a more worthwhile investment for the amount of gaming time per dollar rather than a $1100 PC. 4) PC hardware will advance over the Switch's lifetime and also drop in price. So after the Switch's cycle ends, or maybe before it if I miraculously have enough money to purchase a gaming PC, due to the dropping in price. I may also be able to afford a better PC than I was thinking about getting now. I would have a Switch AND an even more excellent PC. 5) I cannot play all the games I own due to them being too demanding for my PC, or they do work but it is not a smooth and enjoyable experience. 6) If I purchase a PC, I will not be able to play my beloved Nintendo franchises. EDIT: Oh, and I can probably sell some stuff I don't need anymore to obtain some more money. For example, some of the computer components in my current crap build, or some other stuff I own. Granted, I don't know if they would be worth too much. Those are all of the points I can think of at the moment. So, what do you think I should do? I'll probably be too hesitant to shell out either amount of money, regardless. Thanks.

Hello Guys, I have been doing Blender 3D animation for a while now and my Gen 2 Thinkpad X1 Carbon is starting to be not nearly powerful enough for what I am doing. I think for my birthday in November I might build a more powerful PC for my animation and some light gaming (CS:GO), I'm thinking about spending around $500. For the graphics card, I've been considering a GTX 1050TI or just a plain 1050, a bit like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBHXR8A/ref=twister_B01N2QQH3J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Can someone recommend me a good 1050Ti please? Also, going for factory superclocked Graphics Cards are a waste of money, right? Also, In my laptop I have a i7-4550U with Intel HD Graphics 5000 http://ark.intel.com/products/75112 How much of a rendering improvement should I expect with a 1050Ti compared to my current CPU/GPU, will my projects' render times be one twentieth of what they are now, or better? Thanks for any help.

Hello LTT community its been forever since I made a post on here, and today I bring you 2 possible AMD RYZEN 5 builds that have been hovering on my PCPartPicker parts list for months. Tired of Intel Pricing and the X99 Architecture though aging, it's still overly expensive. Almost got Kabylake, but I'm glad I waited for RYZEN which is slowly getting better and better especially since BIOSs have been updating and such. Need your thoughts on both as well as suggestions and If I should change parts on either. And lastly, help me decide which build to go with. Mainly using for gaming, some vid editing and a wee bit of content creation. See PCPP Links below and help me out!! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/N4GjQV - White/Blue Theme RYZEN 5 1600 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/29Yhr7 - Black/Turquoise/White accents Theme RYZEN 5 1600X (I really like this unique theme since White and Blue has been done frequently and this is different) Thanks in advance and enjoy!!!

Hello all! I have been building some machines and I have these 2 CPUs spare. I am going to build a machine to sell. I understand that many people say "you don't need an i7 for gaming". I get that, but been as I have these, which one would be preferable if you were buying a PC if they were being sold at the same price. So from that perspective... I need some help!!! Thanks

Hey everyone, I stumbled across this weird thing where a 2x8GB 1866 RAM set from Ballistix costs more than their 2x8GB 2133 RAM set costs. How come, and should I just take it and run away with the 2133 one or is there anything I've overlooked, and the 1866 does better than the 2133? I'll leave a picture for you guys to see as well.

So currently i have a i5 4590 as my CPU, and i have a Iphone 5s as my currently daily phone. Should i buy a new CPU or a new phone. I don't game on my phone but pc is for programming/gaming/editing/rendering. I was looking to upgrade to the i7 4790 cpu. But if i was to upgrade phones i was looking at the one plus 5 with octacore and 6 gigs of ram and 64gb storage. I cannot make a choice on what to get. Can you guys help.

Well, the G4560 beats its 2-threaded little brother by a margin of up to 100% higher frame rates in some games, but there's a twist, and it involves the use I'd be giving to either of these chips and their prices. Here, in Argentina, the G3930 costs around $50, but the Pentium goes for $90. I only want to get either of them as a placeholder until Q2 2018, and I'm not sure if 2X performance / 2X price is the way to go for me, since I'm only gonna be playing SA:MP, Bad Company 2, BF4 and Rainbow Six: Siege, maybe recording and editing some gameplay, but nothing "professional", nothing too heavy. So, which CPU would be the best choice for me right now? Also, going for the more expensive G4560 means no SSD in my PC. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, I'll really appreciate them.

Hi, guys! My journey of looking for the best headphones for me may finally be close to an end, but I need your help beforehand. I ordered a DAC/AMP from a Polish ebay-like site yesterday (Fiio E10K + Fiio D3 for 60$ - I simply couldn't resist) and now I'm looking for a decent pair of headphones to accompany it. I've been holding back with my decision for months, because I realized, that I barely use headphones and I'm looking at studio-quality ones. But now I want to end this problem once and for all, especially when I found some very decent offers on that site (reliable ones, I should add - used, but in perfect condition). I can have: • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm with leather pads for <75$ (it's on an auction - at the moment it "costs" 40$, but the offer ends in two days and it will definitely rise in price, but I don't think that anyone will give more than 75-80$) • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm for 95$ • Audiotechnica ATH-M40X for 75$ • AKG K550 for 100$ (these are the only ones that I could test and all I can say is that I love them) Just to be clear - I probably won't be wearing these for very long sessions, I value comfort, I'll probably game with these more than listen to actual music (but of course, that'll happen too) and above all, I want them to sound the best for the price, like I want them to be an experience, not just listening (and I would say that AKG K550 has this kind of quality for me, so if the rest is better, then awesome). Huge thanks in advance! Thomas

I've been planning on building a system and have created a list of parts that I'll buy, I've been waiting until Black Friday/Cyber Monday to buy these, but have found a deal that may not be beat. This is my parts list so far, the main piece I'm thinking about changing is the GPU. The GPU on the list is a 6GB GTX 1060 for $338, but I've found a RX480 8GB on newegg that when I include shipping costs $350, should I buy this now or should I wait until black friday/cyber monday and hope that I can find a better deal?

hi, i just want to know what is your hardest decision in your build? keep in mind this is just for sharing

So I'm trying to plan out a gaming build, but I'm getting frustrated at trying to find reasons for purchasing an AMD chip over an Intel chip. The sole reasons being given by the community are: its $40 cheaper comes with a CPU cooler (cheaper) good for multitasking easier upgrade path (maybe) Focusing ONLY on gaming, multi-threading, based on what all YouTube tech groups are saying, does NOTHING for games; maybe 10+ extra FPS for one or two titles, but no one is giving solid data for actual (gaming) benefits. Probably since most games seem to only use a single core (once again based on what everyone on YouTube is saying). Are people arguing for AMD simply because cost and they don't like Intel? I don't use Blender and the ONLY multitasking I plan on doing is running Discord and maybe a few tabs in Firefox in the background (and of course two antivirus solutions; I'm cybersecurity). Is it that at 1440p the differences are negligible and you just get more options with Ryzen? If thats the case, I'd love some confirmation. Everyone just seems so wishy-washy on this subject. I'd like an answer and I just want to strangle the next person who says it depends... LIIIIIIINUS!!!

I have to make a decision between 2 1660Tis. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NJPKZQG/?tag=pcpapi-20 or https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Gaming-Graphics-06G-P4-1267-KR/dp/B07NRD6DH4 The thing is is that I got the second one for $240

Hey y'all, I'm planning on getting a new phone because my axon 7 is about to kick the bucket anytime soon. I want to go with a cheaper phone and saw that the pixel 3a xl is a good fit for my needs. Right now, the S10e is currently $550 dollars on Amazon, and I am wondering if it worth the extra $70 dollars for the upgraded hardware. My use for the phone probably won't surpass youtube and pokemon go on the occasion. The 3a xl apparently still has the better camera according to some reviews I read, and the battery life is much higher. I feel like the only drawback to getting the pixel would be that the quality of material used on the phone is not as protective as the s10e. But I think I could just get a nice case and screen protector. If anyone has input on how much better the battery life is on the pixel and the difference between the cameras that would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, any input would be all I need to make a decision. Thanks!

So i'm trying to decide to switch Ryzen for price to performance. I'm switching from an intel i7 7700K, is it worth it right now? I stream, record, game, run streaming applications, and browser always open at once. So I was wondering what would be the better buy 2nd gen 2700x or 3rd gen 3600? Prices USD are $10 difference them both. Just getting CPU & motherboard. Everything is fine.
