I have a case. It's garbage. Building my PC the first time was a nightmare, but I thought my troubles might be done then. Unfortunately I've had to repeatedly replace/ relocate a number of components that are always a pain to reach, just recently I got a new motherboard which turned out to be broken and have to return that in 1 week but the replacement's coming in 2. The thought of replacing the motherboard in this case twice in as many weeks filled me with dread, so I'm just buying a new case now. I've narrowed it down to the Fractal Torrent and the Fractal Meshify 2, I'm curious about your opinions on each. I'm a fan of the look of the Torrent, how it's spacious enough to fit any cooling solution I might want (though I'm fairly certain I'll stick with my NH-D15) and that it already comes with some decent fans in a good config, no need to upgrade or mess with them. With the Meshify 2 there's no worries about running out of room for storage. Not that that's a major issue, I've got the one HDD and I have no plans to get more, but the real draw is honestly that removable top panel. After all the pain I've been through building that sounds like a godsend. I'm not overly concerned about the price as the difference will probably be bridged by the amount I'd have to spend on fans to get the Meshify to perform on par with the Torrent. I'm undecided at the moment so I was hoping to hear other's thoughts on the matter. I'm willing to hear alternative suggestions but before you make any note: 1. this is a somewhat time sensitive matter and both of these are available locally 2. I've never been a fan of glass side panels honestly and the fact these are high performers with an opaque side panel option was a big draw.

The ports etc. are enough on both, but I'm mainly concerned about the difference between cooling and build quality. MSI B460M-A PRO or GIGABYTE B460M DS3H V2 are also an option - can't really choose between those four. Could anyone please help me out?

I am looking to upgrade to either 6800 or 3070. I play a lot of games but also do 3d modelling on the side. I know that based of some AMD provided stats the 6800 performs better in games but how does it do in programs like 3ds max or blender (rendering etc). Does Nvidia do better in this aspect?

So I am currently at my local used games store and I have enough money for either a GameCube, a wii with almost every accessory, a ps2, a ps3, or an Xbox 360. I need help choosing because I’m indecisive as all hell. Just something to note though, I do not have an Xbox account, and I do not want to pay for Xbox live, however the games on it might be good enough to warrant a purchase of Xbox live. thanks for helping me choose

I can find this one locally -- https://mdcomputers.in/antec-650-watt-80-plus-gold-semi-modular-ea650g-pro.html -- but there is not way to tell if it is the 2020 model which is Tier A in the PSU tier list 4.0. My other option is Corsair CX650 which is cheaper than the Antec this one by ~1000 INR (13 USD) I think my current PSU (Gigabyte PB500) is failing so I was searching for a replacement. Also, will 550W be enough if I upgrade my GPU to an RTX 2060? Thanks in advance for replying. My Specs : R5 2600 w/ Stock Cooler RX 470 4G MSI B450 Tomahawk 16G Corsair DDR4 @2933MHz

Hey guys, I'm asking myself whether I should buy an AMD r7 1700 or an Intel I7 7700k. I'm mostly into gaming, programming, a little bit of video editing, I want to run a couple vm's for testing and maybe do some tasks parallel, watching a video while playing games, watching videos while setting up a vm or while I am programming some tools. If u need to know this, the games I'd like to play with my new processor are things like Arma 3, CSGO and the new mass effect. I know that most of the performance will depend on my graphics card. I heard that AMD wanted to stay with AM4, which would be nice while thinking about upgrading my system in the future, but i also heard that it kinda sucks for gaming. I don't know if i need the extra cores of the ryzen processor. I also would like to OC the ryzen processor to smth like 3.8 ghz. Which one should I buy? Which processor fits better for my requirements? Thanks in advance.

So I have been seriously thinking about getting a PS4 for about a month now and am wondering if it is really worth it. I have been a huge PC gamer for the past 4 years with Xbox in there only for CoD and Forza. But my friend has a PS4 and the PS4 exclusives look pretty good, specifically The Last of Us. Now I have the money to get a PS4 Slim 500 Gb or 1 Tb right now but my question is, should I save up to get a PS4 Pro even though I don't have any kind of 4k display around? And is it even going to be worth it getting a PS4 at all? I don't want to drop $300+ dollars on a PS4 and games just to get bored a week later but I also don't want to ditch my PC games because I am making great progress in Elite: Dangerous. Also, I have been an Xbox guy for maybe 6 years and I'm loving it and to me it looks like the overall PS4 experience is bad. My friend has an original PS4 and he has internet problems all the time, it's loud as hell, and has download speeds slower than a sloth. But I assume these issues have been fixed in the new consoles. Whatever, I just want to hear about your guys' experience with the PS4.

I have 5 motherboard choices so please pick which one I should get. Don't consider price when deciding the best board. Also tell me what benefits are from each one. Looking for a new mini itx case, I'm not big into water cooling so.. I prefer silence over most features. Must fit my 1080 turbo Coming from a Fractal Design Nano S Windowed RGB, any good?

So I can't choose between two very popular keyboards, so I am going to have the internet decide for me! I really want Cherry MX Blues and brighter RGB lighting, but I also really want a better build quality and media keys. I'm crossed between which one I should buy, so I'm gonna have you guys decide for me. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, I currently have a really budget and old system: i5 2500k (stock) some random chinese mobo that doesnt support overclocking, thought it did but got scammed. 2x4 gb of ddr3 ram (limited to two slots) gtx 1050 OC a random psu that has 8 pins for gpu power cpu cooler is a arctic 13 So my question is, i've got a £180 budget; my current options for upgrading are as follows (I live in Thailand and i use Lazada, pc components are REALLY low there): Get a Gigabyte gtx 1070 G1 Get 9100f, 12GB of hyperxfury 2666 and a asrock h310 or asus b360m or asrock 365. Get z77 motherboard and massive overclock, with possibly a bigger cooler or an AIO. Get 1060 and z77 motherboard Get 1060 and replace the current ram with 2x8 gb hyperx fury. Another option suggested. The current games that i play are Rust, LoL, Borderlands 3, Fallout 4, Minecraft and sometimes CoD: Modern warfare. I mainly game, though time to time I do record and edit videos for fun. What the topic is really about is how should i spend my money on my rig (not my setup) for mainly gaming purposes, because i know that my whole rig is quiet weak in both the cpu and gpu department. Or just save up. The current problem is that my cpu is so weak that it makes most of the triple A games to lag most of the time because it's constantly pegged at 100% utilisation, also the game that i play most often (RUST) i'm extremely CPU bottle necked (GPU usage is typically around 50% and CPU above 80%, FPS averaging around 30-46); but for that game the system recommendation is a 4690k, I've looked at 2500k vs 4690k and realised that i could potentially get almost the equivalent to it if i overclock it. Thanks in advance.

Heya! I'm moving away from home (yay me), and it's compact living time. My triple monitor setup has to go, and I've been eyeing some 4K monitors with good color accuracy for editing since I do photography. The 27UD88 has been my first hand choice, it seems to pack alot of good stuff and works well for gaming. But.. From what I've heard the 27UD68 is the *exact* same monitor as the 88 but without the extra USB ports, such as 3.0 and Type-C. See, I'm in no need of those ports, so if it's about 200$ cheaper without them and still offer the same picture quality.. I'll get the 68. I basically want this confirmed, I've looked around a fair bit and can only find one old forum post from 2 years ago that was kind of vague. That or if you have any other good options ofc! Thanks!

Hey! I'm starting college soon and need a new laptop. I was set on getting a macbook as I've never owned one and have only heard good things. Then HP came out with their new laptops and now I just can't decide. Also, Apple will release new ones in October apparently and I need it before then (is it worth spending that much money on a laptop which is soon to be outdated?). The laptop is to be used for schoolwork, as said; video editing (very light) and gaming (very, very light. Imagine Wow level). These are the two I'm thinking off: http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-spectre-x360---13t-touch-laptop-p3a84av-1 (with i7-6560U, 8gb of ram & 256GB SSD) http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro?product=MF840LL/A&step=config# (Base config as shown) The HP is only 100$ more expensive since I have a discount on their store. Thanks for your help!

Hello, LinusTechTips I am a long time fan of LinusTT, but just now registered to ask you guys this. I am buying a new PC since my old one cant even handle CS:GO on ultra low and maintain above 70fps. (Its really fucking old) As I was browsing my local tech shop, I found two CPUs - 8320E and i5 6500. Both are in my affordable range (considering I will need a better cooler for the AMD CPU. I will also pair them with my card R7 260X, which is overclocked. I want to ask yoy guys - which one is better? I can provide more details about the type of motherboard, cooler etc. Thanks!

So, I've got a 4690K cooled by a CRYORIG H5 Ultimate inside a Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX. I have a Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm fan on intake in the front and a 120mm version of the same fan on exhaust. The CPU idles at around 34 to 36 degrees with it rising to between 43 and 45 when I've been watching YouTube for a while and goes into the mid-50s when playing something like Portal 2 for a while. GPU idles around 50 to 55 degrees with the fans turned off and heads to the mid 70s in-game. a) Are these temps ok? b) Would it be worth my while to switch out the 200mm intake to two Corsair SP120 High Performance edition 120mm fans I have lying around? Would the temps decrease? Would it be louder? Right now the PC is kinda quiet and I don't want to make it much louder. Side note: Today I was watching the YouTube upload of the WAN Show on my PC in Chrome and I noticed my GPU got up to like gaming levels of temps and usage(70 degrees, about 60% utilisation). Is this normal? It has never happened before with any other YT vid and I was slightly concerned. Vid was being rendered in 1080p.

Hi, I've recently and unexpectedly acquired one of these for approximately the price of a nifty-fifty. Should I keep it, use it, and smile; or should I sell it and get two or three other lenses I've been looking at? (like FD 28 f2 and MD 50 1.4) If I order a cheap adapter to use it for a little while in order to decide, I might get attached; but will likely get over it when I get some other new toy. Your thoughts? Distagon sounds like a far away polygon, dangit Carl.

I need to install my motherboard drivers but when I got to the driver page I was terrified when I saw all of the links. http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97AR/HelpDesk_Download/ Which drivers do I need, or do I simply need all them.

So I have an extra $100 to my computer build. I am wondering an if I should change my Intel i5 4690K to an i7 4790K or use that $100 on a Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case This computer is for gaming, & I don't know if I should have better ventilation or a better CPU. BTW, current case choice is: Thermaltake Commander G42 Window Mid-Tower Chassis Thank you

Hi all, Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Toward the end of October I will be building my Dad a workstation/light gaming PC for his home office setup, but I am torn on what case to use, the S340 from NZXT or the Arc Midi R2 from Fractal. I've heard about the S340 being a bit less fully featured than the R2 (skimping in some areas) but I am really drawn to it's full metal construction and it seems very highly regarded. I will be air cooling (reusing an old 212 Evo) and just want to know which is the better case. The price difference is negligible so that shouldn't really be a deciding factor. Thanks guys!

Buying New Laptop Help Hey guys, this is Austin.. Just kidding. This is my first time on here and I'm here because I need help. I will have close to $1000 in less then a month. My current laptop is an HP nw8440. I got it used from craigslist and got it mainly because it was the only laptop i saw with a dedicated graphics card, under 100 dollars. I got it 6 months ago and now its time for an upgrade. I can't play the games I want on this laptop other then League of Legends at about 30 FPS. My laptop also peaks at around 98 degrees C when gaming and crashes when I'm using software like Inventor or Solidworks. I do have a desktop that I got from a friend. All it needs is a power supply. It's an Intel dual core, 6gb of RAM and has a gts450 graphics card. I haven't used it yet but I don't think investing anymore into it is a great idea because I need portability and power. Im going into college next year so I don't want a laptop that is to big. 'm looking to spend around $600, but I can spend more. Looks arent very important, although metel is nice, as well as backlighted keyboards and such. My big question is, what do I get? An i7? and i5? and Amd? Whats the best graphic choice? Amd apu? Intel i7 integrated, like HD 5500? I think my best bet is an i7-5500u with geforce 820m 2gb. with 8gbs of RAM. right? Please, Please, Please help me. I want power and gaming. I just dont know what graphics option is best. Thank you
