Been looking at a future build and I've run into an issue, kind of. In my new system, I'll hopefully the Corsair Crystal 570X Mirror case that can fit a 360mm radiator. This Fractal Design AIO specifically. Chose it just for the looks and most AIO's perform the same. The problem is the fans. Been looking at my favorite brands that make fans, Noctua and be quiet! Between the silent wings and P12 redux. The thing is, I also want RGB, especially if I'm buying a mirrored case, that would be a wasted opportunity. In that case I'm considering the Corsair iCUE fans or if I want to stick with the fans that come with the AIO and save myself money, the same Fractal Design fans. Shame the RGB fans have the worst values in terms of everything, lower airflow at higher noise levels. Do I need to ditch the RGB fans to ensure cooling or will they do fine? The thing is, is this different actually noticeable? Will I hear the difference of 5dB when the fans are inside the case? Will this "10 CFM" make a difference or is it something die hard airflow enthusiasts will only notice when they overclock their systems to the max. Staying on the title, is there a tier list? Maybe even taking other things into account like ease of installment and so on?

Hi guys, Im a total newbie when it comes to Databases, so you need your help. I want to delete no longer used entries in my Grafana Dashboard, which uses influxdb. So far I just managed to list the nodes in influx: > SHOW TAG VALUES FROM system WITH KEY=host WHERE object='nodes' name: system key value --- ----- host 192 host PVE10 host PVE20 host PVE30 host PVE40 host PVE50 host PVE-02 I want to delete 192 and PVE-02, since they are no longer present in the PVE-Cluster and just take up space in Grafana. I tried something like: DELETE * FROM system WITH KEY=host WHERE object='192' but that obviously didnt work... Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading

Hi all, Long time LTT viewer/forum reader, first time posting - apologies if i'm posting where i shouldn't be. Okay, so i recently bought a second hand, but 1.5year old 1080Ti. Its not a super-dooper one, its the Gigabyte Gaming OC 11G. It seems to work really well, the visuals and FPS are just unbelievable compared to my old 660Ti. Its's still in an older system (i7 - 3770k) until the rest of the parts arrive. Of course i wanted to test it out right away, i couldn't help myself. I loaded up TimeSpy etc and the scores are fine. But when i head into something like Borderlands 3 or The Witcher, the GPU heads directly to 80+ degrees C, sits there and the fans go wild. Are these games particularly demanding on GPUs and therefore the workload for the GPU is expected or are there problems here? Airflow in the case is pretty poor currently, that's why my new rig should suit it way better - better air, more space etc. I'm just trying to work out my expectations i guess, as reviews never ever mention that on mid-higher end cards that they basically take off under any kind of load. I feel like its pretty noisy, or at least a lot noisier than i'd expected. I know my 1080Ti isn't top spec at all - but jsut wondering about other peoples experiences with these issues. Is this why people with higher end cards end up custom water cooling? Is that a quieter/better solution?

Hi, I am a software engineer/data-scientist/AI researcher with low hardware experience. But I have a difficult problem to solve and I need your expertise. I need to build a SINGLE server to do large-scale real-time analytics over tens of TBs of data. And the system should be expandable, as I want to add more HDDs and expansion cards in the future. What I have come up until now is a 60 drive JBOD, connected to the main server with 4 SAS cables. Now things get tricky. Buying a good server is extremely expensive. Furthermore, if you need GPUs to accelerate your apps, then you are limited to fanless Tesla cards, as only they can fit into most servers... So I want to build my own server. My concept. 16 RAM slots or more. I want to put 4x16Gb sticks on start and add some more later. The final desired RAM amount is ~300Gb. 2 sockets. Most likely LGA-2011v3/4. I need something with hyperthreading and at least 8 cores per socket. Most likely it will be Xeon E5-2620. They are not too old and not very expensive. 4 or more PCI-E Gen3 x8 or x16. 4U/5U chassis to fit all of that. 2 mid range GPUs on the start (GTX 1060) plus 2 top level cards in the future. Teslas are too expensive for me and I don’t need features like double precision. On the other hand, I need CUDA support, so AMD is not availiable. 4 or more SAS2 ports. Hardware SAS RAID controller. 1 PCI-E boot drive, probably in M.2 form factor. A small one ~100Gb. In future I plan to add some SATA3 SSDs as temporary buffer for my computations. 12 Toshiba P300 3Tb consumer-grade HDDs in RAID10 for JBOD. I know they are not recommended for such use, but they are many times cheaper then server-grade analogs and seem to be very reliable from what I have seen. I want this to be a single system make it easier for me to deploy my software. The people I normally ask insist on buying multiple small servers instead of one super-computer. But that will result in significant performance drop, as my software leverages all the benefits of many-core systems. I am ready for regular drive failures, but can’t afford SAS or SSDs at the moment. Futhermore, Linus had reached astonishing speeds with 45Drives NAS, so I hope to get the same. I am also considering single-socket solutions, but old CPUs don’t provide required amount of PCI-E lanes and Epycs by AMD are too expensive. Software. I plan to put Ubuntu 16 and ZFS. I have looked through RedHat/Debian options, but their community is not so big and I will definetly have to do some hacking to put everything together... Furthermore, it seems to be a reasonable choice for a server with some workstation-like loads. I have checked out BtrFS, unRAID and some orhers, but they have several problems in my use cases. More details. I currently live in Russia and getting new products from foreign online stores is complicated, as you never know when to expect your delivery. Furthermore, after the customs final price grows 50%. Furthermore, the used/refurbished consumer electronics market is incredibly small in Russia, so buying such parts to make the build cheaper is not an option. Also, in Russia we don’t have a good customer support, so making mistakes and changing parts is expensive. This machine will be working at home, so I need low power consumption. I do research in this area the last 4 weeks and my time runs out. I have to make a decision as soon as possible and hope to get the support of the community. I plan to publish the benchmarks once I build the system! My current plan includes following devices. ⁃ https://www.asus.com/us/Commercial-Servers-Workstations/Z10PED1610G2T/specifications/ ⁃ https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149633 ⁃ http://www.chenbro.com/en-global/products/RackmountChassis/4U_Chassis/RM43260 ⁃ https://ark.intel.com/products/92986/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2620-v4-20M-Cache-2_10-GHz My questions. Will it be possible to find an appropriate case for such a beast? I want the motherboard to be placed horizontally. Is it too bad to leave this machine without a case? With only the fans on CPUs and GPUs? How much power supply would you put in this server? JBOD has its own already. Will such cooler fit the socket? Technically it should, but it doesn’t include “xeons” in supported CPUs list. Can I put 2 of them together? Whats the best cooler I can safely put in here? I don’t want water cooling, as its very fragile. Will the RAID card handle RAID10 on 60 drives? Linus had covered the read speeds of a similar JBOD and sequential write speeds in the “Petabyte project”. They are 1x2.5 GB/s and 0.5 GB/s. But what about random write speeds? Such load is specific to databases. How often will such disks fail? I plan to partition all 60 drives into 5x12 RAID10 groups. Is there a better option for me if I want to pay under 7000USD on the start? Cloud computing is not an option. Is there a way to tune JBOD HDDs to work with low speeds to extend their lifetime? I know I can change head parking time with certain utils, but not sure if its the best I can do. How long I should expect those drives to work? Is there a way to make the NAS less noisy without switching to flash? Considering I load only 12 bays in the beginning. How insane is the entire plan? Is there a chance it will work? How else I can accomplish what I need? I have 3 more computers (macs) and I want them to connect to the database on this server to run some additional analytics as fast as possible... 2 of them have thunderbolt 1 and one has thunderbolt 3. So its speed is 40Gbits/s. How would you connect them if you were me? Thunderbolt to 10Gb Ethernet? PCI-E Thunderbolt expansion card? Another server as a network switch? Thanks in advance!

Well Im thinking about buying a msi gt62vr and wondering if its loud. And how many db is a pc that is loud.

Hello, I had an idea to create a DB related to reporting IPs from players who are cheating in games (the higher reports the higher chance it is true) and then feed this to a program I own which essentially is just a firewall and then cut them off if they are in your set threshold. Etc IP has to be reported more than 10 times the last week, or on the stricter side like 2 reports last month or so, you get the point. How would a service like this go on towards GDPR? The DB will be publicly searchable and list times of reports. Only the user who reported can see their name in the timeline everything else is not public info (but stored in DB). I ask since a service which provide a DB with reported IPs with malicious intension like abuseipdb exists, and I don't know how they go with the GDPR. Service will contain EU IP's and does already have EU users (just a reminder the service I'm talking about does not yet exists). I'm also located in Norway so I have to follow GDPR which I gladly would do.

I am trying to find the low dBi SSID's on my Windows Desktop which my Kali Linux is seeming to pick up, even with low dBi, Kali is able to still find it (as the picture shows below). But for some reason my Windows isn't picking up the low dBi Signals like I am in Kali Linux, I know Windows has some sort of control over that, but I don't know what exactly, would there be a way to disable the way Windows Controls the way of finding/searching for SSID's? I'm using 2 different network cards by ALFA, The AWUS036ACH and the AWUS036NHA, both are plugged into my USB 3.0 slots on the front, both using a 5dBi Antenna. And if it can't be disabled, Any recommended programs for that sorta thing? I know the ACH has the Realtek USB LAN Utility tool (which doesn't help much) but.

Hello! I have an EVGA SuperNova NEX 650W G1 Power supply, and it seems to be quite loud. Its not that loud, it just sounds like the stock Intel cooler. But it is by far the loudest in my case. All the rest of my components are dead silent. Like my MSI GTX 970's fan wont even move on idle. I have a Corsair 300R case that is about 2-3Ft away from me. Anyone else's G1 Power supply like this? Thanks for the help and advice!

Hey, I am working on a project and I need to add an image to the database. I have already got a $_FILES form in my PHP and I have realised I cannot add the image to the database the normal way in SQL INSERT INTO So I was wondering if anybody could help me, here is the PHP I have so far for uploading the images to the database, and it is not working. $uploads_dir = 'C:/xampp/htdocs/YRSSnapimal/image_uploads';foreach ($_FILES["image"]["error"] as $key => $error) { if ($error == UPLOAD_ERR_OK) { $tmp_name = $_FILES["image"]["tmp_name"][$key]; $name = $_FILES["image"]["name"][$key]; move_uploaded_file($tmp_name, "$uploads_dir/$name"); }} Thanks!

Hello LTT I have got a problem. Whenever I play Dayz or another game which I maxed out graphics wise, something in my PC starts making a loud, annoying ratteling noise. I have stopped the fans of my CPU cooler, fans of the GPU and the case fans with my hand and the noise continued. The only option left is what I think is the PSU. I just can't understand why it only makes that noise when I set my setting on max or play certain games. Is it because the fan in the PSU ramps up to a certain speed? Anyhow, I have the Corsair CX750M PSU. Have any of you experienced the same problem? Thank you

Im using my ATH-M50 headset with my new Asus Xonar Essence STX soundcard.. I was ready for the sound to get way higher and the feature to add way more bass to the soundstage. but I was some what disappointed, because I did not feel the money I put in the the soundcard was worth it. But then I saw this feature in the Xonar Essence STX Audio Center When I turned the Headphone Impedance up to "Extra High Gain" or +18dB" (See picture 1) I got the sound I was looking for, even just with 20/100 Volume, but after selecting it I got this warning (See picture 2) The thing im wondering about is it is really damaging my headphones if im not going over 20/100 Volume? Because im really sure my ATH-M50 arent made for this, but I cant go back to the normal setting after it.. Also which headphones do you guys recommend if I want to use the "Extra High Gain" or +18dB" setting?

After pondering on the question of: how do I measure the level of noise when there are 2 or more identical fans making the same amount of noise. I asked my science teacher who directed me to another science teacher who knew. I then asked, if I have 2 or more fans both making 23dB of noise, how do I calculate the overall intensity of the noise? Since I knew the the answer wasn't going to be 46dB I had discovered that the difference between 1dB and 2db is that 2dB is 10 to the power of 1dB. Meaning that the intensity of noise increases very quickly and exponentially. The teacher answered saying that: whenever you have two things making the same level of noise, the overall intensity will be 3dB more than one of the things creating the noise. This rule relates to any two or more things making the same level of noise. In conclusion, you obviously won't be able to know the exact noise output when counting in the vibration, if you have multiple fans at different noise intensities and distance from the case but providing the company gives a measurement of how loud their fan is, then you can use this rule to get a rough estimate of you computers output of noise in decibels.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a way to filter out everything under 300Hz to send that to my bass amplifier. Its the filter part, I have no idea wheather something like that exists, commercially. Does anyone of you know anything? Cheers

I know there is a way. I just don't know how, but can anyone help me with this? Basically I want to change the database depending on the user. For example, when a customer logged in, the whole website will use user database, but when the admin logged in, the website will now use an admin database. Both database has the same tables and everything BUT, the data are different. Can I do something like this in the model: if(user){ public $useDbConfig = 'user';}elseif(admin){ public $useDbConfig = 'admin';}
