My i7 8700K keeps hitting 100°C under full load while idling at 40°C. Cooler is beQuiet dark rock pro 3. I've reinstalled the cooler multiple times, thermal paste coverage looked good each time but the temps just wont go down. This is without any overclock. Is there any other reason except a mistake in mounting that could cause this (Because I like to think that I didnt screw up mounting that cooler 3 f*cking times)?

Hi everyone, I'm researching a new build, and have ran into the following issue - beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 and G.skill Trident Z compatibility. The ddr4 modules have a height of 44mm and the cpu cooler has 34.9mm clearance below the front fan and 39mm clearance below the heatsink (http://www.bequiet.com/volumes/PDM/_products/bk019/bk019_dim_en.pdf). Judging by the figures above, they should not fit. However, I found multiple builds on pcpartpicker where the TridentZ ram has exactly enough height below the cpu cooler (http://pcpartpicker.com/b/T4zMnQ) My question is the following: is there a height difference between ram slots and the cpu socket? How could 44mm high ram modules fit under a cpu cooler that has a maximum of 39mm clearance? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

So im getting my first build and im using a NZXT s340 as my case but the only thing thats bothering me is the CPU cooler that ill get. Im going with an Intel Core i7 6700k alongside an EVGA GTX 1070 FTW and i dont know what kind of air cooler i should get that can keep up with the i7 6700k 's level (maybe even a small OC to like 4,2 - 4,3 GHz). Originally, i chose the Dark rock pro 3 because i had seen various forum posts and videos which prove it to be a good cooler but after some research i started to worry about the size and how it would fit in my case. After that i started searching for alternative coolers which were under the 100 Euro range and so my attention went to the Cryorig H7. That was the cooler i believed (and still believe) i should get for my build but am still not sure if its good enough for the i7 6700k. The H5 Ultimate was another alternative pick to the Dark rock since alot of people believe it to be a very good cooler and much better than the H7 but the thing is that the H5 Ultimate has a similar size to the Dark rock and im worried whether it would fit into my case (i had read some posts which said their Dark rock/ H5 Ultimate had barely fit in their s340 and that some people even needed to put force in order to close the case). To conclude, im asking whether i should stick to the Cryorig H7 for an i7 6700k in a NZXT s340 or get something else (opinions are always accepted). PS. I would also like to know if these coolers will have any conflict with the ram slots or GPU Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mHN3d6 Thanks for your time

Hey all, I intend to overclock my system very soon, and as a result, want to purchase a beefy air cooler. I have a 6700k which I've been cooling with an intel stock cooler so far (i know, i know... burn me at the stake), but I obviously don't want this situation to remain this way. My case is an Antec Six-Hundred V2 and has a 280mm fan on top and as a result, doesn't have the space for an AIO water cooling radiator meaning my only choice is an air cooler. Don't really have limits on my budget for it. Not interested in custom water cooling. Im using low-profile Corsair vengeance LPX RAM so it shouldn't be causing any clearance problem with the cooler and i'm running it all on an msi z170a gaming m5 motherboard. What would you recommend ? I've been thinking of the Dark Rock Pro 3 but wanted to ask around before making a definite decision. Obviously the Noctua nh-d15 is the best cooler around but it is just.. so.. ugly. Got a black and red theme going out for most of my case so would like the air cooler to fit that general style. Also if I could get any help making sure the clearance for the front panel works fine ? Thanks in advance!

Yo can anyone help? Ok so I'm looking to replace my cpu watercooler its making weird sounds and I'm afaid its going to break (Swiftech H220 X2 2x120) had it about 8months or so. I'm thinking of replacing it with a high end aircooler so I don't need to worry about leaks. I'm thinking about the (be quiet! DARK ROCK PRO 3 Silentwings CPU Cooler 250W TDP) but I'm not 100% sure it will fit due to the size of the heatsink and fans. Do you guys think it will fit? I'm thinking the only problem would be the ram size since I don't belive its low profile ram. Anyways tell me what you think. Specs: Graphics Card: GTX 1080 HYBRID CPU: i7‑6700K running stock speed (4.0GHz) CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220 X2 2x120 Mobo: Z170 ASUS Deluxe Ram: 16GB G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3200 C16 Case: 760T Corsair HDD: Seagate Firecuda 2TB ALSO think temps would a lot higher since I would be doing aircooling or stay around the same? My temps are 18-20 Idle with Swiftech H220 X2 2x120

I recently got a 3960X and be quiet dark rock pro 3 on an Asus rampage iv from my cousin who upgraded. I am new to overclocking and need to know what to do. Do I just change the multiplier and leave it if it's stable or do I have to fiddle around with voltages and that sort of stuff. Thanks

Can I fit a big air cooler like the Dark Rock Pro 3 in the Fractal Define mini C? I am planing to build an ITX system and do not know if I can fit the air cooler or if I should go with the H60 AIO.

Hello there, i have currently got my Pure Steel case and i am happy to be finally able to screw in everything into its own place. I had to grind in some recesses into the front HDD/SSD mounting plate for SATA psu connectors but the product page said something about modding and the build was actually pretty easy and done within 2 hours. When i was done it struck me very hard: My Dark Rock Pro 3 is too tall and the glass planel does "sit" on it. I googled beforehand if it would fit and i read of people that easily fit it and also for me it is like only 1mm too much. The Dark Rock Pro 3 has these black nops on the top. Do you think i can safely grind these off or are those part of a screw/heatpipe? I guess i could hide that by applying fresh black paint afterwards, i am more worried about functionality. What do you think, good or bad idea?

For the past week or so, I've been eyeing the corsair 280x matx case but noticed that the cpu cooler height was fairly limited (150mm). At first I was just going to shove everything from my pc into there but with the cpu height limitation, my Dark Rock Pro 3 won't fit in. So i was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on what I could do to make it fit. The idea I have in mind right now is to replace the thumb screws on the tempered glass panel for longer ones and put some spacers in between to give it the extra height for the cpu cooler. I know I will have a gap but that's the only thing I could think of. Really appreciate if you guys could give me some feed back as I am not too sure about this.

im searching for a tempered glass case to update from my corsair air 540 and i was about to buy the s340 elite from nzxt when i realized that my cooler,a dark rock pro 3 is too tall for this case(about 2mm more that the case allows). so now i'm looking for an alternative with good reviews that can fit my cooler.i want to spend 150 euros max any help would be appreciated :)))

I'm going to upgrade my moms air cooler from the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO she has now cooling her i5-4460. I'm going for best air cooling performance but at the same time being as quiet as possible. Which one of these 2 coolers would cool the best while staying the quietest? I don't want to put a liquid cooler on it because I don't want to worry about leaks or the pump dying on her. Cooler Master uses vapor chambers so I thought it would cool better but its hard to find videos of the Dark Rock 3 or 4 being compared to the air Maker 8.

Hi Everyone, I was hoping on getting a new motherboard, cpu and some memory but here's my dilemma. I have a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 heatsink and it gets in the way of the DDR4 ram modules. Would Corsair LPX be the only type of ram I'd be able to purchase? Are there any other types of ram I'd be able to buy. I don't really ever see "Ram height" on any spec sheets so yeah.. Thanks in advance!

I have an air-cool system with "BeQuite Dark Rock Pro 3" and it has terrible mounting system. I was wondering does this particular heat sink has aftermarket mounting solutions? Next year I'm heading to NewYork for 8 months, and I will disassemble my PC to bring it with me and will have to do it again after those 8 months. So it will save a lot of frustration after. Or I might be better off getting a new heatsink? The "Noctua NH-D15" for "better performance?" and easier future disassembly? So I ordered the Dark Rock Pro 3 this week because it was a great price without thinking about the RAM clearance for it. My motherboard is Gigabyte - Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 and the RAM I'm looking at is Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3000 Memory. I'm not sure if the motherboard would play a role with the RAM fitting in or not. I've heard that the clearance is 44mm maximum, and it probably doesn't help that I can't figure out how to view the specs as how high the RAM is, I know it's low profile, but I'm still worried. Thanks guys.

Hi, I wanted to know, if the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 is compatible with the Gigabyte Aaorus Z370 Gaming 7 Mainboard? It is really a beast and I wonder if it fits on the Board. The things that worry me are marked red. And if not, are there any comparable alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Hi. I don't understand much about PC's but i am planning on building my first PC. Here comes my dumb question. I am interested in Dark Rock Pro 3. In their homepage there is written: 250 W TDP. For example if my whole system without CPU cooler requires 500 W, does this mean that i need a PSU of at least 750 W? Is it possible that a CPU cooler requires that much power from PSU? If not, how much power does Dark rock pro 3 needs? Thanks and sorry if this question has already been discussed.

Hello everyone! I create this post because I would like to know if anyone has been able to fit a Dark Rock Pro 3 (DRP3) from be quiet! into a corsair 400c. The DRP3 is 163mm high and the case seems to allow up to 170mm but so far I haven't seen any build or pictures with this configuration so I prefer asking before buying ^^' I'd like to put this CPU cooler into this case with a maximus VIII. Do you think this would fit? Thank you for any answer and if you have this specific configuration I'd be keen to get some pictures to have a better idea of the beast.

Will these two components look good in a white H440 or a black H440? Will i be able to see the heatsinks on the mobo with this cooler? Should i get a different mobo/cooler to make it look better? If you have this two components please send me pics of it.

If anyone had built with these two components let me know, is there actually a 1-2 mm clearance from the side panel window? I honestly don't mind this small distance, as I have went through a lot of trouble to get the two components shipped! Thanks for the replies, they are all taken into consideration. Encoded.

Hi, I wanted to know, if anybody had already tried to fit the Dark Rock pro 3 in the Obsidian series 450 D? Well in the product Informations the Cooler is 163mm high and the case supports coolers up to 165mm but that seems to be a very tight fit. Thanks for helping me!

Hi guys, a year ago i built this pc the original cpu cooler i bought for my cpu was a Xigmatek cooler. I didn't like the looks of it so i saved up a little bit and bought a way too overpriced cpu cooler for my cheap amd FX-8320 cpu a Be Quiet dark rock pro 3, but since i changed the cooler the temperatures started displaying insane temperatures as shown in the picture. While i'm playing games the temperature will raise up to like 30-40°C. As you can see, the cpu isn't overclocked and is just running on the ''Asrock X-Boost'' mode selected in the Bios. The fans are running at normal speeds since they are just really quiet you can't hear them, is there anything wrong with my cpu or are these temperatures able to reach on idle speeds? I would love to get some feedback from you guys, i'm just curious and unsure!

I have the stock Intel Cooler for my Intel Core i5 4590 and it is like a jet engine. I want to buy a new CPU cooler for around $25-100 that is quiet. I dont care much about temps (under 45c idle is good), I do care about sound. I was looking into the Hyper 212 Evo ($35), will it be silent? I was also looking into the Dark Rock Pro 3 ($85), I heard it is super silent. Also, Arctic Mx-4 as Thermal Paste?

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm planning to combine a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 (CPU Cooler) with the Intel i5-4670K (CPU), and an MSI Z97 Gaming 7 (mobo) Has anyone ever combined similar things, and what are your experiences with the CPU cooler itself? Thanks in advance!
