Hello, I need urgent help in how to rip a damaged audio CD. I found a bunch of my mom's old CDs from the early 2000s that she believed she had lost, most of them are in ok to bad shape. Her bday is coming up soon so I wanted to get an MP3 player with all the music on the CDs loaded up on it as a bday gift. They are abour 30 CDs, I have come across two of them that play just fine with some songs having a couple of hiccups, I went ahead and ripped them but they stay stuck as I can hear the DVD reader on my PC go crazy trying to read the disk while ripping. Is there a way I can rip these CDs? I have tried cleaning them well with soap and water and a soft cloth but to no avail. I heard there was a brillo option but I do not wish to damage them any more than they already are to the point where they are unplayable. Any help will do please.

I need some help finding a component on a Gameboy Micro. Its label on the chip reads "MITSUMI JAPAN 523 H PM C". I've tried looking all over for this thing and can't find it for sale anywhere. I know the Gameboy Micro was a pretty niche console, but there has to be one of these chips laying around somewhere. I've looked on Aliexpress and Digikey and a bunch of other places with no luck. It seems like for GB components you mostly find GBA or GBA SP stuff, and the parts are not the same as the GBM. I'm totally stumped, and buying another one on ebay or finding a replacement motherboard seems like a waste if I could just fix what I have with this one chip. In general I don't actually know what this chip does, but I know its important because it got destroyed on my GBM after getting water damaged and the console will not turn on whatsoever, despite lighting up momentarily when plugging in the AC adapter. My guess is that it has to do with power delivery to the CPU from the battery or something.

Hey, so I recently bought this 3080 from one of the top retailers in my country and to my surprise the box was not sealed. I looked it up and apparantly Gigabyte doesn't seal their boxes (hello? what frickin reason does that have?). Once I checked the card I found the antistatic bag open as if by a sharp object, whether it is the graphics card itself during shipping or someone who had no obstacles preventing them from opening it and damaging it. Excuse the poor quality of the photos, but it was quite difficult to catch. BTW on the back is a yellow "Gigabyte Certified" sticker implying that it might be a refurb, but obviously I paid for a new one. What do ya'll think, am I overthinking it? RMA isn't an option, I'm definitely NOT gonna get a hold of another 3080, nevermind such a sexy looking one. Damn it Gigabyte. First time posting, hope I haven't missed any rules or something =D

Hello. i am getting a disk reading error since 2 weeks when i start up the pc there is "a disk read error occured" ctrl alt del to restart when doing this maybe 2 times my pc boots up normally. i dont change anything and everything works fine no crashes cause of it and all my data is complete and good i am still concerned tho and wanted to ask if i should delete everything on my ssd ( in my language its called formatieren dont know whats called in english maybe format ?) do u think that if i delete everything the error might disappear or not? i have a bootable usb with windows file in it so i can repair and if it doesnt work install windows completly again. otherwise other suggestions would be much appreciated thank you for reading and helping stay safe Rotato

Greetings All, I own a 2017 LG Gram (13Z980) and it has been my daily driver for the past 2 years. I use it for work and personal so it has seen a TON of use. A few weeks ago I noticed a spot form on my trackpad and thought it may have been a piece of dirt or whatever. I ran my fingernail lightly over top and ended up taking a good bit of the top coating off . Its now wearing away at a pretty good rate probably due to finger oils decaying it and whatnot. (Attached Photo) I've been searching for replacement trackpads but the closest thing I've been able to find is the whole deck assembly including the keyboard for like $200+, or purchasing a "for parts only" situation for even more. Does anyone know of a good place to get replacement trackpads that might have one for my machine? Given LG isn't huge in the laptop / computer manufacturing game, I'm realizing now that its difficult to find replacement parts. Its an 8th Gen i7 with PLENTY of life left and it fits my needs perfectly, however (when I cant use my wireless), the uneven trackpad surface and now spotty tracking is driving me nuts. Hi, I have an old Notebook I wanted to repurpose because it was a multimedia notebook, the screen is presumably broken and the keyboard and chassis got a heavy dent in the center. / (specs at the end) The thing is I can't get the remains of the notebook to post or enter the BIOS even with every peripheral detached, basically just the mobo, cpu with heatsink and fan, ram and power switch with status leds. It is powered by it's brick with the battery removed. There is no obvious damage to the board itself. Uppon pressing the power button the fan starts spinning and the leds light up, after a couple seconds everything shuts off and after another couple seconds it fires back up on its own, again in the same way, then again everything shuts down one last time and on the third run the fan ramps up to a hundred percent indefinetely without running notably hot. I get no video output through it's own display (it might be shattered as it crunches when I run my knuckles across, I can't check right now anyway) or through the hdmi port, also switching inputs via FN macro on the keyboard did nothing. There was a distinct humming sounding like speaker interference but it stopped after detaching the speakers. I figured the cpu might be a problem as I have seen this kind of behaviour when for example it's not seated correctly or pins are damaged. I checked the cpu and socket for damages but everything is fine, switching out ram did no good either. The interior of the chassis is covered in metal sheets and there are metal contacts (hourglass shaped metal strip springs) labeled "SPR1", "SPR8" and so on and I have no idea what they are for, maybe they need to short in order to create ground or something, I have never seen something like this. A new CPU would cost less than 10-20€, an even better one less than 40€ but a new motherboard would be more than a 100€ and thats just not worth it, unless there would be an alternative. Hello, I broke my phone's screen a few days ago and since then there is a weird discoloration on a part of the screen It is very visible (especially on white background). It's like there's permanent pressure on the screen even when there is none applied. Is there any way I can fix this or is the damage permanent? The touch still works on that area and I can also see text fine on that area.

Hello, I would really like to know your experiences of using DHL to ship computers/computer parts within Europe. I want to make a purchase from a German retailer, but the only real option for delivery to my country is using DHL. And checking DHL reviews on internet just made me very wary. At the same time I thought that maybe people just rarely leave good reviews for delivery services and therefor only negative reviews accumulate. DHL reviews on Trustpilot at 1.2 out of 5 stars - DHL Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of www.dhl.com (trustpilot.com) The site I'm currently checking out is www.computeruniverse.net and as far as I understand, they do provide replacements in case of damaged goods during shipment. Still I would rather have everything delivered in a well working condition. Thank you very much! -
After about seven years of use my 2007 MBP started to display a vertical line -- the line only appears in the one area (see picture below), but sometimes there's a second/third line right next to it of a different color. The lines come and go as I move the screen but there is no predictable pattern. Also, if I press on the screen (lightly) then there is also a grey hazing (which goes away as soon as I remove pressure). Obviously the screen is bad, but I was wondering what causes the lines to come and go, why they're different colors, and why a bit of pressure causes a grey hazing (sometimes that takes up the whole screen and others just part of it). @Glenwing

Hey Guys, I bought new PG279Q roughly a month ago. Today I noticed these dots on screen, Initially I thought its some dust so I cleaned it but I couldn't remove it. I am not sure if its inside or outside but clearly I cannot get it removed. I need to figure if its internal damage caused by my monitor itself or somehow I accidentally caused it. also I am pretty sure these dots were not on screen a week ago.

Hello the last month or so my phone keept rebooting randomly not often but somtimes. About an hour ago this happened again but it hasn't stopped rebooting since it's stuck in a bootloop. The phone tries to turn on but fails and keeps starting over again. It ran out of battery and I was happy because it stopped. I plugged its power cable back in but it just started with that bootloop again. My phone is a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and today is the last day I have warranty on this thing. I bought it on Amazon, should I send it back to them or to Sony directly if this is the only option. Need help fast thank you in advanced.

So..my 6 year old laptop got punctured accidentaly by me while i was trying to reach dust in deep corners of the laptop And then i tried to start it up and nothing, no display just the light indicator and i hear the fan ramping up.. Is there a way to repair punctured motherboard??

Part of my GPU was burnt up when I turned on my PC today. The display never came on and I started to smell burnt electronics so I quick flipped the power supply off. Then I noticed the GPU was the culprit and after taking off the heatsink I found what appears to be a burnt part of the VRM if I'm correct(shown in images). I was just wondering if this is replaceable and if so is it worth it to try getting it fixed or fixing myself? P.S. The rest of the system booted fine after I took out the GPU and tried the Integrated Graphics.

Hello everyone, Regretfully during a build last week, a young sibling managed to knock my brand new 9600k off a low stool. The CPU departed from the plastic casing in free-fall and slid a few inches across a tiled floor. Thankfully, no serious damage was dealt to the CPU - I have it up and running in my system currently. It has ran P95 and intel burn test with maximum temps of 66 degrees while under full load. I did notice one VERY small scratch on what I believe is the motherboard PCB. I have been playing blackout, world of Warcraft and Arma today with no visible issues. Regretfully, I do not have the knowledge or expertise to state if the longevity of the CPU has been shortened. I tend to hold onto my CPUs for a while, with my last 2 i5s being a 2500k/4690k respectively - I just hope the CPU us not going to throw in the towel a year down the line. So at some point the power strip that I had was failing so as a temporary fix I had plugged my PC into the wall socket directly and like a dummy, I forgot to actually plug it back into the new strip I had bought. Several months later we have had a power surge but I thought nothing of it. My PC hasn't been turned on in a couple weeks and of course I thought it was safely plugged into the power strip. Sadly, I was wrong. When I finally went to turn on my PC, nothing happened. I checked all the connections and made sure to use an outlet I knew was working and yet nothing. So on a hunch I decided to buy a new power supply and while I was at it I replaced the CMOS battery. The LED indicator light on my motherboard finally came to life and I went to power on my PC aaand... nothing... sort of. Everything will kick in for half a second like it wants to start up but then ultimately nothing happens. Everything just seems to shut down. I've checked and rechecked every connector there is and made sure the power supply really was working by quickly plugging it into a regular desktop PC and it powered it up no problem. I also know it's not a wattage issue because it's the same wattage as the power supply I had previously. I checked to make sure the RAM sticks were functioning and even tried it with a stick that I knew was still functional and nothing. Below are the specifications of my build and I'll also include an image or two to see if anyone can spot something physically (Maybe a missed connector or something) CPU: i7-4770K (Using standard Intel provided CPU fan/heat sink) Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth Z87 RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2400mhz 16GB (Single Channel) GPU: EVGA Geforce 970 PSU: Corsair 750w (Partially modular) If anyone has any ideas, please help. This PC means more to me than most might think. This was my belated graduation present from my Dad from 2011 and since he had passed away I told myself I would try to keep this machine running for as long as I can and I really don't want to see it go because of something as stupid as me forgetting to plug it back into a surge protector.

Fresh new windows install. I have 2 graphics cards for 2 monitors gtx970 and gtx 650. When both are plugged in I get black screens, the computer freezes, crashes etc. I tried only with the 970, I get FPS drops and it doesn't work as it used to. I tried only the 650, it works but because its a 650 I can't play most of the new games at playable graphics settings. Ordered a GTX1070 alone it works as it should be. With the 650 it crashes the same way as it did with the 970. Now the only thing I can think about is either the PSU or the Motherboard. Any help / ideas is welcome. Thank you

Hello! I'm in the market for a new monitor with higher res than 1080p. Since I'm buying a lot of stuff, I looked for a cheap used display and found this 4k monitor with a problem. Is this monitor most likely permanently damaged from being dropped on the floor, or is it possibly a bad internal connection? Any suggestions?

hello everybody, something quite weird recently happened to my micro SD card. I was using my phone normally, when i notice i'm not able to open the Instagram app. so, i decide to restart my phone and lo and behold, all the stuff i put on my SD card wasn't appearing. the phone just un-mounted the SD card and flagged it as damaged, but it still works. is there a way i can fix this problem without formatting the card? thanks in advance. -

So I needed a computer to help capture some video for remote meetings in the current situation. Trying to get my old computer going and everything was going great, needed to pull a old drive out but my newly acquired second hand 960G1 was in the way. As I pulled it out the plastic around slot came off with it and not sure how to get it back on. (Yes the clip was removed, never had an issue removing gpus before as I help build and repair for others, just never had this issue.) im in Australia (was tempted to submit for ROG reboot, if I could afford a new pc I would but I work in community support roles and pay isn’t the best, plus three kids. Hoping to be able to fix this. The board is a Gigabyte GA-Z77x up5th with a 3770k and a got that I may now be able to use. help or suggestions would be appreciated.

A few weeks ago lightning hit my house and the resulting power surge broke some electronic stuff, including my custom NAS-Build. The PC was still powering on (fans and drives spinning), but i did not connect to my network or output a video signal when connecting a monitor. Conveniently the mainboard doesn't have a Debug-LED or even the option to connect an internal speaker, so i had to let it sit until i got around to troubleshooting it today. Please note that the build was running fine for some months prior to this happening. After a short while of removing component after component and trying to power it on again i figured out it only didn't boot when trying to run dual channel memory, both memory modules were working fine in single channel mode. Some online research revealed, that this could have to do with broken or bent CPU pins, so i checked that next. When removing the CPU i noticed a pin that seemed like the tip was broken or burnt off (see attachment). I think it's pin G-15 in the attached diagram and has something to do with power delivery for DDR3 memory, so that may be the issue. Another problem i ran into when trying to boot with only one RAM module was the PC not recognizing any boot media, even tough the SSD was showing up in the BIOS and booting properly on another system. Although i'm not sure if this has anything to do with the aforementioned problem or is just due to me missing some setting. Specs: ASRock H61M-ITX Mainboard Intel Core i3-2120 2x4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333MHz 64GB SanDisk SSD Now I'm not really sure what to do next. Is the damaged pin the cause of my problems? How did it suddenly get damaged? Did the power surge somehow cause it to burn out? Hope you guys can help me with that, thanks in advance.

I've been building a custom PC and bought some portion of it from a friend who built something similar. During the delivery we did not place something on the inside of the case, a Corsair Air 540, to hold the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO's in place... From what I can tell, it was bumped around quite a bit during the delivery. I'm not too sure if the mobo has other damages yet but the main issue right now is this... please bare with me. The CPU Heatsink's bracer screws have stripped the mobo holes. I've asked a few friends what I should do about it. Some said solder it down or to use Plumbers Pudding-- totally something I don't want to do as I believe it would not be totally stable... and it would get messy. Another friend explained that I could get some screws for the hole that are longer and get a washer to put on the other side to hold it in. That seems like the best bet for my issue... I'm not sure about the mobo's model name but I don't think that is important, the screws that hold stuff like that down for computers is pretty generic standard size right? Anyways, could you excellent people suggest a way to fix my problem? I can provide pictures of the mobo and total build as well. As for the big question... I'm not sure where to look online for the screws I would need. I'm not sure what keywords would work best for my situation.
