I imagine that this question is somewhat difficult to answer, or even unusual, but it is something that makes me quite curious. Do any large manufacturers like Channel Well Technology, Compucase and Andyson or companies like Sea Sonic (also a manufacturer), Corsair and Antec work with this type of cabling? Silicone rubber (SR) cables are usually more flexible than polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ones and have advantages such as non-melting, halogen-free, although they are more expensive. They could be a good alternative to custom cables, coming from the own manufacturer, having good security (flame-retardant) and compliance with some requirements (halogen-free). Although I imagine the answer is simple: any increase in cost is fatal and no manufacturer works with this material (for power supply cables).

Hi all, Since i did a freesh install of my Windows 10, every time I put my PC in sleep mode wake it up, every color customization comes bac to a wierdly agressive turquoise. If I change it to a different color let's say gray), it will stay gray until next reboot or sleep mode. I did deactivate account settings sync as suggested by the Microsoft forum but it didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks

I want to be able to set a "Screen Saver Presentation" to see a different one when the screensaver activates, there's no option for that natively as far as I see. Perhaps there's some free software out there where that I can select as my screensaver, and it will select the others to display. Please tell me of anything like that. Second Question. Here's a list of Screensavers, you probably recognize some of those names, I downloaded some .scr screensaver files And while I can click "Install" to preview them, the next time I open the "Change Screensaver" windows, they are gone How do I make them stay? I tried opening W. Explorer as Admin to make the instalation, but that's not enough. See, if I select a different one, all the .scr screensavers disappear from the list, what can I do to keep them there?

Basically I want to change the PCIE 8 pin cables feeding into my GPU. The current cable that came included with the power supply is too thick, making it difficult to install the glass panel without pressing the GPU inwards, as well as being too ugly (picture attached). I know that one is not supposed to mix power cables from different PSU's, so I assume that I can't just use any "custom or modded" cable. So I'd appreciate if you can share some information with me on how to choose the appropriate cable, and if it's ok to just change the cables feeding into the GPU while keeping the already existing cables feeding into the remaining components. I don't mind upgrading all the cables for better looks, but I'd prefer to stretch my expenditure over a long period of time as my budget has already been exceeded. Also is it better to get cables which are extensions or ones that plug directly into the PSU. I'd like to factor in cost and quality into consideration, I prefer higher quality but not to a point where I'll be paying a premium for a diminishing return. Another thing I wanna know is it ok if I use a 90 degree connector, or if I should just look for a cable with a 90 degree header. The specs of the parts involved for reference: PSU: ROG Strix 1000W Gold GPU:ROG Strix RTX3090

Hey there, So I have an old wireless Apple magic keyboard, and since quarantine has granted me more free time than I would like, I've decided to modify the keyboard. I'm hoping to change the silver aluminum frame to black, while keeping the keycaps their original white color. I've looked around online, but have not found any consistent advice on the best way to approach this. I was thinking about removing each of the keycaps, covering up each of the keycap mechanisms with tape, then spray painting the aluminum frame black. Any advice on the best way to do this while maintaining the original smooth metallic feel? (This is the keyboard) Thanks

Hey everyone, I was watching some LTT videos in preparation for my first build, and I totally fell in love with ... a power cable Any idea where I can purchase this? I absolutely love it because it looks so heavy duty! I looked for braided power cord on Google and Amazon, but I cannot find anything that looks like this, so any help would be highly appreciated!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7MYOpFONCU&feature=youtu.be&t=2112 Thank you!

A silly question about the appearance of Windows 7, and potentially other versions if they share this part. How can I make the system tray icons (those at the end of the taskbar) bigger? Windows only has two options for taskbar icons: standard and small. But that has no impact on system tray icons. By changing the DPI settings I can get everything to be larger (icons, text, etc), but I just want the tray icons to be substantially larger, leaving everything else as it is. The reason is that I end up clicking on those every now and then for different reasons, and there is no point in having to do so in a tiny corner of my desktop (I have the taskbar in auto-hide, so I don't care about its size). I found recommendations for Stardock's Windows Blinds as a way to achieve a higher degree of customization, but it was pretty useless in this regard (and overall, but maybe that's because it was the free trial). Any registry key or dll that could be used to achieve larger tray icons?

hi forum. i was wondering. as i am getting a new pc. i would like to give its User Interface a big overhaul. i was looking around on the internet for an option for me to customize the top bars from application windows. and possibly get custom loading bars as well. and i was considering rainmeter as well. but i hear some say that rainmeter is fairly demanding on pc resources eventually what i want to accomplish is a theme of black and green. maybe with a kind of pcb style. but i was wondering if there was a way to create my own theme or so to accomplish that. any help will be very much appreciated

Forgive the repitiveness but I've been following Linus' Windows 9.5 build and managed to pull it off on my custom built Gaming rig. But when I replicated it on my Samsung Laptop I found one problem; the minimize, exit, and restore buttons were still on their stupid flat Windows 10 version. This isn't an issue on my gaming rig though and as far as I recall I followed the instructions word for word with the exception of the Uxtheme launcher which didn't work so I had to use UltraUX Theme Patcher on both my Gaming rig and laptop. What am I missing here?

Disclaimer: I shared this story on Reddit, and wanted to share it with you guys as well. Seeing as we can all learn from my mistake. Anything red means it was for the original community (PCMR) I posted it on. Buckle in, this is a long one. Okay, so if you've ever gotten a new SSD, reinstalled Windows, or have a dual boot, you've most likely seen the Windows Boot Manager. You know, the one that looks like this. Most people want to get rid of it, but this thing literally saved me days of reinstalling everything. This story starts like most on this sub, with somebody being an idiot. That idiot was me. I love Vista. The part of my life I really spent interest in computers was during the Vista era, and my parents had a Vista laptop. I love the Aero glass UI, and wanted it on Windows 10. Now I know, there's Win8AeroGlass, but I couldn't stand the watermark. No free advertising on my PCs (apart from the countless number of stickers on my MacBook, obviously). I'm pretty deep into the customization world, and have theme patchers. I found a .msstyles file for Aero glass and I tried it out. That's when it all broke down. My PC started freaking out, then went to a black screen. Mouse still worked, but no Ctrl-Alt-Del, or anything like that. Crap. I quickly went to my phone to Google the solution, and there was! Go into the Windows Recovery Environment > Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > Command Prompt and delete the troublesome themes and replace them with the working Windows 10 one. Perfect! All I need to do is grab my USB, and... crap! My flash drive was currently used by some footage. And the footage was only on that flash drive. Plus, I couldn't even install Windows 10 onto it anyway because my brother wasn't letting me use my laptop MacBook was currently occupied. I decided to take a chance and hit my reset button to see if restarting would fix it. Long story short: It didn't. I restarted because now the only thing that appeared was the black screen. No login or anything. Great. But that's when I saw it. On the boot manager. Change defaults or other options. I clicked it, and hooray! I got to command prompt, and deleted the files, booted into safe mode to change the theme back, and... you've gotta be kidding me! Every attempt to login booted me back to the login screen. Great. I went back to command prompt, and it turns out that I didn't delete the resource folder. I did, booted to safe mode, and... I've never been so happy to see that copy of Castle Crashers on my desktop. I changed the theme, booted into normal Windows, and here I am, 15 minutes later. I'm not kidding, the first thing I did when it booted (other than fixing a couple things) was go to Reddit to tell this story. TD;LR: If you use Windows, use System Restore/Make backups and prepare for the worst.

Hey guys! Dont know if this is the right place to ask,but i am a huge retro lover and while playing some castlevania and wiki-ing stuff,i found that the castlevania wiki has a cool simon belmont mouse pointer on their website https://castlevania.fandom.com/wiki/Castlevania:_Aria_of_Sorrow I tried searching for one on websites which let us download custom mouse pointers but i couldnt find any which was the same or similar to that one. So i was wondering if somehow i could download/extract it from the website itself. Thanks in advance :)

What have you done to your keyboard that makes it your own? Show off those sweet double shot keycaps or that one board that has your fav Cherry MX switches, or maybe a board that you have bonded specially to.

Just made a simple seafoam green and black circular cursour. I personally like it, and I hope everyone else does too! copied from readme: ''Feel free to download share and edit as you like. These are simply three .cur cursours that I made for my own use and thought would be nice to share. To add these to your cursour folder, just drag and drop from the zip folder to C:\Windows\Cursors and allow admin access. Have fun! If you're interested in changing more than just the standard cursour, and would like me to make this an ENTIRE pack, message me detailing such, I'm TerrahBite on steam, and @TerrahMarrephoa on twitter. (If it's gonna have my name on it by Odin it's gonna have green. any other theme you'd like I'm happy to make however) I made these with ''OnlineCursorMaker'' at http://www.rw-designer.com/online-cursor-editor That's it really, thanks. later B) -TerrahBite'' TerrahCursor.7z THAT BE THE DOWNLOAD THERE YA STINKIN OAF

Hey guys, Here is another project we're working on over at Hydra: Flat Reservoirs As with all the other project we have developed and have received from other people to develop (our intention is to allow people to send us ideas, suggestions etc, help them develop the project and then let them earn from the idea they had), we'll be doing a crowdfunding sometimes near the end of November to start manufacturing them. These reservoirs allow for vast customization, as you can simply place a cut-out panel on top of them and have a custom made liquid routing of any shape you chose. We're planning on manufacturing these in a variety of sizes and shapes; for now these are the ones we'll be doing for placement in cases and desk solutions. They all have 4mm internal height and have been designed to work with pumps up to 24V 400x60mm 250x60mm 150x60mm We'll also have 3 models to be lodged in drive bays: 3 bay height 4 bay height 5 bay height I'll be updating the post as our testers (people from italian groups/forums, we are italian based) will send us pics. For now here are some shots we took of the longer model and others all under works.

Okay, so I kind of became bored with the dull look of the standard clock (and also its size) so I downloaded T-clock and set it up. The issue I have is that it won't open the standard calendar in Windows 10(which I really like). Instead..it opens this(if I set up calendar inside T-clock settings) Is it because that calendar appearance is bound to the default clock? And is there a workaround to this? Or it just can't be implemented? I say this because the project has been going on for a long time(I've used it a lot in Windows 7 and 8) and this feature missing suggest that it can't be done.

About an hour or so ago, I bought Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY from Bundle Stars, as the game was on sale for 75% off. Awesome I thought. Been wanting to get my own copy of this game on PC for a while. Once the Steam setup finished and and everything loaded, I went directly into the Options menu as any PC gamer would. After checking every possible menu, I did not find any option for toggle stealthing and/or crouching! How the hell did the developers miss this? Almost every PC game I've played has a crouch toggle. Toggle aiming is much less common unfortunately. The lack of this option makes this game borderline impossible for me to play. I have limited fine motor mobility as it is. I almost feel like I would have been better off purchasing this came directly through Steam even at the higher price point. Since I bought it through a third-party website, I cannot get my $15 back. I wish Valve had a way to let people deactivate their keys. At least that way I could give the key away to someone who can actually play it.

Hey there folks i just logged in with my Steam account to ask some questions i couldnt dig up anywhere because they are super specific! As you probably haven't guessed by the title, Im doing my first build. To be precise a Prodigy build. As the minute i saw that case i fell in love with the interior and exterior design. So i embarked on a massive quest, searching far and wide on the immortal plain known as the internet to find my parts. Since i'm on a tight budget as i am a rather poor fellow i came up with this. Case: Bitfenix Prodigy Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ CPU: AMD x4 860k GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 750 Ti 2gb PSU: HALE82 v2 550W NZXT* RAM: Kingston Fury White 8gb DDR3-1600 CL10 kit (2x4) *It used to be the corsair CX430M but ill explain why im probably going with the HALE later Now when i had added all this loot to my wheelbarrow and was about to press the Deliver said loot to your castle button. I felt that my loot wasnt quite glamarous enough understanding the full consequences of me pimping my ride i looked up ancient forums. Which contained information on LEDS, painting your gpu, and different colors with blue LEDS. Since i love myself some aesthetics i settled for this extra list of stuff A windowed side panel for my prodigy 2x 120mm blue led strips from bitfenix alchemy heat resistant spray paint for my gpu's shell Enermax ETS-T40-W Then a few days after this i saw that bitfenix also has sleeved cables So i thought well let's go with a Modular PSU then and make it white to go even better with the whole build And know i am hopelessly stuck as to choose the best color for the cables as i dont know how blue would look and i dont want to overkill it with too much white so here i am wondering which color of sleeved cables i want (ps. i have a HDD laying around so its not missing) If you have any suggestions or advice on the total build then please, do tell!
