A pretty epic victory for the intrusive thoughts if i say so my self, probably one of the biggest warcrimes commited against the luthier community, but the end result is kinda cool, not gonna lie. It turned out way better than ive ever hoped it would, looks cool, does guitar stuff and it also plays games, unlimited games, but the question remains... will this guitar run or play crisis?

Budget (including currency): Approx 1500 Euros (but that would ideally include the Monitor, and possibly Keyboard and Mouse) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Primarily used for Gaming (LOL, Valorant, Hogwarts Legacy, Binding of Isaac, GTA), Watching Movies. The build is for my gf, she was debating getting a new laptop but would only use it for games so I convinced her to consider a Desktop, her conditions were... Small Form Factor and a Pink and White aesthetic and a cute mechanical keyboard. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have come up with two builds (the only differences being the CPU and Motherboards) and inserted them below. My big point of concern is if anyone might know a better monitor for a low price, also what CPU/motherboard combo yall might recommend cause I honestly am not so sure I made a good choice with my selections. if this were for me I think id have just pulled the trigger and gone with my gut but its for someone else who will not be able to change parts out or diagnose problems if she encounters them so I really want to make sure that she'll have everything she needs and gets the most bang for her buck. Hello, I built my PC in october 2020 with brand new parts and about a 2 weeks ago I upgraded CPU cooling from air to AIO and case from SilentiumPC to Phanteks P500A also brand new, I don't want to buy anything second handed. But last few days my PC randomly freezes and after few seconds it turns off and on, but not like restarting, fans, lights from fans and everything turns off and after few seconds it turns on. Today it happened 2 times when playing Phasmofobia with my friends. It did not happen in any other game. And today I noticed extremely high Total Host Writes on HDD which I have in the system (see screenshot) but it works fine, I don't have any problems with it and it does not sound any strange. And second thing I noticed is that GLCKIO2 is causing some error, I saw that some malware can be hidden in it, but I'm not clicking on any "You won iPhone 12 Pro" AD or any ads like this or random links. And I have official license on Eset Antivirus. I tried chkdsk on the HDD but no error or bad sectors were found My system specs are: Case: Phanteks P500A Digital CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K (no OC) CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 Rev.3 (Fans connected separately through splitter) Mounted on top of the case MOBO: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super Gaming OC (Only factory OC) RAM: DDR4 2x8GB Gigabyte 2666 MHz CL16 Disks: Main SSD: Gigabyte 256GB NVMe Secondary SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB (For games) HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 256MB CACHE 7200rpm (For games and random stuff) This is the disk with weird Total Host Writes PSU: Gigabyte P550B I have it on Battery backup APC Back-Ups 700, but I have it connected through this from the start and the problems started only recently. CPU temps at max are 55°C in Cinebench R23 and GPU temps are at max 60°C in Heaven Benchmark. I'm sorry if I forgot any info or if my english is bad.. Thank you in advance for any help.

Budget: circa €3,000 Country: Ireland Use: graphics design, 4K video editing, 3D modeling and rendering. Adobe & Autodesk Hi All, My current MSI laptop is ancient and is overheating dramatically effecting performance with excel barely working :D About time I upgraded. Looking to build my first PC and need help. I have researched and come up with 2 builds, powerful and very powerful PC. I think! As this is my first build I have no clue if I am even on the right path and will it be enough power for required use. Not a gamer so that is not a priority. Key items: Overall performance for task at hand Compatibility of components Power supply capacity Custom water cooling. Will I benefit from it? Very dear stuff Also best case for each build. Budget (including currency): 700 CAD (When buying from amazon) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CSGO, Valorant, Rocket League, VR (Gorn, Super Hot, Beat Saber and many more), Heaviest game probably is GTA 5 or Destiny 2. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have the MOBO and CPU in the parts list and one personal HDD with about 700gb free. No peripherals are needed at the time. I am upgrading from a best buy prebuilt which I swapped out the MOBO and CPU on but everything is else is super cheap china parts from best buy. I can buy whenever although if there are any good deals on I might try and buy sooner. I currently play at 75hz and 75-100fps happily although hoping to upgrade to a 144hz monitor later. Hoping to buy all of it from amazon so my budget needs to be when checking out excluding shipping. I technically have a 1100-1200 CAD budget but need some money to buy a used Vive or Oculus if you have any recommendations for VR that's awesome too! Thanks for all the help in advance. Budget (including currency): preferably under $2K USD but will do at that price. Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Roblox, Minecraft, BeamNG, future games. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): CPU: Intel Core i7-11700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler master hyper 212 RGB Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 AORUS ULTRA ATX LGA1200 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory [x2] Storage: Crucial P2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive [x2] Graphics Card: MSI VENTUS 3X OC GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB Video Card Case: Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RM750x (2021) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Fans: NZXT AER RGB 2 52.44 CFM 120 mm Fan [x3] (one to replace the CPU fan) NZXT AER RGB 2 91.19 CFM 140 mm Fan [x2] PC Part Picker link I'm upgrading from a dying 1050 Ti and a i5-2400 with 20GB of ram (and 475gb of storage I think (its also a refurbished pc)) I like the looks of all the parts and have done quite a bit of research to make sure I'm not getting anything extremely bad. I might want to add RGB strips to it. I got 2 1920x1080 displays one is 75htz(side) the other is 165htz(main). I'm planning on getting all the parts together at the end of the school year (so around June). I'm curious if there is anything i should probably go for instead and if I should get a fan controller. no peripherals are needed.

Ok I recently upgraded the Graphics card of my PC from a GTX 1050ti to a RTX 2070 super. On the initial upgrade everything ran fine, but I ran into a bit of hang up. I was left with only one HDMI port on the graphics card, so I decided to install the GTX back in to act as 2nd hdmi port for my 2nd monitor. Now, I keep getting the "Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" message. I've triple checked all of my connections, went into the BIOS to see if the SSDs and HDD are being read (and they are...) but I still can't get it to boot! Can someone please help me?! Budget (including currency): Approx INR 100,000 (can go upto INR 110,000, only if required) Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Machine Learning/Deep Learning, gaming is not very important Other details: Hello everyone, I hope everyone's safe and doing well. I am from India (which is important because components here are expensive than USA) and I am planning on building a single GPU based, Machine Learning/Deep Learning (ML/DL) Budget Rig soon. I'm just starting into this field and I'll be upgrading my build as I gain experience. So far these are the specs I have chosen - CPU - Ryzen 5 3600X CPU Cooler - Wraith Spire Stock Cooler MOTHERBOARD - ASUS TUF GAMING X570 PLUS (Wi-Fi) ATX AM4 GPU - Asus GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB DUAL Advanced RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2x8GB) 3200 MHz SSD - Crucial P1 500 GB M.2 NVMe HDD - 3.5" 2TB Seagate Barracuda Compute 5400 RPM POWER SUPPLY - Corsair RM750 (2019) Fully Modular 80+ Gold (750 Watts) CABINET/CASE - Antec Dark Phantom DP501 ATX Mid Tower Case I know for a fact that this build will be able to game if I need it to, but gaming is not my priority. Also, I DON'T CARE ABOUT RGB (Don't hate me for this xD). I want my machine to perform well for ML/DL workload. This will be my first build, I am relatively new to this idea of doing custom builds, and I have learnt whatever I know through Linus Tech Tips build videos, so please forgive me if I'm asking a lot of questions. I have listed my doubts below below - CPU Is Ryen 5 3600X too much or should I go ahead with Ryzen 5 3600 and save some money to spend elsewhere (SSD, RAM, etc.). Also can i expect this build to last for 3-4 years (future-proof) with either of these 2 CPUs? CPU COOLER Is it okay to use the Wraith Spire Stock cooler instead of some other dedicated CPU Cooler? I want my build to last long so if there's any harm in using the stock cooler, I'll put in some extra money and get one. GPU Is it better to get a RTX 2060 Super instead and spend the money on other components like RAM and Storage for this particular workload? Would i be giving up a lot of performance in doing so? MOTHERBOARD The sole reason for buying an X570 Motherboard is because I can have the option to upgrade to a 4th Gen Ryzen CPU in the future. I want to know what other cheaper alternative I have if I decide to stick to the Ryzen 5 3600X/3600 CPUs, because then I wouldn't have to necessarily stick to a X570 Motherboard RAM - Which one's better for a 3200 MHz RAM? Corsair LPX Vengeance or G.SKill Ripjaws V? - For ML/DL workload, is it better to go for 32 GB (2x16GB) 2666 MHz RAM? Or should I just buy the 16 GB dual channel 3200 MHz that I mentioned above instead? - Can I put 24 GB Ram if I want to, with a kit of 2x8GB 3200 MHz + 1x8GB 3200 MHz (16 GB Dual channel + 8 GB single channel configuration)? - Is it advisable to just go with 16 GB 3200 MHz RAM in the beginning and add more RAM in the future? SSD & HDD - Does choosing a 5400 RPM drive compromise a significant amount of performance as compared to the 7200 RPM? - Or should I get a 256 GB SSD and spend money on a 7200 RPM HDD instead? - Is it necessary to go for a M.2 NVMe drive, or can I also go for a 2.5" SATA based SSD? PSU Is 750 Watt too much for a power supply? I might do some upgrades in the future, like a better SSD and more storage, and possibly, a new CPU (Ryzen 4th Gen) CABINET/CASE Should I go for Cooler Master Masterbox K501L RGB (ATX) Mid Tower Cabinet instead? That will be a bit cheaper for me, and I could spend some money elsewhere. Also is there any other better case that I can buy and something that is priced the same? Any other recommendations? I am willing to wait for a few months if components are expected to become a bit cheaper in the near future. Thanks a lot for the help!

I am looking at building my first desktop PC and have done some research and picked out these parts (look at list). I plan on using it for gaming, video editing, streaming and just general use. I sit basically right on budget too, so not looking to upgrade many parts without downgrade others. Also i want to be able to play AAA games. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/pW3jr7 (Part List)

This is my first PC build and I was wondering if I should cut down on anything or add anything. I mostly play Csgo, GTA5, and a few source games. I also do some video editing with Adobe Applications and Ableton Live for audio editing. I'm looking to use this PC for around 7-8 years so I need upgradability and longevity. The size of the PC has to be mITX or mATX because I don't have much desk or floor space. My Budget is $1200-$1500 after tax in Canadian Dollars. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/qTTHm8 Thanks for any help, Jeff.

So i am looking to make a PC recently, but I didn't know what parts to choose. I came across this article by this site recently that suggests a really cool build under $650 USD. It says that it will be a pretty nice system for running games. https://developersung.wixsite.com/techddict/blog/the-best-pc-you-can-build-for-under-650-usd Is this a good build? Should I build this PC?

So this is probably a bad idea I know, but I'm gutting my craptop because its old and slow and I want to rebuild it. Its pretty big and thick. I'm mounting my fan case for additional width making it 2" thick and 15" to 17" wide. So I'm starting off hunting a low profile mother board. It needs to have HDMI out, USB 3.0, Ram support for at least 16 gigs, Support for an I7 Cpu, and support for an External Graphics card. Dedicated audio out and in would be a bonus. Support for my laptops soon to be touchscreen a must. I don't know much about building PCs. I helped build one once when I was a kid and I watched a bunch of youtube on the subject (Mostly linus tech tips of course). After a quick google search I think I found one that works http://www.bcmcom.com/bcm_product_MX110HD.htm But I'm unsure if it supports external graphics or my laptop screen. Any and all advice would be appreciated thanks And assuming it works and turns out cool I'll be sure to make a post of the finished build thanking all who assisted

Hello everyone, About a month ago, I ordered a custom build gaming pc at my local hardware and software store (specs below) I have only played it to test it's performance and I noticed it was vastly under performing on several games, even tho the build scored really high on benchmarks. I have an "older" gaming pc to compare to (specs also below) which performs way better then my new build, which is kind of upsetting for the price, when I sent the rig back to the store for the first time I got an email saying the RTX2080ti (msi) had overheated and was basically rendered broken because of it, even tho I spend Less then 4h (not straight) on the pc testing games like Ac 3 remastered and battlefield V (which was marketed for the RTX series after all) I didn't do anything to it other then that. So they replaced my card with a brand new one, after receiving the pc again, and installing it at home the problem appeared to be the same, so we went back and got referred to a small business that builds Pc's and was in direct contact with MSI. So we looked at every aspect of the pc and found out that the screen was one big culprit already, It's an Acer predator with build in G-sync and 240 Hz. after changing the screen with a non gaming one with 60Hz, the pc seemed to perform a lot better but still not as expected and still had lot's of lag in games like bfv And ac 3 remastered, so they ordered another replacement card because we saw that the card became burning hot (which was not normal apparently) Now guess what, the PC is still performing way worse then my older rig so something has to be wrong here unless I've been scammed by MSI-NVIDIA and INTEL for buying their hardware. Please if you could help me out here, I've been stuck now for several weeks not figuring this issue out with multiple people, and the rig cost me €5000 (which was more then half of my savings) I also did the bottleneck test on PCbuilds and it recommended a second RTX 2080ti because the processor is way to powerfull for it. Could it be that simple? If there's anything information wise you need to help me please ask and I'll try and provide it for you! Specs of the new rig: Geforce RTX 2080ti driver version 441.20 Intel core I9-9980XE CPU @ 3.00Ghz 31.69 GB RAM 1920x1080 240Hz Specs of the "older" rig: GTX1080ti driver version 441.20 Intel Core I7-8700K CPU @ 3.70 Ghz 15.96 GB RAM 1920x1080 60Hz

So hey guys! I've been searching alot about custom PCs and on how to build them. This is my plan/road to making my own custom build (kinda) gaming PC. My budget : 800€ / 900€ (890 to 1000 USA dollars) i live in europe. This doesn't include the price of the monitors, mouse and keyboard. My aim : My PC will mostly be used for gaming: (Loads of) CS:GO Skyrim and many others (like Watchdogs, l.a noire and some others...) I will also use it for some (light/fun) video editing for youtube (I might start doing some montages of csgo gameplay, but im not quite sure yet. ), I will also do school work and other kind of 'serious business' but not too much. I will be using 2, 1080p, monitors and yeah... I dont really know. I haven't figured a case for myself, but I'd like it to be on the table instead of like the usual place which is under, so it can be a microATX (I know its the term for motherboards but I just can't remember the name) format , but Im probably gonna stick with a ATX MIDTower. My plan (could need some tips) So I've done most of my research with pcpartpicker.com and youtube, and this is what I basically have in mind = CPU - for the CPU, I was thinking about getting an intel i5. Motherboard - I have literally no idea, i just think it needs to be ATX and be compatible with like the graphics card and the CPU .. I dont really know. Should be around : 80 - 130€ RAM - im getting 2×8GB Ram. Should be around: 50 - 75€ GPU - so this is probably one of the most important part of my build and I ended up with 2(3) cards after researching - radeon r9 380 (or the NVIDIA GeForce gtx 970 (or 960). Should be around : 200 - 250€ Im gonna be having 1TB, hard-drive, of space and yeah... Idk. Should be around : 40 -55€ My power needed according to pcpartpicker should be like i guess 400W but that sounds really. Im not sure (link to my pcpartppcpartpicker later) should be around: 50 - 75€ Like I said I have no idea what case I want, I know I want it to look nice, and not like one of those grey/black cases or like a normal pc you'd have in school or something, I'd like something kinda futuristic or just something not super generic (like the 'CORSAIR 200R ATX mid-tower' which looks like an upgraded version of the computer cases I had in my secondary), and preferably something with a side panel (not quite sure tho). Should be around : 50 - 100€ As for the CPU cooler, I'm not sure it should be around : 20-45€ Help and tips would be greatly appriciated! Link: Some of these I just chose randomly because I wasn't sure.

I've used a mac for the past 7 years but I want to switch to a custom windows machine & I'm doing the part selection for my first build. My budget is around 3,000 (I could maybe go slightly higher). I'm going to use it mostly for work (my day job is video production) and gaming. Here is a link to what I have so far on PcPartPicker (note the PSU is just a fill in at the moment. It's the brand I want but I'm under the impression that it's too early to know how many watts I'll need) - http://pcpartpicker.com/list/WTXjcc My question is that given that my intended use for this build is video work (and probably a good amount of games), does anyone have any motherboard sudgestions that would be compatible/optimal with my current list or could someone give me a good place to start for the kind of board I'll need? unlike graphics cards, motherboard brands feel like they have changed so much in the past 7 years that I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it all. I also wouldn't turn down any other general critiques of my current parts picked. I really appreciate any advice/help with this!
