  1. These are some renderings of a case I am designing it is almost out of cad. I have been doing some fabrication test runs for critical features. It is modern, minimalist and made almost entirely of wood (probably going with Bamboo lumber). I simulated a 4090 and the hottest CPU I could find and it just barely can handle it, in an 80F room. (Not that i'd put those in it, I'v just got a Ryzen 3600 & RTX 3070). I'll have to run an actual flow sim not just do the ideal heat transfer but i'm really trying to keep the fans just to the bottom and the back to keep the minimalist and simple aesthetic. I also want to redesign the fan greats. They are being made on a CNC router anyways so anything that can be cut out with say a 1/8 inch radius ball end mill is possible (Input welcome). I think it will be pretty easy to add Hard drive and SSD mounts, but they are hardly required these days with m.2 storage so cheep OH. I still need to figure out if i'll be doing a glass or solid wood side panel. The side panel will be magnetically attached, no hinges and a curved 2 inch handle hole on the front seam to get into it. or a simple small fabric tab if I go for the glass. Not sure which I will go for. I think the manufacturing cost will be about $400 ($300 material, $100 labor) maybe more if I do the glass (I haven't found a glass manufacturer or vendor yet. But i'v talked with a local wood craftsman about making it sounds like the labor will be about $100 (Still way cheeper than buying all the required tools myself) I also need to figure out what the heck I am doing with the rear panel IO shield. It is kinda a tough situation, they are built to clip into sheet metal and the thick wood does not lend itself to that. I could machine down a thin lip to emulate the sheet metal but not 100% sure it will work. I can't seem to find a blank IO shield online to test this idea out on. Any help on the IO shield would be great! I think I have the PCIE slots figured out even though they are not modeled here yet. For the cable management I am planning to make a few stand off poles with 1/8inch bamboo plate on them to hide and route the cables under. So, tell me what you think? Please read the above thoroughly before asking (what about this feature) any additions or solutions to existing problems come to mind? Alot of time has gone into this and I really want it to be a beautiful professional product (honestly 1/2 thought about commercializing it but its kinda expensive af lol). Thanks for your help! 2. Intel Core i5-6500 Processor watercooled 120mm EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H110M-E/M.2 2X8,192 MB G.Skill DDR4 @ 2,132 MHz lexar 512 g nvme + lexar 512g sata thermaltake 750W full size wi-fi and bluetooth front(side)panel usb, digital audio, e-sata argb controler and fans custom case I'm new on the forum from Montréal area. Just wanted to show you guys a little project I made for a young man who just got into the PC world. He had an Xbox for a while but he wanted to play with his dad who is a pc gamer. Since I used to build pcs 15+ years ago, They asked me if I could help them find an affordable pc for him to buy. So I did. Behold the 20mike-mike linked ammobox-pc. All parts have an history but I will try to keep it short and sweet. First need was for a compact low cost PC with high portability so keep that in mind. The case is a 32round 20mm inert linked projectile for grenade launcher with a swivel/removable cover. Found it under 20bucks at the local Princess auto. I scavenged the motherboard tray and accessories from an old antec sonata I had lying around. I snipped off some aeration and fan grills in the scavenging process witch I riveted to the ammo-box for better ventilation. Front panel switches are "try-me" packages switches from Canadian tire automotive LED strips. I already had a good full sized power supply lying around so I managed to fit it internally with an extension to the back panel. The switch is easily accessible under the hood next to the ARGB controller switch. The processor/mobo/ram where my latest computer I just upgraded witch I didn't had use for. It previously had a gtx760 I rocked until recently. I got the videocard from a motorcyclist fellow I helped numerous time with mechanical tips and repairs. He gladly gave it to me as I promised to include it for cheap to the little guy's build. For christmas, I personally added the ARGB fans and controler + the sata drive to double his storage. Let's spare the bandwidth of his parents by having a bigger game library to play with his friends and a christmas light party to light up the kid's eyes on reveal! It did well I guaranty! Pictures are from the kitchen table as it was delivered to the happy new owner (not pictured). Those peripherals are temporary used to update, download game and test the pc. He ordered his own screen/keyboard/mouse setup. With the pc comes infinite tech support until I die. I'm not up to date so much but I still have some old school tricks down my sleeve. How does it perform you ask? It scored 5th overall canadian score in firestrike for similar hardware with an average 74C on the gpu and 62C on the cpu . Not too bad for a small form factor pc. If it qualify as so? what do you guys think?
  3. Hi! My name is Damjan and I want to show the World what I'm working on! My current self-isolation situation is an excellent excuse to start a new project: A LEGO Technic built PC case! Because am not a person who could concisely modify a LEGO brick (there is a special place in hell for people who would), I decided to 3D print my own bricks which would serve as an interface between computer components and real LEGO bricks. I expect two challenges: Structural integrity: To properly mount and support heavy PC components I decided to build mostly with Technic bricks. I have quite some experience with that (I participate in LEGO Truck Trial races, Google it) so with some careful planning that should not be a problem. Heat: My "production" (not prototypes) 3D printed bricks will be made out of the same material as LEGO bricks - the ABS plastic which starts deforming at around ~80°C. No computer component should reach this temperature, but I will make sure everything is ventilated properly anyway. The heat is the reason I'm starting with PC fan mounts: I also made some hard drive and SSD mounts: I welcome you to join me on this adventure! Updates will follow soon. Cheers!
  4. I'm curious if anyone has used a case prototyper (like Protocase.com) and 3D printers to make a computer that looks like an old IBM PS/2 computer but houses standard ATX components so they can have a stealth PC? I attached an image of what I am trying to decide if I should try and make.
  5. I recently thought of an idea, why not make an LTT themed case. If you have any ideas of what to put on the case tell me because I will apply them(unless it's inappropriate). I searched for similar things and found nothing, so if someone else also made a thread about something related to this im sorry.
  6. Hello guys, I have my pc built inside SILENT BASE 801 and I love that case but this thing is huge which wasn't a problem till recently. I moved to a smaller apartment and had to downsize my pc desk so now that beautiful case is a problem and in a way. My fix for a problem is to stuff components inside the drawers of my IKEA Alex drawer element. I did some research on the subject on forum but those post are old. So I have a few examples of how that would come together but would like the input of more experienced enthusiasts Some guidelines about design: -silence and thermals would be a top priority -couldn't care less about RGB fans and such things (i know I have RGB on the motherboard and RAM but not by choice) -I own a 3d printer (310mmx310mm) so brackets, fan ducts, and fan grills wouldn't be a problem to make -do not want to change any components (just upgraded CPU and RAM) -open to adding some fans if needed Things I'm working with and are at my disposal: -2x be quiet pure wings 2 140 mm -1x be quiet pure wings 2 120 mm -CORSAIR Hydro Series H100x Let's start with some examples I came up with (keep in mind this was put together with CAD files I was able to find online, dimensionally accurate or slightly bigger than my components) : 1. This example is with 2 front intake 140 be quiet fans and one 120 be quiet fan is missing on top of the 240mm radiator as the exhaust on the picture It could be tight fit in this configuration. And one thing that bothers me here is that all that warm air from GPU, Drives and MOBO would mostly go through CPU radiator but I only have to sacrifice 2 drawers 2. This one is more like traditional PC case orientation which would give me more room to work with and to mount drives ( HDDs and SSDs are not in picture since they can be mounted basically anywhere) Still woried about all that hot air going throu CPU radiator mostly, and 3 drawers are taken by pc 3. Adding one extra 140mm fan for intake to match 3x120 mm on exaust which should in theory give me positive pressure situation 4.Masive 6 x 140 mm front fan cluster with CPU radiator and 2 x 120mm fans as exaust This config could give me option to ramp down those fans and maybe achiev lower noise lvls but not sure if exaust fans would be enough. Maybe adding more 120 mm exaust fans ? So there are endless variations of the above configs, moving this fan here or there, and so on. And that's the part where I need help from you. And I'm not trying to make an overkill build ( I know that 6x140mm fans look cool on the front with some custom 3d printed grill but if not necessary I would rather save 50€ in new fans) so feel free to be brutally honest. Also if you have any recommendations on where and which cables to get for the front io feel free to share (need like 2 USBs and power/reset buttons) Thanks for your time
  7. Greetings! Long time channel fan, first time forum poster. Earlier today in one of the FB fan groups, someone posted this image, So I thought to myself, "I can do that!" I have this busted up guitar, neck is warped, horribly taken care of by the previous owner (so much so he just gave it to me), so I decided, what the hell. I'd been planning to sell my buddy spare PC parts that came from my last big upgrade at a decent first gaming pc (2nd gen ryzen and a 1060 6gb), and I thought, hell, I could make it special for him too! So this is a picture of what I have right now, everything is kinda dropped in there right now, and that is not the PSU i intend to use, i just dropped it in because I know it's a chunky one, and if that'll fit, a more modern and smaller one defo would. Now, here's my current problems and how I plan to overcome them: Holes I'll have to drill/cut a few. This is gonna be for everything from ventilation to IO, speaking of which, Ventilation I want to, if i can, cut precise holes where the graphics card fans are. I want to cut one out too at the back for the PSU to ventilate. Same for the CPU too, obviously. Gonna buy a bunch of mesh too so I can mitigate the dust it's most likely gonna collect too. I/O Extensions. Lots of extensions. I'm going to try get a bunch of low profile right angle extensions for as much of the IO as I can and lead them through to the back or sides. As with most custom cases, reaching the IO might be awkward but they'll defo be more awkward if they're just coming out the bottom, like on the first pic in the post. Mounting This is probably my biggest concern and where I'm gonna be requesting help from some of you folks. I need to figure out a good way to basically make it so i don't short the motherboard. Should I literally just buy some extra standoffs? If that's all I have to do, That's cool. Mounting the PSU might be a challenge too since it's probably going to be the heaviest thing in the system, I might have to fabricate some kind of bracket to hold it. For the graphics card, I plan on taking the screws out of the face of the shroud and screwing the face of the guitar to the shroud with some longer screws, so the graphics card will be held onto the face of the guitar rather than resting on the motherboard (as it's doing in the pic). This will make opening the case a bit awkward, but given what I have, I think it's the only reasonable course of action. So that's it! I've done all I can do physically today, and I just need to make a shopping list. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Hello, My name is Michael, but I go by High Voltage anymore....so, I was browsing the internet and found that this site, which I'd never taken the time to register an account on till today after about a year knowing of this site, had articles about people asking this same thing here, that being about wooden pc cases....well, My situation is a tad unique in respects to what I'm after and the cost efficiency of a wooden hand made case being too sweet a deal to possibly just pass up as "not going to do it for this or that reason" because the alternatives that would work for what I'm after (mainly space savings by popping two full sized pc systems into a single case, and the storage drive bay requirements for a high density backup server needing something far out of my cost afordability range) being toooo perfect to not consider a custom hand made case, at which point something using mdf board is just perfect for affordability to me. soo, my curiosity is a few of the following things: 1. does anyone know of any thermal simulation software (free and or open source) that one could run either in a windows vm, or on linux natively, to be able to test the termal dynamics of any possible case/fan cooling setup I could try and make a 3d mockup prototype of before sitting down, buying the materials and making the thing before I know if it would even be a viable temperature setup option? 2. does anyone have any recommendations for how to make a dual system single case design for a HUGELY populated (disk wise) storage server for down the road as I add more drives to the thing? because it would have a high end backup server of my own building with the eventual possibility of 20+ hdds, AND a high end editing rig for video and audio editing for podcasts and other video projects I manage (note, 20 core xeon cpu and eventually dual 1080ti's and to begin with dual 970s for the gpus once that system is built finally).....so, cooling and temperature simulations are a hugely requested helpful plus to test the thermals of these two systems 3. the cases I have looked at and was originally pricing out at doing prior to thinking on building the case by hand out of mdf board, were these: http://www.mountainmods.com/ascension-duality-mirror-black-powder-coat-original-top-p-463.html http://www.mountainmods.com/ascension-cyo-custom-computer-case-p-483.html http://www.mountainmods.com/u2-ufo-duality-mirror-black-powder-coat-solid-top-p-390.html the original design idea for the system to have both computer systems inside of were based on those, and the original case labs Magnum tx10-D Dual pc system, that has since been discontinued, but those were the inspiration for this idea for a pc case, however I'd like to take these designs and flip them on their head a tad, and instead make them in place of dual vertical pc systems, make it a dual horizontal pc system for the case, using either the 120mm fans on those cases as hard drive fan bays, or make dedicated vertical hard drive cages tower style with dedicated fans in front of them, maybe use a 3x 5.25 bay to 5x 3.5 hdd bay adapter style thing for hot swap capabilities with dedicated fans, but hot swap is not a requirement for me, more so the cooling is than the hot swap abilities, but thats for later either way, I just need some thoughts on what all you guys think I should try to do, given the situation here... anyone able to bounce some ideas for possible design design attempts around with me please?? budget is as low as possible, preferably not much more than 100-200$ USD monitors are not an issue at all either, the backup server will be using a spare quadro card I have lying in a drawer, and the editing server will use either some spare 970s in that same drawer for now and eventually have the 1080tis for hardware accelerated gpu rendering, monitors range in sizes and resolutions that I have at my disposal so thats not an issue either nor can I pinpoint the exact resolution they will be using and as for the peripherals, I have all of those as well in storage for spares, keyboards and mice. as for the why I'm upgrading, I'm not really, just re-purposing spare parts I have at my disposal for the xeon cpu, ram, and motherboard as well as the other spare parts. I'd be very much appreciative if someone could help me with that...
  9. Hi! I´ve always thought about building my own case, because what´s on the market is mostly pretty bulky, or mini-itx. So what about instead the traditional one chamber case, make a water cooled two chamber one. Of course, no matter how you do it, you lose the DVD drive, and (if it fits not behind the Mainboard) the HDD. Also no full ATX PSU, max SFX-L. PCIE extensions have to be pre-routed, and only slim PSU cables are possible. But it doesn't end there: if it should be really smaller, you have to go with short GPU's (and if you chose two, it´s possibly not Nvidia, because of the SLI bridge) so they don't overhang the big radiator. So what do you think about it? Have you ideas to improve this concept? Or have you even built your own case? PS: The different colors of the tubes represent the expected temperatures and I just wanted to have them done, so they look awful.
  10. For anyone out there who's gearing up to design their own case, but not sure where to start, Protocase's Christa (our Engineering and Design Services manager) has published a new blog post that goes over all of the basics of enclosure design. She covers metal selection, bending, cutouts/fasteners, welding and finishing. Hoping it'll be helpful for newcomers to designing custom cases. Have a read, and let me know if you have any feedback - good or bad.
  11. Just posting this to see people's thoughts on it and hopefully calms me down a little. So recently I had a very particular want for a case that no case manufacturer had/is producing, so I figured "What the hey, I'll design a case myself." I had drawn out some plans in my engineering notebook and decided I needed to actually design it in some program. I downloaded a free trial of Autodesk Inventor 2017 Pro and started to work. I had made a rough outline within a few hours. I was really happy with it and I decided that I wanted to refine it some more. Next thing I know I'm on formfactors.org looking at Mini-ITX motherboards and where screws should go, googling how big the holes are for motherboard standoffs, how thick the walls of most cases are, what material I should make it out of, and what kind of threads each screw uses. I have spent hours on this thing and I CANT STOP! I'm only 15 years old and I'm thinking of case designs left and right. It's gotten to the point where I can't sleep. I feel like this stuff is driving me insane! I'm thinking of ideas of cases that haven't been made before and I'm astounded at the things I can come up with. I have no clue what I'm going to do about this and whether or not it will subside. All I can hope for is that this either turns into a career or that it goes away eventually. Pictures of the case I designed, it's Just a rough outline still, need to make it look a lot better, but functionally (for the most part), it's complete. Edit: Is this normal at all? I can't imagine it is, maybe someone else has had this process before? Edit2: This has been going on for multiple nights, the case I started designing a few days ago and I have had all these new Ideas in-between then.

  13. I have been kicking this idea around for a few weeks, but last night I sat down and actually did put something on paper, and I’m looking for some feedback from you guys. As a HTC Vive owner I have been lugging my desktop tower around to give Vive demos to family and friends. This is obviously not a great solution and I know there are VR ready laptops out there but I had an idea for a different solution. My idea was to build a computer into a pelican case that also has room to store all of the Vive parts. So I came up with some parameters for this project. 1. Must be mobile enough to fit into someone’s car for transport. 2. Must be able to store everything needed to run the Vive. 3. Minimal setup once at location. 4. One Power input via D-Plug or Edison lead coming out of the case. 5. Durable enough to be moving around constantly. 6. Easily up-gradable. 7. Included monitor and additional Video output for plugging into external displays if necessary. Hardware I want to be able to build this system as cheaply as possible with the ability to upgrade later so I spec’d an Intel i5 a Micro ATX motherboard 16GB of RAM and a modest 500w power supply. I have an original GTX Titan laying around from before I upgrade my primary machine so I threw that in there. For storage I’m just going to throw in a 500GB or 1TB SSD. · Intel Core i5-4590 3.5 Quad Core · MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard · 16GB DDR3 Memory · 500GB to 1TB SSD · 4x 120mm Fans I created a wiring diagram so I could wrap my head around all the hardware and how it needs to connect together so I could keep that in mind while placing the components in the case. Case Since I want this to be mobile and durable I’m looking at a Pelican Storm case. After throwing all of the hardware I had chosen into Sketchup I modeled the foam inserts from the original Vive case and put it all together to figure out what size case I need. I settled on a case from Casebuilder.com that matched my space requirements nicely. http://www.mycasebuilder.com/skb-3i-3019-12-custom-foam-case.html It’s not small but it has plenty of latches, and can roll so I think it will work nicely. I started modeling out all the foam, added a power strip to fulfill my 1 power plug criteria and put in a faceplate to hold the fans and make the unit a bit cleaner when in use. I added a generic monitor model to the top of the case that will hopefully be mounted in the lid. I added a couple places underneath and next to the foam inserts for storage of other accessories (mouse, Xbox controller, lighthouse power cables). I want to cut as few holes in the exterior of the case as possible but I realize that makes ventilation difficult. I have 4 fans on the faceplate the idea is for the three in the back to be intakes and the one in the front to be exhaust. Since I only need a couple specific ports available when the system is in use the motherboard/graphics card IO is hidden under the faceplate and would be plugged directly into the correct hardware under the faceplate. The Vive breakout box sits flush with the faceplate for easy access, and I want to also have a custom IO plate for HDMI, USB, power button, and status lights. Here is the part where I want some feedback. I have built a couple of computers from scratch before but this is a whole different beast. I still have a lot of things to work out but I wanted to see what you guys think. My biggest concern is how I’m going to mount all the hardware. I want the case to be foam lined for durability but then how do I mount the motherboard and graphics card? Should I put long studs through the foam and bolted to the case, or do I somehow attach it to the foam itself? I know that the graphics card is going to need some sort of support, or it may need to be moved away from the motherboard with a PCIE extender. I think the monitor can be mounted to the lid using the Vesa holes bolted directly to the case. I want your guy’s help on this here is a dropbox with all my files so you can take a look.(Mods if this is against policy please remove, I didn't know of a better way to share the files) I look forward to your ideas and comments.
  14. Hello, i'm in the process of making a mini-itx build for the convenience of going on trips and stuff, it'll also be able to handle my day-to-day gaming and photo rendering. I want the case to really pop, aesthetic-wise, and i know there isn't really a good way to make a mini-itx build look good, but I really want to try. I've always been interested in Brock Hofer's art, and i'm thinking about customizing the Fractal Design Node 304 case with the hyper beast design from CS:GO, i'm just not sure how to go about it. I could do a paint job on the case, but I don't think it would come out good and i'm a terrible artist haha. I want it to look glossy like the H440 Hyper Beast edition, so i'm thinking about painting it or doing some kind of paper wrap with holes cut out for the IO and stuff.
  15. Hi everyone, I wanted to know if anyone here had any input on where it would be a good website to possible make a custom case, right now I am looking at http://www.case-custom.com/, but if you all have any other suggestions they will be welcome. Also it's for an android phone(S7) so any websites with iPhone only cases is a no go obviously.
  16. Hello LTT forum community!!! This is the build i made with a custom case mod, i hope you enjoy the post that its meant to inspire more people to do something custom , maybe give some ideas also. The photos that you will see are not very crisp and nice, but i think i did my best , and apologize for the lack of quality upfront! Here we go ... My pc was from 2007 era, ancient indeed , so i gather up money to get a new one, but i wanted to build up the case as well so i can make it pretty, best for cooling, silent as hell and with all the features i would like to see in a case. this was my pc and the case i used to build my mod on. As you can see pretty old and basic stuff, this case might have costed around 25 euro at that time , the brand is Apevia , if you heard of it... So next step was to dismantle the pc and the case As soon as i did that , i proceed to plan on my mod, using paper rulers and schematics ! I got my plan right and made a paper replica of what my pc would look like after the mod, here you can see it As you can see i build a power supply shroud , an hdd/ ssd cage , and an extended base in which i will house 3 140mm fans, usb 3/2 and audio i/O and also some digital thermometers. in the fornt panel another 140m fan as you can see which will drive air to the cpu cooler. After that i packed my stuff and gone to my friends metal workshop to make the paper parts out of metal.
  17. Hi everyone, I have an HP Envy 15 from 2014, what I would like to do, is move my laptop motherboard into a desktop case. I have searched online and not a lot that can help, in fact there is very little on the topic. Any help ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  18. I am currently in the process of planning a new build, and I have decided to design and build my own case, I have attached to this post various sketches I have drawn up on my phone, each one is labelled, some of the designs have multiple sketches, let me know what you guys/gals think, by the way this is my first post so apologies for any issues
  19. Hello everyone, Me and my f@cked up buddy we will start a huge project building our own pc case as "tidy" as possible for watercool, 2 gpu etc etc etc.... So I was thinking if we can find some general components as a solidwork parts so we can just implement them instead of designing them. I know that @TaranLMG did some project with 3D printing. I don't want to spent 3 months just to make all the part (I don't really mind if they are not in the exact shape). Thank you very much and I hope I will have a positive response!
  20. Greetings LTT forum from Denmark My name is Karl, and I am a dirt poor gaming and tech enthusiast, and I am building a franken-PC. The premise og the build is "everything must be free, preferably from the dumpster", and so I have been dumpster diving, at school and at home (with permission, otherwise its illegal here). This has resulted in a selection of mismatched parts in all kinds of quality, and a lot of issues along the way. After years of using my almost-finished PC (most of the time, outside of a case), I finally have all the parts I need to build it, BUT my PSU is not powerful enough. So I am going full Austin Evans on this, and using 2 PSU's, and here, my question to you arises. How should I configure the PSUs, in terms of which powers what? 1PSU for GPUs and 1 for the rest ? And I have some molex-->6-pin converters which I am planning to use, but I am fresh out of molexes, also need one for the pump, so thinking of splicing some myself, and using other outputs from PSU1 (see below). i know I should be able to use sata power, but should I rather use some outputs from the 24-pin? which I will not need as I am using PSU2 for the motherboard and CPU (logistics). Which wires to grap? Case: No clue, some office dell, with proprietary layout, not even screw holes fitted for standard motherboards. PSU1:HP-D2701C0 max power 270W PSU2:DELL L305P-00 max power 305W HDD (mass storage): Samsung HD204UI 2TB SSD (boot and fav games): Samsung 128GB slate SSD MMDOE28G5MPP 0VAD1 2.5'' CPU: intel i7 2600s GPU1: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/EN8800GTGHTDP512M/specifications/ GPU2: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/EN8800GTSHTDP512M/specifications/ water cooler: XSpc delta (? no clue, says on the bloc, think this was part of a bloc, rad, pump/res package) (Also, attached the water block, Linus-Style, thanks for inspiration!) Would appreciate any and all inputs, will do some painting, and will add acrylic slabs on the front, back and top, which I am thinking of sanding, and adding white LEDs behind, have done same under motherboard and under SSD. Please note that I have not had access to any propper tools (besides drill, pits, and a big-ass angle grinder, så the edges are kind of rough.. part of the hobo look I am going for. Really enjoying collecting bits and pieces (also in general), and enjoying the build, so if it crashes and burns so be it =), so I am willing to experiment with it. Picture related: build in progress, although quite a bit of ways off from finished =). Please let me know if any questions should arise =) kind regards, and looking forward to hearing from you. -Karl
  21. I am building a custom case, similar to Linus' desk PC, but I don't have the resources or the money he had, therefore I cannot afford water cooling. I even researched craigslist and ebay but to no avail. I settled for a buying a better cpu cooler: the Cryorig H7, and am going for 3 intake and 3 exhaust fans. Do you think that will be enough for this kind of build? I am using a GTX 960 so there is literally no point in trying to cool the GPU anyway. On the topic of fans, how will I be able to power the case fans? They will be on either side of the table. I am using the SilverStone Fan hub, but that doesn't solve the problem I'm having. I will attach the plans for my table below. Any help will be appreciated.
  22. Trying to figure what I would like etched into the side of my case. I was thinking some sort of galaxy like m 64 or maybe m 104. Something high contrast that I can send in a jpeg file.
  23. Thinking of building a water cooled PC in a motorcycle chassis. Use heavy duty automotive hoses, and wiring harness, etc. Mount the radiator where you would on the motorcycle. Mount the power supply underneath the seat. Have RBG lighting for the head light and tail lights. Doesn’t have to be big neither, could use one of them pocket motorcycles, as a base chassis.
  24. Hey Guys, I'm a newbie to custom design and modify of hardware as I have only ever built systems they way their intended and bought cases. I have this really wacky idea to take out my second laptop from its case and pretty much just stick it on a piece of plywood and customize it from there. The reason is that the system itself struggles heavily with cooling and I would really like to do something like hook up a liquid cooler to the CPU. Another idea was to get an external GPU on the wood as well so I can put my own full-size card. I'm worried about a few things. Is it compatible, Dust and having an "open case" and whether or not this is just a really bad idea. Just a heads up this is not some rig that I'm trying to save money by using the old laptop motherboard but more of a project. I would also like to add more ram but all the dims I think are taken up. If I could either get told how much of a bad idea this is or a few tips it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
