Hi all, I was thinking of using custom cables for my existing build, the stock cables are okay but like it bugs me as it just doesn't look as neat even though I have done the best cable management I can, so I was thinking of getting some custom cables, still debating if I should go for cables that go into the psu or extensions. Ideally would be direct cables and the cable management room is already pretty minimum, so I wouldn't want to deal with longer cables. Any suggestions? These are some I found that I can get over here in Singapore. https://www.formulamod.com/formulamod-corsair-fully-modular-psu-cable-kit-18awg-sleeved-kit-for-corsair-modular-psu-fm-bzmz-please-check-compatibility-p3030478.html https://www.formulamod.com/formulamod-nck2-series-psu-extension-cable-kit-solid-color-cable-mix-combo-300mm-atx24pin-pci-e8pin-cpu8pin-with-combs-p3472691.html EDIT: Also random but is the Corsair RM650 and 650i cables compatible? Also FYI tryna go for orange or orange-black to match the build, since the mobo and gpu both have orange and black on it, thanks for the help in advance

I'm a neat freak, and even though my PSU is inside a shroud, I hate the idea of a birds nest of loose cables bunched up. I was thinking of maintaining combs from the front side and through to the PSU, maybe not loads 3-4 more for the main cables. Has anyone here done this before? If so how did you approach it? My PSU has a different number of cables for my 24-pin, 18+10, at the PSU end. I can't find combs for these (I assume people don't typically do this?). If this is the case, what do people do to keep the cables in order around the PSU end? I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Hey guys, I've finally saved enough to buy the all of the rest of the things that I need for my build but I'm stuck on making the purchase because of the cables. I definitely want custom cables or cable extensions from cable mod or something better if there is a better alternative but my big issue is that I don't exactly know what specific cables to get. I would be really grateful for some help. If it's visible I want it nice neat and color schemed. I just really want it to look nice since I'm dropping so much money on it. Going to buy some cable combs as well. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/BrandonComputes/saved/JVNQ7P Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor NZXT Kraken X42 Liquid CPU Cooler Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra ATX LGA1151 Motherboard G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Samsung 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX Mid Tower Case EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition 39.9 CFM 120mm Fan Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition (2-Pack) 62.7 CFM 120mm Fans Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition (2-Pack) 39.9 CFM 120mm Fans Corsair STRAFE Wired Gaming Keyboard Logitech K400 Plus Wireless Mini Keyboard w/Touchpad Mionix NAOS 7000 Wired Optical Mouse GGing Pro gaming mouse pad (extended) NZXT hue+

Hey guys, Not sure if this answer is on here or if this is the right forum to post under but any help would be very much appreciated. I'm trying to buy custom cables for my build and I bought the CableMod cables but they are the "Extension Kit" which I guess cant be used to plug directly into the PSU. I have a Corsair AX760 (not the "i" just the AX760) I haven't tried to plug the cables in because I'm not sure if they will work or if it will cause in damage I haven't really seen any info on this. I'm looking at returning the extension kit and buying this BitFenix Kit but I'm not sure if these are ok to plug directly into the PSU. Really cant find information on this topic and would love some help. Thanks!

Are all +12V pins from the PSU (6+2 & 4+4) created equal? Rather, for a single 8 wire connector, as long as the 4 ground pins on the PSU are wired to the 4 ground pins on the CPU and the 4 +12V pins on the PSU are wired to the 4 +12V pins on the CPU, does it matter if the wires don't follow the specific, factory pinout? Wall of text below. I'm creating a set of custom PSU cables for my new/first PC build in a Louqe Ghost S1 with Corsair SF600. I've traced all wires and verified the pinout with multiple other sources (everything agrees with this post). I've completed my GPU cables and made them exactly the same pinout as the stock wires, putting the twists/crossovers behind the PSU (out of sight, out of mind). I think I can hide the crossovers in 24-pin cable behind the GPU cable connections on the PSU side. Where I'm running into the dilemma is the 8 pin CPU cable; due to the orientation of my components if I follow the stock pinout there will be a big ugly twist front and center, no matter where i put it, instead of a showcase of neatly sleeved and organized wires. Hence my original question. I am fairly certain that it won't matter as these are power delivery and not signal wires. My guess is that they are probably pinned in the easiest way to split up the stock black ribbons at each connector, but I have never done this before and don't want to fry any components for small vanity. I have searched all over and the closest answer I could find was a thread where someone talking about how the custom cables they ordered did not match the pinout of their stockcables. They were told by the creator of said cables that they will work just fine but it was an old post that died out before ever giving a solid answer. Work preview below as tribute. MDPCX Shade 19, Platinum, and Vanilla Sands, will post full build pics once complete

Hello, I've been recently thinking about making some custom cables just for GPU (MSI GTX 970 4G GAMING, 8+6pin PCIe connector). Tried contacting Corsair for the official PSU pin layout, because later on i'll make other cables like 24pin ATX and 8PIN EPS fully custom too, but noone really reached back to me through email. So my questions are; Does anyone have the pin layout/links to the pin layout which are fairly reliable? Which wires should I use for the 8+6 pin connectors, 17 or 15 AWG? (Ordering from here) And lastly, my PCIe connector has both 8 and 6pin connectors , which looks really ugly, so is switching to separate 8 and 6 pin connectors possible? Thanks in advance.

Hello there! Here is a budget conscious build I did for a friend of mine. Corsair Carbide Air 240 Arctic White Corsair RM650x Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x8GB MSI B450 Mortar Titanium AMD Ryzen 7 1700 ASUS GTX 1070 Dual 2x Kingston SSDs 1x WD HDD This system was initially built in a hurry because it was needed quickly, but now it's back for the treatment it deserves As before, pictures say 1000 words: This thicc boi I used for the front panel connections is Paramax 1250 Type V paracord and was able to handle the 8 wires nicely. Here i was able to use the regular Paracord 550 type III since the wires for the front panel audio are much thinner. More to come...

Hi guys I bought a custom config on cablemod.com for my Corsair RM750x and I am thinking anout selling my RM750x to my friend and buying an HX750i or HX1000i fron Corsair and I want to know if my cables are still compatible with the newer PSU because the configurator on cablemod needs the exact PSU that I use, is it because the pins layout is not the same from PSU to an other ? or it does not matter ?

Hey guys. Just wanted to let the community know about the poor customer service experience i've had with CableMod. I purchased two cables through their custom cable configurator on April 22nd. They were shipped through DHL but USPS did the final delivery. They were shipped to the wrong address on May 09 which i confirmed when I called both DHL and USPS and USPS told me it was delivered to a different zip code than the one i provided CableMod. I emailed them on May 15th and explained the situation to them. Matt from Cablemod emailed me back the same day and said "We will have the order remade and reshipped ASAP." The next day they told me that they couldn't ship out the remade cables until they opened up an investigation with the courier and it had been resolved. He told me that the investigation would only take a few days. It has now been 19 days and after numerous back and forth emails with Matt telling me there is no update, he is now no longer replying to my emails. I am now escalating this to PayPal to get this resolved. I hope your experience with them has been better!

Hi, I'm trying to do a new small form factor build with custom cooling, and was wondering if there was any advice I should get. Any small form factor water cooling and cable management tips are really what I'm looking for. I want to know just what cables I need and how long I should get them. Also if anyone has built in the Thermaltake Core V21 with the horizontal motherboard configuration I'd love some tips. For water cooling, I plan to put two radiators on the top and my pump/reservoir combo just behind the front fans up from the basement to above the motherboard tray (It should fit). Here is the rest of my build - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/hunter95xx/saved/jgqnnQ Thanks for all the help!

Hey guys so I just bought a new Evga G3 psu and am going to be ordering a kit of sleeved cables for it so I really want to find some cable combs to do the cables justice. I mean after all if you are spending 120 bucks on custom cables you might as well get some combs to make it look nicer, I just can't seem to find anywhere I can buy them thats Canadian or doesn't have outrageous shipping/high prices. Anyone know a good place that ships to Canada for decent prices or a Canadian site? The cables I'm buying are the BitFenix Alchemy 2.0, and they are going in an evga g3 650W. Thanks!

So I’m looking to make my own psu cables. Partly because I have a Corsair 460x case and it’s tight on space, part because I think they would look great, and part because I want the experience. I’ve done lots of research getting my pin layout together, getting tools, and finding out what I’ll need for materials. The only thing I’m stuck on is the power supply tester. All the ones I’m seeing test 6-pin PCIE cables, but I need an 8-pin. Could I use the 8-pin CPU plug on these testers for these? Or are there any recommendations for good testers that are cheap. I just want to make sure I’m doing everything right and don’t fry any of my parts or start a fire.

I'm trying to make my own custom cables for my PSU. I'm having some trouble finding the correct pin layout. I've looked and I've found some great websites showing me what they should be, but I've seen both that the pin layouts for RMi and RMx pin layouts are different, and that they are the same and I'm new to this so I'm a little confused. I've been using this picture for reference that I downloaded off of the modders inc power supply pinout repository. I'm doing my 24pin, 8pin EPS, 8pin PCIE, and hopefully a dual and triple SATA. Also, it seems to me that there's an extra pin for the 24 pin. I don't know if it's one of the ground pins so I just can't see the 2 there or what. As I said, I'm new to this and it's a little confusing to me as I've never done this kind of wiring before.

I just bought a Dan A4-sfx used from a guy in Jutland (I live in Denmark) and built my system into it! It only took me half an hour to assemble because I have already worked alot with that kind of layout with my previous scratch built case, the "Matias' P1". Other than that, I really love this case, so I thought that I'd share my build and modding log with you guys! Link to the P1:

I'm trying to decide which PSU to get for my new build, I'll link the PCPartpicker link below, note the fans in it will be used in an eventual watercooling loop and the 980ti's are stand-ins for the Pascal equivalent once they come out: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vFMhsY Also here is a Psu calculator link: http://outervision.com/b/Y9Bb6S Despite the hx1200i being a lower wattage and a higher price, I cannot stand the all red PCI-e cables on the Supernova 1300, therefore, I'd end up getting a custom set. The Corsair cables, however look much better so I wouldn't feel the need to get custom cables. Therefore, the HX1200i Would end up costing me less. Would the extra 100 watts be worth the extra price, or would I be fine with the 1200W
