Hi all! It's been about half a years since i upgraded from a Ryzen 1600X to a 3700X on the same Crosshair VI, and it's kept on giving me issues during post. It sometimes stays stuck on post code "8" (not "08") for which I can't find anything in the manual. This usually happens when I enter the bios and reset the system afterwards. Usually turning off the PSU for a minute, then powering it back on and pressing the reset button a few times fixes it. Anyone else having these issues? Or is using this mobo and cpu without issues? Could it be a faulty cpu? Since the 1600X was working flawlessly Thanks for any reply/help!

About one-and-a-half week ago I stumbled across this section of the Asus homepage which shows an updated version of the very popular Crosshair VI X370 motherboard; now with pre-added Wi-Fi/Bluetooth capabilities. As many owners of the Crosshair VI have noticed, there were already indicators where the antenna-holes in the backplate were to be located, and the mobo had a hidden M.2 slot for the wireless module beneath the rear I/O-shield. So really, it was just a question of WHEN Asus would bring the complete version to market. Other than the added wireless-module, the mobo is identical to the current version. Interested in this board, I started searching the Internet and Asus webpage for possible stores to buy it from. But there were none to be found. So to still my hunger for this "complete version" of the mobo, I sent an e-mail to Asus asking them when and where I could buy the new version: They replied somewhat fast and here is the message that pretty much confirms that it will launch very soon: So there you have it! I thought I'd share this so if anyone was thinking of getting this board with an additional Wi-Fi-PCI-e module, you might just wait a few weeks until this baby hits the stores! P.s. I am not sure if I am breaking any laws/rules by posting and sharing this information. If it is against rules, then please notify me and delete this post. My intention has not been to break any laws or rules, but to share knowledge for the common good of consumers around the world.

Hello, as you probably seen from news AMD Ryzen R7 1800X and R7 1700X has +20C degree off set in temp readings. As you can see Ryzen Master reports it as 35 C but everything else sees it as 55-60 depending on load the CPU is under. It fluctuates +- 5 degrees. That fluctuation is not the problem though. When CPU hits +55C it will report +75C in every other program, including bios. And Asus hardwired Crosshair VI to ramp up the fans to 100% when CPU hits 76C, which is actually only 56C. I've tried changing my fan curve to 60% at maximum. But it keeps hitting 100% when it thinks it's 76C. There is no option to move the slider more right side so I can keep it at steady 60% even when faulty report says 80-90C (which is 60-70C with real report from Ryzen Master). Even in bios max temp you can fiddle with is 75C and then motherboard takes fan control over and hits 100% button. Anyone know how to get in front of this issue? Or heard AMD will patch this issue other then just their Ryzen Master software?

Hello i have decided to finaly buy a new rig after 9 years. I want to build a system that it will last me at least 6 years. I currently have i7-920 3.8 OC with Seidon 120V v2, 12gb 1033MHz ddr3 ram, r9 290 tri-x. i want to build a ryzen system, i will use it for game development and gaming. These are the items i have concluded: CPU: 1800X or 1700X, not sure yet Motherboard: Asus Rog Crosshair VI Hero RAM: Gskill Flare X 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 Cooling: CoolerMaster MasterLiquid 240 Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Tempered Glass SSD: Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 250GB or Samsung 850 Evo 500GB HDD: i will use from my current-old rig PSU: i will use from my current-old rig GPU: i will use from my current-old rig I am tending towards 1700X, then get a water-cooling and OC at a later time. Here are my questions: 1) will 16GB be enough for the future or should i get 32gb ram with lower frequency? 2) Also i don't quite understand the dual rank and dual channel thing. The Crosshair VI Hero support 4 modules of ram, if i buy flare x pack which has 2 modules, and later i buy another flare x pack so i can get 32gb total, will they work? or i will have to buy a 4 module pack? 3) if i get 1700X and OC with water-cooling, will i be able to match 1800X OC? 4) which ssd to choose? go for speed with the 960 EVO or for lower speed but increased capacity with 850 EVO? If you have any suggestions or improvements i shall make please post below. Thanks in advance for helping.

Heads up guys, the Crosshair VI's new 7002 BIOS will cause a soft brick upon updating if you're coming from a BIOS older than 6903. This includes versions 6808 and 6401. So if you want to update for Ryzen 3000 support and you're on a BIOS older than 6903, you'll need to sequentially update to 7002. Eg 6401 -> 6808, 6808 -> 6903, 6903 -> 7002 If you have already attempted a "jump flash" and got a soft brick, the USB flashback feature may or may not work. The ASUS ROG forums had some posts mentioning the BIOS flashback button not working (basically full bricks) after the update. My own Crosshair VI was able to restore back to 6401 after the 7002 soft brick, but results may vary. Hope this prevents some headaches and stops you guys from buying new boards.

I seem to be having some weird issue with my X370 motherboard. The fans sometimes have this up and down pulse in speed and I have no idea why. I have a fan curve set in the BIOS but at random the fans just seem to ignore it by either ramping up or not really gaining any RPM at all. It al seems to have started when I tried controlling fan speed through UI software. Though I'm not sure if this is the case or just a mere coincidence. In all honesty all help is appreciated since there's times where it ramps up even in the bios where my max fan speed should be 65% PWM (ml140 fans are loud at anything above that) it just goes all the way to 100% at times. I just don't really know where to even start

Hey all, I just noticed this unmarked connector underneath the CPU socket on my ASUS Crosshair VI. It is not marked on the board and the manual doesn't seem to mention it anywhere. The motherboard diagram in the manual completely skips over it. Anyone know what this is for?

AMD 3700X Asus crosshair VI Hero Asus Crosshair VII Hero 16gb hyperX memory 2666mhz Corsair HX750i Stock Wraith Prism GTX 660 for testing I'm working on upgrading my system from a 1700x to a 3700x, and an asus crosshair vi hero to a vii hero. While I'm troubleshooting a memory incompatibility on the X470 crosshair, I tried to test the 3700X on my old motherboard to ensure that the CPU wasnt the issue. I've installed the stock wraith prism cooler and connected the fan cable to the CPU fan header, yet the fan will not spin more than a couple seconds at low rpm. I've gone into the bios (which is the latest one) and attempted to control the fan. It reads as NA in the monitor tab. If I connect it to the AIO pump header, the fan spins at 2800rpm. I then attempted to have the bios ignore the cput fan speed. I saved and restarted. Bam, CPU fan speed error. The ignore setting was ignored, fancy that. I tried to connect the fan back to the cpu so as to set a manual curve. I was able to make changes in Qfan control, however, it wouldn't let me apply any changes. This motherboard was previously used in a custom loop, where the ignore cpu fan speed setting was enabled successfully. This only happened after updating the BIOS, installing the 3700X, clearing CMOS, and installing the stock cooler (instead of previous monoblock). Can anyone shed some light on this issue? I searched online but everyone else said updating bios fixed it. Thanks in advance!

Hello LTT Community, I recently built the following machine: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X MB: Asus Crosshair VI Hero (non WiFi) RAM: G. Skill Trident Z RGB 2x8GB 3200MHz (will be swapped with 64GB soon) GPU: Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070 TI Advanced AIO: NZXT Kraken Z63 CASE: NZXT H510 Elite (with fan controller, so no fans except AIO pump on mobo) PSU: Corsair HX1200 SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB SSD 2: Kingston A400 120GB HDD 1: Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD 2: Seagate IronWolf 2TB HDD 3: Seagate IronWolf 2TB I had the motherboard for a great deal with the only issue being that the intergrated LAN chip was missing, so I bought a Realtek RTL8111G pci-e expansion card with it. First I thought that it was the LAN Card, but I removed it and nothing changed. The issue is that the pc kind of freezes after a few minutes of booting into windows. When I start up a game just before the problem normally persists, it works perfectly until I close the game, no matter how long the session is. With freezing I mean that you can still move the mouse and everything but nothing were you click works. But for instance now I am writing this message on the same PC using Firefox and the issue hasn't showed up again. But when I restart the PC it will probably be back. Temperatures are pretty normal, at this exact moment CPU = 48 C and GPU 34 C If there is any more information you would like to know hit me up. If you can think of anything that causes the problem, I would be happy to try it out.

Hey guys and girls so need kinda a lot of help. So I've recently changed from soft tube and went to hardline also adding my gpu to the loop. Everything worked fine before hand now my motherboard won't turn on. It has all the aura lights going around the cpu ready light green on the led on the start button on but when I press that button or the power button on the case nothing is happening at all. I tried the taking ram out putting it back in, double checked the cpu to make sure it was seated right. I was able to jump the power supply so I know the power supply isn't what's wrong. I did try to update the bios to see if that would work still nothing but it did update the bios. I'll attach a picture of the motherboard with the lights on.

Hello everyone, I have just build myself a new computer with an AMD Ryzen R7 1700 overclocked to 4GHz on an ASUS Crosshair VI Hero with 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200MHz. The case is the Fractal Design Meshify C, the PSU is the bequiet! Dark Power Pro 11 750W and the Storage is a SAMSUNG SSD 960 Pro NVMe 1TB. I cool the system with the Corsair H110i and my GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti reference. I use Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. Here is a picture of my rig. So after overclocking my R7 1700 to 4GHz on 1.325V vCore (8h Prime95, 8h AIDA64) stable I started playing with the D.O.C.P options on my Motherboard. Since I don't know much about memory overclocking I activated the D.O.C.P standard profile and set the RAM to 2933MHz instead of 3200MHz. When I set the RAM to 3200MHz the computer won't even post, no matter what. I appreciate your help and opinions =)

As the title suggests, my 1700x on my Crosshair VI is running at a high voltage of 1.526 volts pushing my temps in bios to 50+ C on a H100i V2. It was like this before I touched a single setting. I do see an option to set a manual voltage but when I select it I can't actually type anything. My bios is version 1201. Also, what is the correct way of overclocking my RAM to 3000 (or 2933 in the case of Ryzen) Mhz from the stock 2133? Thanks for the help in advance.

Oookay i'm continuing my troubleshooting on this build... Atm my MB wont detect the second GPU, and got to say i'm pretty clueless right now. I have just tested that both GPUs are working, but the second GPU does not show either on wattman, windows or in bios. Did amd driver cleanup and reinstalled all drivers, just to have that out of the way. Crosshair VI Hero AMD Ryzen 7 2700X G-Skill FlareX 16GB 3200Mhz 2xVega 64 Corsair HX1200 Pic is what bios show when there are two GPUs connected.
