Hello y'all, System admin here trying to understand better if there's a hardware solution to various small problems my organization faces. Most of these problems involve Adobe Indesign and Photoshop and are customer induced, where we'll receive raster type images that also scale poorly or deal with customers who don't clean up the files they send us, requiring a lot of work on the side of our Graphic Designers. I've seen that Nvidia has added RTX type features to Adobe Creative Cloud, but it seems limited. Most of our Adobe Creative Cloud users are on macOS M1 machines due to personal preference, but still have to process some things through Windows VMs. I think it would be easy to convert that machine to a physical one with an RTX capable GPU if worth it (and free up cluster resources). Pro Tip #26 – Accelerate Adobe Creative Cloud with NVIDIA RTX GPUs (pny.com) Does anyone have professional experience with using RTX Super Resolution in Photoshop that can speak on its effectiveness? Also, using modern Windows hardware with Adobe Indesign versus macOS? We do have a machine at work that we can use to test it, but it would involve a bit of work to get Adobe Creative Cloud applications running on it. I've been an RTX Super Resolution user on the consumer end since its release, since I run a 4K display. Its noticeable at best, but I could see the feature on image upscaling to be very good.

Hi all, I got a new laptop earlier this week, and I cannot use my Photoshop CS6 or any CS6 software on it because of how terrible it scales on the 4K panel. I'm a student, and I'm wondering if there's a way to get a free subscription using my institution email. Thanks -Alpha.

Help to chose a Work/Gaming Laptop (~3500$)
Rifawkes posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hi everyone! I am looking for laptop choice advice! I saw this Q&A type post earlier and find it clear to read so I made one similar : CONTEXT: I am an Engineering student in my last year of school and would like to buy a work/gaming laptop that will last me at least 5 years. As I am willing to put a lot of money in it I really want to choose it carefully! Thanks for your help! • Total budget ? ~3000€ / ~3500$ max budget (France or USA) • General Specs / Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications? - 2 in 1 would be awesome - 7-9 hours battery ideally - i7 8th gen or better - 16 Gb ram or more (I assume 2 x 8Gb is also better but please correct me if not) - 512Go SSD minimum - 2To SSD maximum - Windows 10 • How important is weight and thinness to you? Thin and light is better but most importantly: I don't want a laptop looking too much like a gaming laptop (as I need to use it for work it is better if the design is sober) Performance is still my priority. • Do you have a preferred screen? 15" FHD or 4K Good screen temperature and colors as I wish to use Adobe Creative Suite 60Hz+ refresh rate as I wish to play also • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing? List which programs/games you desire to run. - Adobe Creative Suite (mostly Photoshop & Premiere Pro) - Solidworks / Fusion 360 (small/medium designs) • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I would like to play in ultra settings around 45-70 fps depending on the game (The Witcher 3 / FarCry 5 / RDR2 / TES6 hopefully haha / etc..) • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I would like the laptop to last so a solid structure would be great (metal). A good keyboard is also nice. Touch-screen is a good feature but not mandatory. I know this is a lot of requirements and there might not be THE perfect laptop but still if you have any advice and devices to suggest I would be glad to hear it ! For now I've been looking at : - HP Spectre x360 15-df0900nz - Dell XPS 15 2 in 1 - Microsoft Surface Book 2 but I'm not convinced PS: English is not my native language, sorry for the mistakes -
So I have a NUC 8i7HVK which I bought to play games and be mobile and work on my video editing skills. Adobe premiere does not run on the nuc. I have the latest driver updates for graphics and such but when I run premiere it shows all the videos as black whether I use mercury or openCL. It has an 8809G i7 Processor and Vega M GH graphics and intel even advertised the nuc8 as running adobe premiere 42% faster than the previous nuc7 but the nuc8 can't even display the video previews. Help please! Adobe told me to contact intel for support because adobe couldn't figure out the problem, sounds like a bad joke or a good segway to create a new linus tech tips video! Thanks for reading everyone! PS this is my first post. Woo!

Hello. I am at a new multimedia job, where they do not have the nicest components for our computers. I have been given a creative cloud license to use for the computer and have downloaded Photoshop CC. I am currently running 2 Dell P2417H monitors with an AMD Radeon R5 430 and an Intel HD Graphics 530 integrated in an i7-6700 at 3.4ghz. I have 16GB of RAM. This is running in a dell OptiPlex 5050 system. Originally both monitors were running on DisplayPort. Whenever I tried to open the Photoshop CC, I would get a crash report from adobe before photoshop would completely open. I have had the IT guy try to figure out what the problem was and the only solution we came up with was to plug both monitors into the dedicated graphics card with one running through the DisplayPort and the other running through the DVI port then converted to VGA to run on the other monitor. We also tried forcing the computer run the dedicated graphics card primarily through the BIOS. Drivers I believe are up to date. We have also uninstalled ad reinstalled photoshop and rolled it back. Does anyone else have a solution that allows for one monitor to run through the dedicated graphics and the other through the integrated's like the previous setup? I am concerned that there will be a big performance impact running both on one card and that the VGA will affect the monitors performance. I also will be using this system for Premiere, After Effects etc. I have attached the problem description according to the reliability monitor. Thanks.

I have most of the parts I need for a Photoshop CC/Lightroom PC. I only need storage. I know I want the OS, programs, a couple games, and scratch on SSD(s). I am looking at Samsung EVO 2.5" drives for SSD(s) and a WD Red drive for OS backup/system image and mass photo storage. Would I benefit from having scratch on a separate SSD or should I keep it on the OS/program drive? This will help me determine what size SSD(s) I plan to purchase (either 500GB OS/programs and 250GB scratch, or 1TB for everything). Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else , but there is too much information to sift through. Thanks to anyone that can help me answer this question.

Hi. I am preparing to try Adobe Photoshop CC with a free trial, my only issue is Creative Cloud Desktop. I intend on using it on a machine that will be primarily offline, so I want to know how to use Photoshop CC without Creative Cloud Desktop. Also, if I do decide to go ahead and subscribe to Photoshop CC, is there a way to just pay the monthly or however often it is fee, and just uninstall Creative Cloud Desktop? Thanks, Alpha.

Ok, so I am downloading the trial of some adobe programs.. I download the CC first so I can do it.. by defalt it tried installing to my SSD, c drive. It had no disk space, so I found out how to set it to my D drive..s o I did. Even made a new folder after trying a few others in the d drive. IT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING TO MY D DRIVE, EVEN IF I SET IT TO INSTALL TO MY D DRIVE IN MY PREFERENCES. When it says "Can't Install" I click "Learn More". It said: Installation Failed. Insufficient disk space. Please clear space on C and try again.(-30) I don't understand.. I set it to my D, which has just under 800gb available at the moment. Idk why it is still trying to install in c. Yes, Ik this is also in the software section of the website, but this is a better, more active spot.

My current pc sucks balls ... and so running the adobe creative cloud apps (after effects, audition, premier etc) is killing me... I dont want to just go balls to the wall and buy kickass parts if the adobe software does not use those pieces of hardware efficiently. Do I invest more in a GPU or spend that extra in the processor and ram - should i run for 12 cores or can adobe CC only use 6? questions like this... so an optimized PC build with one endpoint in mind - adobe CC use input needed badly - many thanks
