  1. Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Ryzen 7 5800x to pair with my RX 6750XT. After installation of the cpu, I ran into bsod issues and eventually it just turned into the pc crashing and rebooting on its own. It seems to do this under some sort of heavy load, such as gaming and so on. Previously I had a 5600x, and never once encountered any errors whatsoever. Checking the bsod cause came down to a ntoskrnl wrong symbols error. After doing some further research, I figured this was a memory issue and pulled out my RAM stick in slot B2. After doing so, the PC hasn’t crashed at all. I then put the stick back in and ran some tests using the windows memory diagnostics tool and found no errors, I also decided to use MemTest86 and after 4 and a half hours also found no errors. I checked the temps before crashes using HWiNFO64 and they were fine, the cpu hit a max of 72 Celsius but when the crash occurred it was 64 Celsius. I can’t seem to figure out a fix, I’ve tried multiple solutions and none have worked except using one memory stick, however I don’t want to sacrifice a memory stick just to have this working. I’d appreciate any sort of help. Other solutions I’ve tried are listed below, thanks —Specs— MSI B550M Gaming Plus Ryzen 7 5800x Asus Dual RX 6750XT x2 TridentZ RGB 16gb 3600Mhz Using the MasterLiquid ML240 for the CPU Running windows 11 on Samsung evo plus —Solutions Tried— Cleared CMOS Updated BIOS Drivers Fresh install of GPU drivers Updated Chipset drivers Updated windows Turned off all OC settings for CPU and RAM Restored default settings in bios Reset windows Used sfc scan and dsim commands Checked for any installation errors on the cpu Used MemTest86 Used windows memory diagnostics Checked temps before crash Reseated the cpu, ensuring there is enough thermal paste and non on the pins
  2. Hi all! Over the last couple months I've been plagued with the windows frowny face blue screen... I see it in my nightmares at this point. Couple months ago, out of nowhere my PC crashed. Rebooted, was able to play for about a day and then the crashing happened more frequently until the point I couldn't even boot windows without it immediately crashing. Wasn't able to find any corrupt files, decided to do a fresh windows install, but nothing helped. After about a week of troubleshooting, a friend had suggest it might be a hardware issue. I decided to use this as an opportunity to upgrade, I got a new mobo and ram. Installed both without a hitch, fired the pc up and installed a fresh windows again, still ran into the same issue. After this, figured it could only be the cpu... went ahead and upgraded that as well. For about 3-4 weeks this seemed to have solved the issue, was able to play with no problem, pc was running smooth and fast. Out of nowhere it began to overheat and the fans wouldn't push at 100%, then it began to crash again, and yet again it progressively got worse. Fast forward to now, I've removed my gpu and the crashing has seemed to have stopped. A couple of times after the initial boot or a restart I would get the windows blue frowny face screen but after windows would boot no problem. Obviously haven't tried to play any games since I'm running off of the cpu's internal graphics, just have updated all my drivers and windows so it's not like the computer has been under any load. I'm not incredibly well versed in troubleshooting but at this point it seems kind of likely that my gpu was the culprit all along, but after having bought over a grand worth of hardware and the problem persisting I'm not confident that spending even more money is the solution either. If anyone has any feedback it would be greatly appreciated!
  3. I have never had issues with my GPU and is dust free - in a well ventilated case. almost had it for a year. when i play games that use a lot of my GPU i will have backscreen crashes where my pc stays on, but with a black screen and loud fans. I end up needing to force shutdown by the button. i suspected its a temp problem.. when i went to check, i noticed temps being uncomfortably high on the gpu. i clocked it at 110c in the hot spot. but i have seen it go more then that but crashes before then. are these temps normal for this card or is there a fault with the card? (temps are in Celsius) are my black screens with the pc still on to do with the card overheating when playing games? helldivers2 is the one that black screens me. never used to do it before. my friend who has a 3080 also gets these types of backscreens when playing games, and theirs was to do with their case cooling. but the wired part for me is that my card is not being starved of cool air. From the screenshot i sent, the mins and max values are the ones to look at, as the current value is just my idle video: https://youtu.be/Ur-Ni82IsjU
  4. This is an issue that I have had with my previous Laptop and am starting to have it again. 1 device was running windows 10 and this one is now running windows 11. On my windows 10 machine I used to use the hibernation feature and when I would leave it plugged in (connected to power) and charging it would randomly crash and I'd have to press the power button to turn it on and when I did, everything had to start up again like I had just turned it on after having been powered down. (Can see in the event log it crashes "Shut down unexpectedly") Now i am having that issue again on my new laptop running windows 11. I have no idea what is causing the issue. I have provided some text documents with event viewer logs that may be able to help someone figure out why this is happening. I'd like to note that this will happen whether I put the Laptop to sleep or use the hibernation feature. Sometimes I can place the computer to Sleep or Hibernate and if I reopen it shortly after it's fine. I even get this happening to me on the RARER occasion when I am simply watching YouTube. Sometimes when I open the lid, the computer is on but black screen and cannot do anything, I have to manually hold the power button down and shut it down and restart it in order for me to be able to see anything. 5. I need some help with my computer (Windows 11). Discord, games (The Finals, Overwatch) crash instantly on launch or after a few minutes, and sometimes browser tabs crash but not often. I've found a workaround for Discord. It works fine in the Edge browser, but crashes on Firefox after some time, or the microphone disconnects. Here's what I've tried so far: updated the motherboard BIOS to the newest version, ran Memtest86 (passed), restored BIOS to default settings, disabled XMP, fully uninstalled and reinstalled all crashing applications, fully uninstalled and reinstalled GPU drivers and audio drivers, updated Windows, also side note ran Furmark and Cinebench without system crashes. The system is not overheating, temps are fine. Internet is fine, plugged into ethernet. Specs: Intel Core i9-14900K 3.2 GHz 24-Core Processor Asus ROG STRIX B760-I GAMING WIFI Mini ITX LGA1700 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6600 CL32 Memory (CMK64GX5M2B6600C32) MSI VENTUS 3X OC GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB Video Card. 6. Hi everyone, Whilst I am gaming and I press on the Windows button to go into my desktop, the system will black screen and making a buzzing sound and reboot. This has happened several times before, although not always but it is frequent. I believed it was a PSU issue so I replaced it however I still had the same issue. The CPU is new, and the same issue sometimes occurred on my old CPU. I did a system stability test on AIDA64 and left it running for an hour and it did not crash. I also did a CPU test and it did not crash. Cinebench does not crash. I'm lost for words at what component is causing the issue. Please advise, thank you. Specs: Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x GPU: ASUS AMD RX 6650XT RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz C16 PSU: Corsair RM750e 750W OS: Windows 11 Pro
  7. My GTX 1050 Ti started exhibiting some very worrisome behavior. It was fine up until a couple hours ago, when it started to suddenly crash. I was playing a game and chatting with a friend when all of a sudden BAM. black screen and both Discord and the game I was playing (Genshin Impact) crashed. Upon further testing, I discovered this crash happens only under 3D loads. Video decoding/encoding and normal desktop use are normal still. EDIT: Forgot to add system specs. My apologies. CPU: Xeon-e3 1230v2 RAM: 2x8GB DDR3 from Kingston (99U5403-159.A01LF) GPU: GTX 1050 TI MOBO: ASRock H61M-VS PSU: Gigabyte P450B In Event Viewer, it shows the following structure of errors. (Latest one is on the top) - Display warning (Error ID 4101) - nvlddmkm Error (Error ID 0) - nvlddmkm Error (Error ID 0) - nvlddmkm Error (Error ID 0) - nvlddmkm Error (Error ID 0) Inside any of the four errors, contains the following (xx changes every time, increasing by one) \Device\000000xx Restarting (or Reset) TDR occurred on GPUID:100 That sequence happens between 1-120s of starting any 3D load. And if too many happen in sequence (A.K.A The app doesn't fully crash) the pc will freeze with a black screen and require a restart. I already ran DDU and reinstalled the latest driver (I was using an old version when it started (546.33), and it continued happening even in the latest one (551.23)). I am tech savvy enough to have collected a HWINFO log of it happening (I ran 3DMARK Firestrike - it lasted for about 2 minutes) Which I'll be attaching to this post - but I don't really know if any of it CAN indicate some issue. Some other things: - I have no other PC to test the GPU in (However, I do have a friend with a gaming PC that I could use, but he is busy currently, and will travel tomorrow morning, only to be back at next Wednesday.) - I have no money to buy any replacement GPU nor to repair this one, and my system has no iGPU (Ivy Bridge Xeon e3) so in the case of it ACTUALLY being dead, I'll have to deal with it. - Lastly, this GPU has already been repaired once, a whole year go. It was gifted to me by a friend that lives near the sea, so it had some corrosion issues on the memory modules. Has been running FLAWLESSLY since then, up until today. UPDATE: It died for good now GPU Log.CSV
  8. TLDR; Random crashing that I cant fix by any means of software, and cannot pinpoint possible bad component. I need help, because I have no clue what to try at this point. I recently upgraded my PC from a i7 9700k & 3080 (And other necessary components) to: CPU: i9 14900k (Mounted w/Thermal Grizzly contact frame. "Torqued" to exact spec) GPU: MSI 3080 Gaming Trio Mobo: MSI Z690 Force Wifi Memory: x2 32gb Gskill trident Z5 DDR5 6600 *I added another set of this same memory kit post build* PSU: 1600w EVGA SuperNova Storage: 2 M.2 SSDs (Samsung), 1 SATA SSD, and 2 HDDs (existing). *Boot on M.2 980 Pro* Cooling & Fans: Lian li galahad 2, x6 Corsair SP120s. Along with this upgrade I did a completely fresh windows install and upgraded to windows 11. When playing most games that aren't very low demand like Lethal Company, I experience random crashes at random points. These crashes range in errors but most frequent being ones from UE5/4 games (Alan Wake 2, The Finals, EA WRC, etc..) , the following are the descriptions from crash reports & event viewer. Along with an occasional BSOD, but never while playing a game, only when on desktop doing non-performance intensive processes. MISSING_ANGELSCRIPT_CALLSTACK EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION LowLevelFatalError Aftermath GPU Crash dump Triggered DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED BSOD: Memory_Management Among some " GPU Memory exceeded " or similar in Overwatch 2 randomly. These crashes typically do not happen in graphic intensive sections or have any trigger, my temperatures are never excessively high. These are the things I have tried to far to no avail: DDU GPU Driver fix, multiple times. Updating Bios, chipset, and any manufacturer driver under that applies. SFC Scan, fixed once, after that always says no errors. Different graphics settings (Running in D3D12/11, vsync on/off, hardware acceleration on/off etc..) XMP Enabled/Disabled I do not overclock but ensured no overclocking through MSI Click bios Memtest86+ Received fails on 1st test, no change. Tested each stick by itself with multiple passes, no errors, then all 4 together again- no errors. I have a hunch that it could be the memory, because as stated before I initially bought x1 32gb Gskill trident Z5 kit, then bought another of the exact same kit. I do now know that this shouldn't be done and if I wanted 64gb it should be from the same kit- but doing Memtest86+ resulted in no errors. My next step will likely be Clean windows install, and seeing if that makes a difference. If not, then RMAing Ram, Motherboard, then CPU. If anyone has any suggestions or if you are having issues like this please drop your specs and what you have tried. Thanks.
  9. I bought a Asus ROG Strix G10CE premade. I took out the mobo, CPU, and GPU. I put them into an NZXT H510 case with an EVGA 600W 80 Plus power supply, upgraded RAM, and a corsair H60 AIO Cooler. I will list the full specs below. The problem is, the pc will randomly freeze, black screen, or close to desktop randomly. I predominately play Overwatch on it and very light other games. I've looked at the event logs and I do get a few kernel event errors of: 41, 141, 117. Sometimes I can play for hours, sometimes it crashes halfway through the first match of OW. I have no idea what is wrong, I've done a clean install of Windows 11 and have uninstalled all Asus software except Asus AI suite 3. I only use AI Suite 3 for the cpu fan speed controller. The bios is updated, but awful. I cannot change XMP settings, fan speeds, overclocks, nothing. So I need software to make sure the AIO pump is pumping. 10. I have had an issue with programs/games/ and my entire PC crashing (blue screen). I tried reinstalling OS on my NVMe SSD and still had issues. I am a Best Buy Total Tech member, so I had them run diagnostics on it for a week and they said they couldn't get the OS to install on it. They said that they believe that the NVMe SSD is bad. I sent the NVMe SSD to Samsung under warranty, and they repaired it. I got it back, installed it and got the OS installed. Having the exact issues happen again. I have a picture of what the "Blue Screen" looks like here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 11. I have an old dell optiplex 7020 with a 4th gen intel i3 ( i think its an i3 4660??? but im not sure. I don't have a GPU. every time i load up fortnite when i get to the logging in screen the game just closes and the epic games launcher just opens. i've tried the verifying files thing and reinstalling the game fully. i think it might be to do with fortnite requiring directx 11 but i have no idea! please help if you can!
  12. Build: All used parts, except for RAM Mobo - Asus B550-F Gaming CPU - Ryzen 5800X3D RAM - Kingston Fury Renegade DDR4 32gb CL16 3600mhz GPU - Zotac 1080ti AMP Extreme PSU - EVGA Supernova 850 P2 So, the issue is off and on with no really answer or fix that I can figure out. There is no overclock due to the issues I’m having although I did have the GPU overlocked when I first got it with no issues at first, until my first crash and then I removed all overclock settings. My computer will randomly crash while playing games with no rhyme or reason and in reboot will display a VGA issue on the mobo. Sometimes it’s back to back within minutes and other times it could be a few weeks in between crashes. Most of the time all I have to do is resintall the GPU and it goes away for a little bit and other times, it will reboot on its own just fine. Other times, I just leave it off for a little while and boot up and it’s fine. I don’t think it’s a temp issue as before while gaming I’ve had some monitoring software open and it showed that my GPU temps never exceeded 75C. I never had this issue before with my 1070 or 1080 on the AM4 platform or any GPU with my older Intel i7-7700K on the Asus Tuff Z270 Mark 2. I have 2 separate VGA 8pin cables going to the GPU. I haven’t tried just one as I don’t have a cable that breaks off. My mobo bios is fully up to date, everything is seated properly, all drivers and firmware with the GPU are up to date and good to go. It’s just so random that it’s been impossible to figure out why it’s happening. I’m really at a loss here and before I break and just by a new GPU I’m reaching out for help to see if anything can resolve this. My 1080ti is fine for my needs at 1080p. It’s also not possible for me to try the 1070 or 1080 anymore as I sold them because the 1080ti that I got worked perfectly for about 4 months until I upgraded from the 7700k to the 5800X3D. Even then it was good for about a month into the CPU upgrade and then it’s been off and on crashing. I just have no idea why I’m randomly crashing and it’s very frustrating how random it is. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.
  13. So about a month ago my pc started crashing now and then when under load and was under performing. I opened it up and re built it from scratch, key point being that I had to replace the thermal paste because it looked like it was not cooling properly and was significantly darker than new paste. This fixed the crashing for a few days then it started crashing every time I launched a game that was taxing. I replaced the thermal paste with new thermal paste that wasn't opened before and this worked again for about a day and now my pc is crashing again. A few other problems are that I have had issues connecting my controller to my pc via bluetooth while it says unknown device every time. I also wiped all the files off the pc and re installed windows recently because I would consistently find corrupted files when scanning my pc. This didn't solve anything.
  14. hey guys, just upgraded to a 7800 XT from a 1080TI. got everything going, all drivers installed etc. Now i randomly get black screen freezing with a buzzing sound coming from speakers/headphones, that goes away if i unplug monitor from GPU. the crashes/freezing i cant replicate. it has happened in Rimworld, exiting full screen from Youtube, and if I idle for awhile in a browser or game. but I cant replicate, it happens when it feels like it. I searched the web and it seems like a common issue. any advice or ideas? Prime Z270-A MB I7-7700k 32gig ram @2933 750Watt Corsair PSU

  16. So, recently I bought a second hand MSI GTX 1080ti Sea Hawk X and tried installing it replacing my 1660ti, however, I could't get past installing the geforce drivers. The drivers would almost finish installing but then the display would flash with these small glitchy looking white/purple/green lines and restart. With every restart after that, the process would repeat, windows logo would load followed by screen going blank with glitchy lines and then restart. Or it would also sometimes not restart and just say no signal. Other times the glitchy lines would stay on the screen for 5 seconds or more before restarting. The only way to break the cycle was to boot into safe mode and use DDU to clear the drivers, then it would boot into windows normally. So, as long as the drivers weren't installed or I was in safe mode everything would work fine besides obviously not being able to actually use the gpu. Not sure if this is important, but I have 2 monitors and the 1080ti would only display to one of them. The person I bought the card from claims that It was working perfectly fine before I got it, which I am inclined to believe because he has videos of it working days prior (and proof of the date). He says he's never seen the card do anything like what I showed him. The cards vRAM fan is also loud (making an RRRRR sound) and inconsistent (would spin for like 2 seconds at a time), like its struggling to spin. Which he also claimed didn't happen before. He has been doing his best to give suggestions on what the issue might be. I even tried installing it on my girlfriends pc, which is a lot more powerful and updated, yet the symptoms were the same. Even the monitor problem where it only displays to 1 of 2 monitors. Will soon also try it on my friends computer which is even more updated and powerful. I also reinstalled my old 1660ti and had no issues. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Am I installing something wrong, is there a compatibility issue, or did I just get ripped off? The attached images show what the glitchy lines look like when they flash on the screen. Any help would be great! Installing various versions of the drivers, even the exact version the seller had used Using a higher capacity psu Letting geforce experience automatically install them Letting Windows automatically install them Cleared CMOS DDU multiple times to clear old drivers Reseating the card Ran the driver installer as administrator Tried a clean install of the drivers with nv clean install looked for MSI version of the drivers, however couldn't find the 10 series sea hawk drivers Dusting the PCIE slot Tried shutting down the pc after installing drivers in safe mode and waited 30min before starting it again IMG_4105.HEIC IMG_1906.HEIC
  17. Hello, I may be one of the few people with gaming laptops seeking help here.. My GTX166Ti Keeps crashing when I play heavier games such as Warzone or the Spiderman Remastered (Spiderman Miles Morales works somehow), but is totally fine when I play less intensive games such as CS2 or Valorant. I recently wanted to try out Battlefield 1 since it was on sale a few days ago and I keep crashing with the error code attached below. The first few times when I first had the laptop, it wasnt so bad, but now I guess it has gotten worse over the days and I have troubles with the Graphic card ALSO restarting itself a few times where it would turn black for a few seconds then turn back on... On the other hand I have my drivers regularly updated, I have updated my BIOS to the latest version. Please Help... I have tried under clocking where it helps but during heavier parts of the game it would still crash... I have also attached my dxdiag files down below.. * Edit I am currently using a double monitor setup that if I look into it is connected both to my GTX1660 if that Information helps in any way? 18. I've just bought a new (to me) Gigabyte Vision RTX 3070 and I am having a couple of issues. The first issue I am having is heat. It is heating up to 85C, and the fans are running at full speed. Airflow isn't an issue - if I take off the side panel this still happens. I know 85C isn't an issue in itself, but it is causing it to lower the boost clock to keep the temperature from going higher, which it shouldn't have to do. It is loud and I feel it should / could be performing better. The next (and more major) issue I am having is that I am experiencing crashes. I find that sometimes my screen will randomly go blank, my monitor will go into standby, and nothing responds, meaning I have to press the reset button on my case. This is worst case scenario - sometimes the game just crashes, but one of the two will almost definitely happen if the GPU is under heavy load. This only happens when the GPU is under load. The last issue I am having is I have noticed that when i enable G-Sync i get some flickering in some games. I understand this can be caused by the game FPS exceeding the possible refresh rate of the monitor. This is strange as I enable an fps limit at 144fps, V-Sync is on and my monitor is set up correctly. I am at a loss with this one, but I haven't looked into this too much due to the time taken up by the previous issues. Tomorrow when I get a chance, I am going to use two separate PCIe power cables, as opposed to one split cable. I have heard mixed opinions on whether this makes a difference or not, but I feel it is definitely worth a try before trying to get my money back for the card (if I can). Does anyone have any other suggestions for what I can try? I am aware that I can try undervolting for the GPU; if changing the power cables resolves the instability, I will also look into that and see what can be done. Any advice relating to that would also be appreciated. I have just upgraded from an RTX 2060 Super and I had neither of these issues. My PC specs: Ryzen 7 5800X (NO OC) Asus Rog Strix B550-A Motherboard 32GB DDR4-3600MHz (D.O.C.P) Corsair RM750x 750 watt PSU 1440p 144hz HDR10 Monitor Sorry this is so long. Any advice / suggestions would be strongly appreciated. Thanks.
  19. I'll try to keep this as brief as possible because all my patience with this pc is nearly gone. I feel like I've tried almost everything to no avail. The Issue: So what happens is that when playing any game and in this case I've been using the sims 4 to keep it consistent, after anywhere between 2-10 minutes (typically) or up to 2 hours (rarely) of gameplay the whole pc freezes. Meaning no inputs can be done until I'm forced to shut it off. And there are no real indicators leading up to the crash, the games run as well as they should until they stop running at all. What I've tried: I feel like I have done nearly everything except for buying a whole new PC, which is absolutely not an option. But I have replaced parts, reinstalled windows, running more than enough virus scans and troubleshooters but nothing has shed a light on what the issue could possibly be. However some things I did find were that using a different ram stick on each slot helped it run significantly longer, to the point where it I had believed that replacing the RAM was the option. But then all of that was done and yet it still freezes just the same the next time the pc is used. This led me to believe that that the storage was corrupted in some way, after all I had ran the chkdsk command on the C drive and it failed. Right after reinstalling windows on the new SSD, once again the pc ran fine! But the day after the crashes began once again. I am past the point of being frustrated, I'm sick of this but Id like to avoid a pc repair shop if possible. -Asus EVO oc edition 2060 -Corsair 650 watt power supply -Ryzen 7 5800x -500 gb solid state drive -2 tb hard drive -2 x 8 ddr4 3600 mHz ram -MSI Mag b550 tomohawk motherboard These were the specs before the replaced SSD and Ram (gskill trident 32gb) Any and all help is greatly appreciated! 20. Hi, recently (the past 1 1/2 weeks) my computer has been crashing on every single game I play. Sometimes I can go for an hour and a half, sometimes not even a round. Specs: 3070 FE, b550m, 64 gb corsair vengeance 3200mz, 850w gold psp, 5900x. I have monitored my temps and usage, limited fps in the game, minimal settings, maximum settings, rolled back drivers, reupdated them, turned on and off eco-mode, and turned on and off overclocking. ram is in all of the way, nothing changed physically in the PC other than I applied new thermal paste to see if that was the issue a couple of days after the crashing started. Usually, my games turn black and turn off. I've tried everything. I bluescreen sometimes as well. I could take the CMOS battery out of my motherboard but idk if that would do anything. Does anybody have any idea how I could fix this? My friends can't play any games with me anymore because I can't join them after every round. Below is the crash code for Fortnite. Any help would be very appreciated.
  21. As the title says I’ve been trying to get this pc working again but nothing is working unfortunately. I'm extremely frustrated at this point. So for context this PC was built less than a year ago with no issues at all, especially none like this. But all of the sudden, after downloading the Sims 4, this pc now crashes anywhere 2-20 minutes into gameplay. The crash is odd, nothing seems to spike in msi afterburner or at least anything obvious. The game functions normally and smoothly and then the whole pc just stops. Nothing can be done and the only solution was to force it to shut down. And this same thing happens over and over again, the only thing that changes is how long it takes for it to crash. And this applies to any game now. But only if a game is running. So after many different tests for memory, graphics card and driver issues nothing has really shown an issue until recently. At this point its been frustrating, I’ve never had an issue quite like this with any PC I’ve dealt with. So today after trying the chkdsk command on the C drive, it had stopped at stage 4 and wouldn’t continue, so I decided that a clean install of windows and wiping everything else would probably do the trick. But no, using the reset feature only worked until 34ish percent and wouldn’t continue. So instead I prepared a windows install USB drive and reinstalled it that way. It seemed to have worked, pc moves even a bit quicker and all seems well. Then after reinstalling and testing Sims 4 once again it crashes after about 20 minutes of gameplay but it’s much different than what it was doing before. This crash froze for a second but then almost the whole game went black with some color here and there and weirdly colored pixels in other spots, and then eventually the whole screen turned black. Plus I heard fans spinning pretty fast in the pc before having to force shut it off. However it crashed like it did earlier once the latest graphic drivers were installed. Since then I have also tried, resetting bios settings, disabling XMP, and updating the bios to no avail. I’m unsure where to go from here, any and all advice and help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading! For reference the specs are -Asus EVO oc edition 2060 -Corsair 650 watt power supply -Ryzen 7 5800x -500 gb solid state drive -2 tb hard drive -2 x 8 ddr4 3600 mHz ram -MSI Mag b550 tomohawk motherboard Please let know if there’s anything else I can do to help
  22. A few weeks ago, I began to have issues with my computer and that some games crash out of nowhere, and the error codes don't help (if they even tell me error codes). I believe it started when I downloaded a Windows update, updated my BIOS and updated my graphics drivers all around the same time. After that, the newly updated Cyberpunk 2077 (no mods), started crashing. Sometimes when I launch the game, other times when I would be in the middle of playing (start of cutscenes, loading screens, combat, and even when walking around Night City). I began trying different games, such as Call of Duty: MW2 (2022), and the moment character models loaded, the game would crash. There were times I thought it to be Activision's fault, but after trying more single player games, (Last of Us Part 1, Life is Strange: True Colors) the crashing would happen shortly after launch. Except for one game, Street Fighter 6. Without fail, the game always launched and always played, zero crashes. So, I thought it to be a graphics issue, so I reinstalled drivers, even clean whiping them and installing them again, but the issues persist. Then I thought it to be the BIOS updates, so I backed it up to the previous BIOS update, which was working before all of this happened. Still, the issue remained. I tried internal system diagnosis for RAM and general system checks but they all came back clear. I ran benchmarks to stress test the RAM, GPU, and CPU and no crashes. I even reinstalled Windows and nothing helped. I tried so many different tests and system checks (nothing third party). Some of the tests got some of the games to stop crashing, but my White Whale (CP2077) still crashed, no matter what I tried. So, I took the dive and removed one of my RAM sticks to see if it's a hardware issue (I have been hoping it wasn't, because I didn't want to risk opening my system and making things worse). Well, with only 1 stick in the system, CoD runs buttery smooth, CP2077 crashes significantly less, and most games have no issues. So I thought it was the RAM (reasonable assumption) but when I bought new RAM, the old issues came back up, so I'm now thinking it's a Mobo issue, that maybe the BIOS updates screwed up the memory or something. If there is anyone who has had a similar problem, and somehow fixed it, please let me know what to test next. 25. Issue: Experiencing an interesting type of crash I believe is coming from the GPU. When running video games or other graphically intensive applications like Heaven Benchmark 4.0, Red Dead Redemption 2, Blender Renders, etc. This crash causes both of my monitors to go black, and into 'inactive' mode. Audio will continue playing through my headphones, but I always have to press the power button to let windows shut down and reset the driver before I can get video back. Also on a rare occasion, when booting the PC after a crash, the windows login screen will display very odd artifacting, which only a quick glance at the bios (don't need to change anything) will resolve. When the driver crashes, the GPU will display a red LED light indication next to the 12pin Nvidia PCIE power cable adapter, which I believe from my research indicates that no power is coming into the unit. The same Red LED turns on when the system is off, and stays on until the system is booted. When the GPU crashes and the LED turns on, about 60 seconds later the LED will turn back off, showing the unit has power, but the display drivers do not recover (until I press the power button and let windows shut down). I have taken a video of the crashing process which I can easily replicate, running Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and monitoring HWinfo, I'll attach a screenshot to this thread in a reply below. To my knowledge, there is not any temperatures out of line, nor is there appear to be any abnormal voltages. I have taken the following steps in my own troubleshooting process: - Fresh install Windows 11 - Set everything to default values in BIOS - Reseat GPU into PCIe Lane - Move the GPU one PCIe Lane down - Reseat all power cables between GPU and PSU - Roll back Nvidia Driver from 522.25 to 516.59 - Roll back BIOS from 1720 to 1505 - Turn on/off XMP Profile 1 - Move M.2 drive off of the shared Gen5 lane with GPU - Replace/Upgraded Display Port Cable and HDMI Cable running to my monitors - Swapped GPU out for an old EVGA 1050ti and ran HeavenBenchmark4 with no crash Thanks for coming to my ted talk, am happy to discuss and troubleshoot further, and provide more screenshots. I will be available to do so. Not sure if I have a Lemon GPU on my hands and need to RMA or if there is some deeper compatibility issues with the rig I have built.
