Dear LTT Community, This has been happening on/off for most of my time owning this PC (self-built), however, it has been rising in frequency recently (eventually coming to the point where it crashes on every render). Details of renders: I was trying to render a simple 6 minute video, with basic effects (Blur, and stock animated text). At first, I edited it with Davinci Resolve, and my pc crashed while rendering, (even while rendering with cached images). However, this has also been happening with Sony Vegas 18, a popular video editing software. (1080p 24-30 fps video) Crash Info: When the computer "crashed", the fans were still running, the RGB lights were still on (power button, RAM, GPU), the GPU fans were still on, and it seemed that the PC was still running, BUT my monitor said there was no signal to the computer. My mouse also had its RGB lights blinking weirdly whenever I made a click. So, the monitor lost signal, however the pc (from looking at it) still seems to be functioning. I checked thermals with MSI Afterburner, and I put the fans on max (with the fans on max, the temp was around 40-43 degrees while rendering). Without fans, temps were at 55+ (Celsius). Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x Six-Core processor (4.05GHz overclock) Motherboard: B450 GAMING PLUS MAX (MS-7B86) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB Memory: 16 GB 3200mhz Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB HDD 240 GB SSD (Forgot brand, sorry!) Any ideas on how I could fix/prevent this? I'm not sure if this is a thermal problem, or a software problem, as this was my first PC build, so I have minimal knowledge about thermals. Thanks so much guys! First forum post of my life, so if I am in the wrong forum or thread, let me know!

I was playing Borderlands the pre-sequel with friends when my screen turned black/gray with a buzzing audio, which led to my pc restarting, but now with very distorted graphics and only booting up to a very distorted repair screen. I tried removing and putting back the ram and gpu but with no differences happening. I tried going into bios but it just led to a distorted screen with a “_” in the top left corner I’m waiting for a friend who’s gonna lend me another GPU tomorrow to determine if its a gpu issue or not PC Specs: Ryzen 5 2600 B450 Tomahawk Max Gigabyte RX570 T.Force Nighthawk 2x8 3200mhz ram EVGA 650w Bronze PSU

So here is the deal. I have had my first build run fine for the past 4 years. Granted its been under heavy use for gaming and used often. Recently I had a hard crash on my PC in which i powered of the PC and back on. Since that hard crash, every time I load up a game it will run perfectly fine for a few minutes(10 -15) with out any issues. Then all of the sudden I will loose signal to my monitor and my computer will continue to run or just turn off(black screen, have not had a blue screen yet). It is very consistent, my PC will run fine while web surfing or video. It will also not crash when i run a benchmark such as heaven or furmark. My temperatures seem to be low and just fine. CPU Running in the 50-60 C range and gpu running between 60-70 range. I have run a mem test for ram, no errors were realized. I have dusted off and blown out pci slots and ram slots. I have completely reset drivers and reset windows.I am at a loss. I believe it is a hard ware issue either GPU or PSU but am torn on how to move forward to confirm exactly what my issue is. My computer specs are as followed Intel I7-6700k @ 4.00 Ghz EVGA Geforce GTX 980 TI EVGA Z170 FTW EVGA NEX 750 PSU GG.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM I hope some one in this community might be able to help me. I brought my pc into a tech store and 95 dollars later i am no closer to fixing this issue.

My Lenovo IdeaPad 320 crashed with the 2004 update which it did by itself and when it asked for a restart I hit restart and it never came back on. Have it to the local engineer and he says everything is fine. But I noticed that my laptop doesn't run on battery anymore, I've to keep it plugged in to use and when I use it the battery section gets really hot compared to the CPU. Some to Microsoft care and he asked to reinstall the complete is on the whole system, but now after couple to restarts is not doing anything anymore. To make things worst my screen was broken on the laptop but I always used it with an external monitor and never got it repaired, now the laptop didn't show anything on the monitor either.. I still can't use the laptop without the charger, , still getting a red light near the charging port, nothing on either of the screens, doesnt even let me too into bios. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME OUT PLEASE....

I hardly ever post on the forum, but I wanted to share this: I was watching some YouTube today in Chrome on my PC and noticed that the YouTube player broke when I tried to watch a Saturday Night Live clip. Audio would play, but no video would play, and I couldn't click on the player to start/stop like normal. I tried refreshing, but that didn't help. I tried opening another SNL video, but it still didn't play. I opened a video from another YouTuber and it played just fine. Back to SNL videos, and it broke again. I opened Firefox and tried to watch an SNL video and it worked! I was confused, but shrugged and went on watching. Then a pre-roll ad showed on the next SNL video and I realized that I had AdBlock turned off for YouTube in Firefox. I re-enabled AdBlock, and what do you know, the SNL video YouTube player broke in Firefox in the same way as it did in Chrome. Brainblast. I had figured it out. I went to Chrome and disabled AdBlock, and poof, the video worked again. TL;DR: SNL YouTube videos only display on my PC when AdBlock is disabled in Chrome/Firefox. Does anybody know what's going on? Does this happen the same way for everyone else? This seems super shady.

Hi, I have been running a Gt 440 (yes old tech) for over a year now and i recently ran into the issue where my Nvidia Kernal drivers would continuosly crash if playing games or when a program freezes. I have tried a full reinstall of the drivers after cleaning from the drive using 'UDD'. I have added the TdrDelay command to the regedit of the graphicscards which helped a little but was very bugged with games, a full factory reset of the pc. I am sure it isnt an issue with the gpu as i will work fine in another build. If anyone knows what could be causing this or any fixes please help out, It would be greatly appreciated.

The issue: I am having a major issue with Windows 10 (well, ever since I upgraded to Windows 10) where my computer will just stop responding and the only way to get it to go again is the hard reset button on my case. When it happens: The issue seems to always happen when I leave my computer for any length of time, at least that's what I thought. I have now worked out why it always happens when I leave my computer! It's because I always lock my PC using winkey+L Now it just sits there on the lock screen and does nothing, for a while. But then SOMETIMES I will come back and my monitor is off, my keyboard caps lock, num lock & scroll lock key lights do not function and my mouse just lights up like normal. But I CANNOT get the PC to respond again. No keyboard or mouse inputs work. The computer is on (fans spinning, hard drive ticking, network light flashing etc) but no friggin response at all. Things I have tried: Driver updates Not locking the PC (not a solution unfortunately) Mouse and keyboard inputs (but doesnt work) Checking for monitor signal (there isn't one) Things I don't want to do however: Fresh OS install The temp solution I hate this issue because when I press the reset button on my case, I am playing Russian roulette with my hard drive and also if I had any work or games open before I locked my PC, then that is GONE! If anyone knows what is going on then please suggest anything, no such thing as a stupid answer! I am desperate here. PS: Bonus nachos if you get it first time! PSS: $5CAD for the working solution (if it's not against forum rules!)

Hey guys! So, I made changes to the Nvidia Control Panel the other day, trying to optimize quality and performance. I have an Nvidia gtx 970 sc, and I looked at videos and other forums to figure out the best settings for the Control Panel. So, I had some weird fps drops in CSGO, and when I went to open the control panel to reset to the default settings, my PC crashed. It does this whenever I open it up now. I was hoping reinstalling it would work, but I cant figure out how to do that since I can't find the application in Windows "Remove or Change a Program." Specs: 64-bit windows 10 Intel Core i5 6600k @ 3.5Ghz 16GB DDR4 RAM 650 Watt PSU Nvidia GTX 970 sc SMBIOS version: 3.0 BIOS Version/Date- American Megathreads Inc. 11/16/2015 I also get error message when it crashes, however, I can't take any screenshots, well because, it crashes. Thanks for the help guys! I can't thank you guys enough! Seriously, thank you

Hi guys, Long story short, we had a RAID 5 array. If you went into Disk Management on Windows 2k8 server, two of the drives had the (!) Yellow exclamation point on them. One said Online. The other said Errors. The RAID drives all had "Failed Redundancy" on them. So, when we tried to replace the drive that had "Errors" on it, the thing didn't rebuild. When we tried to stick the drive with errors back in to try and get the system up and running temporarily, it didn't like that. Not one bit. So now we are in emergency recovery mode. Can someone shed some light on what those exclamation points really mean, and why the RAID failed right after we took a single drive out that had Errors on it? Whatever that means. FYI, this is a picture I got from the Disk Management page last Thursday: So yeah. Any help in understanding why it suddenly failed would be great. If it failed because we pulled the wrong drive, it would have fixed itself when we put it back. It didn't. If it failed because the other drive failed (the one with the (!) but still online), then I could understand it. But ... that timing. It just seems too convenient. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Vitalius.
