Hey, I installed the FPS unlocker mod for Elden Ring a few days ago and I love that there is developers out there doing this kind of stuff for games that force Vsync at 60fps. However, the performance is not as good as I expected it to be. I reach roughly 75-100 fps on 1440p (max settings) with my setup and I've read that that people with similar setups are reaching 60fps at 4K. I've messed around with the settings in-game and they don't seem to be affecting fps more than 5-10. During gameplay I see that GPU-Z logs roughly 30-40% GPU Usage with PerfCap Reason: Idle which I find strange. CPU usage is roughly 20%. No temperature bottlenecks anywhere. Anyone who has experienced similar issues? Is this an ELDEN RING issue? Is there anything I could do that will impact my FPS and get my to higher GPU and CPU usage. Wish I could get it to lock on 165fps. RTX 4080 3900X 32GB RAM

I recently noticed that task manager always indicates that my cpu is sitting at 100% usage. Despites having no lag whatsoever, no problems, the processor not heating up, the cpu fan not spinning that much, etc.... So basically every indicator is all green except for the official microsoft one. And when using a "proper task manager" like Process Hacker I get results more in line with what I except. So my question is, did anyone noticed similar results recently ? Did microsoft messed up again ?

Hi, I've got constant 20% CPU usage in my task manager on the "windows explorer" process even while I'm running a prime95 stress test. I accidentally installed Avast antivirus the other day, but immediately uninstalled it. That's what's causing this isn't it? So anyways, should I use their avast removal tool instead or is that just going to cause more bloatware as well?

Hi everyone, I recently noticed while I am gaming that my cpu usage is kinda low and I was wondering if that's why my fps went down while playing Warzone 2. Almost every monitoring program that I could find displays the same percentage. Isn't it a bit odd for a game that's more cpu based to have such a low cpu utilization? I know that Warzone 2 is extremely unoptimized game, but at the same time I feel like I could have a lot more fps since few months ago I did. 3 Months ago I had R9 390 combined with this cpu and I got around 70fps most of the time, while with 5700XT I am getting 50fps on avg. Hi! I'ts my first time posting here. I recently built my first PC by gutting an old rig I was gifted and replacing most of the components with some parts I found on the used market. The specs are as follows: - Intel i5 10400f with OEM fan - PowerColor Hellhound RX 6600 - Corsair vengeance 16gb RAM (2400Mhz increased to 2667 with XMP) - Asrock H510M-HDV/M.2 - Kingston 480 GB SSD + Seagate 2 TB HHD - Talius 600W PSU (Not replaced) - Generic Mars Gaming case (Kept from old build) The PC seems to run quite well all things considered, but I have run into a slight issue trying to monitor my CPU usage while playing games. Using something more CPU intensive like RPCS3 only reports me a CPU usage below 20 percent, while clearly noticing my fan ramp up. AMD Adrenalin drivers seem to report a similarly reduced CPU usage percentage to MSI Afterburner, while task manager shows the processor ramping up to 100%, the other things seem to be OK. I'm not really sure what could have caused this difference, I haven't really touched BIOS settings apart from XMP (I think I noticed this issue before changing that). If you know anything that could resolve this issue (or any other issue I might have, really) I would really appreciate the help! I have attached an image below:

Hello, Im having low fps despite low cpu and gpu usage. It doesnt go above 40% but my fps is 53 at ultra on Dota 2. If I decrease the quality setting my fps increases. But why would it not use more recourse to get me more FPS on ultra? I don't know what to do. My gpu drivers are up to date and my psu is enough 550 wats. The temperature of CPU and GPU are also fine. Everything is set to high preformance. This problem occurred recently before that i used to play on ultra with no problem. Any advice will be appreciated. Also will it help if i upgrade my gpu and get like an gtx1050. I just dont know why my utilization is so low My spec are Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2 CPU: i3 4130 GPU: GTX 750 TI RAM: 2x4 1333 Mhz

This started a few days ago, i noticed chrome suddenly had a white screen for 1-2 seconds uopon loading , but it didn't make sense to me as for why. Now i noticed theres also really high cpu usage, up to 50% with just a few tabs open (that would typically be 5-10%...) and then I read "google software reporter tool" might be the culprit - im not sure about that, but i then checked the "logs", and there are only "errors" in all 3 logs it creates, ie. 100% error rate... So now the question is what now? Id reinstall chrome but im not sure about saved passwords (i wrote them down just in case though) and especially connected services, such as epic games store... is that stuff saved to my account, or do i need to "sync" that first? Note: Im convinced "sync" doesn't work, it didn't last time i tried (it said everything is synced, but didn't actually import anything, also said there are no passwords stored, even though they obviously were previously) So how do i fix this? especially the high cpu usage is annoying as heck obviously. PC seems to work perfectly fine otherwise, its really just Chrome acting up...

I was just wondering how Valorant can cause 95-99 percent CPU usage while it's the only thing running on my system when I'm playing it. I do stream on this pc and I am suspicious that the high CPU usage spikes is causing my stream to have occasional fps drops when I'm playing Valorant. Keep in mind that this never happens when I stream other games. Even Valhalla runs smooth on my 720p 30fps stream. My system specs are: i3 8100 GTX 1060 6gb 16gb ram dual channel 3200mhz WD Green SATA SSD 240g I find this very odd as all my other games are on my HDD and the games I play there are AC: Valhalla, Genshin Impact, RotR, SotTR. These games never caused high CPU usage/spikes. They normally sit at 60-85% which doesn't cause my stream to lag. I will appreciate any thoughts about this.. Thank you so much!

Specs: GPU: RTX 3070 8GB GAMING OC (rev 2.0) CPU: AMD 5 Ryzen 3600 RAM: Corsair vengeance 16gb 3000mhz MoBo: MSI B550-A-PRO PSU: Corsair RM750W I've been getting low GPU and CPU usage in various games I've been playing (Hell Let Loose, Squad, Tarkov) the usage varies depending what game but is always low, in HLL my GPU can sometimes be 20-40% and CPU around the same. I play on Ultra settings at 1080p resolution. HLL I get 50 FPS, Squad I get 90 FPS, Tarkov is around 70-80 FPS. I've tried various fixes which include: Adjusting Nvidia Panel 3D panel settings e.g turning power management to high performance, setting a few other settings to high performance. I've performed a DDU and installed latest driver and even before that I did I manual uninstall and installed the latest driver. I've updated BIOS, Ive updated MoBo Drivers, I've turned off Xbox Game bar and gaming mode. I've turned off high precision event timer, I've turned off fast boot. I made sure my RAM is Dual Channelling. I reset BIOS and made sure to change RAM MHZ to 3000. My power mode is set to Ryzen High Performance. I feel Like I've done everything at this point. I built this pc about 4 months ago but had a 1050ti in it as I was unable to get my hands on a GPU, and I got my 3070 about a week ago. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey, so I'm streaming on an R7 260X and an i3-2120 (terrible, I know, nothing I can do about that) and I can stream CS:GO on a relatively watchable framerate with the CPU pegged at 100% all the time. Now, I'm wondering, can I increase the bit-rate without increasing CPU usage? Because my GPU encoder is only being used like 20% max.

Soo, I'm 14 had a job over the summer to pay for a new pc. I bought this pc less than a month ago, and no I did not build one because of gpu prices. It is a hoP pavilion prebuilt with a i3 10100 1650 super and 8gb of ram. For storage i have a 250 gb intel optane m.2 ssd and a 1tb western digital blue. My problem is that as soon as I got the pc, I realized that my temps are normal for a prebuilt, but the gpu and cpu usage is extremely low. For example in Rust, a gpu intensive game, I get about 50% of both gpu and cpu usage and this is even on the highest settings possible. On Call of Duty Warzone, i get around 70% of both in game. In games like Minecraft im getting about 20% gpu and about 10%cpu usage. I have tried everything I can think of and watched way to many youtube videos and read way to many forms. I did a full reset of my gpu drivers using ddu, ive checked bios for anything, but did not see much because the bios is limited. I have even changed everything to high performance in nvidia control panel. pls someone help me this is starting to piss me off. Keep in mind even when games are maxed, expect warzone cuz that is way to much vram.

I own a lenovo v130 laptop with an i3 8130u and Intel HD 620 gfx, Ive started noticing that everytime I boot up my laptop and boot up Valorant, it stutters on every single update in the game, for example, everytime i buy a new gun or reload a specific gun, theres a specific explosion or a specific flash, my game freezes for upto 4 seconds till that material/asset renders onto my ram maybe and then continues normally, this occurs ofcourse even when the enemy shoots at me for the first time or if they die, or when theres a GUI update in game. This howerver all goes away as soon as I restart the game, all files load up in an instant (i have the game running on barelt playable settings for good fps, @480p). Can anyone explain why this happens and how to fix this? and yes the CPU usage spikes up everytime theres those update stutters, but there are no spikes when i restart the game and play normally. Please help me out .

Hey. Whenever I run my computer for more than a few hours "WMI Provider Host" usage seems to spike up to around 40-60%. I've tried running Security Task Manager, Malwarebytes, and it seems like this is some problem with the Windows process itself. I've done quite a bit of research and it seems like it's probably some 3rd party program creating hundreds of instances, since I have seen programs called "CMD.exe" and others along the same line with PIDs up in the 18000s. Is there any way I can identify which program may be causing this? I've attached a Process Explorer screenshot. Specs (Laptop): Intel i5-8250U 8GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce MX130 One strange thing is that I have experienced some issues with sound drivers however I was able to solve this by reinstalling the Realtek drivers. Could that be a part of the issue? Thanks in advance!

Hello guys!I have a problem with cpu usage.I have an I7 9700 and in idle 2 cores are goes to 100% which is 25% usage but when i wanted to see what use my cpu and open my task manager usage goes back to normal about 3-5% and after about 20 minutes goes up again. Then i downloaded Advanced system care and took a look at performance monitor. There i found the process called "decompress" and it uses 25% when idle. How can i solve this problem?I tried malwarebytes and ASC scans and it didn't help.

Hello! so, I have this problem where when I open Chrome every time it makes the CPU stay at 100% usage for a while because I have a bunch of tabs opened and it loads every single one of them it seems. Is there a way to make it load only the one I'm focused on? and load the other ones only when I click on them. Would greatly appreciate if you can help me with this, thank you in advance

Can someone show me a video (phone is good idea) of Afterburner's activity on task manager when running in the background on idle? I would like to compare its cpu usage to GPU Tweak, but I don't want to install Afterburner just for that.

Hi, i was wondering if games where supposed to use all (of most) of your cpu and gpu usage. An example: minecraft with (sildurs) shaders runs on an average of 90 fps on my laptop. It uses around 40% of cpu usage and 50% of gpu usage. My laptop isnt getting hot (its actually still pretty cool) and the vans dont make a lot of noise and power saver mode is off. i was wondering why doesnt my laptop use more cpu and gpu power to increase my fps further? is this normal? This happens not only in minecraft btw. (laptop is plugged in btw, and there is enough allocated ram for minecraft, and there arent any apps running in the background) Specs: Lenovo legion 5, i7-10750h,1660 TI,16 G of ram.

Is it normal or not? Anybody ever find this thing ?

I'm having some weird issues with my i5 6600k. Sorry for all the typos but I tried to type it fast cpu: i5 6600k gpu: GTX 1060 mobo: z170m-d3h stable overclock at 4.6 no crashes through aida64 stress test. idle cpu usage is around 3-6%. but right when i jump into any game it hits 100% cpu usage right away and like 60-80% usage in main menu/LOBBY. i reinstalled steam, games, and even windows...TWICE and no lucK and no change. Games are smooth as butter but what doesnt make sense is the cpu usage. people on forums are averaging 40-50% usage in-game on a BASE CLOCK. and when i switch back to base clock i still get 100% cpu usage. temperatures are fine tho, never ever went above 51C. i was running 1.38 v for 4.6 but i tried to make my computer crash just to test if the oc was working at all. so i dropped the voltage to 1.295V running 4.9GHZ which should be an automatic crash yet it still runs stable only utilizing 1.27 v. but right now my cpu is at its base clock and i would say performance is about the same. I reset the CMOS on my motherboard and tried to force a crash and it crashed at 1.100V 4.4GHZ. I believe that my computer is reading the CPU usage incorrectly and its bottlnecking my entire PC? Ive been searching for 2 months everyday and im getting exhausted and also not getting any closer to the solution. Pls send halps ):

Hi! I've been looking online for sometime now, and I still can't find an answer. When I'm playing games like Killing Floor 2 (I'm assuming it's GPU intensive) because I get a perfect 60FPS at Ultra details. However, when I look in the task manager, my CPU is hovering around 5-10%, and is displaying as being clocked at 0.77GHz? (See image attached!) I've come to the conclusion that my CPU is just faulty, but please someone confirm this! Thank you! My specifications: i5 4690k stock MSI GTX980 4GB MSI Z97 MPower motherboard Corsair DDR3 1866MHz ThermalTake SmartM 850w 80+ Bronze All my games are loaded on a Samsung 840 Evo SSD.

I've been running into a recent issue with a laptop idling at close to 20% constantly, with a high CPU usage on a single core. From what I can tell after a bit of diagnosing it might be a driver issue since the system (~15%) and system interrupts processes is somewhat high at around 3%. Anyone have an idea what would be a good method of pin pointing the problem? Laptop is a Samsung 3615QM GT 640M 8GB RAM Windows 10

Hey guys so recently my CPU usage on my i5 4690k is rly high. In idle its around 30% usage. When i searched for the problem i saw that the svchost.exe is using 25% of my CPU, and then i saw that my Firewall uses rly much of my CPU.
-
Hey guys, so today i started my pc and my CPU usage was at 30% while i didn't do anything. Then i started Overwatch and my CPU usage went up and was all the time between 80% to 100% usage while normaly it is around 50%. My CPU is an i5 4690 and it is about 1 year old.

I am having really strange gaming performance issues with my new Dell 7567 gaming laptop (core i5-7300HQ, 8gb ram, gtx1050ti 4gb, running all available windows, driver, and bios updates). Basically some games (Doom, and No Man's Sky in particular) experience extremely high cpu usage in either full screen mode, while in windowed mode, with borders, the games would run as expected based on the hardware. I'm not sure if I explained that well enough, so I attached some pics of the Doom in game overlay to hopefully show what is happening. Even though these are shown using the Vulkan API, I have verified that it also happens using OpenGL. So I am wondering if anyone knows what is happening and if there is a fix for it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
