So I have been tooking at temps on my laptop while gaming for as long as I have owned it and tried many different things to keep them reasonable, but they will still spike at times. I know it is a laptop and cooling with a laptop is not easy. As such I have gotten used to seeing temps from low 70s (less intense games) up to high 80s (more intense games) on the CPU. Every now and then I have seen it spike for a couple minutes into the 90s, but that does not happen often. The GPU generally keeps temps around 68-76 in most cases I have thankfully not seen those spike much at all. Now that I am getting a desktop I should be able to do more to keep the temps reasonable. I have gotten so complacent with the temps I get on my laptop (I really can't change much more than I already have here) I want to check with you all what are temperature ranges I should be shooting for on my CPU and GPU. Case: Raimax x603 Mesh front (3 120mm fans in front) CPU: 13700KF CPU Cooler: DEEPCOOL LS720 GPU: 4070 ASUS Duel If you need to see the other specs for a better idea of what I am working with let me know. -
HWinfo says my cpu max temperature is 95°C, so I wondered whether either HWinfo can be wrong or why my cpu is that hot and what normal thermals are for idle and load. -
I have an AMD 3600 with a stock cooler. This is going to sound really weird, so there is this trend i've been noticing with my CPU Temp. The first day when I play a new game my temps are normal, e.g 73c then after a few days of playing the game my CPU temps go to 80c. It's not just in one game, its been in many. For example theHunter, I was playing the first day or two, perfectly normal temps e.g 73 then the couple days its 80 to 87. Exact same with a game called Ready or Not. First few days 73c then all off a sudden 80c to 85c. Now I know you guys are going to say external factors like ambience, i've made sure ambience is the same, i'm playing the same levels and going in the same areas, so its not like its only hotter in some areas or when more load is happening. My CPU cooler is seated correctly and my PC is clean. No updates for the games happened that may have caused them and also in task manager no other apps were taking a lot of CPU usage expect for the game. Also It's even when i start to play the game, it's not like i have been gaming for hours so the temps have been slowly rising. ofc i could get a new cooler, however how come the first few days my temps are fine? I could be trippin, i have no idea.

Hi I am thinking of buying a new cpu cooler, is there any better cpu cooler on to what iam using right now (Noctua NH-D15 Chromax) just one fan installed in the middle and using a thermal paste of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut On idle it's getting 40-50 degrees , on Gaming it get 60-77 degrees I am just concern of these temperatures. is there anything i can do ? On this ? or is there a better CPU Cooler or AIO ? Thanks

So I'm not sure if my PC is overheating or not but my CPU reaching temps of 98 degrees C. While Apex Legends was running the current temps were like 95, 96 and 98 degrees Celsius. Is this a problem? If so how can I fix it. I am running the stock CPU cooler that the Ryzen 5 5600x comes with but since it comes with it I highly doubt that the cooler isn't good enough. I also have 3 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan. Could it be my settings? Nvidia GeForce? Idk.

Just yesterday I noticed my CPU cooler was ramping up from time to time when I was just browsing google. I opened up HWiNFO and started to see when my temps were spiking to try to narrow it down and it seems like it's only when I reload or open new webpages, not even new chrome tabs. My 2600x idles at around 35-40c but now it occasionally spikes to 55-60c and immediately goes back down. I got on Eden Ring to see if temps are even worse than before now with this problem going on and they haven't, it stays at around 60c when gaming. Anyone have any idea on where I should start troubleshooting to fix the issue? I don't think it's a mounting or thermal paste problem as I switched coolers 7 months ago and have not had any problems until now. I also have not recently installed any new programs or have anything running the background that I know of either. -
hello,after a bios update ive seen the cpu hitting higher temps while video rendering it used to reach peak 64 celcius and now ive noticed 77..way higher,does anyone know what happened? cpu: 3900x stock motherboard: gigabyte x570 aorus pro thnx

I am playing Uncharted 4 on a 3060 ti and an i7 9700k with 32gb of ram and the i7 has been revving up more than some other games, are these temps fine? I made sure the shader cache was completed before loading the game. The i7 is being cooled by a Noctua U12s Chromax at stock with ram at 3600 mhz, with Asus MCE disabled on the motherboard and vccio and vcsaa below 1.2v P.S: It is 28c inside my room according to my thermostat.

Cpu - Ryzen 5 1600 Cpu Cooler - Antec A30 (bcz i had it laying around) Motherboard - Asus b350 Prime Plus Ram - Corsair Vengeance 2400 8x2 cl16 Gpu 1 - Asus Dual Rx580 8GB Gpu 2 - Rog Rx560 4GB Psu - CoolerMaster MWE 500watt Case - Corsair Spec 01 Now my questions: Is there anything wrong with that build? Can i overclock my cpu and memory? If yes how? Bcz i don't know anything about overclocking Now my problems: R5 1600 has a base clock of 3.2ghz but if i set System Tuning to Asus Optimal it sets my cpu to 3.5 and there was no issue i stress tested it for 30mins with Aida64 Extreme with the stock cooler it was hitting 70°c i used that sins 2017 December so when i changed my cpu cooler i thought of overclocking it to 3.7 or 3.8 so i stress tested it again and it and it was hitting 80°c after 2-3 mins so i stopped it and i reset the bios and reinstalled windows and i run Aida64 again and it was hitting 86°c and shut down my ambient temp is 26°c and my pc is clean has new thermal paste and air is pretty good i think.

First of all, hi everyone and thanks in advance, my name is Marco and I decided to build the second computer of my life and I'm having a question about CPU temperatures. Here are the specs, so that I can explain better later on: Case: Fractal Design Node 202 with Integra 450W PSU; Motherboard: Gigabyte Ga-H270N-WiFi; CPU: Intel i5-7500; CPU Cooler: Cryorig C7; RAM: 1x8GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4; SSD: Crucial MX300 M.2 Sata, 275GB; HDD: Hitachi Travelstar 1TB 2.5 7200RPM; Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Windforce Fans: Two Fractal Design 120mm PWM fans. Sorry I can't remember the name. I think that's all. So now, I want to describe the "problem" that I have. I'm having higher CPU temps than I was expecting with an aftermarket CPU Cooler. AIDA64, at idle, gives me a reading of around 34°C (about 93° F). Now, I know that this is not that bad and I know that the case is actually really small so temps can be tricky to handle, but, still, given that I have something like 20°C (68° F) in my room I think that it's too high. I checked the CPU Cooler and it's not moving or anything (of course the fan is moving, I mean the actual cooler is sitting still over the CPU) and I think I applied the right quantity of thermal paste (the one provided by the CPU Cooler). Cable management is as good as it can be in such a tiny case. I tried to run AIDA64 stress test for 10 minutes and the max temperature that I got was 57°C (134°F). That, again, is not disastrous, but higher than what I was expecting. GPU temps are actually pretty good, so no problem there. Is there anyone that can explain such readings? Am i being paranoid for no reason? Sorry if I made any mistake but I'm actually Italian, so my English might be not perfect. If this is a silly question I'm sorry. Thanks again, I hope someone can give me an advice.

Hey, I was trying to overclock my system. I set the multipliers to 41x, and the Base is kept untouched at 100 MHz. Can you guys tell if the CPU temps are okay for everyday usage? The screenshot is attached below.

I am building another computer and I'm seeing what I think might be an unusual CPU temp. I'm waiting for a boot drive to come in, so I'm not in the operating system yet, just the motherboard bios. The motherboard I have is the Asrock fatal1ty Z270 Gaming ITX/ac and I have an i7 6700K installed with Cryorig C1 140mm CPU cooler, and air flow in case is great. But motherboard bios is saying my CPU temp is 52.0C to 55.0C? Is this something I should be worried about? I have not overclocked it yet, and my CPU voltage is running at 1.264 (stock sense I have not changed any settings yet) Please help! ! !

I'm using a Corsair H100I GTX on a 4790k stock speed and getting temps of 73C at 60% load during gaming. Also when i put my hand on the back of the rad i can only feel a small amount of warmth coming from the very bottom of the rad. Im using Arctic Silver Ceramique. It also done this with the factory stuff and Arctic Silver 5. I have the fans pulling air and the tubes are on the bottom of the rad. Do you think it might not have been filled properly? Don't think its gunked since its always acted like this. The case its in is a Antec 1200 way more than enough ventilation. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi guys, So I recently decided to overclock my G3258, but I am quite a noob. I have a stock intel cooler and a 650-watt power supply with a Z97 PC-Mate motherboard. Also, I own a Strix GTX 960 OC II 2gb. I don't know what to do with the voltage, what is normal? what is high voltage? From what I understand, increasing the voltage makes the CPU warmer but also more stable. What is an acceptable temperature for my CPU? in Linus's overclocking guide he had his G3258 overclocked to 4.7 GHz with 49 degrees temp. While running idle, my CPU runs at ~42 degrees. I don't know the cpu voltage or core voltage. If you need more info, please tell me. Regards, Jeremy

What temps can I expect to get with the i7-6700k (no overclock) with a hyper 212 EVO? Is it worth getting the corsair h100i v2 to allow Overclocking in the future? thanks

So, yesterday, I bought the Dell G7 laptop with RTX 2060 6 GB DDRM and Intel I7-9750H. I set up the laptop, deleted Mcafee and installed HWmoniter and all of a sudden my fans went wild. They went silent in about a minute but would start up again randomly. I looked at my temps and the max value for my CPU was 91 C. FREAKING 91. So I thought maybe I should run a demanding game to see how the machine performs. I installed and opened GTA V. The first weird thing I noticed was that the movement of my curser wasn't smooth. I went to the settings and the game had set its settings to the lowest possible so I thought that maybe it hadn't recognized my GPU so I restarted the game and everything looked fine in the settings. I changed some settings and ran about 3 benchmarks, minimized the game, checked my CPU temps and the highs were in FREAKING 90s. I mean, what the heck? Surprisingly, even with such high temps, the benchmarks showed consistent 60 FPS with occasional dips to mid-50s. I shut down the game and downloaded Cinebench. I ran five stress tests in a row and the temps start out with low 90's but soon drop to low 80's. My average score was 2725 pts. So, what do you guys think? I only have around 14 days to return it so I'd like to find out if there are any issues as soon as possible. I really love this machine and saved for a long time to be able to afford it. I wouldn't want all that to go to waste.

So, I've been building computers since 1990 - professionally in the early days, before I moved on to more interesting jobs - I still know how to get a good contact with the CPU cooler, and in all the systems I've built, I never had a CPU going to 100 C, when its not really doing much. Not even one of Windows more annoying services spiking CPU load massively has ever caused me a problem in 28 Years. I've never gotten a system back from a customer because of overheating, its been a non-issue. I don't even want to know what will happen when I run a real load on it, like a synthetic benchmark, it'll probably leave a crater Details: - Non-K Intel i7-8700 with a Thermolabs LP53 cooler and a Noctua A9x14 PWM fan - obviously no intention of over-clocking this - I got it because of its rated 65Watt TDP. - 600W Gold rated Corsair SFX PSU, 32GB Corsair DDR4-3200 RAM, 1TB Sandisk NVME M.2. - ASRock Z370 Fatal1ty - even without overclocking, I prefer the higher quality, cool and stable running components used on boards designed for over-clocking. - GPU not yet installed - gotta get the CPU under control first. (Or maybe CPU will run cooler if it doesn't have to render?) - I had first built this into an HDPLEX 65W TDP (max 95W) rated passive case, where it exhibited the same issue, which at the time, I blamed on the case and proceeded to switch to the current case. - Just having the system on and sitting in the Bios screen, CPU temps are 49 C and main board temp is ~38 C - This is my first time using an ASRock board - used to be a Micron customer for main-boards and when they stopped, switched to ASUS. But ASUS Z370 ROG Mini-ITX board didn't have Thunderbolt, so I got ASRock this time. Questions: - Reading on the internet, I find there's a lot of people having issues with this processor - has anyone been able to get it to throttle before it reaches the boiling temperature of water? - Is there a way to set the main board to slow it down, under-volt it? - Is it possible to disable ASRock's ability to have multiple cores run at full boost (a capability I wasn't aware of, and I don't know if that's the default) - I can't install a bigger cooler and I can't install an AIO either, there's no room, and at any rate, it seems to be a problem with the CPU not throttling itself...?

I have noticed using MSI afterburner that my CPU(i7-4790k) will reach high max temperatures when playing certain games particularly in Modern Warfare(2019). While it averages in temperatures in the low 70s degrees Celsius it will reach max temperatures in the high 90s and today I noticed it maxed at 100 degrees. My cooler is a Hyper 212 LED(Newegg link below) and I haven't *noticed* my CPU ever thermal throttle with it staying at a constant 4.4 GHz, and I have not done any overclocking except for enabling XMP for my memory having it run at 2400 MHz. I have been running this system for at least 2 years so the problem would not be related to me just recently mounting it wrong although I am not saying that the CPU cooler is necessarily mounted 100% correctly. Should I be concerned by this or do anything or is this just normal? Cooler Newegg link

Hello. I had the chance to buy a razer blade recently. I have been using the computer for 2 weeks. There was no problem except warming up. During the game (I tried CS: GO, Fall Guys, GTA-5, while playing LoL); GPU (RTX 2070 Max-Q), changes between 70-80 C. (Approx 70 for LoL, and 80 for GTA.) CPU (i7-9750H), changes between 80-90 C. As I read from some forums, i am not worried that it gets hot while playing games, it doesnt bother me. Generally, they talk about heating problems in most of the gaming laptops. In a few razer blade test videos I watched, the temperatures were more or less like mine. My main concern is that the computer gets too hot when I'm not playing games. I didn't buy this computer with the main purpose of gaming. I needed a laptop for long-term use. I saw that the razer blade was highly praised and the processor graphics card, etc. was good enough for me. Today I turned on my computer, which was completely cold. I just watched Netflix for about 50 minutes. During this time I used the computer on battery. I will add photos of the degrees below. The computer goes back and forth between 55-60 degrees. I can never put the computer on my knees or anything. The case is made of titanium (I am not sure, it could also be aluminum), so I am feeling the heat even more. I am writing here because I do not know if it is normal for this razer blade to get so hot when using it on idle. In the first photo, when using on idle, there are temperatures, how much of the processor is used and speed values in mhz. The other 3 photos belong to the ThrottleStop application where I did the undervolt process. I use this profile while only on battery. I tried many things, but somehow I could not lower the computer to 40-45 degrees. Is it normal to get this hot while using on idle? I also couldn't understand what caused it to get so hot. Only 5-10% of the CPU is used and thanks to throttlestop the CPU does not go above 1.5 GHz, but for some reason the laptop does not go below 55 degrees. I would be very happy if you could help me work this out. I leave the specs of the computer below. Just curious of what others think, as I said before I had heard that the chip I was buying was ran really hot so I did a delid, this broke the chip because I was too agressive and cracked the PCB part. I got a new chip and as expected with a slight overclock it runs hot but only under max load. What some people told me is that it is ok for a CPU to run in the 90s or 95 for long peroids of time as they are designed to run at high temperatures. This makes sense as lots of electronic chips are designed to run pretty hot so what I am wondering is what others think? I do not plan to delid this one and if I were to drop my clock from 4500 to 4300 it would keep it 90 or below under max load. I am running on water but as we all know intel puts an insulating penut butter layer between the chip and IHS so while that still helps a lot it does not do the same as a delid. So is hot ok?

Hi I have a quick question I recently built a custom liquid cooled pc with a monoblock cooler for the cpu and vrm. i took some pic of a chart and you can see the temps are at in them. I have prime 95 running to max out temps all info about processor should be in pics. do they look okay?

These temperatures are so different that i don't know which to trust, just plain cpu in speedfan says its 38 degrees, while in asus AI suite 3 it says the cpu is 45 degrees. thats a difference of 7 degrees, way too much if you ask me. but then the mobo temp seems to be spot on?
