Hello all Please help me figure out why my CPU suddenly got way warmer. Or I mean, give me opinions on what might be wrong. So, right after I got my 3090, my CPU's temps have gone through the roof. Yes, my case is very well ventilated. Almost all air in the top of my case where my AIO radiator is is cool. I think my CPU already had this "problem" before I got the 3090. I just think the problem shows now that I'm able to push higher FPS. I'm not 100% sure though. So I think I remember my CPU was always sitting in the 60/65c's when I got it (with no OC). I then started experimenting with overclocking and was able to push 4.7 all cores with stable temps (like peaks near 75c) for a long time. Suddenly one day my CPU was not stable anymore, so I just removed the OC. (back then I had a GTX 1080Ti and played in 2560x1080). Then as time went by, my CPU's temps have gotten higher and higher. And after I got my 3090 installed, I saw after some hours of FH4 gametime, I had peaks near 95c on some cores, which is just insane. In Battlefield 5, I had 3 cores on 95c and 1 core 98c, which is even more insane. I then bought a new AIO (HX100x), because I thought it might have been my old one, which was 6 years old. installed the new AIO and temps was better. Had peaks just above 90c in Battlefield and only on 1 core. But still, these temps are very high... Yes, I do play in 5120x1440p now, yes I do pull more frames with the 3090, yes it will make my CPU run hotter, yes my CPU is the 8700K, which is warm, but 90c? Really? So, to make my CPU "relax", I've had to turn on Best Case-Scenario in BIOS for SVID, and take my clocks down from 4.3GHz to 4.1GHz, to make sure my temps only peak at 80 after hours of gameplay. Is this right? Is the 8700K just this warm, when you push it with a 3090? Also, have the internal thermal paste or whatever it's called, gotten worse? If that's even possible. Is delid needed? I hope someone with some expertise can help me figure out what exactly is wrong, if anything "is wrong" actually, and if delid is the only thing that can save my CPU. Thanks

SPECS: Asus ROG M15, Intel Core i7-10750H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q 8GB GDDR6 lately (few months now)whenever I’m in a game (whether just on menu screen or actually playing ) the CPU temps are at a constant 93-96C on turbo or even performance mode sometimes (in any game, even something as old as cod black ops 2).I tried undervolting the CPU (from BIOS, voltage configuration set to 79 ) and GPU, and it certainly improved performance (shadow of the tomb raider benchmark was 69 FPS at high settings, now it is 98 FPS) ,but still, depending on the game, CPU temps are either 84-96C (Overwatch) (it used to be at a constant 93-95C, so i gus it helped a little) or 93-95C (shadow of the tomb raider, cod cold war, and even black ops 2)(sometimes I even see 97-100C for a sec) . So undervolting certainly did do something ,but it is not enough. What more can I do to reduce the CPU temp? GPU temp is perfectly fine, between 64-75 on turbo. here is what i did or tried to do: as mentioned before, i undervolted to 79 . I already got my laptop’s fans cleaned at a computer store to see if that was the problem but nothing changed, so that shouldn’t be the problem. even with chrome, opera GX (more than 40 tabs total), battlenet, and discord open, CPU usage is between 5-12%, mostly at 5, so there shouldn't be anything running that background that is using the CPU (RAM use is 9 GB tho). i have switch game cases underneath the laptop (in corners where there are no fans or vents, see picture) to raise it a little from the table's surface to allow for airflow (been doing this before this problem). i saw something about limiting the amount of power the CPU gets or something like that (im not the best guy when it comes to computers ,so i don't know what exactly is being limited),it was something in control panel, power options, then changing the minimum processor state from 100% to something less. unfortunately this option does not appear for me, so it is out of the question. one last thing, I don't know much about this stuff, but is it possible that i am getting a wrong read on the temps? I'm saying this cuz even tho both MSI after burner and asus's armoury crate say that CPU temp is 95C, the laptop itself is not that hot, i remember when i first got it that sometimes it so hot that even the keyboard is getting a little hot, now it is way less hot (as in when i touch the laptop with my hands) than what i remember it being at some point (i could be completely wrong tho).

Hello guys, First time writing here. I'm having a little problem with my new setup and cpu cooler which is z63 kraken nzxt. İ make all connections regarding the cooler(sata and 3-pin header). Pump seems to be working as I only attach sata cable it gives vibration and I can hear water bubbles if i move pump above radiator. LED screen also seems to be working. But when I install it on pc and try to start the computer, cpu overheats in a qucik fashion and pc shutdown itself. Strange thing I noticed that in the bios cpu_fan is not recognized for the AIO. it says cpu_fan - N/A. However if I put a spare fan into cpu_fan header it gets recognized in BIOS. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with cpu overheating though. What do u think would be the problem? Appreciate any help. Things I've tried: 1 - Shake radiator in case of any air bubbles stuck in the pump. 2 - Uninstall and reinstall the cpu cooler several times. 3 - Reapply thermal paste couple times. Am I missing something here? I'm totally lost. Thanks for any help in advance Note: I also put usb header of AIO in the USB 2.0 input of motherboard but I thnik its sole purpose is for NZXT cam? thats why I didn't mention that. I forgot the specs: CPU --> AMD Ryzen 5900x, Motherboard --> Gigabyte B550 Vision D-P

Hi all readers! Basically there is something wrong with my cpu. A while ago i noticed that my PC started getting slower and louder. I ignored it for a while but i t cannot be ignored anymore since i cant even start a game without my PC borderlining crashing. I installed some programs that let me read my peripherals temps and noticed that my CPU was 90+ degrees celsius and not even with maxium load. My cpu cooler is working fine, i've tested it and ive switched Case fans and thermal paste. But here comes the strange part. Sometimes when i start the PC it works totally fine. It is super quiet, works well and CPU doesn't exceed 50 degrees. If anyone is able to tell me why this only happens so irregularly I would really appreciate it.

Hi ! So here's the deal we bought a brand new pc for our 3d and motion graphics design studio and things didn't turn out as excpected , it's a total mess , ae projects even the smallest keeps crashing so is c4d projects with long rendering times ,fans are spinning like crazy with loud noises . Pc specs : Cpu : ryzen 9 3950x (cooled with Asus ROG RYUO 240 RGB AIO) Mobo: asus tuf gaming plus x570 Ram : two crucial ballistix 16gb×2 @3000mhz ( xmp is off) Gpu : pny nvidia rtx 2080 oc Psu : gamemax 850watt gold rated Storage : 960gb emtec ssd+ 2tb seagate 7200 rpm The Bios is updated to the latest version With a newly installed windows I did lately some temps testing with hwmonitor while rendering some c4d scene this is the outcome Heat test . Any help is appreciated .

Cpu - Ryzen 5 1600 Cpu Cooler - Antec A30 (bcz i had it laying around) Motherboard - Asus b350 Prime Plus Ram - Corsair Vengeance 2400 8x2 cl16 Gpu 1 - Asus Dual Rx580 8GB Gpu 2 - Rog Rx560 4GB Psu - CoolerMaster MWE 500watt Case - Corsair Spec 01 Now my questions: Is there anything wrong with that build? Can i overclock my cpu and memory? If yes how? Bcz i don't know anything about overclocking Now my problems: R5 1600 has a base clock of 3.2ghz but if i set System Tuning to Asus Optimal it sets my cpu to 3.5 and there was no issue i stress tested it for 30mins with Aida64 Extreme with the stock cooler it was hitting 70°c i used that sins 2017 December so when i changed my cpu cooler i thought of overclocking it to 3.7 or 3.8 so i stress tested it again and it and it was hitting 80°c after 2-3 mins so i stopped it and i reset the bios and reinstalled windows and i run Aida64 again and it was hitting 86°c and shut down my ambient temp is 26°c and my pc is clean has new thermal paste and air is pretty good i think.

I have an MSI GE72 2QD Apache Pro with an i7-6700k and after a couple of mins after turning it on, it goes up to 80C/190F and I'm not sure if that is OK for a gaming laptop. Especially at idle.

Hello. I'm getting this CPU Over Temperature Error after getting my pc back from the computer technicians. I'm a fish out of water when it comes to these sort of things which is why i took it to a professional to rebuild it instead of trying to do it myself.. i'm getting this error and in the asus uefi bios it's showing a cpu temp of +90. after some research i read that this error generally comes up when not applying any or enough thermal paste to the cpu (disappointing to pay for such a rookie mistake). once i opened the case and run it i noticed the graphics card fans not spinning and i'm wondering if this is normal? i've read that this isn't that big of a deal as it needs to (when over heating) but this doesn't sound right to me, i expect it to instantly run... ( the model is strix-gtx970-dc2oc-4gd5 if this helps) Thank you

I'll start from the beginning, so I got this PC from a friend for 200 dollars, it worked well and ran games low to medium at 30 fps, not great. He later gave me a 1060 for 100 more dollars. It then ran games on high at 50 ish fps. Fast forward a few months he offered me the old case he put a bunch of plexiglass in and RGB fans a water cooler system a B350 mobo, a 2400G and a few extra things for 200$ WHAT A STEAL! (Used). I had to buy the ram which was the trident z 3000mhz ram 2x 8gb and it didn't work, we returned the ram and got the corsair elegance counterpart. It worked and ran... For an hour. By the time I saw issues he had went home for the day, and he is a computer genius. He has done them as a hobby since 2000. I am 13 an know a pretty decent amount, but not an incredible amount. The computer said it ran into issues and would restart several times. I then shut it off, managed cables and such came back and after 35 minutes of idle or simple web pages, it did the same. I downloaded some temp monitors and they were at 70 cause I let it rest after reaching behind the water cooler mount, touching the CPU side, and nearly burning my finger off! The thing was leaking a slight amount of thermal paste and was really hot. Anyway back to after I discovered the temperature issue. I downloaded some drivers and was starting my graphics driver and it crashed again. I felt it and it was again REALLY hot. I decided to turn it on only for a few seconds for temperatures, and it was at 95 Celsius. The water cooling might not be working right, so do you guys know what's wrong. Also is 95 for about 5 minutes horrible?

here are the specs of my pc CPU i7 7700k (not OC) MOBO : GA-Z270X-Ultra Gaming (rev. 1.0) Cooling: Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID LITE 240 Ram: CORSAIR VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 PSU: Corsair RM750X. Case: thermaltake Commander C32 i am a little confused or might be wrong right now. my CPU was hitting high temps during gaming, (80C-85C) during gaming, i had a small cooler on it before, Cryorig M9i, i bought this cooler because i thought it can handle 7700k with stock clocks, but i was wrong, i even added a high RPM second fan and it did bring the temps a little down but i was still hitting 80C, so i thought about changing it to a liquid cooler and i bought cooler master liquid cooler mentioned above. it did bring the temps down, but when i stress tested the cpu through prime 95, it was still going to 90C after 15-20 minutes(with old cooler it was those temps at 5-7 minutes). but during normal gaming i never crossed 80C. i was still confused and looking at HWMonitor for answers like max power and voltage stuff and then i saw this. if you look at the voltages, they went as high as 1.304v on its own when the voltage in bios is set to 1.224v(default). i cannot understand this, is this the reason the cpu is constantly getting hotter ? do i need to set a voltage limiter some where in bios. during the prime 95 test the power went above 100W and around 103~W it started hitting 90C and i stopped the test there. the fan and pump profile for cooler are set to max at 80C. what am i missing here.
