Budget (including currency): 1000 USD (Flexible) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly World of tanks, Stellaris and a little VR Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey guys, so my current system is a Ryzen 2700x with 16 GB of DDR4 at 2933, although it says it can run at 3200 but I have never been able to get it there, A ASUS ROG Crosshair 7 Hero and a MSI Armor GTX 1080ti. This build is one I have had for a while and has served me very well. Its great it almost anything, the 1080ti holds up extremely well today. Honestly I am shocked at how well it does considering how old it is now. I got this thing for 600 bucks 4 years ago right when the 20 series came out. My problem is Stellaris. When I am away at school, I only have my laptop which can game, but Stellaris doesn't run well. At home, stellaris runs better but when I get into mid to late game I still get extreme lag. I am honestly surprised no tech reviewer uses this game for any benchmark. It seems to me its a CPU problem, as changing graphics settings doesn't do much. I am trying to figure out what parts need replacing to get this game running well. I really enjoy the game but it frustrates me I can't get a game to fully play out due to lag. If I go for a small galaxy size, I can get it to but then there isn't nearly as much to do. Any recommendations would be great! I am very aware of the shortage, please anything you recommend please do at MSRP because I am willing to wait a bit to get it. Also for my 1080ti, can anyone recommend a good backplate/holder to prevent sag? Its getting bad. I also need to replace one of the fans, which gets extremely loud and whiny whenever I ram them up past 40%. I will probably just have to figure out what fans MSI uses and get a new one. I can do that or if anyone can recommend a replacement cooler as the one on it isn't amazing. If anyone wants pictures of the build or any other specs let me know, I'll be home in a week. I'm rewriting this now that I've got a part picker list and can make it a little easier to read the specs of my current PC, but I have a pre-built CyberPower PC, it's between 2-3 years old and the only thing I've upgraded is the RAM which I've recently learnt has a a higher speed of 3000mhz than my current motherboard's max of 2666mhz, which I don't know if that's a problem, when it comes to computer part compatibilities, overclocking and throttling, I know very little hence the pre-built (so any help/ tips there to get more out of my pc like if I should overclock or what I should overclock, would also be greatly appreciated). I want to find out the best thing(s) to upgrade first to get the most performance out of my pc or whether to start relatively fresh and buy almost a whole new pc, moving some parts over, or my outdated I5-9400f is the biggest issue and should upgrade before/instead of my gpu from a 2060 to a 3070 or 3070ti or even a motherboard should be first to even be able to upgrade (if my current motherboard isn't compatible or something?) or to have higher max ram speeds to match my 3000mhz ram sticks, maybe my 500w psu isn't enough for my ultrawide 120hz PG349Q and that should be first? In games currently I can usually run medium-high at 50 ish fps, I want more, I used to be able to get more but be it age of the parts or some other problem, it's not as good as it used to be. I seriously appreciate any help/ suggestions on what to upgrade/ focus on first and good parts to get for that.

My current build consists of an 8086k OC'd to 5GHZ and a 1080ti Asus Strix OC Edition running on a PG279q 1440p monitor. I'm a little late to the "game" and was wondering if the game is more GPU or CPU intensive because I am planning on getting a non-reference 3080ti (or whatever it will be called) when they release and am hoping that will increase my performance. I'm hoping to run on ultra settings but am not sure if that's achievable (as I have not been paying attention to RDR2 until now and am not sure whether it's one of those games where hardly anyone will be able to run it at ultra or not). To get to Ultra (if possible), would the new GPU do it? Or would I have to upgrade my CPU again to achieve what I want? Also, is 144fps+ possible or is that too greedy for a game like this?

I have a geforce gt 740 as my gpu and a amd fx-4300 as a cpu what should i upgrade i'm looking to play fortnite at high and not all high some mediums too

Okay, first off here's my build: Intel Pentium G3258 @4.3 GHz @ 1.2 volts PNY GTX 750 ti XLR8 Edition @ Stock speeds MSi Z97 PCMate mobo 8gbs of Crucial Ballistics DDR3 RAM and a 550 watt PSU I want to upgrade a part, but only have about $350-400 bucks to do so. I need to know, should I upgrade my GPU (to a GTX 970), or my CPU (Preferably an Intel 4770k or 4790k)? Personally I assume I should go for the GPU but I'd like some advice from some more experienced members of the community.
