Hello guys, So I recently built a new computer and I have the 2 sticks in the primary slots a2/b2. When I turn it on the yellow dram qled lights up stopping the boot process. Following the manual, I visited the QVL List to check the compatibility of my ram sticks. The stick I have does show up but I noticed the version I have is different then what shows on the site [as I have ver 5.33.01]. Does the version of the ram stick matter? I've referred to other forums saying to update bios but for that I would need to have a display which I have yet to get to. Ive tried flash bios but I'm not too sure I correctly executed that. I followed a YouTube tutorial and downloaded the latest bios for my mobo [BIOS 1402] to a correctly formatted flashdrive and used the correct usb slot. Held the button for a bit and waited for the small light to stop flashing. The tutorial guy did this before he even built his PC, even without the cpu, so I may have done something incorrectly, please let me know if I've already bricked my mobo... But even so, this didnt solve my boot problem with the yellow DRAM qled. Is this problem solvable with a lower bios version? or is their anything else I should try in regards to updating the bios? Thanks for any advice in advance! specs: Intel Core i9-14900KF 3.2 GHz 24-Core Processor Asus ROG STRIX B760-A GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory (CMK32GX5M2B5600C36) Crucial P5 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Video Card attached file is "compatible memory stick" according to asus

Hello, i just purchased 2 Corsair Vengance 16GB 3600 MHz sticks since my 2x8 3200 were causing me to lag when trying to play 1440p ultra in new games such as diablo 4 (my ram useage was at 15.9GB out of 16) However if i check HWinfo64 it shows up as 1700 even though in my bios i set it to 3400. is this just because it's dual memory so if the speed reads 1700 then it's running at the expected 3400? or did i configure something incorrectly. Thanks for your time

I just bought two more sticks of Corsair Vengeance PRO SL memory. The set I had previously was the exact same as this one, except black instead of white. Both sets are 2x8gb, pc4-25600, 3200mhz, with timings of 16-20-20-38. Even went the extra mile to turn off xmp before installing the new dimms. I entered the bios just to check everything stayed consistent, but noticed the new memory has Samsung as the DRAM MFG ID, whereas the old ram lists Micron. Was wondering if this may cause any issues, or just what this means to begin with. 70224638287__1EE67439-3E0C-4CC3-9E84-54154CD4B903.MOV

Hello, I bought corsair vengeance rgb pro 256gb 3200MHz along with ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha and threadripper 3970X, I know that this 256GB corsair is not listed on the QVL list for this motherboard, but I had to buy it because the other RAMs were out of stock. do you think is it an issue? if it is not on the QVL? I contacted Asus and they told me it is better to buy RAMs listed on the QVL; do you think is it really an issue? Honestly sometimes I feel like adobe after effects is a bit slow to navigate into my timeline comparing to my alienware laptop with 32gb ram 2666mhz and i9-9900K and 2080 also when I turn on the [D.O.C.P] in AiTweaker to boost it to 3200Mhz windows sometimes get BOSD please any suggestion to my issue?

Hey, during the last months my system has made a lot of trouble. Almost every time i move it ,and I move it a lot, I get RAM problems. Sometimes it helps just to remove a single one of my 2 sticks and reinstall it but other times it takes somewhere around an h of moving stickt clearing CMOS and even rebuilding the entire system for it to boot on both sticks. - while writing this post my system gave me a dram error (with 2 sticks installed) and after writing up to this point I tried to boot again and it did without problems wtf- Do i have a bad memory lane? are there any known issues with this platform? dose any one have an idea on how to fix and prevent this problem in the future? Things i tried: BIOS update cleaning the RAM slots multiple bios resets making sure the PC experiences as little kinetic energy as possible while driving and other things I cant recall rn. thx for taking your time and reading this mess! this should cover the relevant specs: *R7 3800XT (yes I know but I got it cheap) *16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3200MHz C16 *ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus

part list This thing has been a headache and a half. My first PSU was faulty, I ended up needing to return and replace it, I upgraded to a brand recommended by a worker at my local shop. Fire it up, the cpu error light was on, I realized that I'd forgotten to power the cpu (silly me), powered it again, light was still on. I did research, called the shop and called a friend who is in tech support, everything I could find said to flash the bios, so I completely dissasembled and flashed the bios with the only things connected being the motherboard, the psu, and the flash drive. After it was finished flashing the bios I put the cpu and fan back on with fresh thermal grease, added one stick of ram (trying to keep it minimal) and the graphics card and powered everything. No error codes, finally. This is also where I probably messed up, the fan on my cpu wasn't spinning and the back lights on the motherboard turned red instead of blue. I wasn't really looking for that, to be honest, I was just watching for codes. I assembled everything except for one of my case fans (mounted on one of the side panels, figure I can plug it in later), made sure the hdmi was plugged into the graphics card, and fired her up. Fans on everything except the cpu are going, when it boots the cpu error light comes on briefly before turning off, at which point the leds on the back of the motherboard switch from blue to red. My monitor shows that there is no signal. I've checked and double checked all of my connections, unplugged and replugged them multiple times and there is no change in my results. It's late, my tech guy has small kids and doesn't answer the phone past nine, the shop is closed, and google is failing me. I've found one forum post with a ton of replies where people say they're having the same issue and none of them get it resolved. Has anyone else here run into this? Any tips on what to try next? I just want to get my pc running.

Hi, I am giving to give up with my PC at this point in time. It is my first build and the specs are listed at the bottom of this post. My RAM kit is Corsair Vengance LPX 2*8GB and on the tin it is desrcribed as 3000mHZ (15-17-17-36) and DRAM Components are Micro Tech and 8GB D-die. Using the A-XMP profiles, originally, I was able to use the 2800mHZ profile with no problems. If I went above this it would be able to run, but not consistently. This was the same with 3200mHZ. Leaving the PC off over night or turning off the PSU, the PC would not boot for the first three of four tries and only be successful after this powering on, then off, then on procedure. I resorted to using the 2800mHZ profile because of this. For the time being, I used the 2800mHZ, until last weekend when I decided to have a look at this issue. I ram a memTest at 2800mHZ and there were no errors. I then did some research on DRAM OC and used the DRAM Calculator 1.7 and Thaiphoon to create a group of settings for 3000mHZ (at SAFE). This profile did not work for my PC at all and I had to reset the CMOS to get back into the bios. Can anyone help with this issue? It is driving me up the wall! CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 2*8GB (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX (BIOS Version is latest) PSU: CoolerMaster MasterWatt 650 GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1060 6GB OC

Hi All, I recently built a gaming PC with the following configuration: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HappyTron/saved/#view=fQzgt6 At the two messages are shown: Memory PMU Training Error at Socket 0 Channel 0 DIMM 0 & DIMM 1 Which changes to: Memory PMU Training DIMM 1 For about a month there was no issue with the computer and all 4 RAM sticks were working fine at 3600 MHz. There was a instance when the computer suddenly shut down and after reboot this error started showing up. Now I only see 32 GB of memory being detected in the task manager and running at 2666 MHz. I tried setting the BIOS settings to default, enabling and disabling XMP, but it doesn't change. I am fairly new in PC building and don't have enough in-depth knowledge about memory timing and troubleshooting. Any pointers to try and debug this issue would be a great help. Thanks!

Hello all, I am on the search for memory sticks in my new rgb build, and have settled for 16GB of Corsair Vengance RGB Pro 3200MHz RAM. I can get it for around 100€. My qestions are: - Have you experienced issues with this memory? - What do you think of this memory? - What do you think of overclocking RAM? - if you are for overclocking RAM then why and how? Thanks, Catchears

Ubuntu not working with ASUS TUF x570 and Ryzen 7 3700x
ar27111994 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi everyone, I've just recently built my PC with the following specs for workstation use: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x MOBO: ASUS TUF x570 Gaming + Wi-fi RAM: 32 GB 3200 MHz Corsair Vengance DDR4 RAM SSD: 512 GB NVME M2 PCI-E GEN 4 GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 Super But ever since I decided to install ubuntu 18.04 on it, it keeps breaking down for one reason or another. Firstly, it was extremely tricky to install ubuntu and it turns out that it was because of uefi bios. I resolved it by booting ubuntu in legacy/csm mode via bios and it installed correctly, but that didn't make it boot after install, so then I found a way to install it in UEFI Mode using GPT Partition and it installed and booted correctly this time. Next up, few days later, my computer got accidentally plugged off from its power source. But it started fine after that, so no biggie, until few hours later, it got in a file system lock out of nowhere, i.e. on running anything from the terminal I got something like: unable to open (process name.…) Read-only file system... and also every GUI app stopped working as well. After some research I found that it might have been due to the previous accidental un-plugging and is currently an issue with ubuntu and SSDs in general, so I fixed that issue by running fsck on my SSD and updated my ubuntu, as advised, in order to avoid any future issues of the same kind. However, the next day when I turned off my pc in the evening and turned it on again after an hour's break, it first got stuck on ASUS TUF Logo Bios screen, then after restarting it again by force, it again got stuck on ubuntu empty purple splash screen. I have done some research on this again, but I found two possible causes, either some update is incompatible with my CPU or my latest GPU drivers (that might have been updated during the update that I ran after fsck issue) are on a version incompatible currently with my GPU, and there's no solution other than re-installing ubuntu again. But it could be something else too as I still don't know what is the exact issue since the only thing I see is an empty purple screen. Another issue I have faced is of RAM Frequency as its showing only 2133 MHz instead of 3200 MHz and the existing solutions like DOCP and Ryzen DRAM Calculator didn't work for me. In fact, after making changes from DRAM Calculator, I had to reset CMOS in order for even BIOS to work (BTW Bios was/is updated to latest version already). But I guess its either not needed to be clocked at 3200 MHz for correct functioning in a non-gaming workstation or its a headache for another time. So the bottom line is that, Is there anyone in this community that has installed and used Ubuntu as their only OS without any hiccups on a PC with same Motherboard, CPU and GPU? If so, can you please help me out in setting up my system with ubuntu, for workstation use? I will be extremely grateful to you.- 7 replies

Hello everyone! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I spent quite few hours searching for issue but I am unable to find it. This is a long post please do take your time to read it and I thank you for reading it in advance. I did install latest Nvidia driver around 7-10 hrs before playing the game. I was playing The Division 2 today and all of a sudden the OS crashed with BSOD. So naturally I restarted it and again after I login, BSOD!! This kept on happening so windows troubleshoot popped up. I hit 1. Repair- no use 2. restart in Safe Mode to delete the driver - no use 3. system restore - it showed me a point before I updated Drivers so I clicked that and same while it was restoring it **bam**! *BSOD* Then I put ISO in Pen-drive/Thumb drive/Flash drive and launched Windows 10 setup. In the options I hit 1. repair - nope nothing BSOD at the end[as a cherry on top]. 2. setup windows - does install but at the end it asks for restart as soon as I do it well you guessed it - BSOD! So I did few things based on what others mentioned 1. Installed OS again after formatting the drive in which I had my OS as I mentioned above. 2. Replaced SSD with my friends brand new SSD nope same issue it installs the OS and then BSOD. BSOD Errors which I got in no particular order: 1. cache manager 2. irql_not_less_or_equal 3. DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION 4. KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE 5. System_Service_Exception My Config: Nvidia 2070 Super Intel I7 9700K Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4-24000) CORSAIR RMX Series, RM750x, 750 W 80+ Gold Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X Hyper 212 Black Edition Corsair Force GS 240 GB SSD[This has OS] 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM Also I bought my PC 6-7 months ago all of them from Amazon US. Before I had an issue where my PC used to froze when I restart my PC so changing my SSD did work. So I never again bothered with this issue but as a precaution I never used to shut down my PC instead I did Hibernate my PC. Thank you EDIT: Thank you all guys/gals. I think I found the issue. I tried 2 things: Removed CMOS battery and then placed it back. I also cleared CMOS[I think it was through CLR_CMOS]. I removed one RAM stick and checked same thing and did same with other stick but no change. So I borrowed 2 sticks from my friend and placed it in 1 & 3 slots same issue. But then I placed the RAM sticks in 2 & 4 slots and it worked. I am currently talking to Corsair for possible replacement. They suggested me to send them pics and all details related to purchase.

ryzen Corsair vengeance Pro rgb 3200mhz & ryzen 1600
Guest posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I bought some corsair vengeance Pro ram to go with a ryzen 1600 and a gigabyte ga-ab350m-gaming 3. All of the 16gb is recognised in bios but not in task manager. I think it's just not compatible at all. But is that due to the mobo, cpu or both? There's a crap ton of info to go through and I've gone through some but I need some help please. Any recommendations for what to buy as replacements would be helpful too. Thanks- 30 replies

Hi all. I have a not too new of a gaming rig, so I decided to try and over-clock the CPU, cause I think it's bottlenecking my 2-way GTX 770 cards, but ran in to a issue. I can't even enable XMP mode, it just shuts down with a ram error code on the MOBO, an I have to reset it. Can anyone help to figure it out. Also, I tried to add 8Gb more of the Corsair vengeance, and it will only show 8Gb in total, not 16. Plus it runs at 1333 MHz not 1866MHz. What's wrong? My rig. i5 3570k 2 x ASUS GTX 770 in SLI Corsair XH750 power supply Corsair Vengeance 1866 MHz 8Gb Asus P8Z77 WS MOBO Corsair Force 180Gb SSD WD 1TB HD Antec Kuhler 920 liquid CPU cooler.

Hello all! I am getting BSOD when i set my RAM to 1600MHz. I first tried it with enabling the XMP profile in my bios but after my pc is on for a while it just gets a BSOD. I searched in forums and they said it was due to the XMP and they said to manualy set the clock speed for your RAM. So i did that but i'm still getting BSOD but this time there are more different ones. These are the errors i saw in XMP: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCECTION FAULT_PAGE_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA RQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL These are the errors i had whit XMP off and manually set to 1600MHz: KERNEL_LOCK_ENTRY_LEAKED_ON_THREAD_TERMINATION SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCECTION IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL These are my specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Tetrahc/saved/6bt9TW Thx in advance and for your time!
