There is very limited information on this build combination as the Ryzen 7 3700x is a fairly new CPU whilst this case is over 4 years old. The maximum CPU cooler height for the Corsair Air 240 case is 120 mm. The CPU chip is a Ryzen 7 3700x which I will not be doing any overclocking on. I am choosing a Noctua CPU cooler and from my research the best options that are available due to height restrictions are the Noctua NH-L12S, Noctua NH-D9L (with dual 92mm fan configuration) and the Noctua NH-L9a. (I understand that the new Corsair 280x has superseded this Air 240 case. However, I purchased this case in 2018) Any recommendations out of these CPU coolers would be highly appreciated! Many thanks.

1. Budget & Location ~ £600 (kinda flexible) 2. Aim I want to rebuild my old pc in a smaller form factor but with better parts. 3. Monitors 3440x1440 (for gaming and work) and 1920x1080 (just an extra monitor) 4. Peripherals Already have all the stuff I need peripheral wise. I also have a 980Ti already from my old build so I don't need a GPU included in the build. My headset used a digital audio output so having that on the motherboard is a must too, unless there are any motherboard / sound card deals that sit within the budget. Does anyone have any recommendations for this build: (I would like to stick with the AIR 240 case unless anyone knows of a good cube case that may be a better pick) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£188.99 @ Aria PC) CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 240 74.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£71.99 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: MSI Z170M Mortar Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£103.97 @ Ebuyer) Memory: Kingston FURY 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (£64.99 @ CCL Computers) Case: Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower Case (£88.82 @ Amazon UK) Power Supply: be quiet! Having problems finding a potential CPU cooler. The Asus Z270i does not have a usb connector for an AIO, I know there is a fix for that but I'm thinking of just sticking with air cooling. Clearance is limited as far as the height and ram I plan on using which is the vengeance RGB ones. Any suggestions are greatly apprectiated.

So currently I own an FX8350 on the stock cooler, but I want to replace it because it's just loud af. But I plan to upgrade to the R5 1600 which I plan to overclock. The air cooler needs to be under 120mm (I have the corsair air240 case) Is there any low profile air coolers that are worth buying that I can overclock when I get the 1600, or do I buy an aIO 240mm instead of a low profile cooler?

I have a Corsair Air 240 and want to water cool it. I have a Ryzen 1700 and plan to get RX Vega when that comes out. I would like to start buying parts until then. Its going to be a white build. I want to do hard tubing (yes i know its hard and bad for first timers). Looking for part recommendations. Not sure where else to shop besides EK. Trying to keep prices as low as possible considering. New to all this, but I'm looking at building a rather straightforward barebones unit but not sure which of these 3 cases to go for; considering ease of build, features on each case e.g. dust filters, quality of window etc, size and cost Would be using an i5 6500 or 6600 with 1/2 ssds and 1 3.5" hard drive. RAM - Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz. Asus Z170M-PLUS motherboard - not sure if any of the others from the link are worth spending a few pounds extra for?? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Z170M-PLUS-Socket-LGA1151-Motherboard/dp/B0126R44FG/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1483453761&sr=1-1&keywords=Asus+Z170M-PLUS+board Not sure on graphics card but don't want to spend a fortune as only an occasional gamer on the likes of BF4, BF1 etc; Not sure on power supply yet either. Some lighting might be nice with fans but not overkill on that front. Thus any help would be most welcome.

I am using the Corsair Air 240 with the H100i, and will be installing it at the front of the case, see here . What config would be better? Push or pull. I don't have enough fans for push/pull atm. And SP or AF?

Bumblebee: mATX Workstation Build Watercooled, mATX, small workstation build. Purpose: Run many virtual machines, occasionally game. Small form factor needed for 'portability' to bring to college. Any and all feedback is welcome. During the first few days/week(s) of the build, I am open to changing some hardware. Things I am pretty set on: 1080s in SLI, and having a dual 240mm radiator and a single 240mm radiator to cool the entire loop (CPU + 2 1080s.) ** Let me clarify: The only two radiators I will have in this case for cooling my CPU and 2 1080s are a dual 240mm radiator and single 120mm radiator. Here are the links for these: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-pe-240-dual https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-pe-120-single ** Any complements or feedback on paint jobs, watercooling set up, how I am setting up/installing things, are also welcome! I hope you enjoy this journey - it's my first water cooling build, and my first small build. Here's my watercooling loop plan (the placement for the parts are not accurate, as you can see in the pictures, the pump is mounted towards the back now.): PCPartPicker List: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/P3Yfr7 Basic summary of parts - 10 core Xeon, 2 GTX 1080s in SLI, dual 240mm radiator and single 240mm radiator. Purchasing parts over time. Each build update will include a date, which parts were ordered/arrived, and what progress has been made! 5/28/2016: Case arrived few days ago, motherboard as well. All watercooling components are ordered, reservoir, some blocks, and other parts came today. Other things, such as the 1080 block, backplate, single 120mm radiator, and some others are still processing from EKWB's website and will ship soon, coming late this coming week (most likely June 3rd or so.) Painted the case, mounted motherboard, and mounted the reservoir. As you can see from the images, I had to mount the reservoir at the front of the case, where 2x 80mm fans would be - there is no other space to mount this (back of the case will have the single 120mm radiator and powersupply, along with cable management), thus it needed to be mounted there. As I cannot drill holes and such, I was able to thread two screws through the ventilation holes. It's sufficient to hold even with shaking, but I also ziptied the other two sides which were not able to be screwed into the case. It doesn't budge when shaking and such. Also, I have painted the case fan filter and mesh to match my color scheme - black and yellow (tubing and coolant is yellow as well, along with cable ties, I know, yellow cable ties sound lame but I wanted another thing to color match.)

Well i've been building this small beast and planning his creation since August of last year. Day by day buying each part until today where i got my planned beastly AiO cooler by EKWB the predator 240...... but it won't fit... in the corsair air 240.... the pred. 240 was actually a little more bigger than 240, so i have mounted as right now to the top of my case on the outside of the case with the top panel off. I'm kinda at a loss of what i should do. My only options i have in mind is buy a new case to fit all my part but i don't know any specific cases that are micro atx that will definitely fit the pred. 240. I'm hoping someone here can help me with recommendations on a case or a way to make it fit or something. If you want to look at the build here it is on PcPartPicker.com http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qYTZkL

Hey everyone! I have recently thinking a bunch about water cooling my pc for overclocking! I want to keep with the color aesthetic I have chosen (blue and white). The case I am using for this build is a corsair air 240, because of my m-ATX form factor. In advance, if a different case for this is recommended id love to hear about it. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a water cooling kit or aio that wont break my budget of $100 that follows that color scheme? I don't want to buy one that will ruin the blue and white look. CPU: AMD FX6100 GFX: SAPPHIRE R9 380 RAM: HYPER XFURY WHITE 16 GB PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ MB: GIGABYTE GA-78LMT USB-3 rev. 4.1 Thanks for your time in helping on this in advance I'd love to crack this case asap!

Hello, I want to build a new mAtx Gaming PC with: SSD: 120GB ADATA Premier SP550 PSU: Corsair VS 450w CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 Skylake Mobo: MSI B150M Night Elf Ram: 8GB DDR4 2133 HyperX Fury GK: NVIDIA GTX 960 (i don't know which model but I think the 2GB version) Case: Corsair Air 240 mAtx Case I don't know which GTX 960 fits into the case. Not in lenght, but in width... I thought about the Palit GTX 960 active. But i hope the MSI GTX 960 Gaming 2G fits too. Can you guys tell me, which card I should buy and if the components work fine together? Max. 235USD (220€) for the card. Thanks for help and sorry for my bad english JaHtz

So after back and forth with the wife and my wallet, I've decided to go back to my small form factor PC idea. I have a 980Ti Hydro GFX already preordered. Essentially, it's a 980Ti by MSI with a Corsair H55 AIO liquid cooler on the GPU, which means that this build already has to find a place for a 120x1 radiator. I'm really liking the Corsair Air 240 for this MicroATX build. The dual chamber design has me sold. There will be only one GPU but I will be using the second PCIE slot for an Intel 750 NVMe SSD. I'm planning on running with a K-series Skylake processor. So we're talking about 91 watts of TDP. I want a cooler for it that will be able to keep it acceptably cool on a modest overclock, with preferably low noise, and hopefully could also be an AIO liquid cooler to just look cool along side the Hydro GFX. In fact, the biggest thing is for the cooler to really look good with the other 120 rad in the case. I am totally fine with buying aftermarket fans for lower noise. So what CPU cooler would you recommend for this build?

i have just ordered a corsair air 240. i have tried researching this best i can, with the result of confusion. i will be having an ITX mobo with z170 chipset in the 240; along with the 6600k cpu that i will want to try and overclock it to around 4.6 what i am trying to figure out is what the best way cool the cpu while not raising temperature with the GPU too much in the case. im debating between the corsair h100i gtx, be quiet pure rock, noctua nh-u12s. lastly, i do want to keep the noise down as much as possible. i read that the h100i gtx can be very loud, but i am not sure how true that is. what cpu cooling solution is best to overclock in the corsair air 240, while keeping the noise down in the case? thanks.

I'm moving and I'm taking my pc with me. I'll be checking in my PC as a luggage regardless (Corsair Air 240 case in its original packaging and box). That being said. I also have the motherboard box and a hard-shelled luggage. Should I disassemble and keep the motherboard in its original box and wrap it in bubble-wrap and fit it inside my luggage or just keep it screwed onto the case (which will also be checked in as a luggage anyways)? I guess leaving the motherboard in my PC case will save some luggage space (as someone who is moving, any space is valuable). However, I'm worried that the motherboard would shatter in the PC case due to vibration.

Hi im new to LINUSTECHTIPS. but I've been watching his YouTube channel for some time i would like to upgrade up recent build and do a custom water cooling loop microATX CPU and GPU. but im having trouble with compatibility and clearances Current build Case: Corsair air 240 Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus Gene VII CPU: Intel I7 4790k @4.7Ghz Ram: patriot Viper 8gb 1866Mhz Storage: samsung 840 SSD 240gb Hard drive: black 1TB GPU: Dual EVGA GTX 970 sc SLI Cpu Cooler : corsair H105I Fans : Corsair led high-static pressure fans because of space restricions i was looking into all in one coolings such as the H2O-X20 Edge HD Series or somthing similar but still have concerns if it will all fit and how to do the loop. my main reason for doing this build is to lower the overall temp of my GPU. They are placed fairly close to each other and the top GPU is having trouble getting airflow

This is my first review here on ltt, I've been surfing for a bit and want to try your give back to the community and to the show, so I hope you guys like it. I chose the corsair Air 240 to build my media pc for my living room. I chose this case primarily for its looks but size, cooling potential, and the overall features made me make the decision. This case was in compition with the node 804 from fractal design, as their price was real close, but I ultimate chose the corsair because I could have it sitting with the window facing up. I believe overall the node is a better case considering the cooling capacity and filtration but none the less I chose the corsair. Overall I am happy, this is the first micro atx build I have done and took my time to make it clean. The case has fantastic ventilation and I was really surprised how much I could cram in it. The current parts that are in it as far as hardware and fans are concerned are as listed. Asrock h97 pro 4 mb Intel g3258 Evga 750ti (atx cooler) 8gqb corsair ram H105 corsair liquid cooler configured as push/pull (4 fans) 8 120mm fans total including the H105 Corsair 750w semi mod psu (soon the be replaced with a mod 500psu from corsair) Kingston 120gb ssd Samsung/Seagate 1tb convential 2.5 drive. Everything fits and runs super cold! CPU is clocked @4.8 stable with an idle of 29-32c and a load temp of 56-62c all via Aida64 So far it is blistering fast, much faster then I thought it would be, I have used it so far for movies, YouTube, Hulu, music, as well as some gaming which includes a few emulators (snes, n64,mame) as well as a couple steam arcade game and it hasn't flinched! So far it's done all I wanted it to do, in the future I want to mod the case a little to flush install all m emulator game controller adaptors so I don't have the hanging off it.. Not for cons, some of the paneling is a pair and we'll it's plastic, also filters are not easily removable being the are screwed to the panels, imo there was enough room on this case to make proper filters, and for the price it just doesn't make sense to me. Honestly this should be more like 69.00 case But as said earlier airflow is fantastic, and because of which the fans are running 800-1200rpm so it is very quiet. So in closing my review, I was a Lil bit disappointed in the case because of the cost/value which could have been fixed with better filtration, and some metal paneling. But overall I am still satisfied, it is small, has ample cooling, wasn't to difficult to build, has a look I wanted, and a huge window that I can point up. So 4 out of 5 for me I hope everyone likes my review and find it helpful!! And I'll try to snap some pics!

Hello Everyone, (I know this is a lot of information, I understand if it is too long for some haha) I have been contemplating building my own PC for the last couple years now and am finally expecting to have the kind of money I will need to buy all the parts at once soon. As a bit of a background, I am a US college student about 6 months away from finishing my degree. I major in Multimedia Design and Development and hope to work in 3D environmental design for things such as games and/or animations. I will also possibly be working with web page design, video/image editing, programming, and illustration. I would also like to record my gameplay, edit, and upload to YouTube/stream to twitch. I want to build a high-end gaming and workstation PC in the price range of about $1500 to $2000, including some peripherals, that will be able to last me for several years and will be fairly versatile in general. As of this point, I have been doing a lot of research, consulting my computer enthusiast friends, revising, and have come up with a parts list with pcpartpicker.com. I would like to note a few things before I get to the parts list though: one, I already have a mouse, so I do not yet intend to get a new one. two, I am expecting to be able to have Windows 7 provided for me by my school for free. ( I do not like Win 8 and might be interested in Win 10 at some point in the future if it proves to be a reasonably good OS) three, I am pretty set on the case. I really like the Carbide Air 540 by Corsair and was a part of my original builds, but recently my attention has been brought to the newer Air 240, the mATX form factor case, and I really feel that, after consideration, the benefits of having an mATX form factor fits my plans for this build. My thought process goes as such: I do not intend to have more than 2 graphics at any point, I like that it will be fairly compact and portable, and I will be able to save some money without hindering my expectations of the build quality. four, there are several parts that I currently do not yet intend to buy and might possibly upgrade to later. At this time, 16 GB of RAM will be plenty (but I enjoy the thought of possibly upping that to 32 in the future), I am comfortable with a single powerful graphics card (with option of adding a second later down the road, probably SLI), and I do not intend to OC this build at this time and have been advised by a few people that I do not specifically need a replacement CPU cooler at this time (but am considering added components such as a closed loop liquid cooler for the CPU). Also, I am considering replacing all fans with Noctua, or possibly some other quiet set with LEDs built in, at some point. five, I would like WiFi compatibility as well as possibly an HD gameplay recorder for my consoles. The current build as it stands is: ( http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kibex55/saved/wfsj4D ) CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core (I think this is a bit overkill but I like the idea of going big with the CPU, have considered a xeon but if I do want to OC later then I am told that it is not good for that and the base clocks are more important than amount of cores for games so it better to go with i5 or i7) MotherBoard: MSI Z97M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1150 (really like this board, "decent" price with a lot of features) RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 (price range possibly around 80 to 180, i would like to keep the color similar to the board unless another RAM is significantly efficiently valued) SSD: A-Data Premier Pro SP600 256GB 2.5" SSD (I would like an SSD for boot and frequent programs speeds, maybe 120 up to 256 so I can hold OS, programs, and some frequent games, reasonable price range seems around $80 to $140) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM (looking at around 1 to 3 TB for my first HDD, price range around $60 to $120) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW ACX 2.0 (I was originally looking at the MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V, but I feel like the case might have a height problem with that one. I am looking for a card with maybe 3+ GB, probably Nvidia 900 series or a very powerful 700, like the 980/970 or 780ti. My price range is very dependent on performance. I could say possibly between $240 and $560, with going over $400 needing to be very worth it. if I go over $400, I will likely need to cut back on expending on something else like maybe the CPU, but I would rather keep that pretty powerful because of the editing I plan to do) Case: Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower (love this and the Air 540 case, don't think I will be willing to change to any other) PSU: Rosewill 750W ATX12V / EPS12V (price range seems reasonable around $60 to $140, gold seems fine, I would like to keep it at least semi-modular) Monitor: Asus VG248QE 24.0" (definitely interested in a high-end monitor within the price range of about $100 to $300, I would like to get a G-sync monitor, but they are way too much, maybe I could upgrade later down the road. For now, I would like something around 24" with a high refresh rate, low response. 16:9 is completely fine, but I just can't help but consider something like 21:10 (maybe something like LG 25UM64-S). also, I would be interested in a monitor that has HDMI in and out so I can play games without any added latency and run the output from the monitor into my computer so it can record. at least some reasonably good freedom of movement would also be nice.) WiFi Card: Asus PCE-AC68 802.11a/b/g/n/ac PCI-Express x1 (seems a bit over the top, but with the builds price range I am being a sucker for the pricey good looking stuff haha) *HD Capture: AVerMedia C985 Live Gamer HD * (like I said, I would be interested in getting a good HD capture card for a reasonable price like around $80 to $180, this one looks good with decent software available, HDMI pass through, minimal latency, audio ports, adapters, and 1080p 60fps recording, etc.) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 (I am looking for a good quality, easy to clean keyboard, probably with a number pad and even a few M keys, this one looks great. I am probably just going to go with the cherry mx red and add rubber o-rings to shorten the distance and quiet the bottom out since I bottom out often.) alternatively, I am still considering going above and beyond by getting the Air 540 case and going with a bigger build with an ATX board and possibly even 2 graphics cards (though that sends me over my price range). I have a secondary build list with this setup here (http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kibex55/saved/Ngn7YJ ) just in case.
