  1. Now that I have a good idea of what kind of cooler I need for the 8700k, I was wondering what fans I should use alongside it. The case is an NZXT S340 Elite.
  2. Should I Go All Out

I keep bouncing back between building a custom loop and just getting an aio closed loop and additionally if I did a custom I’d get some better parts that require a little more cooling. I have a few reasons to justify a custom loop, but the biggest issue I have is the difficulty of a custom loop along with the risk of a custom loop. If I did this, it would easily be a 10k build. I don’t want to take a risk and mess it up and have to save it all up all over again. Reasons for the expensive build: longevity, handling anything I throw at it while streaming, the maximum of encoding power, gaming at 1440p 60fps or higher at 144hz even when streaming, rendering and gaming and streaming at the same time Now this is all well and good, but do I need the super powerful stuff for this (7980xe, TitanXp, 128gb of ram, custom loop) or could I get that with the lowest i9 and a 1080ti. That and that is all a luxury right? I keep hurting my head with trying to decide what I want and I think if I get the peak of what there is then there isn’t any real consequence except losing all of my hard earned money. Would it even be losing when I have the single most powerful and satisfying thing I’ve ever boughten. I still don’t have responsibilities that take up all of my check just yet so I could do this and there wouldn’t be any negatives, so that’s out of the bads. The final hoop I guess is the custom loop. I feel like I have the ability to build it if there’s a guide for beginners. So do you all think I could learn it and accomplish my goal or do you think there’s a large chance of flooding 10k of pc parts? Reasons for water cooling (custom loop): my room is always hot and a large percentage of it is from my already existing old pc and I can’t handle it anymore, I want it to be quiet even at load, like to the point that I could barely hear it from a few feet away at load and wouldn’t get picked up on stream, if it means not overclocking to achieve the aforementioned results I am ok with that So that’s it, I’m tired of trying to decide for myself so please help me out and give me your opinions. I guess another question is should I use a heat gun to bend some petg for the build or should I just use straight tubes with fittings to minimize risk when building, but would this increase the likelihood of a leak? Thanks guys.
  3. (Not sure if I should post this in laptops or in air cooling but here goes nothing) About a year ago, I bought a gaming laptop for my birthday because I wanted to be able to play some games on med-high settings, while also taking it to school. It all worked out great and I was happy with my purchase. Fast-forward to today, and I've been having a few thermal issues. In games like PUBG on medium and high settings, I can see my CPU getting to about 80 degrees Celsius. To counteract this, I managed to under-volt my CPU by about 125mv, and my temps are now in the high 60s and low 70s. However, this is still higher than I would like. I decided that I should probably clean my laptop, but I'm not sure the best way to do this. My laptop is the MSI GE62VR with a GTX 1060 6gb and a core i7 6700HQ. Should I just buy a can of compressed air and spray the vents, or should I take it apart to look for dust? I'm also wondering if I should buy a laptop cooling pad, but that's another issue entirely. If anybody has experience cleaning laptops, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. So, Im going to do an Office Ryzen 5 2400G Build, and Im using the A320M-HDV Motherboard (since I do not plan to OC in anyway, for an Office stability always comes first). The case Im using (Cooler Master N200, Mini Tower mATX) The case has 2 Fans pre installed, however those are both 4-pin and the MoBo only has a 4 pin and a 3 pin. Will a fan work if I connect it to a 3 pin instead of a 4-pin? Or can a 4pin fan splitter work? Im looking at this one in particular: https://www.newegg.com/global/mx/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812987008&ignorebbr=1 Will a 4pin splitter work so I can connect both fans? Also Im going to install a Pro version of WIndows of this PC since it is for an Office, and in Mexico, you NEED to use a Pro/Enterprise version if you are working on an Offie (Same for MS Office) Its illegal if you dont, and if you get caught, because Companies get audited once a year, they take your PC and then they fine you, like $5000. So, I was looking in the WIndows home page for a W10 Pro version but it is $5199 MXN, which roughly translates to $260 USD. Which is outrageous when it should be $119 USD. So I went ape logged into PC Partpicker and looked for W10 Pro, and found a version going for $129 USD (roughly MSRP) but it is OEM. The website is Mychoicesoftware.com, it doesnt look sketchy, has Google, Norton and McAffee Certifications for safe store and has even phone coustomer service lines and decent ratigs by users, if I want Ill be sent a USB for free to install W10. Its the page reccommended by Pcpartpicker when selecting the OS, and has 350 ratings. But, is it trustworthy? 6. Delta Fan on H_AMP_FAN

I'm working on a build that I plan to keep in a closet. Motherboard is Asus Z270E. I bought a Delta Fan and it states that it is 3.3 amp. H_AMP fan connector runs up to 3amp. Do I get a different fan? Do I adjust the fan curve to max out at ~85% or so? Personally I plan to test it by throttling the fan speed to less than the max. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007WLPNPW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/specifications/
  7. Help with compatibility

Hi, so my PC specs now are RYZEN 1600 (STOCK COOLER), Palit 780Ti, and I feel like putting together a water loop for my pc as it have been getting noisy recently. Since 780Ti is an out of production model, I searched online for the suitable water block and found this XSPC Razor GTX Titan (GK110) / 780 / 780Ti V2 Waterblock online, from https://www.amazon.com/XSPC-Razor-Titan-GK110-Waterblock/dp/B00KVR2P3M/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pl_foot_top?ie=UTF8, I am wondering if it is compatible with my GPU, and also will it work if it fit it with one of the EKWB copper kit? 8. Loud 1080

Hi all! I have a gigabyte gtx 1080 turbo oc (the blower one, huge mistake). i bought it because it was the only 1080 i could find at $500 back in october. Im making this post because this thing is loud, i know blower coolers are usually loud, but this thing is really loud. im wearing audio technica ath-m50x's with music playing and my game sounds up(not loud, but not quiet) and i hear this thing like a jet engine. The times it is really extra noticeable is when playing pubg, in other games like csgo i still hear it but its not deafening. my temps pretty quickly hit 82c and never go any higher, but at 82c its loud, so loud that i cant even focus on the game. to avoid death, i need to set my power limit to -20% which results in getting 20-30 fps less in game(not a huge deal as i dropped from around 140 to 120 ish, but still, i paid for a 1080). is there anything i can do about this? my fan setup is 2 120mm intakes on the front, and a 120mm exhaust in the back. i also have the stock ryzen cooler. i was thinking about getting the kraken gpu bracket and a corsair h55 for it but i heard that would make the vrms and vram hotter. thanks in advance! EDIT: In case anyone wanted to know, my ambient room temps are around 72F, but i still get the same noise at night when my room is around 45F
  9. Which one is better in terms of lowering the temperature pre filled or custom water loop?
  10. Hello, I don't intend to do this, but I was surfing the web and I stumbled upon this product, and my question is: Is it better to remove the IHS, use the best thermal compound you can get with this tool + a decent cooler; OR Install back the IHS as most people do. I don't know, not in this year but in the future I could maybe consider a delidding my CPU, and now I'm curious.
  11. Hello guys, First my PC stats: Gtx 1080 Ti (MSI Gaming X) Intel i7 8700K And both are Watercooled with Phanteks Glacier Waterblocks So here is my Problem.... I have 2 Water Systems with an Alphacool Res and Pump combo I have Two Rads with Corsair SP 120 in Push/Pull config The rads are the thick 480 Rads from EK and my problem is that the gpu gets hotter and hotter in gaming, it seems like the rad is not cooling it down at all. The Rad gets hot only on the bottom were the in and outlets are Im testing the same with my cpu and there are no major Problems 65°C with Prime Gpu ist getting over 70 and more Any suggestions what i can do?
  12. Hi,My 2.5 years old graphics card getting too hot while playing games.. It reaches around 82°c temp.. So I replaced the thermal paste. Now I'm getting gpu temp around 62~64°c under load and 31°c in idle, But the VRM and vRAM section are getting hotter. I noticed that the thermal pads are torn and dirty.I want to replace the thermal pads but couldn't find the right thickness .So guys please help me.Thanks in advance
  13. Hello lads, I've got an interesting thing I've been wondering about lately. I have an EVGA 980ti hybrid and I've been wondering if it would be possible to remove the stock 120mm AIO and replace it with an AIO that has a similarly sized pump/block and still fit under the EVGA shroud? Based on my research, the stock AIO appears to just be the unbranded Asetek version of the Corsair H55. So since the H105 has a similarly sized and shaped block, would it be possible for me to mount the new cooler and put the shroud back on over it?

  15. Strange temperatures

Disclaimer: I'm a semi noob with computer building Hi, I have a custom built PC which was built for my by PC specialists here in the UK. I was having a lot of BSOD problems and on on their advice I reset the CMOS battery and reseated the ram. Seemed straight forward. However since then I've been getting some concerning temperature readings. It will take 2 weeks round tripping to have the system returned and fixed, but I have work to do so I'm someone can help me find a solution myself. Basically when I render video out of DaVinci Resolve the fans are blasting like they never have before and the liquid cooling unit is displaying a red warning light. It's set to do so when the pump temp is above 45c. Here is a screenshot of my temps I never checked them before the CMOS reset so I don't know how this compares. Do these temps look normal? CPU Maxed at 80c & GPU at 86c After a heavy load the CPU and GPU temps drop to around 40c but the pump itself takes forever to get back to idl temp. I'm talking like an hour In every other way the system seems to be functioning normal. I'm just very concerned by the intense fans and red warning light that I din't experience before. Could there be a problem with he pump? Thanks Specs Mobo: ASUS PRIME X399-A AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti Cooling: H80i v2
  16. Hello! I just bought a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe for my new PC and I'm wondering what would be an efficient fan config for this tower case. A- 1x 200mm top, 1x 200mm front. B- 1x 200mm top, 2x 140mm front. C- 2x 140mm top, 1x 200mm front. D- 2x 140mm top, 2x 140mm front. Which one sounds better? I'm concerned about noise since I have been using a really silent gaming computer for almost 10 years and I want this new PC to be equally silent. Also, I'm not going to overclock my CPU atm, so my temperatures shouldn't raise too much when I play games. Thank you in advance!
  17. I purchased an EVGA GTX 1060 single fan a while back and recently started using it in my daily driver. It works well for 2560x1080 gaming but tends to get crazy hot with the poor heatsink that it came with. (63°C at idle) Is there some sort of aftermarket cooler I could install? I haven't been able to find anything outside of maybe a custom liquid cooling block.
  18. Calyos dropping the ball

Hi Forum, first post here.... Im one of the people who has pre-ordered one of the calyos NSG-s0 cases, there was originally manufacturing problems with the first supplier they were going to, thats all fine, they kept us updated to a certain extent even if it did take some mithering to get the update.... but now it seems like they have given up with it all, the expected shipping/completion dates have been surpassed, and i am unable to gather any additional updates, their forum has became a spam bot fest and they havent even bothered to tidy it up. can you please ask them for us linus as they might actually bother/listen to you. Thankyou -disgruntled calyos kickstarter invester
  19. Sup guys! Will there be any effects if use nzxt x52 on a lock i7-7600 cpu? I know its useless but, will there be any system damage or whatsoever. And does a liquid cooler has a life span or anything?

  21. Fan for Raijintek Pallas

Hey guys, I have a Raijintek Pallas cooling my 8600k, still non OC. - Processor came this weekend, not even monitoring temps yet So at the end of the week I'll start monitoring temps and start OCing Pallas is an awesome cooler, but the fan that comes with it is VERY slow and quiet. I'm not sure it will handle the 8600k in good temps. My i5 6600 was around 70ºc on stress tests, fan on silent mode. And so the question is: Is there any other 140mm fan that I can use/adapt on my Pallas, so that I can heave more air flowing into those beautifull heatpipes? These are the models available in my country; I could try to find other products: https://www.kabum.com.br/produto/80489/cooler-fan-coolermaster-masterfan-140-air-flow-mfy-f4nn-08nmk-r1 https://www.kabum.com.br/produto/53852/cooler-fan-corsair-140mm-air-series-af140-quiet-edition-co-9050017-pled-roxo https://www.kabum.com.br/produto/85544/cooler-fan-corsair-ml140-pro-140mm-led-azul-co-9050048-ww Thanks !
  22. Need help picking a cooler

Hi everyone! I'm looking to swap out my stock AMD wraith spire cooler with an aftermarket cooler. I've shortlisted two, the Cooler Master MasterAir MA610P and the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120L RGB. I am curious about overclocking (I've never attempted it before) and I know that if I overclock, I'll have to deal with increased temperatures. Could someone please help me make a decision on which cooler to buy? And yes, I am sort of doing a Brand themed build with cooler master (which is also the most easily available brand in my country) so suggestions within the cooler master catalog would be preferable. My rig has Proccessor: AMD R5 1600 Mobo: Asus Prime B350M-A RAM: Crucial 8GB 2400 Mhz Thanks in Advance
  23. Hello guys, im here because i need help with my fan configuration. 24. Hello. I picked up the Corsair H60 AIO cooler and ordered some sleeving from Amazon, mostly for cables, but it can fit the tubing in this model. Is there a way to safely disassemble it? Preferably just so I could put on the sleeving onto the tubes. And if so, what coolant should I use to refill it and what would be the best way of doing it? This is my first try at the watercooling. And despite watching a lot of videos from Linus and Jay I don't think either of them mentioned something like that before. Thanks.
  25. Hi all, I just finished my first loop @ like 1:30 am, hit the switch and my blood red gets covered in something I’d never seen before. Research seems to say plasticizer, but that should take time. I’m going out tomorrow for a couple gallons of distilled and flushing the system. I don’t believe disassembly and block cleaning is necessary. Especially since this loop only cools the gpus. What do you all think? (Radiator was flushed with 1/10 vinegar and tubes were flushed with distilled prior to assembly)
