I don't care if someone steals the idea, I just wanna know why this COULDN'T work. 1. Most games aren't made for Macs or Linux, this OS would make it so. 2. The OS would be missing tons of normal computer services, meaning the OS would require less than 1 GB of RAM; lowering max RAM requirements for games. 3. Like Xbox/PS, downloading and installing is not allowed. Game companies, that require the OS, no longer need to worry about hacking. 4. ROMS (that weren't made for computers) and emulators that I played on Windows VIsta still work on 11, no updates. Wishful thinking, maybe the games can also behave the same? (Battlefield 1942, Dead space, AC 1, all broken)

So about 2 years ago I made my first custom built and it went well, the computer worked just a normal. Two nights ago I went to turn off my computer to head to bed as normal but yesterday when I went to turn on it wouldn't post. My ROG X570 motherboard was giving off an error code 90. I looked it up and I think its something to do with RAM? Anyways I couldn't fix it so I sent it to my local GeekSquad and they asked if I overclocked it and I said yes, then they told me that I probably killed my computer, Is that possible? My cooler is a rog ryuo 240 CPU cooler and my CPU never went above 80 degrees celsius. Is the guy at geeksquad lying or what? My system specs are Ryzen 3700x, rog strix 2070 super, rog x570 motherboard, rog ryuo 240 cooler, 2x samsung sata 1tb ssd's, 500gb samsung nvme ssd, 2x8 gkill 3600mhz, rog thor 800w or 850w full modular power supply.

modding I would like to build a system monitor into my desk.
Impious posted a topic in Cases and Mods
I have seen some Case mods for a system monitor LCD inside the case, but I was thinking about setting one up inside my desk, like a little spot with a glass top with a Pie and maybe a touchscreen. I have no idea what im doing, any thoughts would be appreciated. -
Budget (including currency): 1.5k to 2k gbp Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft and simple PCVR games, Blender and general usage of web browsing media ect... Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have used NZXT's pc configurator to build a list that I want... https://nzxt.com/en-DE/build/28d63e22-29bd-4eaa-8709-eff25aacf4ac

Recently i bought a new laptop, hoping to get 144 stable fps in fortnite on low settings. I knew I needed a strong laptop to pull this off., maybe not too strong but u get the gist, I decided on a laptop with the following specs: i5 10300H RTX 3060 (85W) 8GB RAM: 3200Mhz(single channel) 256GB SSD AND 1TB HDD Its the Acer Nitro 5 2021 Variant I setup this laptop and downloaded fortnite on its ssd. Now the problem begins. While using DX 12, lowest setting and textures medium and view distance epic i get max fps around 100 and extreme drops, the game looks nothing like 100fps, same on all low too, it looks more like 20, situation is not too different on DX 11. While using performance mode i get around 160-170fps, textures medium view distance epic, same if they are low. The fps drop to the 40's nd 50s a lot too. The CPU and GPU usage in game are both around 50% and 30% respectively. i spent a lot of my savings for this laptop, its performing worse than my friend's laptop which has a 1650 TI. I need a fix to this problem. Im getting Bad fps in Destiny 2 too, 50% cpu usage and 40-50% gpu usage for 70-80fps with a lot of frame drops. I would love to have a solid solution for this problem. Also my CPU temps in game range btw 80-95 degree, rarely crossing the 90's just for a few seconds and gpu is always below 80. I'm talking in Celsius scale. I hope to find a solid solution, i did not save my money for such crap price to performance.

Basically like a week ago-ish I noticed my game starting to lag a little and I look at task manager and the memory usage is at 98% and then a day passes and it starts to lag really bad, like ill scope in with my sniper and it'll lag or if i get shot my game would freeze up making it so I cant run so ill just die instantly lol and then later that night my computer blue screened for the first time in ages And then I was playing rust (high ram usage game) and my memory was like spiking to 96% etc same for playing escape from tarkov itll sit around like 95% sometimes itll even sit at 70% or 80% and still feel the same lag with task manager not having anything wrong on it Ive ran virus softwares so its not a virus I guess, ive also ran the windows memory diagnostic thing and it found no problems so I dont know what could be wrong but I have an idea that it is to do with my memory even tho ive had my cpu, memory and ram for some reason all sit at like 85% but went down quickly But heres the real problem, I ordered 2x8gb new ram sticks last night and put them in but im still having the same problem ;/ it sucks so much smh I really dont know whats wrong or if there is any software/things that I can run/test to get more of an idea of whats lagging. (It definitely can't be a ram memory problem) ANOTHER THING - I noticed each time I had bad lag spikes, my hard drive would spike up to like 100% each time my game lagged bad, but I dont understand how it could be to do with that because the game is downloaded on my 1TB samsung SSD and my windows is on a separate SSD. I only have games that I dont really play & videos/pictures on the hard drive My Parts that I have currently; RTX 2060 i7 8700 CPU 16gb 3200mhz DDR4 HyperX Fury (NEW STICKS) Prime b365m-k Corsair VS 650 PSU My old ram was Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb 3000mhz DDR4 I have tried CrystalDiskInfo software to test my drives, I have tried individual manufacturers softwares like samsung, western disk and kingston manager. My Kingston SSD that my windows one is downloaded on health overview was; Failures: None - Warnings: Yes - Overall: Degraded SSD Wear Indicator = 12% and SSD Spare Blocks = 100% https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/42208042 - Here is my benchmark from earlier

Budget (including currency): 2000-2500 dollars US Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly the newest demanding games on steam and other places. He also has a job too (I forgot what it was since I rarely see him) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So the attached are the PC specs that I think are best for him, but I still want some suggestions. For the gaming peripherals and stuff, my friend has that stuff covered. We are planning on buying from a Micro center. He's on the move all the time, so I want to get him a pc that is small, but not like a Small Form Factor Case. I am thinking about getting him the NZXT H210 or the H210i. I don't know what to get him. Also for the monitor with this budget, should i get a 1440p or a 1080p 144hz monitor. If you can give me some suggestions, I would love it! Thank you c: PC Build -AMD.pdf PC Build -Intel.pdf

Hi guys, a day later I bought an R9 270 2GB, and when I tested it, it worked worse than my previous one (it was a GTX 750 TI 1GB). And when I downloaded the MSI Afterburner, I saw that the GPU was 0-30% loaded, and so I tried to find the answer, and I found TWO. This may be a bottleneck due to a weak processor (from the Linus video) OR because of memory (from other forums). How do I determine which one is correct? so I don't waste time on returning memory/new CPU.

Budget (including currency): ~$1500 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CAD, CoD, 3D rendering and animation Other details A Friend of mine has helped me get a backbone list of parts I should use but has recommended I stop by here and get Advice. I want a build that is a good starter and that I can eventually upgrade into something much Nicer, my budget is $1500 but with prices being volatile as long as its relatively close to that I would be happy. Below is a SS of my list from PC part picker, I already have a Mouse, Keyboard, and Moniter, I am in need of everything else. I'm not deadset on any specific part so please let me know your ideas! Addition: I have 1 monitor that runs 1080p x 120Htz but would like the build to be able to run 2 monitors at 4k x 120-144Hz, I am not a pro gamer and am really worried about picture quality for the refresh rate.

Current Setup: CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 1300x GPU - ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Advanced Edition 4GB GDDR5 MOB - B350M Gaming Pro (Micro ATX) RAM - 1 x 8GB 2400Mhz (HyperX Predator) (2 slots available, only one being used) PSU - EVGA 500W Display Monitor - Samsung 23" 60Hz *(I am not Overclocking, only XMP is enabled) Hi, I was hoping to use this forum to gain some knowledge on where I can upgrade. Keep in mind I am on a budget so going extreme or high end is not really an option for me right now. Firstly I only play one game and that is Dota 2 (Max FPS 110/120). Quality is definitely a must, and decent FPS with the right monitor to match. So I am at the stage where I want to purchase a new monitor but is it worth it with my current setup? (I really want to use either a 27" or 32" curved or even 34" depending on price) I do not play any high end games but only Dota 2, however I have seen people play at 4k and the games looks beautiful. So I guess the question is, what can I do to play this game at a respectable FPS (higher than 60fps of course) and have this impeccable display and experience when playing the game I most enjoy? Do not get me wrong, this current setup is working for me and plays the game, I just feel that it is time for an upgrade specially with a new monitor, I want to go bigger. With that said I need to take into consideration all the different variables when it comes to gaming monitors such as: - Refresh Rates - Response Times - Resolution - Type of cables that will be used (HDMI / DP etc) - Brands List goes on. It has been mentioned that doing a CPU upgrade will benefit as well as using 2x 8GB RAM. (As AMD will benefit using dual RAM instead of one) Where do I start? Is it worth buying a new monitor or do I start within the computer? Quick Note: I recently played Dota 2 on a Samsung 27" 75Hz monitor and I immediately noticed the color and a slight smoothness and I was impressed. (hence the reason I want to upgrade my monitor) Would it be worth maybe just saving a bit and going for a 144Hz with my current setup? As I instantly noticed the jump from 60hz to 75Hz, (If that is the case I should really see and feel the jump from 75Hz to 144Hz) However I am not hitting 144FPS. Not 100% sure on what is the next step in moving forward here. Thank you.

Hey guys i tried to send an email to Linus Tech Tips about this help but directed me to this website instead to ask this question. I was wondering if I could get an opinion from any of you on an all-in-one computer I’ve been looking at. It’s the HP Pavilion All-in-One - model 24-xa0129. I’m currently a student of a Business Administration and is in need of a computer for work and gaming was wondering if the specification of this laptop is worth the retail price. • Processor family 9th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 processor • Processor Intel® Core™ i5-9400T (1.8 GHz base frequency, up to 3.4 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 9 MB cache, 6 cores) • Display 23.8" diagonal FHD IPS BrightView WLED-backlit, 250 nits, 72% NTSC (1920 x 1080) • Hard drive 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA HDD • Power supply type 120 W Smart AC power adapter • Energy efficiency ENERGY STAR® certified; EPEAT® Bronze registered • Memory 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) - - - I also would like to play some games on it when possible. Do you think the specs on this is enough to play benchmark games on normal video settings? - - - Also there is a 27" monitor being sold with the same price, every specification is the same except it has the 12gb ram. The model 24-xa0129 is a 24” monitor but has a 16gb ram. Should I consider the 27"

Hey guys, hope everyone is well! Here's the thing, I've recently bought a pair of HD 58X Jubilee (love them) and will need to buy a mic as well (more on this later). Currently I have 2 computes, desktop and laptop, so it's a pain to be always changing the headphones wire (and the future mic wire) between devices. What I need is something where I plug my headphones/mic wires and that with a press of a button I can change between end devices (not sure if this exists). Clarification: -> I'm not sure if what I wanted is called an audio interface (similar to amps/dacs and stuff like that); -> What I need is some sort of splitter, that can receive headphone/mic connectors and send them to many computers; Information about the future microphone: -> It will be USB (no I don't want XLR, and yes I'm sure); -> I'll be going probably to Yeti or Rode (not sure of the model yet). -> EQ will be made with software; Important Information before any recommendations: -> Must be only 1 piece of hardware; -> Must be available in the EU market (Most popular audio products are); -> Must be passively cooled; -> Must not be expensive (under 200$ / 200€); -> If it supports more than 2 computers, even better! Talking about the elephant in the room: -> I'll be buying a USB mic because it's the easier and the more convenient way for me to upgrade my audio. -> It's easy to change between devices, don't need to worry about inline amps, pre-amps and all that complicated stuff; -> Finally the use case doesn't require high-end audio, this will be used for gaming with friends and occasionally a remote call. *Sloth if you are reading this thanks for the info in the other post (I'm still researching it xDDD)!! Please recommend various products in different price ranges (if possible). Sorry if this is a stupid question, if you need more details, ask away! Thanks in advance! Bowis

I really your help about my Pocophone F1. I just installed Lineage OS just as what is told in Linus's video. However after a couple week when I tried connecting my phone to my laptop, it wouldn't read. When I try to update the drivers it just says drivers cannot be installed (Code 28). I tried turning off then on the USB debugging, but it still doesn't work. Even switching cables and ports doesn't work. And also it is detected as PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller. Please help me guys I'm not sure what to do about it now. I can't transfer large files to my laptop or use it for tethering. The charge icon is present when i connect it but no type of use (MTP, Camera, etc.) Please help me guys so I can update my firmware soon.

Hi everyone, I'm basically in a lab environment right now practicing using Active Directory. I have a server running Windows Small Business Server 2011 and have 3 workstations. How do I associate the users and computer accounts I've made on the server Active Directory with the workstations? I created all 3 computer accounts, and all 3 user accounts. We have computers 1, 2, and 3 and users A, B, and C. Pretty new to this, so thank you for any help you can give.
