Me and a buddy are starting a server based company but will be more than that down the road. Anyway, we have our server rack and are working on planning for the Minecraft server and this server will be massive. We plan to try and have 50k+ people always playing (This will be WAY down the road). But I need to know what kind of CPU's I should run for the servers, Should I run multiple servers and connect them via Bungee or something else?, Should I run multiple CPU motherboard with multiple servers?, I need way more help because I've been doing a lot of research and reading and constantly seeing different opinions etc. HELP! lol.

Hello everyone! I am knew to this forum, but not to the tech community. I'm looking to effectively save all the BIOS settings onto a USB. There is not an update or anything of the sort that I will be doing to the BIOS, I would just like to know if anyone knows of a way to just save the BIOS settings to a USB? I am trying to save the BIOS settings to make restoring an image using clonezilla onto a new computer a much quicker process. Any help on this conundrum would be absolutely fantastic, I've been racking my brain for days! Thank you in advance! P.S(Unfortunately, I cannot give any detailed information about the computer itself or hardware, as I am under an NDA by my company)

Anyone in the EU new world servers want to start a company?

I am theorizing 3 pc's for this startup of a friend, most work will just be done in the cloud but they also need to do some stuff locally or just as backup for when the cloud is offline (its local and all refurbished, and there is no backup server because shit's expensive and not really needed, they do make backups though). i'm not even in the same country so i am not actually putting them together myself. Usecase: company cloud clients / workstations. Types of load: client to server (PXE is a must), people coding, writing reports, libre calc(opensource excel), database management, nothing too special. its very important that the ram is upgradable. prices for ddr4 ram already increased 17% so they can't afford a lot now but probably do want to upgrade it in the future for big database editing etc. all parts are ordered from the netherlands, use https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/?highlightCat=14#highlightCat:14 if you want to change parts. the budget is €985 with VAT (21%) €815 without VAT. here's the part list: PSU: Seasonic S12II Series 430W (€49.95) Case: Zalman T2 Plus (€31.90) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm 64mb cache (€51.90) CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 Boxed (€62.95) MOBO: ASRock B250M-HDV (€72.85) RAM: Crucial - DDR4 1 x 8 GB - DIMM 288-PIN - 2133 MHz / PC4-17000 - CL15 - 1.2 V (€58.90) Total: €328.45 (with VAT) €271.45 (without VAT) Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-05-18 17:30 CEST+0200

So I saved up for what seems like an eternity and finally had enough to build my first PC. I ordered an ASUS 27" 1440p Gsync monitor, and ordered a 1080 to drive this badass monitor. I ordered parts from different websites to get the best prices, and everything else arrived last week and this week. I built the PC yesterday, leaving only the GPU to add to it when it arrived today. No sign of the GPU! And according to the courier tracking, it was still at the national depot. I live in Ireland so the depot is in Athlone in the middle of the country, and is then transported to a regional depot before delivery. I called them this morning, and they said it had been transported to the regional depot and had just not been scanned yet. I should receive it today. They gave me the number of the regional depot which I called. They said they didn't have it, and that all the parcels they were due to get were out on delivery. They gave me the delivery driver's number just in case, and he didn't have it. I called the first number again (customer services), and explained the whole situation, and they have confirmed that the parcel is lost and will conduct an internal search for it. They took a description of the GPU box and it's value from me...€650! They said they will call me as soon as they know anything. I am so pissed off!!! I called them again this afternoon to follow up and here they tell me it could take 5 days to conduct the search!!!! Now it's the weekend too so it's going to be another week... More than likely the GPU has been stolen. Things like this just don't go missing... It came from the Czech Republic but it definitely arrived in Ireland because it was scanned. So it's going to take 5 days for the search, I'll probably need to get another GPU - so they will need to claim off their insurance, order another GPU (if they are in stock!!!!! - they are hard to get atm...) wait for that to arrive. Install everything. Download Battlegrounds over several days because my ISP has a 20GB per day download limit (I have no choice because of where I live). Then.....THEN...I will be happy.

Hi there. Normally I would go to IT Department for this issue, but the only guy there is on vacation at the moment. So it is you guys that could help me. This week I switched departments in my company and I got a new laptop, new username, new email etc. I logged into my new username on the company domain and changed the password to my own password. Everything looking good so far. But everytime I log out, Lock the laptop or simply have to log into windows, my chosen password is displayed as wrong. The old password does also not work. But as soon as I disconnect from the company WiFi I can log in with my chosen password. I have not tried if it works on non-company WiFi. I don't mind doing this little work-around, but the next step was to get Outlook set up. My Company Mail adress was already connected to Office 365 in a way and I opened Outlook, tried to provide the password to my account, and again the password is wrong. Only this time I can not really turn of WiFi, because the setup will not work without a connection. I also tried it with outlook web. Same issue. How can I make this work guys? I can't really wait until Fritz is back from vacay. Cheers

I'll keep this short I've bought a PC almost a year ago with one stick 8GB of G-Skill Ripjaws RAM running at 2400Mhz. But the problem is I've got the Ryzen 3 2200G processor which requires dual channel RAM for better bandwidth and I've only got the budget now to buy one 4GB RAM stick of a different company running at 2400Mhz as well Will they have any problems or issues while working together? If you were wondering, this is the RAM I'm planning to buy

Hi, just a "quick" Question what do you think what I should do? ^^ My Dad has got a small company (like LTT but far less IT Infrastructer needed). At the Moment we have an Server thats used as an remote System for two people, some database stuff thats not really intense, and about 200 to 300GB very important Data and 500GB not frequently used data. We have a team of 4 CAD designer and they say that the save times of our projects (which are really small max. 10MB per project) are really slow, up to an minute. Our drives are pretty much full, which is probably the cause of the slow loading times. Also our server is about 5 years old, Xeon e3-1240 v3 4c8T | 32GB Ram | about 1TB of 10K SAS HDDs Raid1 At the moment we have a working backupsystem with tape, there is no need to do something there. But there is a need to do something about our Server infrastructure. We got an offer from our IT consulting company I think thats apart from the hard drives not an useful offer cause ~5700USD just for an HDD upgrade makes no sense to me, because we probaly would have to buy a new Server in 1 to 2 Years again, because the hardware would be to slow for some new Software we will get in the next years. A quick question, why SAS HDDs? whats the big important different to SATA drives apart from their latency thats better because they are spinning faster? (Also we would have to spend another 7000 bucks for new software licences) So thats not really an option at the moment. (At least for me, if I say thats OK my dad will buy it) The secound option would be to buy a Fileserver / build on myself with pretty decent enterprise Hardware running Linux or Windows. (Does someone know about an very good linux distro for NAS applications? (It does not have to be free) The biggest plus of this option would be, that we have an IT store with their warehouse in our neightborhood, so if something breaks I can get that part in less than half an hour. Also I can ask them to always have that parts in stock for me, because I know some guys there ^^. The third opten would be to buy an NAS. At the moment my favourite would be an synology ds3018xs with 3 x 4TB Seagate Ironwolf PRO with 5 years warranty in Raid 5 This NAS is probably a little bit overkill for only 3 HDDs but overkill is good isn't it? I would love to get some input to think about from you guys.

To preface, I'm running an i7-7700 and a gtx 1050. So, I'm trying to do a replay of an old favorite, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (2$ steam sale yay!) and no matter what I do I can't hit 60 fps. The recommended specs are ancient and far below what I'm running. Even GeForce experience (I know, it's crap was just curious) has the optimize slider all the way up basically saying "You got this, kid". And yet when I play I average 45 fps on all settings, low through high, even at lower resolutions. On thing I noticed, my task manager performance window shows me using both my gtx 1050 and intel HD graphics at the same time but not even breaching 50% usage on either processor. Blows my freaking mind. and yes, I know older games can run slower on newer computers due to the massive changes in architecture, but it's only an 8 year old game and it supports DX11. And yes, I disabled hyper-threading, the difference in performance was negligible.

I have noticed over the past year or so that the tablet market has almost become non-existent. There are two brands I hear about on tablets and those are Apple, of course, Samsung, Kindle, Nook (Samsung makes the physical tablets). I know that part of it is due to phone makers coming out with bigger phones and also less bezel on a lot of devices. Are there any good tablets left out there that aren't the major brands or have we the consumer fallen to grips of a two-company world and only really have those companies to choose from; I would like some insight on this honestly.

Hi! I am a high school junior looking to start a computer repair and building company. I've created a poster for it and would like your opinion on it. I have it so that you can comment so if you think that anything should be changed just comment on the part that should be changed. Thanks! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F636ZJfphltC7eboqExaxEvkS6Xwu3I13CYt6pW1veA/edit?usp=sharing

Well as the title says its cloud-based gaming. The article Here with its title suggests you can rent a PC with high end specs. They upgrade the hardware for free. Recently went from a 1070ti to a 1080ti in the graphics. Right now is mainly in France but very newly expanded to the Uk and California, with a worldwide release soon to be at late 2018. A part of the article says To me it's not ahead of its time its just beginning of a new era. An era where someone with a low grade laptop can connect to the device and connect to the cloud so they can start their gaming career or their streaming career. The company will also be at CES Full length link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.polygon.com/platform/amp/2018/1/4/16847394/shadow-cloud-gaming-pc-streaming-blade-ces-2018#ampshare=https://www.polygon.com/2018/1/4/16847394/shadow-cloud-gaming-pc-streaming-blade-ces-2018 They have a discord: shacord

Microsoft is generally assumed to be evil, Google likes to say that it's not, and Apple is too cool to care one way or another. Of those three, which do you think is the most evil? That's the subject of today's poll; feel free to cast your vote above on this page. Please note we are asking for tech companies, as in hardware and software. Not phones. Thank you

Linus and Luke are both in a car crash and are not going to be able to run the company for an undetermined amount of time. Who would you like to see take over LMG? It can be an inside or outside potential.

I have had an idea about how I can combine my knowledge and technical ability with making some money (probably for new PC parts lets be real). I want to start a simple job in which I would advertise to local people, targeting the older generation, to help them with any computer, WiFi, TV (basically technology in general) problems. This paired with help setting up peoples new products that they don't know how to. I was just wondering if you were me, how would you go about starting up something like this? What actions do I need to take and are there any legal things (I live in the UK) that I would need to sort? I'm not planning on it being a business or whatnot, just as a little way of making money and helping people.

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm currently looking into Adafruits products, which seems to all look amazing. Yet, a lot of people are very critical about their customer support, warranty... which is important for me, since I live overseas. So what are your experiences? Thanks in advance!

Original Article: http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/26/sony-interactive-entertainment-llc/ Title says it all really. Sony is going to be cutting ties with it's PlayStation brand and forming a new "separate" company out of the new division. The new company is rumored to be called "Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC" It is to combine Sony computer Entertainment with Sony Network Entertainment and will be led under Andrew House as CEO. No much is said to change, but the company will now have its HQ based in California, and will officially class "April 1st as its first say of business" EDIT: And will have a starting capital of $2 Million Many are speculating this is due to Sony's recent financial struggle, even though its mobile division is not holding strong - Sony is succeeding in other ares such as Cameras and modules which it leases to other smartphone manufactures. People are joking at the fact that Sony can change it's name, but users cannot change their PSN names... My thoughts: Not much to say. They are splitting off profitable segments of their business, probably due to their recent financial issues and having to dispose of some sub-businesses (Just my thought, probably not true) but overall, this shouldn't really affect the mass public for the time being. Your thoughts? Please leave them down below!

(Click for source) Google/Alphabet is about to become the most valuable company in the world, passing Apple, who has held the most valuable company for some time now. Just to clarify, they have not YET, but they are very close too, about $200 billion, which shouldn't take to long to get too. This is probably due to how poorly Apple has been selling with the 6S/6S+, as some of you know it isn't selling as good as Apple expected. This probably might bring some tighter competition between Apple and Google/Alphabet, which is a good thing mostly.
