Hi, I'm new to this forum and new to pcs. I got my dad's old laptop and I'm trying to play COD4 on it. I have a question about Swift Shader and is it required? Because a game of similar specs Wolfenstein 2009 runs just fine on my laptop. I have M620 i7 2.67GHz, Intel (R) HD Graphics 64 MB and no dedicated GPU, DirectX12 the laptop is called Dell Latitude e4310. Any advice is appreciated and if you tell me to buy a new laptop, I know, I'll be buying it after I'm done with high school in India. I am planning on getting the Lenovo Legion 5i. Right now, I play games on my Xbox One.

Ok so i started playing Cod4 (Steam) again recently and every time i launch the game i have to set my resolution to 1920x1080 i already tried going into my profile game settings and changing but it didn't work can anyone help me

my laptop = HP pavilion 15 - AC025TX i3 - 5010u = 2.10 Ghz 2 core, 4 threads 4GB ram , 500GB harddisk 2GB AMD radeon r330 graphic card windows 10 - 1803 versīon 1MB/s internet connection,,,, i just want to play COD4 peacefully without ping raising high ,,,, when ever i play cod4 system.exe is using 0.1 data using which i seen in task-manager process... i have been reinstalled windows 10 for 4 times since last 2 mount's and reset for 2 -3 times ,,,, i am soo frustrated ,... all i want is to play cod4 nothing more,,,, please give me solution...

mine is HP laptop model : HP ac025tx 4 gb ram , 2 gb amd Radeon m330 graphics card I tried playing cod4mw with intel hd 5500 graphics ... it hit 125 constant and upto 150 -160 fps at resolution of 1366*786 then I tried disabled intel graphics driver and used only amd graphics drive only it hit 2 constant and 5- 6 fps with a resolution of 1366*786 now my question is , is my gpu ok?

Hey guys, whenever I uninstall Call of duty 4 on PC and I always have to start from a new character, is there a program or server that boosts you to level 55 with all weapon unlocks and such? Most of the ones i've seen have trojans so much help is needed finding a clean method, thank you guys!

Today I pre-ordered The legacy Edition of the new Call of duty game that includes the remastered version of Cod4 (Only reason I bought it) off of amazon.com It said it would come with a theme on PS4 and 1,000 COD Points Towards Black Ops 3, but I dont know how to redeem the points, any help, I'm sure others are curious too.

So I haven't really played Call of Duty in awhile/not as much since basically Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. But this rumor about COD4 being remastered with the new game possibly is getting me hyped up for the new game. Not to mention I've heard the new game isn't going to have tons of crazy movement like AW or BLOPS3. I've been looking around sites like G2A and several others to possibly get a cheap copy of the PC version (because I'm not paying 20 dollars for a shooter that came out in '07 on Steam). I've heard the PC community has done a good job of patching the game themselves and making it so there's less modded lobbies and cheaters. Is this true? Is it still worth picking up the game after all these years to get some old nostalgia in before the possible remaster?

Dont read this part, this is just my experience covering my rant. Contains spoilers on some mods If you ever played MW2 on pc or any game on console you know about peer to peer connectivity. Match gets created and a person will be choosen to host that match, if the hosts lefts the match the whole game gets fcked up, yeh, you probably hate it, but, out of many people there that hate it, i really like it, because i've experienced nightmares with Cod4 DEDICATED SERVERS. Play the dramatic music. So you get in the dedicated server, with some mods, lets say: deathrun, obsicurity and that kind of stuff... If you are interested in what those two are, deathrun is a counter strike mod ported to cod4, there is one activator who activates the traps, and there is the jumper who needs to jump his way arround the traps, if all of jumpers fail, activator wins, if you get to the end of the map, you get to play a knife/sniper/deagle only round with the activator. In obsicurity there is a obsicurity, a very hardly seeiable man who can only be seen as a disortion in the air, and there is a normal player who needs to hear, and see the obs and kill him. So in this example I join in obsicurity with my friend. We play normally, then some kid joins in. You know, it's the raging kids who ruin the game, friend of mine said: "In eyes of the noob everyone IS a HACKER" and like, really, he was right, that is exactly what happened here. The guy called Bid3k, yeah, just from the stupid name that has numbers in it you can see clearly he was a newbie, and he played very badly, his kills were very unclean and hard to achieve if you know what i mean, and my friend just went crazy, he plugged in his logitech g230 and started tracking the sounds, the guy saw my friend Brainsick looking at him, and he started warping trough walls which was delayed, and he shot in the wall resulting in guy calling my friend hacker, when in reality, he never used a hack for cod4, never in a public match (he sometimes uses it to annoy me on private with some friends ) and the raging guy, who, what a coincidence, had a wh set up shot my friend multiple times in mid air and arround the car when he wasn't making any sound (special perk) so enough with this stuff. Map changed and the guy left, admin joined, and i tried trollin' my friend, and i said i was looking at him, he turned his headset volume and heard the grass, he looked down, aimed at me for 5 seconds, as i was about to jump he shot me. Bid3k joined up saying he was hacker, resulting in a kick for reason: Banned by admin, guy banned him but he never had time to freaking include the reason, well i had argument with the admin which was 3xp anonymous. Anyways I think Brainsick was unbanned since he could join, then bidek saw him and started shitting again. When admin was online, so now he was banned again, because the admins barely had 500h in the mod where Brainsick had 3000h. So what makes online experience on dedicated servers / cod games or any multiplayer games containing kids in it? -Bad Latency -Bad Players -Rage -Unfair admins -People who are friends with admins and that are lows at the same time -Newbie and unexpirenced players -people that think that everyone is noob and hacker except themselves and sometimes hack themselves -did i say hackers? and actually, games that are bad themselves, that is why i should change to counter strike or battlefield. My friend has 20 megabyte connection and on empty servers he almost always gets 200ms, while in other games it's not the problems, so proof there. From this post alone you know there are bad low raging players that like to friend with unfair admins... There is the proof alone, i talked with Bid3k about what is his native language, and then admin kicked me saying: "stop annoying". Oh well that is fucking awesome. And i don't need to tell how many people "cannot" use google and youtube to learn about the games they play, this applies to singleplayer and multiplayer campaign. Sorry for bad English, i didn't type some of the words here right.... So that was my multiplayer rant

Hey, has anyone from the UK bought COD4 from amazon on PC? I want this game, and it is half the price on amazon compared to steam, but i am not sure as to whether it can be activated through steam? I like to have all my games on steam, so was wondering if this is possible. If not, i guess i will have to buy it on steam. So i have noticed many people from surrounding area of Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and others play game Call of duty 4, or should i say, one mod called Kill the King. I play the mod myself and it is DAMN AWESOME, IF YOU HAVE COD4 TRY IT. So i create my home servers, i really dont like to pay for them, because you wont know how people make them for you, what goes into process of creating it and is it working properly, and OFC there is a big chance of people that are actually scamming those type of services, so, as i said, i create my own. So you can run servers directly from the call of duty 4 game which wont let you insert custom mods, and to make one WITH MODS, you must copy the whole fucking cod4 folder without mods and usermaps ones, you must just make folders of them because you really dont need to copy 30 gigabytes of map that you collected from years, same goes for mods. Now i downloaded ktk mod online and inserted it into mods folder, modded the cfg's and stuff like that. Now i needed to launch the server, for that you need to create a shortcut of iw3mp.exe and insert the path and variables into properties of the shortcut itself, here is what i pasted in shourtcut target: "C:\Users\racunalo\Desktop\Games\cod4 server\iw3mp.exe" +set fs_game "mods\BalkanKtkMod" +set dedicated 2 +exec general.cfg +map_rotate Text between " 's is the path of the server folder, +set is a command that force the game to complete the command, the fs_game mods just shows where my mod is located, +set dedicated 2 just say, HEY, dont launch as a game, launch as a dedicated server, exec command is a command to execute the cfg which in our case is GENERAL.CFG and it is located in main folder in folder of the server, otherwise it wont be executed. Map rotate is default command for default rotation of maps, lots of rotations there, now my server hated completing those commands on launching server, well just executing the cfg, so i had to manually exec the damn thing for it to work. Okay so here is the part where i really hate it. So you need to download those custom mods? Yes you do, so this is what happens to the people that want to join your server: Cod4's default download place is cod4 master server, and it obviously doesn't have the mod player needs, so master server will redirect you to some places with slow download speeds. A redirect will slow this, redirect is a term also know as FastFile download. Server owner needs to create a ftp server from which cod4 will directly download the mod which causes speed improvments up to 30 times, from 10 kilobytes you can jump to 400 and 1000 kilobytes per second! That is what player want because he doesnt want to download a 65 megabyte mod at 10 kbps, right? So on Braxi forums (braxi is a girl that created this mod, yes, A GIRL) many people suggested serversfree.com ftp hosting or something like that, i dont have money so i signed up and created a place from which cod4 should download the damn mod. So in main_php or something like that i created a folder "cod4" and inside those i create two folders called "mods" and "usermaps" in mods i played the 2 mod files that user needs to download, i assigned the cfg to download from the place : http://cod4redirectserverktk.bugs3.com/cod4 so server already knows about mods located in mods folder and maps in usermaps one so i didnt list the full directory, and i tried, still didnt work. Here is the full thing from general.cfg // Client Downloadsettings (0=off/1=on) set sv_allowdownload "1" seta sv_wwwDownload "1" set sv_wwwbaseurl "http://cod4redirectserverktk.bugs3.com/cod4" seta sv_wwwDlDisconnected "0" so i setted the allowdownload and wwwdownload option to on and i left the last one off cause with it the thing wont download. So my players join the game and they get redirected from master server to this ftp and try to download the damn mod, and it "downloads" 15 and 65 meg files in 1 second like it already was, and it fucks up your game and gives you a error: fastfile for zone "mod" is corrupt or unreadable PLEASE HELP, what did i set wrong in here?
