Hello All, Yes I know this is an old thread. I just want to post my modification here in case someone wants to mod their first edition Storm Trooper (ST) case. 1. Brief History: I bought the case when it was released in India way back in 2015 or so. Loved the case design and the name Storm Trooper reminded me of Starwars. Infact the front grill/mesh design reminded me of the Darth Vaders TIE fighter wings. This cabinet has seen atleast 2 major upgrades from AMD A10-6800K to i7 4790K to i7 8086K. A very good cabinet indeed. 2. Problem: I wanted to use an AIO water cooling solution now to get better cooling for my CPU (i7 8086K) and GPU (Zotac 1080ti). But the limitation was that I could only mount a Corsair H100i on top of the case and H80i in the aft of the case. The First edition ST don't have anyways of mounting the radiators in the front. And I really didn't want to spend anymore money on buying a new case. Besides I hate the plastic/plexisheet covers that the cabinets have these days. I live in a dusty part of India and the dust accumulation in the cabinet in a span of 2-3 months is just unsightly. I airclean the cabinet after that and don't really believe in showing off the inside of the case. Besides the optional fan mounts on the closing panel are great places to put more fans to increase the airflow in the case. 3. Solution: Since I moved all mechanical drives of 3TB capacity to a NAS, and my spare 1TB SSD can be accessed from the X-Dock, I decided to sacrifice the drive cages and get more space in the front section of the case to mount the AIOs. But before I could do that, I went to the local fabricator and cut open an aluminium rectangular window bar into 2 equal L shaped sheets. Since this was done without the use of a CNC machine (used a drill bit) the finishing is not there, but then it is suppose to only hold the fans in place and then be hidden inside, so I guess I was not really for the asthetics or finish. Any how, after some tinkering around with the fan holes and their size and spaces, the mounts were made and attached at home. The High Pressure static fans were mounted on the front, to ensure air passes through the radiator fins. The high RPM fans are in the aft of the radiator , so a push and pull configuration. I salvages the original red led fans for the aft of the radiators. The final mounting will look something like this: As you can see the H100i is mounted on the top, while the H80i is on the bottom. The H100i is for the CPU and the H80i is for the GPU(with the NZXT G12 GPU bracket) This modification has not only improved the airflow in the cabinet, but also the overall cable management also. There are now i) 10 intake fans - 6 on the radiators, 2 on the floor of the cabinet (sacrificed the front box), and 2 on the side panels. ii) 2 exhaust fans - 1 on the aft(high 3000rpm...sounds like a jet engine) and the original big fan on the top. iii) I also have placed a smalled fan on top of teh backplate of the GPU to cool the system nvme iv) The RAM modules are cooled by the corsair ram cooling fans. And now the front gets some bling :- With the front mesh on Since I can't upload any more pics due attachment limitation here, that will be all....END OF LINE.

I've finally decided to get the 2080 card, even it it costs more than the 1080 Ti in performance. And the card that I've been looking at the most is the MSI x Trio, however. It is 327 mm long, and my computer case (CM Storm Trooper) only allows for GPU's with a length of up to 322 mm. Do you think that it'll fit anyway or do I have to look at a different GPU? I really don't want to buy a different case just for 5 mm. What do you guys think?

So I have owned the CM Storm Trooper case since launch and one thing that drives me nuts is keeping the front panels clean from dust. I'm a major OCD but I like to keep it clean and tidy. Also when dust does build up in the 5.25 bays you can see it easily and looks unpleasant. So my question is can anyone suggest a decent mod, fairly decent price to eliminate this but also keep good air flow? I've looked at other cases and recently bought the Corsair 330r but for various reasons I returned it (Still a very nice case). I really like the look of the Master Case 5 with this simple front panel that is all one metal mesh so something like that would be cool but would love to see any ideas from you guys on here!

I'm having a hard time deciding on which water cooler to use, do I use the H110 because of increased radiator size, or the H105 because of the increased thickness. I'm not even really sure if the H110 can fit in my case (which is a Cooler Master Storm Trooper) with a push pull config. I do plan on replacing the fans so i don't care if the fans are loud.

So I'm planning to build a gaming computer, and I was wondering what do I do for fan control.
