Hi, so I've recently bought a new GPU and after installing it, and reinstalling Windows (ye I used DDU but wanted to be sure it wasn't a problem with the driver, so I reinstalled) I noticed my GPU was crashing on AAA titles, so I installed MSI afterburner to check what was going on, and to my surprise, as I was idling (in the images below) the clock and mem were spiking, I've never really seen this before, so that's why I'm asking. I had a Corsair CS750m but It was 10 years old so I bought a new PSU to stop the crashing and that fixed that, but now I'm curious about the memory, if it's normal for it to do this while I'm not doing anything? tl:dr; the first image is when (the one with the line at like 60% is during some light gaming, which to me this looks strange af to spike up and down). Should I return the card and by another one?

Hey fellas, Just picked up a MSI RTX 2060 SUPER VENTUS GP OC for cheap!!! Card is super clean, still had all the rubber output connector plugs, box w/ documentation, anti static, etc... Only paid $130 locally on Fb... From the brief conversation I had with the seller, I'm pretty certain the card was used for mining... **** MAIN ISSUE / QUESTION **** I ran a benchmark using MSI Kombuster in order to verify temps, and that the clock speeds were boosting to where they should be, etc... Its boosting all the way up to 1950mhz and will stay there for quite a while before dropping down to 1800/1750mhz... Which is fair bit higher then the cards factory rating... The spec sheet shows a boost clock of 1665mhz. I then checked the bios version on the card and GPUz shows version: 90.06.4c.00.65 Upon searching on Techpowerup for the card model and that bios version is says that "Warning: You are viewing an unverified BIOS file." Does this mean that, that bios version is not stock and is a modified bios in order to boost the cards specs? ******* Normally I would be thrilled and not mined at all that the card is "Over clocked" and running as fast as possible! But I purchased this card to upgrade my daughters gaming pc I Built her a few years back. So because of that I want the card to be stable as possible without having to monitor it or even think about it at all. In just a few minutes I'm going to clean and replace the thermal compound and run the card though a long stress test and monitor the temps. I'm thinking that as long as the temps stay below 90c and is boosting to at least the stock 1665mhz, then it should be perfectly fine. I'll make sure to set a decent fan curve when I install it in her tower. ***** Sorry for the long elaborate post. Just want to make sure I gave all the details, etc... Thanks for your help!!!

I have an old winXP desktop, and I had booted it up a few days ago, but it would start, the fans would power on, the usb pheripherals would light up, but I would get no display, so today I checked the usb clocks, and it would stay at a constant 4.5 volts on all of the pins, and I checked on a working pc and the two middle pins were fluctuating, and that's how I determined that (atleast one of) the clocks weren't working Any help on how to resolve this issue is much apprieciated! EDIT: i cleared cmos memory and its working again???

my rtx 3050 laptop from acer nitro 5.... its rated at 75 watts but suddenly from today it srarted running ar 22 watts or 20 watts and gpu clock is stuck to 210mhz and memory clock is stuck to 840mhz and is not moving what so ever.... and my gpu is getting 99% utilization but is wayyyyy slower in performance and its temperature is around 67°C and cpu is very normal and running fine..... this issue is getting fixed by reinstalling graphics driver or by disabling discrete gpu from device manager and re-enabling it. But the probelm stays the same after consecutive cold or warm booting no matter what booting... it again becomes same and gpu power gets stuck at 22watts and core voltage gets stuck at 0.6 volts and again i have to disable enable thingy and then it works for that session.... please give a solution for the fix

Hi guys, I recently bought new parts, but I can't get them to work properly. The Rig: MB: Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII Wi-Fi CPU: AMD 5900X RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws - 2x32GB 4000MHz CL18 PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 1000W So the problem is that when I enter the BIOS and load the D.O.C.P the computer becomes unstable. I only managed to start the system with the D.O.C.P twice out of at least 20 times. What I did is I lowered the memory down to 3800MHz instead of 4000 and the FCLK accordingly to 1900 MHz. The thing is that there are so many options for overclocking this thing that I have no idea what to do to make it run as it says on the box. So any pro advice is welcome! How do I make this thing work, be stable, compliant with infinity fabric and everything else? These parts should be capable of achieving something good, right? Thank you in advance!

i stopped playing a game, and noticed my cpu temps pretty high at idle, so i tried to reapply thermal paste to see if that would solve the temps issue, but no. The usage is very low and as i said, my power plan is at balanced

So, specs: Why would the BIOS time and time in my W11 zone differ? I'm in UTC +2:00 time zone. If I set the time in BIOS to my correct regional time, then in the Windows (11) time is 2 hours past. I mean If I set BIOS time to 21:00 then in W11 time is 23:00. Suspecting this might have something to do with the machine not being able to wake from sleep or turn on automatically by set turn-on alarm. Just an anomaly or is there some actual reason for all of this? PS. Didn't know where to place this topic, so it's here.

Apparently I broke the overclocking world record by 4x, all without liquid helium, a cheap AIO is all I needed :) Seriously, anyone knows what is going on here? Is there a way to get the correct Values? A defect of the MoBo or a Bios bug? Already contacted Asus and will report back.

Hey, I'm using a Asus ROG B450-F motherboard for my Ryzen 5 3600. Not using any aftermarket cooler but instead using the stock cooler for Ryzen 7, the wraith prism one. My quesiton is what should be the idle clock speed be for my processor? I don't know much about overclocking or anything and I have kept most of the settings as it came out from the box. Just changed the power management settings to ultimate and thats pretty much it. Would love to hear from the community like what would be the ideal setting to keep. Fyi: a couple of days back I was rendeing a small video clip on premiere pro and the clock speed was 3.4 which is lower than 3600's base clock. That got me thinking that there must be something wrong here. Spec: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: Asus ROG B450-F GPU: Zotac 1660 Super Twin Fan 6GB Storage: Gigabyte 120GB SATA SSD & Seagate Barracuda 1TB PSU: Corsair CV550 550Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Thanks.

So i have a R9 3900x but its running 2.2G when its base clock is 3.78? Any ideas?

I overclocked my 9900k to 5ghz the temps are good 29-30 in idle and 60-65 in full stress, but when i open warzone the frequency go to 4.5-4.8 ;-; someone have a solution? (i have a MSI z390 MEG ACE) disclaimer: when I run any benchmark works fine in 5ghz the problem is just when I open the game.

Update: Together with @unclewebb wo really helped me out, I managed to find a way via Intel XTU to trick the CPU into thinking it's undervolted while it's actually, which allows it to draw more power. Enableing SVID is crucial as without it will never even achieve these clocks. Setting the CPU Voltage Offset to -0.465 in XTU allows me to get an all-core of 4.6 in Cinebench and a score of over 4600. Anything higher will be to much for my air cooler. Thanks webb! Original Post: Hey there, my 9900k on my Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Aura only runs at 3.2Ghz at mid/upper 60°C and a VCore of 1.28 according to HWMonitor during an all-core Cinebench R20 run (giving me ~3200 points instead of ~4800 on my MSI Z370-A Pro). AI Suite 3 gives me "Floating point division bey zero" errors while showing the same data. What's even weirder is that when idle or light load it boosts up to 4.5-4.8Ghz. Changing the voltage doesn't do anything. AI Suite gives me a power draw during load of around 105w (HWMonitor not working, 6w). On the Z370 it gives me a power draw of 160-170 (via HWMonitor). Also only one ram channel works. If I put more than 2 sticks in it won't post. Sticks are working fine if switched or on other boards and worked fine on the Z370 board. Works fine with Bios 2103 Coffeetime I really hope anyone knows what to do in order to get those clock to a reasonable level. Sincerely Timo System:

Hi All, so I just bought a second hand rx 6700xt and I have 30 days to return if there's an issue. The issue its having is that by default the clock is locked at 500 MHz. I can get it to go higher with the Amd overclocking tool but anywhere above 2400 MHz it's unstable. I've looked at it in linux and the base clock is still 500 MHz so I don't think it's a driver issue. I've thought that maybe it's a bios issue but the bios utility from the gigabyte site can't detect the card. Windows and Linux both detect and identify the card fine. I've tried reinstalling windows and reinstalling the driver multiple times. Is there anything else I can try or should I just return the card?

This question is asked millions of times on the internet but I don't know who to trust! According to puget systems, "The number of cores, memory size/type/speed, and overall architecture plays an important role as well. However, with all other things being equal, a higher clock speed card will always be faster than a lower clock speed card. The downside to a higher core speed is that the higher it is, the more power (and thus heat) is required." but when I research further people say it doesn't matter and just look at benchmarks or something like that.

Hey guys, I recently bought an MSI gtx 1070 X (base clock: 1582, boost clock: 1771) and so far I'm really satisfied with it, although I've experienced some minor issues. I'm a big fan of fallout so I do play it a lot. Because of this I discovered my clockspeed drops below boost or even base clockspeed (clockspeed 1240 and sometimes +-950) causing my fps to drop below 60 fps which is very noticeable (unlike gta5, you don't notice an fps drop at all). This only occurs in some parts of the map (Fallen skybridge, central part of the map, for those who play it) which I think is odd because my card can actually keep clocking at it's normal clockspeed at all times, right? (sometimes it clocks even higher than boost clock in games like Fallout and The Witcher 3 without me overclocking it in any way) I do experience this problem sometimes too in ASTRONEER but this is just a known issue with this alpha game where fps doesnt go past 20 fps when you have built a lot in your map. (clockspeed around 400) Does this have anything to do with my settings or just a bug in the game or something else? I haven't changed any core clock or memory clock setting in MSI afterburner so the card should be behaving on factory settings at that point. Thanks in advance (sorry for bad english)

Hi all. Anyone else having this issue with their iPhone? The status bar at the top of the screen randomly disappears while on the home screen. It comes back when I'm in apps, like now as I'm typing in safari. A reboot fixes it, but I wondered if it was a bug that had a known cause or something

basically i spend "some time"(6h or so....) doing some RAM overclocking and i ended up with this: basically is this any better then stock which is this: clocks are looser on the overclock and i dont have the 1T comand rate either but its running 300MHz faster. which one is the better one? all timings were set to auto and i got this, i can get higher speeds but it loosens the timinngs even more. i cant run stock timings with the 2201MHz speed so i just stuck them all on auto for now. anyway which one is the better one?

I overclocked my 6700k to stable 4.6 and 4.7ghz (tested with realbench, able to run at max clock). How ever, when I test it with aida64, intel burn in, cinebench, the cpu doesn't reach max oc clock it usually stay between 4.2-4.5.I don't know what caused it. I cleared cmos, reinstalled windows, turn off c state and est but the problem still there. When every settings is at stock (cpu and motherboard), the clock never stay at 4.2 ghz when using cinebench, intel burn in, and aida64. It only stay at 4.0ghz. The 6700k should get up to 4.2ghz when under load.PLZ helpppp I am using the kraken x61 and msi z170a pc mate motherboard.

I have a I7-4790k and due to things unrelated they make my computer over heat, I don't have a good heat sink so every time I see my cpu go over 4.00ghz I kinda get worried. I'm sure having the cpu go up and down is good for applications and things, but what if I just want it at a fixed clock speed?

Hello, I am experiencing weird issue, I was trying to google about it, but had no luck, so I am trying to find my luck troubleshooting here. i just built a new Ryzen system, and system clock is running slower than actual time. for example in one minute on my phone, pc clock goes about 45-50 seconds. But time not always go like that sometimes after reboot it is fine sometimes it is not. Has anyone experienced that? thanks hardware: asus crosshair 6 hero ryzen 7 1700 @ 4.0 ghz corsair veangeance lpx 2x16 @ 2666mhz nvidia gtx1080 FE RM850i psu samsung 960evo ssd + 3 sata drives win 10
