Hello. I have just installed a MSi MPG A750GF on my computer, to replace a Corsair RM750 which threw the towel after 9 years of use. Firstly, I installed the PSU on another computer, and noticed that the CPU cooler would quickly turn on and off after the PSU was set to receive current. OK, that does not mean anything, I thought. I removed it from that computer, removed the EVGA 600B (decent, but does not have all the connectors I need, besides consuming more power, after 7 years of usage) and installed it on the main. With all the LEDs and everything, that behavior is way more evident, and I'm worried that this PSU will kill my components by doing this every time I set its switch to receive current. You can watch two videos showing the bevahior here: Imgur album. Every night, I turn off all the surge protectors (or whatever you call it) so the LEDs are off. Therefore, every morning this will happen. Right now, I'm using the computer with this MSi PSU installed, but I'm not convinced that this is normal, at all. I read that it may click once turned on, as an internal test, but mine turns everything on and off, wtf? Please tell me whether this is truly normal or should I return it and never again buy a "premium" PSU. The way I see it, the more I spend on a PSU, the more headaches it gives me.

I have a very strange popping/pulse sound occurring in the signal of my Blue Yeti USB Mic. Below is a recording taken from Audacity - 10 seconds background ambience, then 10 seconds of humming (when the clicking/popping/"pulse" begins), and 10 final seconds of ambience again. It seems that something is interfering with the signal beyond a certain level? This problem is present whether I am just monitoring through Windows 11, monitoring through OBS Studio, or recording in Audacity, but only when it actually receives signal louder than ambience. Any ideas on things I should try? Windows, drivers, etc are up to date, have tried system restart, PC has been used for only two days. I do have a FiiO external sound card connected but this would/should only effect my output (speakers or headphones) as the mic is connected directly to the PC via USB. I also use voicemeeter banana to route some things to a second desktop audio channel to keep them from airing on stream. Not sure either would have any relevance but trying to provide thorough info. This microphone works perfectly fine on a second PC (with exact same configuration in terms of software and connected devices); this one is just built and upon switching to it is when this problem manifested. Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. I have tried connecting it to different USB ports away from any other USB connections, I have tried disabling my WiFi, I have tried disabling voicemeeter, I have tried lowering gain in windows, I have tried tweaking power settings, all to no avail. Old system is Win10, I think with an RX 580. New system is Win11 and has a 4080/13900k (so it's probably drawing a bit more power, and has more sophisticated cooling with an AIO and six case fans). Just before posting this, I connected sound card, mic, peripherals etc to old PC to fire it up and make sure the cable/blue yeti didn't just develop a new problem. It is still perfectly clear and crisp on the old system, but this clicking noise won't seem to go away no matter what I try on the new machine. Before I give up and order a new microphone, I'd greatly appreciate anyone with any insight on this pointing me in the right direction/towards anything they think could help. I've been digging reddit/google etc all day and I'm running out of places to turn. Thank you for taking time out of your day to try to help me. I have (2) 4TB Western Digital Gold HDDs in RAID 1 (mirrored) and (2) 8TB HGST HDDs in RAID 1 (Mirrored) as well. I use both arrays for DATA only. I have a Samsung 860 EVO SSD (1TB) as my primary drive with Win 10 x64 pro. I have another Samsung 860 EVO SSD (2TB) as a DATA drive that I use for Virtualbox VMs (Virtual Machines). Periodically I am getting some really weird successive clicking sounds that do not give me a good feeling. Hoping someone here can ID the sounds and let me know if I should be worried or not. The sound occurs like 6 times in succession. It happens usually only once during a power up cycle ... as far as I can tell. I wear my headphones a lot, so Im not always paying attention. I have added LINKS to the SOUND and MY HDD Benchmarks. NOTE(s): - The RAID setup is using Windows built-in software RAID setup - The benchmarks were taken on each HDD separately before they were put in a RAID configuration - I bought the 2nd HGST HDD a year later that the first. I've noticed that it runs 3 deg C hotter and the throughput is about 20% slower - The HDDs are about (1) year old except for the new HGST drive. - The MOBO has SATA 2 which is supposed to have 3Gbs (300MB/s) maximum speeds. How is that the 2TB Samsung 860 EVO is getting 500MB/s + speeds? Let me know what you think I should do to make sure things are working correctly. If there is a questionable drive, how do I go about isolating it? What software do you recommend for testing? I use CrystalDiskMark and HDTune. Are these sounds routine for drives in a RAID 1 configuration? As always, Thanks in Advance. Okay so around a week ago i got a new PSU which i was satisfied with because finally i can rest knowing my PSU is enough for my pc. not until my GPU a gtx 1660 super zotac AMP started doing...weird stuff. When i turn on the pc it makes a noise of someone pulling on a string (The fans) it doesn't sound like rattling. And at certain speeds from 58 to 63% the fans click and you can hear it if you put your ear on top of the case since i don't have cooling fans on the top. not loud but audible clicking. and once it goes to 64 or 65% all the way up to 100% it's fine.. And of course Warranty works differently in Egypt so if i ever have to send it to RMA all they do is put the card on a test bench (Vertically) and run furmark. if it doesn't overheat or crash then the card is perfectly fine so it would be pointless to RMA it.. is it okay to leave it like that ? or is everything just going to get worse from there? Thanks in advance !!

Hi Guys, I hope that you can help me with this as I am all out of options. My PC is acting up as it keeps opening tabs, windows (anything that can be opened) while hovering. This happens frequently but not all the time however it's making the use of the computer very frustrating. I tried other mice's , usb port, reinstalled fresh OS. After reinstalling the OS it is a little better but it still did not disappear. What else can I try and what could be the problem? Thank you guys I appreciate it!

I had an issue where all audio was accompanied by a clicking sound and audio with videos would gradually become more and more out of sync. I updated all drivers, used multiple different output devices with different cables etc, I ran system file checker and refreshed windows. Today, I noticed that when I got a MalwareBytes notification (I have only had malwarebytes for about 2 weeks, the same length of time I've had the issue) that my audio severly slowed down along with mouse movements. I immediately uninstalled malwarebytes and everything is back to normal. No audio clicking, popping or delays. I don't require any help, the purpose of this post is to serve as a reference for anyone who google a similar issue.

So I recently built my first computer and noticed a weird clicking every so often. It kinda sounds like a faulty hhd, but there isn't any in the system. The system is fully air cooled, but nothing is hitting any fans that I can see. Any advice is much appreciated Build: Case: NZXT H710 (stock cooling) Mobo: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon CPU: Intel Core i9 9900k GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 8GB CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Air Maker 8 Ram: Corsair VengeanceLPX16gb (2 8gb sticks) Power Supply: Cooler Master MasterWatt 750w 80+ Bronze Thank you! Hi LTT Community, For a while, I've had a strnage issue regarding my custom PC. Periodically, my computer would make very strange clicking noises. I think it's the PSU, but I'm not sure. I've attached a recording of some of the clicking noise. In this case, it's of the computer's startup, but it isn't isolated to that. It's rather random, not particuarly showing up only during heavy loads, more of an random issue... My case (in "case" it's a case fan, pun not intended...at first) is a Corsair SPEC-01, and my current PSU is a CX600M. I have an EVGA GTX 960 SC, and my CPU is a i5-6500 with the stock fan. If you guys could take a listen and tell me what you think it is, that would be much appreciated. Note: I did just order a new PSU (Corsair HX750, as I'm upgrading to modular), so it may be resolved soon. I'll update this thread if it fixes it. Odd Clicking.m4a

Hi all! If this is the wrong sub for this content then my apologies. Long story short my computer will every so often start to type and click on its own. It doesn't move the mouse so it just clicks wherever the mouse is at that time and types in that window. It's been doing this off and on for a while now and I decided I want answers! I let it do it's thing in a notepad document and it came up with stuff I know I have typed in the past. So it's typing stuff I've typed months after I typed it, after tens (maybe hundreds) of restarts and turning off and on. I've run countless whole computer virus scans and it finds nothing. I've upgraded the hardware (still the same SSD and HDD's) and it still does it. Anyone got any idea why it's doing this and how to stop it?

Today I booted my PC. As it was loading the bios the HDD started to make a loud rapid clicking sound. After about a minute the clicking sound starts to fade away, within 5 seconds it stops completely. My HDD is now dead silent. This has happened a couple of times in the past, but rarely occurs back to back. Should I be concerned?

So I've been having this issue now for a week or so and yesterday I wen't to diagnose it, the main suspect was my Hyper 212 Evo, so I tried plugging it out and booting to no avail, the sound still persisted so I plugged it in again, after trying each fan I came to a conclusion that it was one of my Corsair AF140s that made the sound, so I screwed it out and took it out of the case, after this I went downstairs to show my dad the fan and explain the problem, so he grabbed it and spun it e.t.c and while he was doing that I noticed a click sound that happened when the fan was upside down (outtake) and he shook it, so now I'm wondering if maybe I should make them intake and try that. To add to that I discovered after taking out that fan that the noise persisted but for a shorter period of time and at a lower volume. Before I did this the noise would go on for 30 minutes before disappearing now it only lasted for 10 seconds. To add to injury the fan was plugged into CPU optional and now my Hyper 212 has to work harder making it just as noisy as before. The case is a Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed and it had 5 fans before (now 4) of which 3 where AF140 and the other 2 where the included FD fans 4 of these fans where plugged into my mobo (Asus Maximus IX Hero) in 3 of which where plugged into CHA-1 to 3 and the other one in the CPU-OPT plug. The last fan is connected to my ASUS Strix 1080Ti OC and only turns on after the GPU hits 60C. The AF140s where all plugged into the mobo and the one above the heatsink was plugged i to CPU-OPT. All of them where exhausts (top and back) aswell as the Hyper212. The FD fans are intakes and are at the front, one of which (bottom) is plugged into the GPU. All of them are set to Standard airflow in the BIOS. As of right now the system runs stable without it but I am worried that the same might happen to other 2 fans. And I'm not stupid, the fan screws are tightened and theres nothing in the way of the fan. Any suggestions are a huge help, thanks!

As the title says when my Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 8GB starts the fans up it makes a clicking sound / rattle type sound, but I found out that leaving fans on from the PC starting up and never let them turn off and leave then 40% onward's for temps as it get hotter. I set the fan to Auto 40-60% 0 to 55 c, 55 c to 80 c Auto fan 60 to 90% and 80+ 100% it is just so it only needs to spin up is when I turn my PC on. Since it's just a might be a lose cable to the fans or fan blade bearings that might be bad and needs a oil but since this GPU is brand new less then 3 months old. Should I get RMA or leave the fans since I have no trouble with the card besides this and this card was a replacement for a bad card with horrid coil whine. So just leave the fans running while on my PC?????

Anyone know what's making this sound? http://chirb.it/sLrs6d It's been happening for a while now and i can't figure out what it is, it isn't a fan clipping a wire already checked for that. If anyone has a rough idea of what it is it'll save me taking apart 2 PCs.

I recently built a computer and my 2 TB Seagate hard drive keeps making this clicking noise. I found a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8x4-1op4Ag) that has the same problem as me but I still couldn't figure out a solution. You may need to turn the volume up or use headphones to hear it in the video. It's a new drive and I have checked it for failures multiple times and they all come up as safe. I don't know if it's relevant, but I have an M.2 drive for Windows, a 1 TB SSD for games, and obviously a 2 TB HDD for everything else.

I bought a refurbished Hitachi HDD about 2 years ago now. About 6 months ago when accessing it, it will make a horrible clicking noise, but only when accessing certain files. I can use Macrium Reflect to make a image backup of the Hitachi drive but no sound is made, totally silent. On the other hand If I try to import skyrim mods that are in .zip format it will click like mad. The clicking happens when either writing or reading from the drive but as stated before only with certain files. Hope Someone Can Help! Thanks!

Hello, lately I've been having this one problem with my external hard drive. It would click and then wind down every few seconds. I was able to trace it back to my USB hub not giving it enough power. I plugged into my PC and got no clicks, and then I plugged it back into my USB hub to see if it was gonna happen and sure enough, it did. Nothing was on the drive so it doesn't matter if it goes to crap. But my question is, is there a chance that it is now damaged due to all that clicking? Should I test it? I can't find any sources on Google. Thanks, -Widgeto

Someone please help, I left my computer on overnight bc I was letting a server run on my PC, and I woke up this morning to find none of my keyboard controls worked, anytime I click a key a weird clicking noise comes from headphones, the only key that doesn't make clicking noise is fn, If I turn my PC off I'll lose the data on the server, please help, I can't even alt tab or Ctrl alt delete or anything, it just clicks at me

A while back the pump for my swiftech H320 x2 cooling system began making obnoxious stuttering and clicking noises during operation. If I use a special loop testing switch for my 24pin cable the system runs with a soothing hum, however operating with the 24pin connected to the motherboard the pump makes the aforementioned obnoxious noises. Has anyone had an issue like this before, or perhaps offer some insight on what might be causing it.

I have an Asus G502-VT-FY090T laptop. It has an 128gb SSD and a 1Tb HDD. Since yesterday i've been hearing a constant clicking noise coming from it like "tzzt tzzt tzt tzzzt tzt", i restarted it a couple of times and it won't stop. It happened once a couple of months ago but it was just a one time thing and had stopped since.. anyway this clicking isn't loud but every now and then a loud "CLUCK" noise is heard. I got suspicious that maybe it's the hard drive so i donwloaded both HD Tune and CrystalDiskInfo. both are giving me a C5 current pending sector warning on the HDD. (See attachments please) those numbers seem rather large but I wouldn't know, what's happening exactly and what should I do?

Just as the title says, one of my EK Vardar Evo fans (the bottom one on my front radiator) has been making a super loud clicking noise when the fan spins a certain RPM. at first i tought it was the bearing, but then i would need to hear the noise all the time, which isn't the case. Is there any way to prevent/fix this? i really don't want to RMA the fan, as that would mean taking apart pretty much my entire cooling loop.

So basically I have had so many issues with my pc since I built it. Mostly an odd buzzing noise that noone has been able to figure out (ive changed all parts pretty much 3 times except my cpu and ram so isn't coil whine etc). However, now I've noticer on high settings on some games, my psu is making a lot of clicking, popping noises... Im struggling to get a video/audio clip of the sound as all you can hear on videos is the fan where in real life the clicking is much louder than the fan. I have swapped psu 3 times so I don't understand how it can be that? My build is Ryzen 1700 (not oced) Asus 1070 rog strix 16gb ram 2400 Asrock taichi x370 Evag 650w g2 Surely my psu isn't too low wattage? I literally have no idea what to do.
