I'm going to upgrade my CPU cooler to a noctua nh-d14 or a noctua nh-d15. Does the $20 price difference justify its performance? Also, I have the Node 804 m-atx case and the specifications say that it supports cpu coolers up to 160mm. The nh-d14 is 160mm with fans, and the nh-d15 is 165mm with fans. Will it work, or does that 5mm mean it wont fit at all?

Hey guys, I have a 7700K system currently paired with an NH-D15. In a month or two, I'm upgrading to a 12600K system that I've slowly been building up, but I'm in a bit of a pickle. This 7700K system is being handed down to my fiancé as a small upgrade from her current system, and I'd like to make the transfer of hardware as simple as possible, which means I'd like to keep the NH-D15 attached to the board. Only issue is, I need a hand finding a case that can fit it. Ideally, it needs to be on dual fan mode and also clear a kit of G.Skill Ripjaws V. Dual fan mode makes the CPU cooler height about 175mm. What cases can you guys recommend that could fit that? Ideally we're looking for a mid-tower but anything a little bigger is fine. I originally planned to get her a Fractal Design Pop Air XL but the way the front I/O is configured will be awkward to use based on where the PC will sit. Would a case like the Corsair 4000D or 5000D fit it in the dual fan configuration? It does say 170mm clearance but I'm always skeptical, people have been able to fit things where they can't usually fit before.

I have G.Skill Aegis in Slot A2 and B2 on a MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max. Does the Dark Rock Pro 4 work with my RAM (mayby with pushing the fan up a little bit)? Does anyone have the same RAM+CPU cooler? Or is the cooler an overkill for a cpu with 105W TDP?

I am planning to rework my current PC, however I am concerned about clearance issues. I want to go with an Asus ROG B550 A, 32GB of T Force RAM (4x8), and an NZXT Z63. I have heard here and there that using all four DIMM slots on Asus motherboards interferes with AIO pump clearance. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this specific combo, or general knowledge about it. Thank you for the help, I greatly appreciate it.

Hello chaps! I'm debating on getting an NH-U12S, but I'm a bit worried about cleareance, according to Noctua's site, it should fit, but I'm using 4 corsair vengeance rgb pro ram sticks, so I am a bit worried about clearance there. Has anyone had a similiar build to this, and if so, how has that worked out for you?:) Parts below for ease of communication. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nCZx6r I'm currently using the Wraith Prism, which has the clearance for the ram here, but its pretty close in there. The case apparently has a 160mm headway, the cooler needs 158. I'm worried the ram slot will be blocked, or the ram will be too tall.. Thank you in advance, peeps.:)

Hello community, it's my first post and I need some help with my new build. The Motherboard will be ATX Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra. The Case is ATX Antec P82 Flow. I'm wondering if I have enough clearance for a Noctua NH-D15SE-AM4. The RAM I have in mind is the G.SKILL Trident Z 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3333MHz CL16. I'm new to this whole pc building thing and this is pretty much the last step I need before I complete my first build. Help is appreciated!

Hello, I have recently started buying parts for a mid-high end pc build based around the new corsair 4000D case. While researching I was also trying to decide whether I should get a 360mm rad and place it on the front, or get a 280mm rad for the top. But my question is, will my ram sticks fit with the top mounted rad? My Ram: Corsair Vengeance (2 X 16gb) sticks of 3600 DDR4 memory. Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow. Radiator Corsair H115i Pro XT RGB radiator. (280mm top mounted) Motherboard: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Wifi Edit: The motherboard choice is not final, I am also trying to decide between these 3 motherboards with either the Ryzen 9 3900x or the 5900x. Any help is greatly appreciated. Motherboard 1:MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Wifi Motherboard 2:Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming Wifi Motherboard 3:MSI MPG B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi Thanks!

Does anyone know if this note holds up or if everything I need comes with the cooler? "The Noctua NH-D15S 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard." Thanks in advance!

I’m using the Cooler Master HAF XB case and the cooler master V8 GTS cooler. I was wanting to put a 200mm case fan on the top window but I don’t think it would fit since the cooler is so tall. Is there any way around this other than just buying a new cooler?

Hi, I recently built the machine with below specs : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 64GB (4x16) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2 missing in the picture) Corsair Hydro H100i RGB Platinum Gigabyte Aorus X570 ULTRA EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Black 6x Corsair LL120 Corsair Commander PRO 64GB (4x16) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2 x Samsung 970 EVO 1TB Corsair iCue 220T Airflow However I was forced to place my AIO in the front of the case instead of the top due to clearance issues with the Vegeance pro RGB ram (wider than normal), I feel this is an oversight from corsair because literally 1mm more space in height and this problem would be non-existent. This results in idle GPU Temps of 57 C*, which does not allow the fans to shut off, removing the AIO from the front results in idle temps of 50-51 C* Anyone have any suggestions of how to move the AIO to the top? or some good looking air cooler that might work? I tried the NH-U12S Chromax Black, however R7 3800X temps were around 58 c* idle. Basically im just wondering if I'm missing something stupidly obvious here Thanks in advance (pictures attached)

Is the ENERMAX ETS-T40F-BK cooler compatible with my NZXT Phantom 530 series case, EVGA Classified Z270 case, and G.Skill value ram?

I am looking to upgrade my PC to run Octane render, and I am planning on sticking several more gpus in my build. at this point, I am salvaging parts from my current PC and building a new one. I am bringing over my Asus strix 980 ti and all of my storage and disc drives (yes i still use discs). My biggest concern (besides price) has been thermals. As stated many times in the compensator build videos, stacking gpus without water cooling is not the best idea. I am willing to go the extra mile and get hybrid cooled cards, even thinking about a custom loop (which I know nothing about). My first question is what would be the best way to have 4 gpus and have good cooling? My new PC will have these parts: Corsair 750D i7 7700k Corsair h100i v2 Asrock z270 supercarrier corsair vengence 32gb (2x 16gb) ddr4-3000 evga supernova 1300 gold psu bluray drive dvd drive 2x 480gb ssds & 1x 3tb hdd second question: here are my original thoughts: I was thinking of getting a 1080 ti FE for the first slot, 2x msi 1070 sea hawk hybrid gpus, and stick my 980 ti on the bottom, there it would have a extra slot to breathe (b/c the 750d has 9 exp slots). I thought this was good until i realized that all of the fan, usb, and i/o headers were on the bottom of the board, and that my 980 ti could interfere with them, which could be a deal breaker. You would think that the manufacturers would make sure that they wouldn't interfere, right? So, my second question is (again referring to compensator), do the bottom ports interfere with the gpu, because if yes, than I'd have to think of a new gpu configuration. lastly, just two quick points. this is not an sli set up, as octane doesn't use sli. Also, the parts listed above are not finalized (except for the case, and i'd like to keep my 980 ti). I am willing to look at a different motherboard, cpu, etc. layout if there is a better option. Thanks!

So I dun goofed today. I run an ITX build in a Thermaltake Core V1. I sold my Zotac GTX 970 and then hastily bought a Palit GTX 980 Jetstream. This upgrade cost me no money, fyi. I sold my 970 for the price of the 980. It was a lucky coincidence. OBVIOUSLY this GPU doesn't fit my case and I'm an idiot (inb4 you're an idiot, check the clearance first). So my ghetto solution is to use a riser and have the card sit fans-down outside of the case. I did a brief search and it seems as long as the fans of the GPU have air, it shouldn't impact performance, so i will have the card raised from the table my PC sits on without obstructing the fans. This is a temporary measure. As stupid as this sounds, does it sound do-able / realistic for now?

I know that the case in question supports a variety of rads as listed here but alas, I don't know how thick I can go before hitting the motherboard or whether or not I could build a custom loop in this with 1 top and 1 front mounted 280 rad in pull config and use a 5.25 bay res/pump combo. I know that I would have to remove the 5.25 bay for 360 rads but I also don't know if it supports dual 360 rads comfortably without having to do weird stuff with fittings or mod the case.

By chance - does anybody know the depth of the motherboard and CPU combined? I suspect that it may not be a standard, but think that the variance may be marginal.

Whats up guys, Im an owner of a Ryzen 5 1600 system (atm stock cooler), using Patriot Viper 4 8gb(2x4GB kit) 3200MHz, inside of a SilentiumPC Aquarius X70T Pure Black Case (should have 175mm height cpu cooler potential https://www.silentiumpc.com/en/aquarius-x70t-pure-black/). Im currently going to buy a CPU Air cooler around 80-90€. I have 3 choices RN: (Also I forgot to tell, my case has full tempered glass side panel so visuals matter)1. Noctua NH-D15 SE AM4- I like this one the most, it has everything except the aesthetics. (Altough I dont consider them being that bad and I can definitely imagine that brown thing sitting in my case)2. Cryorig R1 Ultimate / Universal- both of them are awesome looking, even though they are just a little weaker on the performance side compared to noctua. I dont know if the Universal´s better ram clearance would help me so Im stating both of them here.3. be quiet! Dark Rock PRO 3- I like this one the least of these coolers, but still, it looks very good and still is one of my choices.Alright, so the thing is, I have two problems interconnected together. RAM Clearance and Case Width. In case that my RAMs are too high for noctua, I know I can raise the front fan. Dunno if this can be done with the two others. What I also dont know is if I would be able to fit that raised fan in my case. Thanks for reading through and I will thankfully accept all suggestions etc. Oh and when Zen2 is here, Im gonna get something bigger than just a 65W tdp cpu, so the power will not be wasted, do not worry:)

Right now I have a set of Dominator Platinum RAM, but unfortunately I'm running into clearance issues with my rear mounted radiator. Could anyone with Trident Z (RGB) RAM please let me know if the top of your RAM is higher or lower than the top of your IO shield? (If its lower then I can fit it) Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi all, I need to e get some new RAM and want to ask anybody that owns Trident Z RAM to tell me whether the top of your RAM is taller than the top of your IO shield. Need to check clearance before I buy! Thanks in advance

Would anyone be able to tell me if I'd have any clearance issues with an ASUS Maximus IX Code in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG if I mounted a 240 radiator on the top, towards the back?

I've recently been overclocking my fx-6300. Surprisingly the stock cooler has held up pretty well, despite numerous posts on forums that it wouldn't be good at all. I've been able to overclock to 3.8GHz stable, 3.9 will boot but crash soon after. My temps could be better, but for a stock cooler, I think they're pretty ok, but I might be wrong. The temps level out at 65C on AIDA64. Voltages I haven't messed with, I've left it at auto; but I suspect it's not actually changing it, which may be why it crashes? I don't really want to mess with the voltage until I have a cooler that can handle the higher temps better. I don't have a lot in the budget right now, so I was looking at the Hyper Evo 212. I want to get at least to 4.0GHz on my PC, I think the 212 should be able to handle that. The question is, can my case handle the cooler? This is my case. I've searched everywhere, but I can't find a definitive answer. Some say yes, some say no. I'd like to hear from somebody who maybe has experience with this case or one of the same width. This would be my first CPU cooler upgrade, so I'm quite the novice in this regard. If it can't be done, I'd like to hear from you guys what cooler might do the trick. I researched the Hyper T2, but I'm just not sure, as I've read some reviews saying the build quality was low and the fan was quite loud. Thanks in advance!
