  1. I'm writing this just to add on to the countless other complains that have been registered on the issue of the Logitech mouse start double clicking after even few months of use. I personally had to RMA two g304s before the warranty expired and guess what? it broke again, while thankfully I was able to get myself a refund that's not a solution (warranty period is only a year in my region and usually takes a month to 40 days to get the product back). A close friend had to RMA a g304 (he also refunded it in the end to save himself from the headache), one of his g403 started to double click shortly after the warranty period expired. I just can't understand why a big name like Logitech can't do its own switch RND and develop its own switch technology or at the very least use the better Japanese Omrons instead of the cheap Chinese ones. Like wth Logitech? Even their flagship mouse the GPW has the same double clicking issue. Seeing Razer developing its own optical switches and Asus ROG providing hot swappable switches I'm curious to see what Logitech does to solve this issue that plagues all of its mouse or at least the G branding ones, that is if they even bother to. Its ridiculous at this point tbh.
  2. Hi I remember reading a article about China gonna make memory chips, that was a year or two ago now and I wonder did they ever make any? Does any of the RAM sticks we can buy today contain any of these? Last sticks I got was SK Hynix(Kingston & Patriot), Samsung(Corsair DDR3) & Samsung(G.Skill DDR4) again... Also if non of the major ones then who does use em? :I
  3. I have a Xiaomi Mi6 with MIUI Global 11.0.6. I was browsing the list of my apps and then on the very bottom is a Chinese App named " 小米金服安全组件 ". Can anyone help me if this is a malware or anything? Thank you! Here is the app along with its version. The apk name is " com.xiaomi.jr.security ".
  4. Hello again my fellow computer nerds. So I bought two graphics cards off the online shopping app "Letgo".. they were listed as AMD RX580's.. 8gb gddr5.. First red flag was when I asked him 3 different times who made it... And, Asus, etc, and he ignored the question.. I got the feeling he was trying to rip me off, but at the listed price he had of 200$, and me talking him down to 160$, it was worth seeing what came out if it.. I told him I would need to plug it into my computer to confirm it worked, and confirm it was an 8gb rx580.. he agreed.. usually people who are trying to pull some funny business don't want you to look under the hood.. he got here and we talked and he told me they are generic brand cards, but they are indeed 8gb rx580's.... I ended up not having an 8 pin plug in my PC so I couldn't confirm it worked so I told him I was going to pass.. he then told me that he really needed the money bad and if I bought it and anything was wrong he would give me my money back.. I told him I would do it if he gave me both cards for 160$ total.. he agreed.. as soon as he left I realized I had two 6 pin cords hiding behind something in my case, so I installed them and went to hook up the crossfire bridge and realized there are NO fingers on the PCB to plug them in... So I installed just one, installed a power supply booster that has the correct cords.. installed amd rx580 drivers online from AMD.. everything works perfectly fine.. device manager and gpu-z and ccc all say it indeed is an 8gb rx580, all the clock speeds are right, everything looks legit.. and performance wise, they rock.. 1080p on ultra settings I'm getting 50-80 fps in world of Warcraft, counter strike source I'm getting 294 for on maxed settings.. it did artifact kinda bad one time while watching YouTube, but hasn't happened since.. temps are good.. everything seems fine... But it is clearly NOT a legite AMD RX580.. the shroud is different and has no branding... Just now I took it apart to see if I could see anything identifying on the PCB, and to my surprise, it has 8memory chips, and has an and branded chip..... What in the hell is this GPU???
  5. Hi, i want to get a new psu to replace the integrated 320 w one in hp compaq pc's since i need a 6 pin for an RX 580, and im on 60 / 70 dollars budget, so i couldnt find any psu for that price in my country ( PSU's are so overpriced here ). i found this one on aliexpress : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000207704736.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.74133c0099AyO3&mp=1 Its a 650W PSU with pretty good reviews and they claim that it is 80+ Bronze rated, im only gonna use it to power up an i7 3770 and a rx 580, is it still dangerous to buy this psu even if the power consumption will not be even close to 600 w ? what do you think about this psu ? PS : i already tried to search for a better options but i didnt find any for that price atm.
  6. Hello, My background mysteriously changed to some Chinese caligraphy. Whenever I change the background back to the default, it switches back to this Chinese caligraphy. Is it a virus? How do I remove it? (FYI, I have a paid version of ESET antivirus.)
  7. Hey there yall techy people I really need help about haswell e5-26** (v3) series xeons . So I'm thinking about a build that makes good use of old xeons like the e5-2620v3, e5-2658v3, e5-2640v3 or e5-2678v3 Because they are really affordable and I would love to have many cores as well . But I'm baffled about buying any of the above mentioned xeons because they are Absolutely awesome, but I need to know if all of them support ddr3 ecc on this x99 motherboard . ⬇ ↙ Chinese Huanan Motherboard click, here. I'm sure that the e5-2678v3 supports ddr3 whether ecc or not. I'm not sure about the others so any help would be appreciated. And throw in some misc facts, tips and tricks bout this platform as well.
  8. Pic: https://i.imgur.com/9CEkOL1.jpg (circled in red are jumpers I know nothing of) Does anyone know if any of these highlighted jumpers cause the CMOS settings to be reset after every power-out (unplugged from wall)? I have replaced with a new battery but my BIOS settings keeps getting restored to defaults. It's a Huanan X79 (mATX) (not sure the actual model number). I've only just got started on it so I'm not too keen to change any jumper settings without knowing what they are (not printed on board) first. I've contacted the seller, but not even they know. They advised me to just leave it. But I'm suspecting one of these jumpers to be a CMOS reset. Thanks!
  9. Hey guys, I recently grab some hardware that I had seen on YouTube, mainly just to tinker with. It’s a “PlexHD X79t” motherboard and an E5 1680v2 Xeon. And yes I know the Xeon draws way too much power for the power delivery but it’s mainly just tinkering hardware. My problem is the CPU won’t clock above 3.7ghz no matter what the BIOS tells it. (I also fully unlocked the BIOS to see if there were hidden options) I have increased power limit durations and toggled P and C states on and off with no luck of getting higher clocks. If anyone has experience with these boards any advice would be appreciated. Thanks PS I attached a scroll through of the BIOS options I unlocked FullSizeRender.mov
  10. so i found this cheap 170 doller 240hz monitor on alibaba, from this company called "Guangzhou Xihong Technology Co", and i was wondering if anyone knew if this company was trustworthy, or if the monitor is any good. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/240Hz-HDR-OEM-frameless-27-inch_62257744834.html?src=sem_ggl&mark=google_shopping&src=sem_ggl&mark=shopping&cmpgn=1678575544&adgrp=64891157946&locintrst=&locphyscl=1013714&ntwrk=g&device=c&dvcmdl=&position=1o3&pla_adtype=pla&pla_mrctid=140291795&pla_channel=online&pla_prdid=62257744834&pla_country=US&pla_lang=en&pla_group=293946777986&pla_localcode=&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0brtBRDOARIsANMDyka9TH7UO10vnsM_2lh-s4mIYiyLyQT7wD1AChNBoOkWO67ixukG61EaAvg5EALw_wcB#shopping-ads
  11. So, I have an idea for my next PC build everything is going to be the same as what's in pcpicker however I'm going to use the mobile 1150 hq chip instead of the i5 but I don't know how well it will perform with the gpu picked out would like some input, I know the Intel chip isn't recommended however it is a good solid price point to see an Intel chip all things considered and buying it off of eBay you save the Hassel from taopao. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J29Bgw

  16. YouTube Video Review Vido W8X Review Introduction. This review is about the Vido W8X, One of the lesser known brands of chinese electronics in Shenzhen. Also an few dollars more expensieve as its competitors making it an less sold device. Today we are going to find out. Price and specs. At the moment the Vido W8X switches from owner for $99.89. It has the following specifications CPU: Intel Atom x5-Z8300 RAM: 2GB ROM/STORAGE: 32GB SCREEN: 8.0 inch 1280 x 800 IPS OS: Windows 10 BATTERY: 4200mAh Dual cameras Bluetooth 4.0 HDMI + Headphone + Micro USB + TF Design and build quality. Screen protector is scratched by me. The first thing you can notice is the nice detail with white and black color. holding the tablet towards yourself gives the impression its entirely black. While holding it the way around makes it look all white. I think this is an nice design feature. Left to right: Cube iwork8, Chuwi Vi8 Plus, Vido W8X As you can see the tablet is pretty much plastic. The design is not very high end material. However this tablet has the best screen / bezel ratio! The white Cube iwork8 above. With the same 8 inch screen size. Takes more space. Another thing I like about this model is the native windows touch button. The chuwi has an more inconvenient button at the top that doesn't really do the job. As for the thickness its about the same as the rest. Inputs and outputs. Another distinct design choice is the labeling of the inputs and outputs on the backside of the tablet. Labels showing the input and output ports. These labels might come in handy but can look an bit chaotic. But so does the chinese text on the back. First thing I wanted to talk about is the speaker. Like the other models it has an single speaker on the back. The difference between these is that the speaker of the Vido W8X is not just loud. But also without much distortion. But as you would expect for an single speaker in an device like this. It does not sound that great. There is no bass and pretty much only high sound gets blown out the small hole on the back. See the video for comparison. Another thing worth mentioning is that its TF supports up to 128GB. while the Chuwi plus supports up to 64GB. and the Cube iwork 8 does just 32GB. Also the HDMI out worked without any problems. Ive used an microSDXC class 1, 64GB EVO from samsung. It got very good results and has not have an bottleneck using it. Micro HDMI out and TF card speed test. The camera as always are the 2.0mp modules. Almost not worth mentioning. Even with the not so bad design this tablet has on the backside camera. The results speak for itsself. I would not do anything more then use skype with this. It has loads of artifacts. Screen. For the screen must be the best thing about this device. Its very color accurate and doesn't have the yellowish tint the Chuwi devices have. The minimun brightness is nice and low while the maximum brightness is really bright. The cube iwork 8 also has an nice screen but does not go as bright or dimmed as the Vido W8X. Also after an few weeks of traveling with me the screen got light bleeding spots. I think this is because of cheaper glue. I hopefully write another post later with more details and update's on old devices. 100% brightness and spots on the cube iwork8 Left to right: Vido W8X, Chuwi Vi8 Plus, Cube iwork8 Also worth noticing is the 10 touch points on the screen. The cube has half. making this tablet more accurate with regonizing touch. Or atleast it should be. I haven't noticed any diffrence myself jet. Battery life. This is one of the more dissapointing things about this tablet. Even with its not small 4200 mAh battery. It only lasted for 3H, 49M, 10S. The lowest of scores. Even under the iwork 8 with only 3300mAh. that scored 4H, 3M, 41S. The test is playing an youtube video of nyan cat over and over agian till it shutsdown. Even with this bad score almost 4 hour with screen on time is not bad. Depending what you are using the tablet for. I often read books on it for about 2 hours an day. then recharge overnight. Performance. As you could witness above the TF card slot performance is quite good. But not just that. The entire flash storage of this device is the fastest of all competition. You really do notice the diffrence in boot speed. Here are the benchmarks. For the CPU its the same as previous and other tablets. So is the geekbench score. It might get an bit warm to the touch in the back aswell with heavy useage. Almost all tablets got this problem with the quite powerfull cpu in an small device. Most people however won't try to play much games on this device. The WiFi speed is okay with about 55 mbits up and down. But the connection range is actually really good. It only loses 1/3 of the WiFi arch. Meaning it could go even further. Language and default installation. Notice pro/home and touch points. This tablet comes with a pre-installed version of Windows Home. not Pro. However. the diffrence between pro or home is worth nothing for tablets. It lacks functions that you would not need on this tablet. The version it bringes is also one of the latest updates. It does not offer you any "welcome to windows" settings like the Chuwi does. Meaning when you turn it on. it already is configured with an user and various options. Windows is properly activated. This also does mean it has the chinese search engine as default and some windows UI labels are still chinese, as seen on shutdown. The rest is english. Time is also set in chinese. These UI labels and time you can change in the settings. Useage / Conclusion. I would recommand to use this tablet in Windows "tablet" modus for the non power users. making it easier to use for everyday checking news or weather or reading books. Pro's: Screen. Flash Storage. Size. Con's: Battery. Price. Language. You can buy the tablet here
  17. My watercooling pump just broke down (god bless my rpm warning), so I need a replacement. As I'm on quite a budget I went looking for cheap Chinese alternatives (links below), but even though they have proper reviews, it still seems a bit sketchy to me. Does anyone have experience with these kinds of cheep pumps or does anyone have a better alternative? It needs to be extremely quiet, I don't want to hear anything, and it has to be able to give enough power for 2 GPU's, 1CPU and 2 large radiators. 18. I've recently looking for some gpu to upgrade at low cost on "alibaba.com" and realized that the price is almost the same, until I saw that a chinese company was making their owm GPU cards "Hongsuntek", I think the price is lower, but I'm aware of their quality and performance because there's no information or tests on their cards, so if they are what the company says they are, I think it would be good for us to know that, obviously isn't the most beautiful card but we can buy good stuff at a much lower price having same performance. Hope Linus Tech Tips can make some benchmarks to see if it is worth. 19. Hi! I was looking at ebay and found this 750ti (link below). The used 2 GB models goes around 80-100$ in my country. I dont really trust this product listing, but the seller looks okay to me. What is your opinion? https://www.ebay.com/itm/GTX750Ti-GDDR5-2GB-128Bit-PCI-Express-2-0-Video-Graphics-Card-HDMI-For-NVIDIA/332571476355?hash=item4d6ece0183:g:~qcAAOSwVvlal7sI
  20. Hello, I can't make up my mind between The Xiaomi Redmi 3s and the Xiaomi Mi 4C. The Mi 4C is lighter, thinner and smaller than the 3s (which matters to me) but has a smaller battery and 16GB of non-expandable storage which might not be a problem but could be one in the future. I'm not sure about the performace, that's why I can't choose between them, the 3s has a octa core at 1.4 GHz and the 4C has a Hexa core (2 fast cores at 1.8 GHz and 4 cores at 1.4 GHz) and the 4C also has a higher resolution which could potentially make the performance worse and probably drains more battery life. Also has anyone bought from Geekbuying? I saw both phones almost two times cheaper than in my country on their site.
  21. Are cheep Chinese Graphics cards any good? this deal on eBay seams good at first glance but are they a scam? with the prices of Graphics cards so high at the moment is it worth it to by unbranded? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HD7670-4GB-DDR5-650MHz-128Bit-Pci-e-Game-VGA-DVI-Independent-Video-Graphics-Card/183100348855?_trkparms=aid%3D444000%26algo%3DSOI.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170221122447%26meid%3D718973c0772f4232a1f6b17735c2ded3%26pid%3D100752%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D183208915771%26itm%3D183100348855&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982

  23. So about one and a half week i got myself a third party chinese xbox 360 controller from a online retailer, the controller works fine most part but Right Trigger (RT) seems bit awkward as it doesn't feel crunchy and might fail soon. Similar kind of problem with dpad too right/down arrow seem bit suffocated. This costed me 17.5$ and the original one costs around 32.5$ but i cheaped out because my mom is too strict to buy me the original one and seems like i am paying for it. I think my controller does have 1 year warranty so might get it replaced. Btw, the brand name of controller is Arkay, i never heard of it before buying this product. 24. So like the title says; it is said ASML was hacked by the chinese government. As ASML probably had no dangerous stuff to China, it was probably to get the intellectual property of ASML aka their chip manufacturing machines including EUV. ASML has a huge investment, we're speaking billions, in development of these machines and apparently China wants to undermine these costs. If this is true it's a big deal for ASML, if the Chinese start taking over this market(with stolen information), the EU's economy might break on a large scale. This is no small deal Link(in Dutch, use translate tool on Chrome or equivalent.): http://tweakers.net/...e-overheid.html If you guys need more info, ask away.
