Sometimes monitors got sales, like march sales, so don't get scammed Wait for december sales christmas sales to get cheaper ones. How do I change the components to cheaper ones but still the same performance?

Hi, this being my first time asking a forum for help on a build this is bit different... I would like to build a computer that is around 550$ give or take, I already have all the external hardware for it, 2 monitors (1920*1080) and a m&kb. I have found some of the parts I want in the build but I'm clueless what I would need in the "in between" of the CPU and GPU, The question I'm asking is what are the parts and other components that I would need to make this a complete 60+ fps 1080p gaming machine... The parts I've gathered from watching Linus' videos and several others are as follows; CPU~~~i5 4570---Owned CPU Cooler~~~Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED CPU Cooler with PWM Fan, Four Direct Contact Heat Pipes, Unique Blade Design and Red LEDs GPU~~~MSI GAMING Radeon RX 480 GDDR5 4GB CrossFire VR Ready FinFET DirectX 12 Graphics Card (RX 480 GAMING X 4G) RAM~~~ STORAGE~~~ SSD or HDD? CASE~~~DIYPC Ranger-R4-R Black/Red USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case with 3 x Red Fans (1 x 140mm LED Fan x side, 1 x120mm LED Fan x front, 1 x 120mm fan x rear) Shouldn't need anymore fans... right? MOTHER BOARD~~~ PSU~~~ Thanks in advance to all you for the help!!! PS: Trying to keep the Red and Black theme

I've been wanting to see something like this for the longest time. Does anyone know of any open source hardware projects involving the development of GPUs and CPUs today? I want to see that happen.

A manager at my uncles business thought paying Dell over $1,000 for a File Server with 1TB of shared storage was a good deal. I proved him wrong after the fact by proposing the building of a latest gen 4 core 8 thread Xeon, 32GB of DDR4 ECC UDIMM memory, and 12TB of redundant storage. Total cost was around $1,400. Here's the challenge. Go to a typical brand server website that sells file servers (Dell, HP, etc) and post here how much cheaper you could build it yourself or how much better you could build it for the same asking price of theirs. There are rules that must be followed: 1. All equipment must be purchased new. No used equipment 2. The OS and any other software must be factored into the cost. 3. The hardware must be of a server variety (CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Hard drives, Optical) exceptions are: PSU, SSD if desired, CPU cooler, Chassis 4. Nothing proprietary such as a Sinology NAS or hardware that will only fit inside a specific case. I understand the asking price of these companies come with insurances but I think for home users or small companies they're bull. If you can build and setup a file server yourself then you can troubleshoot why something stopped working. Here's my contribution: Dell wants $679 for a PowerEdge T330 Tower Server Specifications: Intel Celeron G3900 4GB 2400MHz DDR4 UDIMM ECC Memory 500GB SATAIII 3.5" 7200RPM hard drive 350W Non-redundant PSU (cost includes some services warranties with no option to opt out) I could build a better server for: $587.75 Case: RAIJINTEK ARCADIA WHITE Storage: WD Gold 2TB 7200RPM (4x the storage) PSU: CORSAIR CX-M Series CX550M 550W 80 PLUS BRONZE (200W more power for drives or accesories) Motherboard: ASRock C236 WS RAM: 1x 8GB stick DDR4 2400MHz Unbuffered ECC memory (2x the RAM) CPU: Intel Celeron G3900 (To swamp it with a Intel Xeon E3-1220 V5 4C/4T would bring total cost to $749.93) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (better cooler than stock) OS: FreeNAS (Costs $0) Looking at more expensive servers VS building your own the cost gap between pre-build vs build it yourself gets bigger and bigger. The $1400 server I previously exampled Dell would have charged them $3,350 for a similar server. So go. Build a server and post back how much it cost vs what it would have cost for Dell, HP, etc to build something similar or what you could build yourself for their asking price.

Hey, I'm picking parts for my new PC and thought about using a GTX1070, the build (linked below) however turns out to cost €1300 which is way to much (i'm aiming for at most €1000). My main questions are: - If i downgrade the GPU, should i go to a GTX1060 or are there better alteratives (i found a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6G for €280). This shaves off €240 already - Can i further downgrade the CPU to save on some more money: for example the ryzen 3 2200G or will this bottleneck the PC. - can i save on other parts? -should i go for a single 8GB ramstick to save €70 Summary of suggestions: - get RTX2060 to save €130 The other alternative is buying the following laptop for €999 https://www.notebookcheck.net/MSI-GV62-8RE-i5-8300H-GTX-1060-FHD-Laptop-Review.309114.0.html (GTX1060(3GB) and 8th gen i5 processor, 8GB ram, ) Main game i'm playing is WorldOfTanks. Hi, I'm planning to build a new gaming pc for myself, and I'm struggling to decide whether I should choose the 7400 or 7600. Here's my new PC Build CPU: Intel Core i5-7400/7600 GPU: ASUS GAMING STRIX OC GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 Ram: Corsair Vengance 8GB (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Motherboard: Asus H110M-D PSU: Corsair 500W 80 Plus HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SSD: Corsair Force MP500 240GB M.2 Case: Corsair Carbide Series 270R Mid-Tower Case (Windowed) Fans: 4x Corsair 140mm Red LED fans I have seen a lot of comparison videos on Youtube between the two cpus. The gaming difference is 7-10% difference in total 10 games. The price of the 7400 is around $50 cheaper than the 7600, in Vietnam. I don't know if it's worth the $50. Please help me out! Thank you!

Need Assistance Please! I am currently watching these two cards! The Asus GeForce GTX 960 STRIX 2GB and Asus GeForce GTX 960 STRIX 4GB. Which one is worth it? A typical person will choose the Asus GeForce GTX 960 STRIX 4GB because it has more VRAM right? But have seen the specifications they two have the same Wattage and the Asus GeForce GTX 960 STRIX 4GB has 1.63% (1.25 GHz) increase in Core Clock. Asus GeForce GTX 960 STRIX 4GB is $399 NZD and Asus GeForce GTX 960 STRIX 2GB is $319.95 NZD! Worth while or not?

So I wanted to buy the EVGA Supernova 1000W P2 Platinum PSU ( http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_1619&products_id=27014 ), but I noticed that the place I'm buying it from has the 1200 watt version of the same model for $30 less. ( http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_1619&products_id=30080 ). Is there ANY reason not to grab the 1200W? Something like not putting it under enough load therefore not running it as efficiently as it should be? idk Thanks in advance.

Hello, some time ago I posted my gaming build on this site. Most comments said my motherboard and Memory were probably too expensive. This was my original build I would like to know a cheaper compatible motherboard(preferably with wifi included) and RAM with similar performance.

If you've wanted the greatness of a curved screen but didn't want to step into the flagship arena to do it, have no fear. LG has got your back on this one, since they are bringing curved goodness to your mid-range devices. Not as extreme a curve, but a curve nonetheless. Seeing as how we have a spectacular lack of G4 news, this is the best we're gonna get from LG for now. http://gizmodo.com/lgs-bringing-curved-screens-to-its-cheaper-phones-beca-1688730207

Why the hell is Windows 8.1 PRO cheaper than the regular windows 8.1?? Really like I'm buying one of them cuz I built a new rig and the not so boughtful version is causing me driver issues and I'm not out waiting for 10 because it's gonna take a while for drivers and compatible stuff to come out(I'd imagine). So really, watz gonna make me wanna buy one or another? I don't see the point on buying regular cause pro actually seems to have more stuff to it. Hey LTT, I found someone on r/hardwareswap that was selling a GTX 770 Lightning and I got him down to about $260. I am pretty interested, but with current sales and coupons, I can get an EVGA GTX 770 ACX SC for right around the $290 after mail in rebates. The EVGA also comes with Watchdogs, which I was pretty interested in but it isn't really a deal breaker. Anyone got some advice on which card is a better deal? Does the Lightning really have any significant FPS boost over the EVGA? Just for reference, he claims he can easily get the card to +200mhz on the core, so it would hang right around 1400mhz boost.

A lot of people are saying that the Kingpin isn't worth the price, so i'm starting to rethink about getting it, should i just opt for a cheaper model and add on a liquid cooler?

I'm buying a GPU, and I have narrowed it down to a couple that I want. Newegg has a refurbished EVGA GTX 780 FTW card that I can pick up for about $410 bucks. This is a certified EVGA refurb, so it comes with their 1 year warranty. None of the cables or accessories are included. This also has the dual-bios chip and is "pre-OC'd", so it is a pretty nice card. Only thing I am worried about is that it is a refurb, so that means it was RMA'd for some reason and they just repaired it. I know its certified to meet spec, but still. I also found someone on r/hardwareswap selling an ASUS 780 DC2OC for $400. This comes with all the original accessories like SLI, molex adapters, driver discs, manuals, boxes, etc. They say they got the card to +180 GPU, and +290 mem OC, with temps sitting right around 70c. So, tell me, which one is the better buy? Which card should I go with?

Hey LTT, I am looking at getting an EVGA GTX 780 FTW edition, and I saw on Newegg that I can get a refurbished version for $400, or a new version for $500. Would getting a new card be worth the extra $100 bucks? Or should I save the $100, go with the refurb and put the extra money toward another PC part like a CPU cooler or some HDDs?
