So I have this 100w powerbank that I bought three months ago and when I try to charge my Lenovo legion go (basically steam deck) nothing happens, and when I try to charge the powerbank nothing happens but if i charge my phone (with same port on powerbank) it charges, I use usbc to usbc when charging lenovo legion go and charging powerbank and usbc to lightning when charging phone so I though the cable was the problem, so I bought a new cable and it still doesn't work, when I use the cable for other things it works. It stopped working after I put the powerbank in the car for a few hours plugged in to the car and when I came back the issue I described started. Any idea to what it can be?

I have a Clevo x170sm-g where when it first boots the battery shows its not plugged in but the percentage doesn't go down, after awhile 20-40m every few seconds it will say it's plugged in and then it will say it's not after it's been on awhile it will stably say it's plugged in but any game will have low fps and big lag spikes iv already tried bringing it to best buy and they said it was "faulty ram" I tried each stick individually with no change, I also tried known good charging cables/bricks, and battery, iv tried to reinstall windows and install all drivers Specs: i9-10900K 64GB 2400mhz RTX2080super -
I received a Lenovo ideapad touch and it came almost fully charged and completely functional i even installed pop is and then instead installed windows. It did not come with a charger so I bought a Lenovo charger for my specific laptop. By the time I got the charger in the mail it had died originally it blinked to tell me it was dead now it’s too dead to even do that. When I plug in the charger it doesn’t work I tried replacing the charging port and still nothing any ideas?

hi, i lm daily driving the Asus vivobook pro 14 the crhager is a 120w charger with a bucket plug in the end and a giantish power brick i want to make / buy a 120w type c to bucket plug for it so I can use something like anker Gen chargers for it and all the other devices I own, any ideas on best way to do it or from where to buy?

Hey there, hope you're having a good day! I definitely had not, but let me give you the situation first: I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 that has been opened up before (Battery replacement). Therefore it was not watertight anymore and I got it liquid damaged. I dried it completely, discovered that some parts of the motherboard were corroded and wrote that off. On a local site for used items I bought a Note 9 that had its front and back glass completely shattered but worked fine all other ways. I took the motherboard and battery of that and put it into my phone, which worked perfectly for an evening, charged perfectly normal for one night and now does not anymore. (Using Ampere) It shows me that its discharging about (-) 200-220 mA, but when plugged in only gains 100-160 mA but stays very consistantly at 150mA for the most. When opening Ampere for the first time, it showed ~600mA, but quickly dropped to the aforementioned values. I use an Anker 25W Dual Port Charger (12,5W per device). I immediately thought of two things: further corrosion on the old parts (i only replaced the motherboard and the battery) or a mistake on my part putting it together. While both would be possible, it did work perfectly for a night so..?? Anyway, I replaced the charging port with the one from the "broken" phone i had bought as well as the battery with a brand new one. Same thing, ~150mA when charging. What I also noticed was that the wireless charging didn't work since the first repair. I thought the contact pads (no connector, its just Pads pressed onto the MoBo) were corroded from the water too, but I changed the coil and therefore the contact pads to the one from the "broken" phone which also looked very clean and the receiving pins on the mobo were changed with the MoBo anyway. When placing my phone on the wireless charger, it detects it but flashes, meaning it cannot charge. (Also, while writing this, Ampere showed "cold" (plugged in, but not charging) for a few seconds, but it went back to charging ~450mA and then quickly down to 150-220mA again). Now, what could be causing this? With some googling, it seems like most Samsung phones like do just stop cahrging, but I have not found a "charging, but not gaining battery percentage"-problem like mine yet. What could be causing this issue? What more could I try to fix it? Thank you for your help and time! -Jonathan from Germany -
My Thinkpad p1 gen 2’s keyboard has been acting up with certain keys not working. I attempted to fix this by removing the motherboard and trying to troubleshoot the keyboard. After doing so and reassembling the whole motherboard and plugging in all ribbon cables I tried to plug it in and turn it on. There is a battery charge indicator light which did not show any light and the laptop does not turn on. I’ve read that you might have to press the bottom reset button down for 30 seconds for it to charge, but the hasn’t done anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Recently, I've noticed a slight decrease in charging current for my 8s LiFePO4 battery after around 7 charge cycles. The charger used to deliver 1.48A, but now it charges at around 1.45A. I'm wondering if this is a cause for concern. Could this be an issue with the charger or potentially a problem with the battery? Additional info- my charger only charges my battery upto 90% soc and then cuts off the charge hence while it might be good for the battery health, my battery is prone to disbalancing issues since some bms tend to balance the cells only when the battery is fully charged, so do let me know if that is related to this issue. I use it on my ebike so it(the battery) goes through consistent shocks and tremors and rough use. Any insights or suggestions on diagnosing the situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!"

I know for a fact that macbooks around/before 2016 might have had a usb short circuit protection because I've seen these images online- and heard stories where people have connected Faulty/shorted USB-A cables to their macbooks which resulted in one of 3 things- 1.) USB port getting temporarily disabled until the cable is removed 2.) Macbook temporarily shutting down until battery cable is removed and re-attached 3.) Macbook logic board burning I would like to know if the above protection features still hold true for usb c macbooks. I specifically have a macbook pro 13 inch 2020. I would like to know what could happen if someone accidentally attaches a shorted usb c charging cable where the pins of the USB c interface are shorted with each other.....(can actually happen because they're only 0.5mm apart) into the modern (post 2017) macbooks. -Will the charging port disable until cable is removed? -Will the macbook disable until battery is removed and reconnected? -Will the logic board say bye to its owner? I would also like to know what additional protection macbooks have against similar possibilities, for eg. Short circuit is basically over current flow, what protection do macbooks have against, say.....over voltage, what if someone applies a voltage higher than normal at the USB c charging port. I'm asking all this stuff because not a lot of information is available about this in the public domain...so only people who tinker with Macs on a daily basis would be able to answer my questions. So... A user at my office dropped his laptop square on the USB-C charger whilst plugged in. So naturally, the laptop no longer charges. Well kinda, if i leave it plugged in for like a week it gets to around 30%. I have inspected and replaced the charger and cable itself. No change. I stripped the laptop and physically inspected the port, connectors and double checked all connectors leading to and from the battery. No visible damage. I then sent the laptop to a repair center. They quoted R13 000.00 for a motherboard replacement. This is R5 000.00 short of the laptop's value so the company decided to rather buy a replacement and allowed me to take it for myself. It's a Lenovo ThinkPad E590 (i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB M.2 and not too bad at all if I can hack-fix it myself. So if you are skilled enough to help me on this, I would REALY appreciate the assist. It has been a while since I had the opportunity to have a decent-ish system at home. So the way I see it, there are two options. One is to try and fix the charging fault itself and Two is to bypass the problem completely. Fixing the charging gives me 3 challenges. The first is to isolate where the issue is. Now I watched some videos on YouTube and it looks like the "handshake" might be at fault due to the charging happening but never ramping up to full throttle. Is that a physical chip that I can replace, repair or bypass? And how do I know if that is the location of the fault? Then, how do I fix it. Some next level fine soldering I presume but i'm up for the task. Or maybe a way to charge the battery by bypassing the port and board entirely whilst having the laptop running off it? Even if it would then need to be a fixed cable, at least I keep the ability to charge it and run it off the battery. Like a PC on a UPS. Bypassing the problem completely also sounds like a possibility even if I would lose the portability of a laptop. I'm talking about powering the laptop board directly without going through the battery. In this case I would probably end up building it into my desk as a silent Small Form Factor hidden PC and make the screen like a pop-out monitor. So if this is the only way, can I power the board directly? And how do I go about it? Please comment if you know something about this stuff so I don't ruin my chances with this laptop. -
So the world can't seem to make it's mind up from the bit Googling I did. Some say it's bad for the longevity of the battery and some say it's fine. I'd like to settle this once and for all!

So, I got a Dell XPS 9500 after seeing the review of it and it had the trackpad wobble issue so I contacted support and they sent someone to replace the palm rest/trackpad assembly. The thing is ever since they "fixed" it the charging indicator light has stopped working. Even after having to send it to their depot for other issues, the light still does not work. I decided to just check and see the guys at Dell just forgot to plug the light back in so I took the back panel off my laptop to get a closer look at the indicator light and I found that it straight up isn't there. I tried looking up the issue and I found a few people on Dell's forum and on Reddit who seemed to have the same issue, but no one has been able to find a fix or get a straight answer from Dell about it. So I am just wondering, does anyone know anything about this? Has this also happened to you? Anything can help.

Hello everyone. I wanted to hear your experiences and opinions on this. Somehow I seem to have really bad experiences with phones with USB-C ports. My first phone with one was a Samsung S9. Port had first signs of breaking after about 2.2years. It started showing the "water in port"-warning and stopped to fastcharge. Another 1-2 months later I was not able to charge it at all. So I bought a Samsung A50. That one had the same issues of not being able to fastcharge after only 8 months, so I bought a Xiaomi Note 9 only 3 days before the A50 was not able to charge anymore and I sent it to a repairshop (sadly they wouldn't repair it under warranty, because it had a 1mm crack at the top of the screen). Now the Xiaomi shows the first signs of not charging all the time (screen lights up every 10 seconds indicating a newly started charging process) after I only bought it in August 2020, so it has about 180 plugin cycles. The port is really wobbly already (4-5° up and down movement). There is no dust in there, since the rubber case has a plug. Somehow I don't know what I do wrong. Since I had such bad experiences with the two Samsungs phones I swore I would eliminate my wrongdoing and only charge the Xiaomi while it lay still on my nightstand, but it still is starting to bother me. All my previouse phone with Mircro USB ports never had such issues, even if I saved them from a fall by pulling at the cable, playing on the phone while it charged, bending the cables etc. The ports held 3-5 years and where thight to plug in the first and last day of using them. Now the new and sooo good USB-C fells like a worn out buthole of a 90 year old grandma. I am really just pissed about it, because I have better things to do than switching between phones because my new 8 month old needs to go into the repairshop again. -
Hello everyone, Lately have been noticing my laptop battery life to drop instantly after charging, I noticed it charges from 0% - 17% normally and then charges to 100% instantly, after charging to a 100% I only get a backup for like 20 minutes. Checked and verified this for multiple cycles. Any idea what this could be? I've updated Windows 11 and all the drivers. -
Hi, I’m currently waiting on my new 16” MacBook Pro with the M1 Max chip arriving. I’m slightly concerned that the supplied 140W charger will degrade the battery faster and with intense workflows likely draining the battery within a few hours I would need to charge the MacBook more often. Does anyone have any input on if it’s worth going and buying either an Apple (or alternative brand) lower wattage power adapter to charge the laptop? Usually I’d just run with what’s in the box but I plan on keeping this laptop for as long as physically possible so I’d like to keep the battery in good health for as long as possible. I was thinking maybe the 96W Apple power adapter or maybe even the 67W version (if that would charge the 16” model). Thoughts? thanks in advance -
I had this motherboard for about a year now and never had this problem. But every time I plug in a device like my oculus quest, switch, or phone it will charge it very slowly. For an example right now if I plug in my phone which is at 4% battery life it says it will take around 32 hours for it to get to full. Data transfer speeds seem fine, and other devices like my microphone appears to be working the same. Things I have tried: tried using 3.0 ports and 2.0 3 different cords, which all work fine w/ a wall out let. back IO and front IO. I have an acer aspire a315-31. The charging port was loose and the laptop was not charging. I replaced the port, but now, when I plug the charger a "tik" sound can be heard and the laptop don't charge. The charging light is flashing, but not in the "discharged battery" way. It's flashing at the same time as with that tiking sound. (for me it sounds like a short circuit). What can I do?

Hi everyone. I have an Hp 15s (ryzen 7 4700u) from less than a year. After a month or so that i had this laptop i noticed it started to overheat whenever it is charging, even if it is doing nothing and im not using it. Here is a screen of the CPU temps of when i plug in the charger . Is this normal? If not has anyone got a suggestion on what to do to prevent this? thanks! I recently got a Nokia Lumia 2520 from a second-hand market (i know it's pretty old but it's what I needed, eheh) but now I got a big issue: The battery seems to not charge. I tried with the tab turned on and off too but nothing seems to work, it works only with the power brick inserted and Windows telss me constantly "plugged in but not charging" while stuck at 0%. The battery seems to OK (not faulty) since it doesn't say "battery missing" or "non detected" but still there's no way to charge it. I tried the trick of resetting battery drivers in Windows but it didn't work, I dunno if I did something wrong. Someone has a solution, please?

Hi everyone! I need help on this strange situation with my laptop (hp 15s). When the charger is plugged in, the temperature goes up to 50/60 degrees celsius even when doing small tasks, (even tried removing battery but still does the same). Today i tried to monitor the cpu/gpu usage and it seems that when plugged in, the gpu usage goes down by 10% but when i unplug the laptop it goes back up. Does anyone have a suggestion? I forgot my charger at home, so i went looking for alternative ways to charge my laptop. Lets get to the problem.. I got a bright idea: My phone can charge from USB-C cant laptops aswell? i quickly googled: HP Laptops can chargw from USB-C, i tried and it worked. But only when 100% powered off, After POST (After leaving the bios) it would stop charging. This problem is only with USB-C, But i havent tried with the standard AC as i forgot it at home. Hello everyone, I have a Lenovo Yoga C940 15.6" laptop that does not charge correctly. When I try to plug it in, it says "plugged in, not charging". It is not on conservation mode or anything, it just doesn't charge up at all. It will be maintaining that charge only. The only way to completely charge it is to shut the computer down and then it charges to full. Lenovo has replaced the battery, but it still doesn't charge correctly. I even got a message from the BIOS when I turned on the computer saying "The connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended model which was shipped with the system. To boot with the AC adapter, please connect the AC adapter which was shipped with the system. Press Esc to continue." I am using the original charger, and Lenovo even gave me another charger to try out, which didn't solve the problem. I have tried other outlets in my home and outside, but it doesn't solve the problem, which is why I believe the problem to be within the computer itself. If anyone would be so kind enough to fix this, I would be very grateful. Thank you, Anish S

Hello, I recently got a new laptop for my university (Lenovo Flex 5 14ARE05, 4500U / 8Gb RAM / 256 NVME SSD) and it came with a USB-C charger although it can use two different types of chargers but that's besides the point. My problem is that while I was using my laptop today and changing the settings of my laptop to optimize battery life through the tools Lenovo provides for their laptops I noticed a weird buzzing sound coming from the USB-C charging port (note: I cannot use the barrel jack charging port because I don't have such charger available) and the buzzing sound is more intense when I have conservation mode on which limits the laptop battery to 60% of it's maximum capacity to extend the life of the battery. Even with the conservation mode off my laptop still has that buzzing sound although it's not as intense as with the conservation mode on. Now what concerns me is that it might be coil whine which is not the end of the world but it might be the capacitors as of a reddit post I have found, should I be worried ? And even if the problem is not the capacitors themselves should I return the laptop because my warranty still covers me (for context I bought the laptop 9 days ago). -
