My y50-70s original charger broke years ago. The original charger was 90-135w(manual said both but manual is for many models, website said 135w), 20v CC out, 100-240v 50-60hz CA in. I have been using a Blackwebs charger that is 90w, 19v 4.74a out, 100-240v 2.5a 50/60hz in for years. The blackwebs charger does not have a ground like the original charger did. Ive heard using 2 prong cord on 3 prong device is very bad and replacing it might fix my flickering issue and protect laptop/myself. My y50-70 suffers from the screen flickering grounding issue, could this be partially caused by this charger? If so what do I need for a new charger, and does it have to be official? Thanks!

Hi all, I'm working on an old HP laptop and noticed the trackpad apparead to be quite glitchy, sometimes working and other times being very laggy and even pressing things I hadn't pressed. I realised that this unusual behaviour was when the laptop was plugged in charging and it worked fine when on battery. After some research I found that the earth might be the issue... So I took a broken usb cable, chopped one end off and connected the ground wire to an old metal computer case I had (no components in it, just the case!) and then plugged that into a USB port on the laptop. The trackpad then worked a lot better. It was still a little more buggy than when on battery but was noticeably better and more usable. So now Im not sure if it's the charger or the laptop that is the problem? It's a 3rd party charger from Amazon, I don't have any original or other chargers near me to test. I bought this laptop as part of a bundle with no chargers so have no idea if this issue was there with other chargers or not... I don't really want to buy another one if the issue isn't with the charger. I did put my multi meter on resistance mode and put it between the 'top' pin on the plug (uk plug) and the outside of the barrel jack and it just read 0.L so I presumed the issue was with the cable, but then having read things in other forums I'm confused of if that's a reliable way of being sure as some things mention that they don't have to have this ground? TIA

I finally have a phone that can accept Qi charging; while I'm aware it's inefficient, it would be nice to be able to just set it on my desk and have it fill up without the wear on my charging port. However, the obvious options are either just extra desk clutter or lamps that won't fit on my desk in a spot where it will be comfortable to reach. I've found at least one option from Dell that is a USB hub and Qi charger, but it seems to be a specifically Dell focused product and seemingly has driver weirdness with Macs. Any other suggestions?

Hi guys, I Need urgent assistance here! Till yesterday my Asus ROG FLow X13 GV301_RE was working fine, but something happened and it stopped taking charge: I connect charger and laptop turns on, but battery level does not go above 8%. If I disconnect the charger while the laptop is in (8% battery) it shuts down. I am a student and my internship starts Monday. Anyone, please assist asap. I contacted Asus they are asking $60 for shipping the device to them and it might take 3 weeks to a month to return the device. I cannot wait that long. Thanks.

Basically anytime I open a game on my laptop, or any software like an editing software it'll lag my laptop whilst it's charging. This isn't an issue (as much) when I'm not plugged in but it still stutters and my cpu speed goes down immensely to below even 1 ghz. This is an issue whilst plugged in, and I'm not sure on how to fix it. I don't have any updates or anything of the sort so I'm unsure on what to do. My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H w Radeon Graphics (at least that's what it says) so if there is anything I can do to fix this issue, let me know. (also checked with hp support app and it detects nothing wrong with the laptop, I'm also on high performance mode as well)

<SOLVED> Hi, ISSUE: I have a issue when I try to charger my new Aero 16 2022 via the 100w usb-c thunderbolt-4 port. MY ATTEMPTS TO CHARGE: First, I tried with my 87W PD power bank on the 100w thunderbolt 4 port and nothing happened. After, I tried with a 100W PD wall charger and 20W phone charger and I also tied other usb-c port on my laptop, but still nothing. Windows doesn't show any signs of charging nor the charger led near the DC jack. At last, I tried to charge when turn off but still nothing. I tried all chargers on another 100W PD laptop, tablet and phone and they all worked. MY ATTEMPS TO FIX: I contacted gigabyte support using "eSupport" 3 days ago (11/5/2023), but I'm still waiting any answer. I tried to "google it" but it was unsuccesfull. I wrote this Topic. MODIFICATION: I opened my laptop only once to install a nvme SSD. WARRANTY: I have many options: 1- I have 20 days left to refund via Neweggs.ca (but I really need the laptop now for work) 2-I have "https://www.newegg.ca/promotions/warranty/21-1290/index.html" Accident warranty for 3 years. 3-Standart Gigabyte warranty (but I broke 2 stickers on screws for the nvme installation) SPECS: Product Name:AERO 16 XE5 BIOS Ver:FB09, 2022-07-18 Model: I7-12700h / 3070 TI / 16Gb ddr5 4800mhz Operating System:Windows 11 Neweeg link: https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16834233529?Item=N82E16834233529 Gigabyte product page: https://www.gigabyte.com/ca/Laptop/AERO-16--Intel-12th-Gen#kf MISC: I'm sure that text is full of errors (like unnecessary "the"), English isn't my primary language. Hi, this isn't the ordinary my battery won't charge, please help me-forum post. My laptop's battery only charges via USB-C with DP and no other charging cables. My Razer Blade Stealth 13" 2019 base model (RZ09-0281x), is acting very strange. Three weeks ago my original 65W charger gave up, luckily for me, I have a monitor at home with a USB-C-PD and DisplayPort signal so I could still charge it. Then I ordered a new Anker 65W Nano USB-C charger and thought that the new charger would solve my issues. However, my laptop still won't charge with the new charger (I've tested that the Anker works fine on other laptops and devices). I've updated every driver, removed the battery and controller from the device manager, installed all the latest Win 11-updates, and run the troubleshooting tool, I've tried to run Linux and see if my laptop detects the charger via the terminal and saw that it doesn't get detected (only the monitor charger). I then reinstalled a fresh Windows. I also physically unplugged the battery and tried to start the computer without it (it didn't work) and then plugged the battery back in but the problem remains. The laptop was also charging via a similar monitor with USB-C PD but not with other laptop chargers. Help me!! Every weird tip is useful since I really can't figure out another possible solution, I feel like I've tried everything.

Got a dell xps 15 9550 from eBay. Everything works, except the battery connector is broken, so the battery is not showing up. The only thing that seems to be broken on the connector is the plastic housing, but it is not working. Any suggestions on how I can test the connector, or where I can get something that shows me the pinout? If the connector is in fact bad, where could I buy one to replace it? Looks like a fairly easy surface mount replacement.

Received a YouTube ad for the following device: The advertisement mentions that a phone charger can combate planned obsolescence by using AI to not only providing modern fast charging but also improve performance by 3 times. The ad sent me to an actual Russian site in English with the following title in the browser: Заряжай все устройства одновременно и сверхбыстро с 0% до 100% за 15 минут For safety concerns I omitted the URL.

When i put my laptop down, the screen turned black and i wasn't able to turn it back on. The light indicator for the power switches on when i press the button, but turns off when I let go. Hi. So when I plugged my charger in the laptop, the laptop made that small "starting" noise. It happens everytime I start it. I'm not sure if that's the fan or the hard drive but that never happens when I plug in the charger. The laptop was off when I did that, and the sound was only for like 0.5 seconds. The laptop's charging LED light near the charge port is on. Should I be worried? Should I turn it on? I'm not sure about turning it on until I know why that sound happened.

Laptop doubling as all-in-one "console"?
ejfr4nc1sc0 posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hello all, I've been scouring the Internet endlessly for a solution to my (somewhat peculiar) setup. I currently have a Lenovo Yoga 710-15IKB that sports an i5-7200U with only a micro-HDMI port for output. I currently use this laptop for work/school, but when not working I leave it plugged in to the wall and the TV as a portable 'console' of some sort, because it runs emulation and game streaming via Moonlight for more intensive games. However, I have a 4K TV, and the HDMI port on my laptop only supports 4K at 30Hz. Here's where my problem comes in. I'm worried that leaving my laptop charging for so long will affect my battery's lifespan, even when I have it set to stop charging at 80%, rather than fully charging every time. Also, I'd prefer native 4K output to use my TV at its fullest potential. My questions are: will my laptop decrease in battery lifespan faster when leaving it plugged in when not working/studying? How can I bring 4K to my laptop (the CPU supports 4K60 through DisplayPort)? If the previous is not possible, should I build/buy an SFF HTPC for my use-case (less emulation power is okay, but HEVC support is preferred), or would it be smarter to just deal with 1080p and upgrade the laptop when necessary? -
charger Volta Style Cable Compatibility with Razer Naga Pro
cichington posted a topic in Peripherals
Hey all, I recently bit the bullet and went full wireless for my mouse and keyboard (Highly Recommend). I picked up a Razer Naga Pro, and a Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro during Cyber Monday. Unfortunately, the Naga Pro use Micro USB, and the Blackwidow uses USB C for charging. To keep the clean aesthetic, I wanted to only have one cable visible to charge both of them if needed. I was wanting to go with Volta Style Cable and just keep the small magnetic plugs in the peripherals however the Naga Pro has very little clearance where the cable plugs into the mouse. Has anyone used one of these and if so does it fit? Another option would be to get a Micro USB to USB C adapter, but that would not be ideal as those adapters tend to be a little chunky for my liking. Any advice or input on the matter would be great! Here's a picture of the charging port on the Naga Pro for reference: -
Hello, I would like to make a complaint, not sure if this is the best section for it tho... Recently this video came out: In it, the sponsor is Volta. I am one of the backers from IndieGoGo on the GIGA charger. The reason I got one was that they seem legit and my own chargers were failing me back in September. Volta's IndieGoGo campaign has been delayed a couple of times, we were supposed to get the chargers in November 2021. However, they have been unwilling to provide a specific timeframe since its inception (I and others wrote to them a couple of times without them getting a reply back to us, this can be checked on the campaign discussion page). They seem more interested in starting new products like the wireless charger instead of finishing the outstanding promised ones! Why are you promoting them if they have yet to deliver & are behind? For those who were thinking of getting one, please wait till they are out to backers or get one from somewhere else, rather than risk waiting for one for a long time. If you are in dire need like I was, just get a Baseus charger from aliexpress, they may only be 100-120w but at least they exist and can be shipped to you when you need them.

Everyday I use both Samsung’s Wireless Trio charger together with its 25W Super Fast charger (with an S21), and I also use Apple’s 20W charger to charge my 11” M1 iPad Pro. Sadly, the iPad just refuses to work with Samsung’s charger. It shows its charging and instantly disconnects, only to instantly reconnect, and the cycle continues endlessly. Fun fact, the iPad works just well with Samsung’s 15W adaptive charger. But sadly, that charger powers my Wireless Trio so slowly that its not even worth it. So, what charger would you recommend me to power both of my devices? I know GaN is coming strong this year but I simply don’t trust ugreen and Amazon’s 100W charger looks a bit too big. if it is able to power both devices at once it would be a BIG win.

I have a Legion 5i and it has a 170W power brick. I was playing Shadow of war on performance mode and after closing the game i was watching youtube and forgot to turn off performance mode. After watching YT for 3min my power brick popped and smoke was comming from it and itstopped working but the laptop was still working fine. An after connecting another power brick at the service center the power LED turned on but i forgot to try turning on the laptop. So what can be the issue? The Outlet, Power Brick, Or the Laptop? I'm recieving the replacement from Lenovo today.

i have been using this ASUS ROG gaming lap (1050Ti, 8gb ram ) for like 3-4 years now. It worked fine untill last november. The problem im having right now is, my lap is fully charged and is plugged in, i launch a game (valorant in this case), and suddenly the charging stops and starts again, like the charging stops for 10 secs and charges for 3secs and again stops charging for 10 secs, and the battery is also reducing very quick since the game is ON. eventually after 30 mins, the lap runs out of battery and shuts down. I have changed the battery, charger, cleaned the fan, updated drivers and everything i can possible do. I even removed the back frame of the lap so the lap can get more air flow or the heat might reduce. (atleast that's what i thought). Anyways nothing has fixed the issue. Also from last november, when i launch the game, the issue started only after 30 mins, like there will no be no issue in charging for the first 30 mins and then after 30 mins the discharging starts and battery runs out and shuts down. But now the issue starts as soon as i launch the game. Idek what to do anymore. Other info - When I am not playing game, everything is working fine. The problem starts when i launch "any" game, and every game i play is in low-graphic settings and i changed all possible nvidia settings as well. One of my frnd has the same laptop and we bought it at the same and he doesn't have this issue and plays the same games as i do. literally tried everything bruh, I need help. I checked the task manager when the game in ON and battery was reducing, it showed "High Power Usage" for the game that was running. I also took a batter report by running powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html" in cmd , The link for the screenshot of the batter report - Battery Report

Hello, Can I use the first party 90W charger from dell to charge the Dell XPS 15 9500 with i7-10750H and GTX 1650 Ti graphics? My work load involves coding with VS Code, MATLAB, Virtual Machine usage and regular stuff like browsing, documenting, video streaming etc. Would be very helpful if someone could answer the question as I need to buy the charger ASAP

Not sure if I can ask questions here, but I will anyway. (Hope that's ok!) I just bought the Razer Blade 15" advanced edition 2021, and it says that it is compatible with battery banks that can charge at roughly 20V USB-C chargers with PD 3.0. I found one, (Linked here) but after asking a question on the amazon page, I was told that it was not compatible. I know there are some real smart people on here, and am just hoping I can get some help to know if this will work. Alternatively, if anyone can recommend a better battery pack for USB C that would work in this situation, then that would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

So, I am looking for a couple Charging Stations, one for me and one for my wife.1 Obviously finding one to do all my devices is unlikely, but I would like to find one that at the very least does Phone, Watch, AirPods Pro. I have found plenty on Amazon that do those 3 but I am pretty particular with Chargers and only like to buy from trusted brands, usually Anker. I just joined the Apple Device Community a year ago after refusing to touch anything Apple (I was a PC Master Race and a Fan Boy, I have since grown out of that) so I am still new to the Apple accessories market and the best brands that make them. Just looking for suggestions on either good brands to look into or specific suggestions on Charging stations. I don’t mind if the station is wireless charging or wired for devices or mix and match. My wife does use a Pop socket on top of her case so unless there is a wireless charger that is compatible with a case and a pop socket near the top of the phone won’t get in the way hers would need at least the option to charge wired but its not a MUST HAVE just more convenient. We do have 4 kids so the thought of having a fixed charger that could be snapped off if a kid yanks it off in the wrong direction is pretty scary but its not a deal breaker. My Station and the Wife’s do not need to be the same product or brand and color does not matter that much.I also wouldn’t mind have a couple of Stations for myself if there was one that could be used for some of my devices and another that does the rest. Also the only thing that my Wife really needs on her nightstand is her phone so a stand that incorporates multiple watches or AirPods Pro Cases would be ok as well. Something that is important is obviously compatible charging Voltage, Amperage and Wattage. These stations are intended for bedtime so having blazing fast charging doesn’t matter and would prefer to err on the side of caution and go for battery longevity over speed as we can always plug into our 18 Watt chargers if we want the fastest possible charge but as slow as 7.5 Watt wireless is already I would prefer to have any wireless charging for the phone be 7.5 watts if it has wireless at all. One other thing would be a bonus would be if it had extra charging output ports either Type A or C to charge other devices I regularly use. I list all our Apple Devices and also my commonly used devices that need charged regularly. I don’t want people to think I am being lazy as I have spent hours looking at chargers and charger stations but I only found 1 Anker station that would work for us and want some suggestions from a community I trust, Thanks for the help and your time! I have a Dell G7 7588 that I bought in 2018. The specs are i7 8750H, GTX 1050ti, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, and 1TB HDD. I have heard that my laptop is using hybrid power (it's using the AC adapter and the battery simultaneously) because the AC adapter that I got in the box (130W) is not enough to power all the components in it (when I'm doing heavy task like playing video games). Because of that, after 3 years of using this laptop, my battery is currently in a really bad condition. My laptop can only turn on in 15 minutes before it ran out of battery. And also when I'm playing video games (like Apex Legends), my laptop will run out of battery even if it's plugged in, so the laptop will go to sleep mode in the middle of the game. So my question is: how much power does it actually need to power my laptop? Because I was wondering to buy an AC adapter that has higher power output. Does 150W enough? or should I get the 180W?
