Hello! First forum post here! I have been watching LTT since the Langly House days and love the content. Have you all considered creating a car channel, I have loved seeing the car reviews on Short Circut and think a channel, similar to Auto Focus, would be really cool to see from the LMG team. Something with a weekly or biweekly schedule would be fun. I don't know, I have had this on my mind for a few months and never really knew where to share it. Then I remembered the forum existed lol.

This project is unofficial! A paid Floatplane subscription is required for proper use. Was looking for a Roku client/channel, and I couldn't find one, so I wrote this small client. Supports login via Floatplane only (no legacy LTT forum, nor Discord). 2FA login is supported. I'm currently working on a few bugs/enhancements, though I work full time, so progress is sparse. Pull requests/bug reports are more than welcome! Got a question? Feedback? Poke me on Discord for a faster response! Where Can I Get It? Roku The source can be found on Github (https://github.com/bmlzootown/Hydravion), and it is available via the Roku channel store (https://my.roku.com/account/add/TCXTKHH or https://channelstore.roku.com/details/96a633034fff363b2a194509d75cb966/hydravion). Android TV This will have to be side-loaded for the time being. Feel free to submit any issues over on the Github page: https://github.com/bmlzootown/Hydravion-AndroidTV tvOS/Apple TV Still a work in progress, should I ever get the time, but it seems to work just fine in the simulator. To run it, you'll have to sideload the app, though, as I have no paid developer license. Feel free to submit any issues over on the github page: https://github.com/bmlzootown/Hydravion-tvOS Jamamp (Jman012) has been working on a tvOS app (Wasserflug) that looks much better, and has far more functionality, that is currently available on the app store (see Discord for more info). The source is available via Github as well: https://github.com/Jman012/Wasserflug-tvOS

Hey friends, I am building a toy computer for hosting game servers and such. The problem I am having is with booting the system with 2 RAM sticks. I can boot the system with a RAM stick in the Channel B slot, but the same stick in the Channel A slot does not get passed the DRAM error light. It also does not boot with matching sticks in both RAM slots. Specs: CPU: i5-7600k MoBo: ROG ASUS B250i RAM: Gskill DDR4-3000 CL15-16-16-30 2x8GB Any advice for troubleshooting would be appreciated. TESTED ALREADY: Bios Other Known Good Ram in A and A+B config Reseat CPU and Visual Inspection of Pins

I am thinking of starting a YouTube channel upgrading and moding old pc's I find in the e-waste and maybe selling them and stuff, I was mostly wondering if anyone had any video ideas or would be kind enough to tell me what they would like to see in my youtube videos, I'm willing to put in a lot of effort with editing and moding.

Hello all. I just recently got parts for a new PC I want to build, I noticed that my system won’t boot when installing the RAM in dual channel. I discovered that the motherboard won’t pass from the DRAM light when installing any RAM sticks in any or both A1 and A2 channel (first two ones from the socket). This doesn’t happen when installing them in one or both B1 and B2 channels. Both RAM sticks seem to work I can boot with either stick as long as is seated in any B channels. I have updated the bios on the motherboard to the latest non beta version. I have re seated the stock amd cooler three times and look for bent Pins in the processor but i don’t see any. Although I dropped the processor earlier and noticed it’s damaged at the bottom near the outer most line of the pins. Could this be the problem? If not what else can I check? Here my setup: Ryzen 5 5600G. Asus Tuf Gaming B550M Plus WiFi. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB kit (2x8GB) 3600Mhz. NZXT C750 power supply. Crucial P2 NVMe 500GB SSD. Many thanks in advance.

My computer has 16 GB of memory with 2x8 sticks. I was just given a single stick of 16 GB. Could I put the 2x8GB sticks together on the first channel and the 1x16 stick on the other, and get all the benefits of dual channel memory but no drawbacks of mixing and matching sticks?

before I proceed any further this is an idea and a suggestion, and most the comments made a generalised or from my own personal opinion LMG technically seven channels that uploaded to our have previously been uploaded to, each one has its on purpose and makes total sense for it to be for it to be on that channel. There is a topic or a section of technology which isn’t covered and used to be covered a lot more on the main channel, and it’s kind of covered in tech quickie, this would be tutorial or how to guides a series or a dedicated channel of tutorials / advice on how to complete either basic or advanced actions on your machine I.E installing windows or learning Linux (I know there isn’t one simple version of Linux however this would just be to realisation of some of the command or how to navigate) how to update A bios, or how to best upkeep a system or a server after years of use, This Knowledge is very well needed especially with the amount of information out there though is no one channel which has high quality information,

So recently I've been going through the LTT video history on YouTube and just enjoying the old unboxing/build guide videos all over again from the Ivy Lake/Haswell era. I'd absolutely love to see a stripped back, dedicated PC component unboxing and walkthrough channel for any newcomers to the PC game. They're the videos that made me confident enough to build my own PC way back then, and I feel this generation are missing out, because most/all channels gloss over the features and installation of different parts and just palm it off, saying 'but you knew that anyway' - some people don't. Don't know if there's enough of a market for it, but a 2-3 times per week unboxing/back to basics PC building class channel would be well received by me - and I'd watch it even though I know how to build a PC in its current format! Any thoughts anyone?

Hello, I seem to have an extremally bizzare issue with headphones / DAC. Let's start with hardware: ISK MDH8500 connected to E10K-TC (USB-C) on laptop and BEYERDYNAMIC DT770 Pro 80 Ohm connected to FIIO E10K Olympus II on PC. Something went very wrong twice. Two days ago DT770 stopped playing on the right channel and today ISK stopped playing on the left channel. In both cases headphones were working without any issues (I stopped using them in the evening and by the next day one channel was dead). I began thorough troubleshooting, Windows settings & drivers seem ok. I tried windows repair and DAC firmware reinstall. Both headphones were tested on separate devices using different audio ports, DACs and even laptops, so it seems that a hardware issue killed my headphones. The most bizzare thing is that both headphones were connected to different machines using different DAC and still managed to die withing 2-3 days. The only thing in common is that I launched OBS(latest version) on both machines, laptop and PC is even connected to a different power outlet. At this point i'm out of reasonable ideas as to why this happens. The only thing left is the suspicion that somebody is throwing EMP granades that target only one headphone channel into my room while i'm sleeping. What could be the cause? Did that ever happend to any of you?

I am a novice, I don't know anything, apologies for my ignorance, please treat me like a fool and explain things as if you were talking to a simpleton. Question 1 I was looking to buy Asrock Z790 Steel Legend Wifi. it says on Asrock website (link) it runs RAM memory Up to 6800+ MHz (OC), 4800 MHz Natively (also has some different number for DPC R which I after googling I still don't understand what they are, what is a channel and a rank, I wasn't sure, I want to buy RAM with 2 sticks of 16GB each, which rank and channel number apply to me?). I have seen in other websites selling this board some say up to 7000 some say 7200, is this because when the Asrock website was written the new memories that are 7200 werent out yet? And they just haven't updated the page? I want to buy DDR5 32GB 7200MHz, specifically, either Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB DDR5 2 Modules 7200 (CMH32GX5M2X7200C34), or G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32GB DDR5 R 2 Modules 7200 (F5-7200J3445G16GX2-TZ5R) Would I be ok with either of these 2 RAM purchases combined with the Asrock Z790 Steel Legend Wifi motherboard? Question 2 If a motherboard were to run the 7200 natively, would it consume less power than one that has to be overclocked to run 7200? Or it is more or less same power but just have to adjust settings cause when the board was made those memory Hz weren't out yet? Would I be stressing it too much and reducing life expectancy overclocking it to 7200?

Hey yall good people So I was helping out a friend and while I have a good discord knowledge--- installing a custom bot into a specific channel on a public server and somehow limiting access to that channel until they've met ( blank ) requirement--- isn't something I know how to do on an advanced level. The bot is already being made and will be given to me to install, I'm just missing the steps inbetween. I know about server subscriptions and such but I was wondering if there is an easier route that im missing, to, again, install a custom bot into a specific private channel on a server I manage and crucially is there a way to invite loads of (specific) users at once into this channel without having to manually assign roles to access the channel. Thanks a lot in advance, hoping this made sense.

I found this channel that i think is faking being part of lmg. There called lmg clips, and they just post clips of linus on wan show talking about stuff. they have also taken parts of other videos and put them up as shorts made for that channel

Okay so I'm pretty sure this is an age old question that's been asked and answered time & time again. The issue there is conflicting information and personal opinions over validated data. Here's the question though. If I upgraded a computer to 16gb of RAM would its configuration matter? By that I mean 4 - 4gb sticks occupying all four slots compared to 2 - 8gb sticks. Would it matter since the end result is 16gb? If so, what's the hit to performance? Is it something that changes from board to board or CPU to CPU? Thanks for your time forum and I sincerely apologise if it's an over asked question. I just figured this is the most reliable place to ask and get a legitimate tried and true response. Again, I appreciate your time in reading this and hopefully responding.

Hey! So... I was wondering if I'm the only one who is this annoyed by the new thumbnails and video titles. I love the channel's content in its majority, but Linus following this trend makes me want to pull my hair out. It really drives me crazy. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding how to stop this? Linus himself said in the WAN show he didn't like it, but it gave him more views, so he didn't have a choice. Are we out of options here? I appreciate any help.

I first built my system about a year ago thinking that 8 gigs of ram would be plenty for me. I'm now noticing that this isn't enough and I'm looking to upgrade to 16gb. I've been asking around and can't get a straight answer as to whether or not buying another stick would work with the one I have. The exact stick is still in my amazon order history so I can buy the same one again, I'd just like to know if it's an acceptable alternative to getting a 16gb kit. RAM in question: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BIWLFGQ/ref=twister_B01D9FZOJY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Since both are at about the same price, I want to know if there's any difference between Single and Dual Channel RAM. In my opinion, Dual Channel is aesthetically better, but I care much more about performance. Is there any difference? P.S: I'm going to buy DDR4 RAM.

Hello, good night everyone I'd like to know what is more convinient, i've recently bought an used Dell Optiplex 7010 MT, here the specs: Intel core i5-3550 3.3Ghz Ivy Bridge 3rd Gen. 4gb DDR3 PC3-12800 1600Mhz 500gb hdd Radeon hd 7470 So the thing is, it has 4 ram slots I've been looking to upgrade to 16gb in total So my computer technical book says the possible configuration to get 16gb is 4x4gb It's cheaper, at least where i live, to get 2 sticks of 8gb than 4 sticks of 4gb (I wanna sell the one it comes with) Intel Ark says, my cpu supports up to 32gb of Ram, but not sure if motherboard can cause limitation on this. It's a Q77 Chipset. So, do you think i must have to install 4x4gb as technical book says? Or is it the same if i use 2x8gb? One last question, what does it happen if i buy 2x8gb, and i keep the 4gb stick that came with the computer in its place, i mean, to have 20gb in total? I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have 2 identical sticks and one different, even if they are same bus speed. Thank you so much in advanced, God bless you.

It only slightly bothers me, but like the thumbnails becoming "less professional" ultimately I'm not going to stop watching because of it, and neither should you frankly. Still, if you COULD go back, would you and with what? Also turnip because.... Well I dont know why turnip is a thing but it is so I'm honoring tradition.

I was just thinking Linus has Techquickies and the main channel all to do with hardware. Then there is channel super fun which is just the mess about channel. Thought it would be good to fill the gap with a Linus gaming channel where you have different members of the linus's team playing games or messing about in them. Any thoughts?

Hi,,,I have an asus rampage v edition 10 motherboard and it supports quad channel DIMM system and it has 8 slots,,,i don't have the budget to fill all 8 of them so i decided to buy 4 8GB sticks to fill 4 of them (total 32GB),,,I thought i could use the quad channel feature as long as i fill at least 4 of the slots but then i checked the Gskill site for choosing the sticks (ripjaws v 3200 is the one i want) and according to their site all the quad channel kits have 8 sticks and 4 stick kits are considered dual channel,,,now i'm a little bit confused,,,does quad channel has to be 8 sticks or the Gskill site said this just for the sake of kit completion? thanks...

So I have been uploading videos for almost two years now I have just over 100 videos uploaded, and have a least uploaded once a week. I have been evolving my content and learning new techniques as I grow. If you compare some of my first videos to my heavily edited ones it's like night and day. I now have 46 subs and around 9400 video views, but I feel that I haven't been growing much for the amount of time I'm on there. I looked at other YouTube creators for advice and applied it, but I want to know what else I can do to grow my content or quality or my reach. Obviously I am doing something wrong. So if any of you guys have anything to give me I would like to know. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, and thank you in advance. Also I had a time where I did not upload videos for three months, Which could be a factor but there was also a time where I have been consistent for around a year.

I already know My motherboard supports the RAM I want. It is a MSI Z270 Gaming M7. I have the i7-7700k and according to intel's website [https://ark.intel.com/products/97129/Intel-Core-i7-7700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_50-GHz] it states "Max # of Memory Channels - 2" I would like to know what would happen if I put quad Channel. Will it reduce my performance? Will it not register the sticks of ram? Will The RAM all together not work? I would also like to know what happens if I use RAM at a higher speed than the CPU states is it's MAX memory speed/type. I really mostly wanna know Will it hinder my performance

Hello, I just bought a 16GB x2 = 32GB RAM, Geil EVO X 3000MHz built for Ryzen http://www.geil.com.tw/products/show/id/563 I haven't bought the GPU, Motherboard, and CPU for my new build. While I am deciding to wait for VEGA 56 instead of buying GTX 1060/1070, I started to think that maybe I should wait and get a Threadripper. (Thought of buying B350 and Ryzen 1700) And I started to browser for the Threadripper specs and it says that it needs a Quad Channel RAM. So I started to feel panic because I just bought a DUAL CHANNEL MEMORY!! I started to feel regret why did I buy a technology that has or becoming obsolete for my NEW build? I also started to look for Quad Channel memory, and I found that Corsair Vengeance with the same 16GB x2 spec, and roughly the same price. What makes my feeling worse is that the Corsair Vengeance says Dual/Quad Channel, why didn't I just get this instead of Geil EVO X? So my question is that, is it worth it to buy 32GB Dual Channel now, seeing that Threadripper will come out soon and make Dual Channel like tomorrow's tech? Should I wait for VEGA and Threadripper in the first place and use quad channel memory? Thank you!
