I am working on an idea and have some questions for you guys. I hope this discussion is welcome. How many keyboard shortcuts do you remember when using a creative software (i.e. photoshop, gimp, illustrator, ableton, after effects, etc.)? How long does it take you to remember a new shortcut? Would you use more shortcuts if they were more obvious? Thanks for any responses!

Looking at completely upgrading my pc next month, what would the best CPU be to mix with a 1070 for a decent amount of gaming, full time illustrator and photoshop?

recording from obs to a nas drive and the nas drive converting the file to a smaller size for adobe premiere pro. Not sure whether that makes sense, but I'll try my best to elaborate. So I want a Nas drive on my desk or near my computer. (You get the idea) I want to have it set up so my girlfriend and I can access it. I want it so my recordings from OBS are stored on it, and so that my premiere cc output is stored on it. I'm not too sure on file types but I record to MP4 multi channel audio and render out to MP4 for YouTube all in 1080p 60fps. As you can imagine the files sizes are massive. I'm wondering if I can set up a server/Nas device on the cheap (student budget) That can allow me to record to it, then compress the file on the fly so I then when I output it in Adobe premiere cc the file will be smaller? I also want to be able to store my massive library of films on it, as well as my music and photos, and I want to be able to set it up so my photos automatically back up from my phone and my girlfriends phone to it. As well has having automatic backups of our pcs? Can someone make this readable in a format for a dyslexic person? Thank you.

Hello. I have been using After Effects CS6 for a long time but have not upgraded to CC due to several reasons. Please could anybody here correct me and provide any workarounds for these issues? Issue 1: (RAM) Preview CS6's RAM preview served as a brilliant way to test a short segment of video, but CC's preview renders the frames live so often it doesn't play audio and is not realtime as my PC is not fast enough. Issue 2: Rendering It seems to me that CC has much faster rendering than CS6 for the most part, but the rendering options are... underwhelming. Rendering a 1-minute long video at 1920x1080, 24fps with a CBR bitrate of 6.0 Mbps using CS6's H.264 format produces a video with a filesize of 44.1MB File properties (screenshot) - This video is crystal clear and great quality. Rendering settings (screenshot) Rendering the exact same 1-minute long video at 1920x1080, 24fps with the quality at 100 using CC's Quicktime format and the H.264 codec produces a video with a filesize of 434MB File properties (screenshot) - This video is crystal clear and great quality. Rendering settings (screenshot) I also tried the same thing with the quality set to 50 and it produced a video with a filesize of 80.4MB File properties (screenshot) - Which is a much better filesize with an acceptable quality. However, that is still a decent amount larger than CS6's file, so I tried the same thing with the quality set to 25. This produced a video with a filesize of 46.8MB File properties (screenshot) - This video is watchable, but it's still fairly bad. So with the quality set to 25, the video is fairly low quality and is still a bigger filesize than AE CS6's file. Lowering the quality would make the video look horrific, but increasing the quality would result in even larger filesizes. Of course with a small, 1-minute video the size difference is minimal, but this is going to stack up quickly when working on lengthier videos. So that leaves me asking: How can I work around this new preview tool? What render settings should I experiment with? After Effects CC appears to be much faster and more optimised than CS6 as it's newer, so I wouldn't really like to stay on CS6. Any tips? Thank you kindly in advance!

Hey everyone, as you may be able to tell by the title, I'm having some problems with photoshop CC 2017. Specifically, after having installed the cc 2017 update, it completely refuses to open any of my existing jpg, png, and psd files. It will create new files and let me edit them but it won't let me edit or even open existing ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I run an ssd in my computer with an hdd for mass storage and larger applications. I just installed creative cloud and notice no option for choosing an install location for the creative cloud program. I am aware there is an option under preferences for changing the install location for apps (photoshop, premier, etc.), which works, but nothing for creative cloud itself. The problem I noticed is, despite setting the install location to the hdd, CC will still store the download and extract to the ssd, before installing to the hdd. I want to stop this behavior. I don't want all these large programs to have to funnel through the ssd to get installed on the hdd. Is there a way to change the install location of the creative cloud program itself? I'd prefer to not have to use symbolic links to do this. Thanks.

My CPU usage fluctuates a lot when using Adobe Media Encoder to render an After Effects project, which is an audio visualizer. I'm using the match source-high bitrate preset. The CPU usage goes up to 80% then 1 second later it comes back down to 40%-50% and then again goes back up to 80%-90%. This makes my rendering times massive. EDIT: Just tried to encode an avi file and the CPU usage is constant, so that means this fluctuation only occurs with After Effects project files. I'm running Adobe After Effects CC 2015 13.7 on Windows 10 My PC Specs: Lenovo x240 configured with: Intel Core i3-4010U 4GB DDR3 RAM 500 GB HDD

Hey there guys, Can anyone tell me where I can find Twixtor Pro for Premiere Pro? I only got my hands on After Effects Twixtor Pro cracked edition. Anyone who uses it knows that its too darn hard with its preview render. I need to get my hands on Premiere Pro's Twixtor asap. I am in the process of making a Comic Con video shot in 60fps. I need to upload it today as I am on a deadline. thanks a ton guys!

Hello guys, I am new here so I don't know if I am posting this problem in correct topic. On my PC, one of my drives ( E: ) has problem. Please look for attached photos. All the files I was working on, has been disappeared and new shortcuts with .cc extension has been added. Show Hidden Files is checked on but nothing else is there. As I have googled it is RSA-2048 Virus that encrypts your files. Any suggestions ? I have used all the suggested Anti Malware and Anti Virus programs but no sense. P.S. Don't know from where did it spread

Hello, I want to license some software with. A license sort of like CC-BY-NC-ND but better suited for software, as creative commons specifies that it is not ideal to use it for software. Does anyone know a software license that is no derivatives and if it exists, also non commercial? Thanks

Hey guys! I've been looking all over to find out where to go to get a descent surround receiver that can deliver 6 mono channels from Premiere Pro CC to the speakers. I currently have a Logitech Z-5500 with some other bad speakers and I'm looking to invest in new Hi-Fi speakers, problem is that the receivers that support a 5.1 input in RCA connections are expensive. I know i would be best off to just go with the expensive receiver but is there another way or another brand? Thanks in advance -Kasper

So I have a NUC 8i7HVK which I bought to play games and be mobile and work on my video editing skills. Adobe premiere does not run on the nuc. I have the latest driver updates for graphics and such but when I run premiere it shows all the videos as black whether I use mercury or openCL. It has an 8809G i7 Processor and Vega M GH graphics and intel even advertised the nuc8 as running adobe premiere 42% faster than the previous nuc7 but the nuc8 can't even display the video previews. Help please! Adobe told me to contact intel for support because adobe couldn't figure out the problem, sounds like a bad joke or a good segway to create a new linus tech tips video! Thanks for reading everyone! PS this is my first post. Woo!

So... I built a new desktop for a client, (I sold it...) but he wants to keep his old desktop. He doesn't care so much, he just needs a second computer, but after stealing it's ram, and replacing it with less, though faster ram, I keep running into boot code CC. He needs it back tomorrow, and MEM-OK only works once, then I have to do it again to boot a second time... HELP! Thanks

Hello. Im in need of a new laptop since my current laptop wont do the job. I have been looking at the Dell XPS 15 9570 with i7-8750h with 8gb ram, 1050ti, FHD and 512gb ssd. The problem is that i can get the Asus zenbook pro 15 ux580 with screenpad, 16gb, 512gb, FHD, i7-8750h and 1050ti for the same amount of the xps 9570. I like the design of the xps 15 but i have noticed people having problems with their recived problems, mostly thermal issues and throttling. Which one would you choose out of the mentioned ones when its primarily going to be used for the adobe package, 3d rendering and probably some light gaming like Rocket league, CSGO. One of the key specs i have been looking at is the display. Thats the main reason that i have strayed away from the gaming laptops as they usually dont have high srgb/argb color gamut. If you have a suggestion for a thin and light gaming laptop with atleast 100% SRGB and decent aRGB hit me up. I have been looking for +30 hours a laptops and i always come back to the pro models like the ones mentioned as the bulky design and bad displays doesnt appeal for the kind of work i intend to use it for.

Hello! So, yesterday I've built this pc: mobo - Z370 Gaming 7 from Gigabyte cpu - 8700k (w/ silent loop 280) gpu - 1080ti psu - Corsair AX860i ram - Corsair lpx 2x8GB 3GHz Basic version of 64bit Win10 +drives from my previous pc, Kingston 240GB ssd, WD 1TB hdd I've had no problems with it, I even managed 5GHz oc @ 1,28V, tortured it for about 7-8 hours in prime95, thrown it into aida64, benchmarked a couple of times in cinebench, I even played hoi4 on it, all ok! silicon lottery 0:1 me? Today I've tried to turn it on HAHA NO It managed to boot into windows for about 10 seconds, then it just restarted and again and again... I've managed to enter windows safe mode, but that worked for about 30 seconds. I've thought this oc is not a stable one then. So, I've cleared the CMOS a couple of times, but after some tries, some boots and restarting like before, the only thing this rig can do now is to glow in rgb rainbow for about 2 seconds and show that strange CC debug code that isn't described in the mobo manual while bootlooping endlessly... it's more easy to understand here, especially with my not-the-best englando, there you go: (I wasn't touching anything but my phone while I was recording this, also the white led that is showing up is a monitor in standby mode) help plz i must kill ppl in 1440p@144hz

Hello guys i edited video and put it on export, but is it normal for it to go by 1% every 15/20min? Did i do something wrong, because i have decent PC and it takes forever to render 5min video. Also if this ever finish and i decide to add intro infront of it and do some small changes would i need to wait the same amount of time again?

Last month it was announced that Apple was no longer supporting QuickTime support for Windows and that QuickTime contains security flaws and should be uninstalled. As a consumer I can see this being no big deal since there are superior playback options like VLC. As a professional it causes a big problem. I uninstalled QuickTime and no problems that I noticed right away. Then I start working on a video using Adobe Creative Cloud, and Premiere, Media Encoder, and After Effects all became riddled with missing media and unsupported codec errors. The culprit was QuickTime being uninstalled. Adobe posted this on April 16th, 2016 - "Recently the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team issued Alert (TA16105-A), which recommends Windows users uninstall Apple QuickTime from their computers... Adobe has worked extensively on removing dependencies on QuickTime... we continue to work hard to improve this situation, but have no estimated timeframe for native decode currently... We will provide more information on this as we progress." Now comes the issue of WINDOWS SECURITY versus FUNCTIONING SOFTWARE. QuickTime Uninstalled: Security threat removed, Adobe software doesn't function properly so I can not do my job QuickTime Installed: My system is vulnerable but Adobe Creative Cloud functions and I can do my job Any other content creators finding it frustrating that in order to work we have to knowingly keep vulnerable software installed on our systems? It's been almost a month since the announcement and so far nothing has been done to provide reassurance to their 7 million paid subscribers. As a long time Apple user I find it somewhat of a burn that they would pull something like this, leaving millions of professionals having to choose between computer security and doing your job. Apple have put Adobe in between a rock and a hard place and I hope a fix is on the immediate horizon but until them I'm stuck running compromised software. I'd assume the LTT team must be experiencing similar woes in their production process. I'm curious what their fix is for this inconvenience.
