Hey, my friend recently got a elgato hd60s+ but when using it through obs the preview is laggy (not delay or anything just seems to be dropping frames) she's tried different hdmi and usb-c cables (usb-c is 3.0 and plugged into a 3.0 port) but the same issue continues. Any ideas? Or any other program we could try in to see if it's specifically an obs issue? thank you. specs: GTX 970 intel i7 6700 16gb ddr3 ram -
So I’ve got a windows Vista machine that I mainly just use for older games like vice city and crysis 1&2 but I’ve got this weird capture card and wondering if I could use it in this pc to capture and record gameplay off of a composite signal and how would I do so?

Hey guys, I recently bought a cheap $8 capture card and tried doing the dual stream PC set up. The stream was extremely pixelated and low quality although i was streaming at 1080p. Gaming pc (Rtx3080 & Ryzen 5600x). I wanted to know if whether was it my internet, laptop or capture card that is causing this pixelated and low quality stream (video link at the bottom). I also streamed through gaming PC only and the results were better. But I do want to know which device is the cause of the pixelated stream. I only get a USB Error on the EVGA XR1 Lite. I have 3 new ones that I got in December. each one of these does it. They are updated to latest but i still get error. After Pc reset they will work for about an hour. Here are the Picture of the USB Unknown.

Hello, I use an oculus quest with link on my pc, and that has made recording very difficult. My oculus quest uses 60-70% of my gpu's video encoder so trying to record footage on obs leaves me with a not great looking 720p30fps stream so I started looking at capture cards. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money so I know I am not going to get a perfect capture card or anything, but I was wondering if anyone knew of one that could do 1080p60 and was under like $30-40. I have found many that do 720p60 and 1080p30 for like $10 and several videos on their performance (if anyone is itnerested) https://youtu.be/daS5RHVAl2U I might just use one of those but I wanted to know if anyone knew of one. Also, I use DVI for my monitor and don't have an hdmi port on my monitor and I was wondering if that would affect anything. Beatsaber which is pretty much the only game I would be recording using this lets you drag the desktop window to any display so even if it creates a virtual display that would be completely fine I just wanted to make sure it would work. I know this is a really strange question but I'm curious to know if anyone has any good ideas on how to have a pc display appear on a Mac mini using a capture card to record/stream pc gameplay. I want to use a Mac as my main computer, but have my gaming pc to play games. I don’t want to have to swap HDMI cords each time, and it would be cool if my Mac was able to stream my pc display to discord for example so my pc can conserve resources. Similar to a dual pc setup for streaming but the second pc is actually a Mac mini. I've heard solutions such as remote desktops and KVM switches but none fully satisfy my very niche needs. Ideally I would be able to record and stream gameplay on my Mac in 1080p60, but game on my monitor with 1080p144. No clue if this is possible, but I have been stumped on ideas and would LOVE some feedback. -
I have a pretty reasonable personal gaming setup that I'd like to start using more for streaming. My problem is that while my 1650 Super does a great job at cranking out 80-120 and even 240 (depending on the game) fps at high-ultra settings, it just can't keep up when it comes to encoding. My options are play at great settings for me but have choppy streaming/recording performance, or play at reduced settings and framerates to get video to match. I know that Elgato's PCIe capture cards all have dedicated encoding chips, along with their top-tier standalone option. Since I'm currently using the NVEC encoder on my 1650, could I get a capture card and adjust my settings in OBS or Elgato's capture software to use the encoder on there? Or do I simply need to get a stronger graphics card to get better recording/streaming performance?

I want to record my gameplay but I find that AMD's record function in driver is just suck and sometimes make some DirectX errors to game. Also tried OBS but the performance lost cannot be acceptable. So I'm planning to buy a capture card to record my gameplay. The problem is, I'm using a 4k 144Hz monitor. Is there any capture card support 4k 144Hz passthrough? recording resolution is OK to be 60Hz, both external and internal type can be acceptable.

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a cheap capture card that does 1080i properly (Not deinterlaced by the card, so i can properly do it with OBS, or deinterlaced to 60FPS by default.) it needs to support HDMI, as i use a PS2 to HDMI adapter, and my current capture card only does 1080i/1080p at 30 FPS maximum. And it would be best if the capture card didn't compress video using MJPEG like the one i'm using at the moment, or didn't compress video at all. I also plan to use 480i/480p 50/60hz on this capture card. If the capture card only supports Component, it would be quite costly for me to get a PS2 component cable, so, HDMI would be best ^^" any help ? (i don't know if this is the right subforum for this topic so mods, feel free to move this topic elsewhere.)

Hello everyone, as the title says I have an Issue with my new Capture Card. I just got myself a Pengo 4K HDMI PCIe Capture Card and installed it into my System. It got recognized just fine and I got a video feed showing up in OBS and a working passthrough to my monitor I'm playing on. The issue however occurs randomly after leaving the console and preview feed running for X minutes (without any recording / Streaming). My OBS Preview freezes and my actual monitor turns black for X seconds. The Capture Card also diasppears in the devices list. Things I've already tried: trying a different PCIe slot updating to latest BIOS setting my PCIe slots to gen3 in the BIOS I tried the Windows Camera App instead of OBS with the same result My PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x MB: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE ATX GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB GAMING X TRIO PSU: SeaSonic FOCUS 650 W 80+ Platinum RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory SSD: WD Black SN850 1 TB M.2-2280 NVM OS: Windows 10 x64 I'm out of ideas what could cause the issue. You guys think it might be bcause I set my PS5 to 4K resolution while my monitor does the downscaling to 1440p? But I guess in that case I would get a Signal Issue instead of it disconnecting itself? I've used an Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme 2 with the same configuration before which was working fine but gave me different kind of issues.

Just asking to confirm. I have a laptop with an extended monitor that I have set as the primary monitor. I was thinking, am I able to plug the hdmi capture card at my laptop and the monitor connects to the capture card so its like Laptop > Capture Card HDMI > Monitor I am thinking like this bcs if Im not mistaken capture card can reduce stress on rendering within the GPU or CPU either one chosen to stream. I just installed the hd60 pro in my pc. When I try to use the game capture software it says no signal. I've disabled hdcp in my radeon settings, and my windows display is set to duplicate screens (my main monitor is 2560x1440 with 165hz refresh rate) I realize the card can only capture in 1080 60fps, but when i set my display to 1080 i still get no signal. Updated drivers for radeon settings and restarted a few times after enabling/disabling the capture card. Can someone please help, i just want to record some games :( Aorus x570 elite wifi Ryzen 7 3700x XFX rx570 8gb

i just got a capture card to stream games on my switch but the only way i have found to view it is through OBS which has a little delay. is there any way to show the capture card output directly on my monitor and then share my monitor for less delay? -
So I just received my AverMedia GC553 in the mail today. Connected everything, set it up installed newest drivers etc. and it was showing an image which already made me happy. Next thing I notrice is that after a random amount of time (mostly between 5 and 15 minutes) the preview of the image just freezes (audio does not). This obviously means that my stream / recording also stops and I have to either reconnect the capture card or deactivate and activate again in OBS. I hope that somebody knows something about this capture card and could help me :) Thanks in advance! Oh yeah also my main specs are: Mainboard: ASUS Prime A320M-K Graphics card: RX 580 8Gb CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 (stock) Ram: 16Gb DDR4 2666Mhz Windows 10 Pro newest version Also, I already know that it says "Intel chipset recommended" on their page but Ive looked around and theres a lot of people having no issues with this on an AMD system.

Hey peoples, noob here! I am loving the Lian Li TU150 case but as much as I do, I can't sacrifice not having my AVerMedia Duo Capture Card. I most probably am missing something obvious but browsing motherboards and different builder sites only allow for the little mini boards. I'd love to make this happen bc I am mobile with my rig and need my DSLR with me for work. So I guess another "Portable" case is my second option. I guess the Sliger SM580 is the simple solution but I like the chonky boi TU150 and SM580 is almost four times the price!? [EDIT] The mini boards like on the picture only have a place for the graphics card. I believe up to triple PCI slots covers. Mine is a double. I'd like to utilize the bottom space for my capture card but all the mini motherboards don't allow it! (Sorry for lack of actual question!) Thanks you for your time! ~Seth

I prefer the Avermedia, because It'll allow recording of high frame rates upto 240 on 1080P, which I prefer, because I can fiddle with slow motion effects much better that way. But on the other hand the Elgato 4k60 Mk2, can send out two separate signals allowing you to stream at (My pref. 936p) and even record raw non-overlay vod at 4k, but it's maxed at 60 FPS for recording -
Hello I'm new to streaming. I was wondering, will a cheaper capture card slow down my fps on the gaming computer from slower conversion of the game/stream data? So I picked up an Elgato 4k60 pro mk2. It's detected by windows but as soon as I try using it, nothing. It's not detected as a display in my gaming pc. OBS just says "no signal" and the 4k capture utility shows "No EDID. Reboot computer". I tried the included hdmi cable and plugging it into the gpu in my streaming pc, and passthrough to the monitor, still nothing. Firmware shows 00.00 and upon checking elgatos pages, they state "DO NOT FLASH". Any suggestions? My gaming monitor (1440p korean no-name) is using dvi so the capture card is connected to the hdmi port on my rtx 2060

I plan on buying rtx 3070 .will 4k footage from shadowplay look different at 130 Mbps than 140 Mbps capture card except little colour .I want the video to not look like 1080p YouTube video compared to 1080p game actually looks.if not than why capture cards exist ?I am confused .I wanna record 4k video.How much performance hit I should expect at 130mbps -
I'm trying to find a no-compromise solution to record extremely smooth gameplay footage. I want to achieve the following: 1) Up to 4K60 recordings (usually 1440p) 2) Leaving Gsync enabled on my main monitor 3) Consistent frametimes in the recording 4) Minimal to no performance impact on my gaming PC 5) 1440p 240Hz on my monitor (I'm aware capture card passthrough is limited to 144Hz so I wouldn't use that). I tried the following but encountered issues: 1) GeForce Experience Shadowplay: inconsistent recording frametimes when Gsync is enabled. When I cap my FPS at 60 or disable Gsync, I get smooth recordings. 2) OBS: inconsistent recording frametimes when Gsync is enabled, large performance hit 3) OBS+NDI: recordings seem smoother, but there's still more of a performance hit than Shadowplay. I've heard mixed results about using a capture card and duplicating displays, can anyone confirm if this actually works well? Do most YouTubers/streamers just not use Gsync? Cause I really can't stand tearing. Thanks!

I have a laptop and I want to use ONE 144Hz monitor and ONE cheap capture card(no passthrough just HDMI in and USB out) with a single HDMI port. YES, I want them to be cloned but I want to keep my monitor at 144Hz and not capped at 60Hz What I tried : I bought a cheap $3 HDMI duplicator which was able to copy the 1080P60 signal to both the capture card and monitor, but as soon as I switched to 144Hz, only the monitor keeps displaying and the capture card starts blacking out (almost whole time, maybe too much of a signal for cc to handle) I want to know if there is something which sends 1080p 144Hz to my monitor and 60Hz signal to my CC(so that it can pass it to the USB). -
I have a laptop as my main gaming PC and a second PC to stream but I want to use my monitor to view the laptop screen but also be able to send an HDMI signal to my capture card for streaming The problem is when I duplicate the HDMI signal with this and if I use my monitor in 1080p 144Hz mode then the capture card output starts flickering and only garbage output. Can I somehow get it sorted ? See the image attached

Hey all, I’m USA based and looking at getting into twitch streaming. I used to do it awhile back and streaming things like Minecraft was easy. But now I’m into games like Escape From Tarkov. I ran some screen recording test and my fps dropped a noticeable amount to the point where I felt it was impacting my ability to play. I would ‘like’ to capture 1080p 60 fps. I’m looking for some guidance in what I should upgrade in my PC or add to it. From my research a capture card will likely not do much unless I had a second desktop (or unless you all know of a card that really reduces overall load on my PC). Otherwise I’m sure my GPU is very dated now. Any suggestions or priority order from you all for me to focus on? I would like to take this one upgrade at a time to minimize costs and don't really want to spend more than lets say $600 (but if needed the upgrades can happen over the course of months if necessary to expand the budget). //Current PC Build Details GPU: Nividia RTX 2060 SUPER CPU: i7-4770K, 4 Core @ 3.5 GHz Memory: 16 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H-CF -
So, this is going to be a very long issues. But I'll put TLDR version first. I bought a new monitor, Acer XV240Y (The label in the image below is the Monitor 2 1080p 144hz). But whenever I'm trying to connect my consoles with HDMI switcher. It doesn't work (Except for Nintendo Switch for some reason). Confirmed Monitor problem, because the same exact layout, I used with my old monitor, it works. Here is my layout: https://imgur.com/a/yyFHQ0W LONG Version: Recently I bought a new monitor (Acer XV240Y, monitor 2 1080p144hz in image above) to connect with my consoles (PS5,Xbox,Switch). Since I streams and records a lot, all of my consoles connected to capture card. However before going to capture card, it goes to the HDMI Switcher first (See Layout Image above for easier understanding). I also use a HDMI Switchers for PS5 before going to capture cards because sometimes I want to play games on my 4k Monitor. So anyway, after setup everything based on images above, I tried with my new monitor (Acer XV240Y, monitor 2 1080p144hz in image above) it doesn't works. At first I thought because the HDMI is too long, the HDMI Switcher doesn't have enough power etc. However, after almost 10 hours trouble shooting, I find it weird that the new monitor only works whenever I direct connect it with my consoles (No HDMI Switchers). Then I tried the same exact setup, but with my old monitor Dell S2316H. Then it works flawlessly! So I'm guessing that Acer Monitor have a problem. I'm not sure what setting should I put, since there are so much option in the setting. So I need help, maybe anyone who face this issues before. Thanks in advance. p/s: yes, I did disabled the HDCP on PS5. UPDATED: After few days of troubleshooting. I can conclude 2 reason why it have problem. I'm sharing the details here incase anyone else having the same issues with me in the future. There are 2 main reasons why the monitor doesn't work. 1. The console detecting the monitor as 4k, but its actually 1080p. Hence when it forces the display to 4k, its kinda messing with the display. 2. HDMI Switcher. Tried another HDMI Switcher, and it works now. The reason it didn't work before, because the console still outputting 4K. Thus it is messing with the Switcher. Solution tldr: Change the output for the console to 1080p with the monitor, THEN change the HDMI Switcher.
