Hey guys. I'm planning my next build and want to use Phanteks D30 fans as case fans and radiator fans. However I'm not a fan of the Phanteks Glacier One D30 pump block so I thought I'm gonna use a Deepcool AIO with D30 fans instead. But I was thinking how I would have to connect that whole thing afterwards. Correct me but is this correct: Pump power to CPU FAN 2/PUMP Pump RGB to motherboard (yes i would like to control that via motherboard) Fans power to CPU FAN 1 Fans RGB to RGB controller or daisy chain link Would that work?

I want to mount a broken AIO cooler (no water) to my pegboard and use it as a cool tech decoration with working LEDs and fans. I know i can route the cables into my pc and connect them to the motherboard however this is the least favorable option i have come up with so far. I found these neat 3 pin fan connector - USB adapters , but it only provides 5v and not 12 needed for the full effect...i think ? If anyone has an idea or has done something similar id be really happy to take on any advice offered up. reallly i just want the fans to spin and the leds to light up.. i think the LED on the cap of the actual cooler is connected to the power for the pump which i dont need running. so i think just the fans would work, just stuck on the how to make it happen part. Thanks

Budget (including currency): $3000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: WOW, Witcher 3, Photoshop, Premiere, OBS (streaming) I don't know if this is the correct board, if not please tell me where is the correct one. Hello LTT communtiny was hoping for some help regarding creating a server like what I saw in a old video by Linus at his house. I am wanting to buy a server rack enclosure and put it in a server room and then have my pc in the server rack and run cables to my office. I have 3 display port monitors and about about 8~10 usbs devices (mouse, keyboard, mic, etc.) That I need connected to be able to use. I am hoping for it to be easily modular. What would be the best methods to complete this with minimal latency issues? Thus far all research results have been for "simpler builds"(not as many usb connections) or were 3+ years old.Thank You!

Hi All, I am having zero luck finding products that show they will sit flush to the wall when I install them, like power sockets do... All I can see to get is faceplace& Modules and surface mount backboxes, not in-wall ones?? Am i being stupid and missing something? Attached is my planned comms express order. Help!

So i just recently built my first computer and i am starting to clean up the cabling as much as possible and i want to buy some sleeved extensions for the front panel connectors from CableMod but i want to use a usb extender since i would have to buy 3 front panel cables as opposed to the one usb extender. I wanted to know if anyone else has used a usb 2.0 extender for the same purpose and since there will be exposed pins on the extender i was thinking of covering them with hot glue or something so that they do not make contact with the case or any other metals. Do you think this will work?

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right form to post this in but I'm unsure of what cables I will need to purchase for my new build. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Current Build - Everything Connected Updated Build - Haven't Purchased New Components Yet Not really looking for part recommendation's just what cabling I need that will work with my motherboard.

Hey everyone so here's the jist: I want to connect my Xbox audio that comes through my monitor as well as the audio that comes out of my laptop to my speakers. I've seen the y-splitters that do the reverse (one source to multiple outputs) but I didn't know if it would work backwards. If you all could give me any advice that would be awesome. Thanks!

I have purchased a Corsair 750D, with the intention of using it as a File/Media Storage Server/PC. I have started the build and use of, and I am trying to add some more 3.5 HDD's to the case. Problem. The current SATA PSU cables have too much of a gap between the SATA Power connectors that they bulge outwards preventing me from reconnecting the OS 2.5 SSD's. I have tried a Thermaltake and a "Corsair" specific PSU SATA Power Cable, and both are a good length to reach all the HDD mount locations, but are to long between the gaps of the actual SATA Power Connections. I have purchased a Silverstone CP06-E4 4-way SATA Power Cable, which is the ONLY one I could find with actual measurements between the connectors (43mm), the downside is that it has to have an additional connector which I don't like as it is something that could become loose and cause problems. If this is my only option I'll bite the Bullet and tape it (Maybe). https://www.pccasegear.com/products/27074/silverstone-4-way-sata-power-splitter-cable-black/ Yes, I'm in the land down under. Question. Does anyone know of a PSU SATA power cable with short gaps, or a website that has the actual measurements, or specifically any recommendations for PSU SATA Power cables that will allow me to install 8-12 3.5 HDD's and the 2.5 SSD's specifically within the Corsair 750D case?! Many thanks. I have asked this within the Corsair Forums, but no response, so this is my preferred forum. Fred PS I could attach a photo but I'll have to shut down, dissemble, etc & not keen ATM

Hello My motherboard has no onboard wifi, however my house has ethernet cables throughout it. I have two ethernet out ports on my wall right beside my computer and a good cable to connect my computer with, but at my modem there is a bunch of ethernet cables all being unmarked. I have tried connecting all of them to my modem and seeing if they are the correct one but none of them worked. I have no experience whatsoever in networking and need help asap please. Thanks

I'm running a couple ethernet cables from one room to another and had a question about terminations. Normally I would want to use a keystone on one end and a patch panel on the other, with small patch cable running the last couple feet to the switch. But this is being done with minimal cost. Is there any problem with having the keystone on one end and a regular RJ-45 on the other going straight into the switch (other than it being a little non-standard)?

I plan on making shorter cables but any suggestions on where I just mount my patch panel and switch? https://imgur.com/gallery/cdZ5JXc

I’m rebuilding pc in a new case and uhhhh forgot how to plug in the reset and power connectors (the tiny two pin ones that attach to the pins on the mobo) if I screw them up, can either damage the pc? Or it just won’t boot and I’ll have to redo it?

Recently I have really gotten into building custom keyboards. I have begin to think that the next step is to make my own braided cable. Anyone have brands or methods they'd recommend for buying semi bulk USB-C cable?

(Its too dark to take decent pictures of black on black things right now so you get a bad diagram of what there is and because I forgot to put a legend or anything on it, the pink circles mark the SATA plugs I'm using) Okay, so I replaced my PSU after it died and while hooking it up I ran into a small problem. There aren't enough spots to plug into on the new PSU for all the things I unplugged from the old one. This has left me with a bit of weirdness to figure out. As you can hopefully see in the diagram, I do have a spare (not in use) one of those PSU-cables-that-look-like-PCI-E-but-I-don't-think-are-them-actually [I think they're called EPS maybe] so my first thought was to look for an adapter that would connect those maybe-EPS to the SATA power and just take the whole molex bit out entirely but then I realised that the molex to probably-not-PCI-E has the two SATA I'm using on it. I found male to male EPS things that look like they would work to connect that spare cable from the PSU to the weird molex-SATA-EPS(?) cable but is that a stupid idea? My hardware knowledge is rusty and was never heavy on cables in the first place so I'm not sure if putting what essentially amounts to an extension into a power cable thingy is a good idea. FURTHER INFOS: The red SATA power cable doesn't just end in nothing, it goes through the plate the motherboard is mounted on and hooks up to stuff, I just didn't add that in. Adapt is just what I wrote on the SATA end of the SATA to molex adapter thing. The end of the weird molex-SATA-EPS(?) wire is just hanging out next to the PSU becuse there aren't enough places to plug it in there, its not actually hooked in or this whole thing would be a bit of a moot point. My computer (minus one SSD because I just noticed it wasn't on there unless there are two on there when you look, then I apparently added it): PCPartPicker The male to male EPS thingy I found: Amazon Currently has Windows 10 on it, don't think it matters since I'm asking about cables but its in the list of things to make sure to include so there you go. Uh, can't include the BIOS version because its not hooked up but I don't think that matters either? I hope? Because this is one big heavy computer and I really don't want to move it back into place to hook up to turn on to check the version of the BIOS and then move it back and open it back up for messing with cables more. Uh, I think that should cover everything hopefully?

So I'm installing a media panel in my house and was debating on how to handle the surge. Theres going to be a UPS in this media panel so my question is can I use the built in surge on the UPS? I've heard some people say built in surge is useless and to have dedicated surge protection. Help

So I'm in the process of cabling my house and was trying to figure out how I wanted to lay out all the devices in my media panel. It's a little cramped but its going to have to do and theres more that has to go in. I'll include some pictures, the red square is where the coax splitter would most likely go. Basically give me your opinion on which layout would work best or suggest a new layout. Thank!

Hi guys, After pouring too much time and too much $ into my latest build, I saw the Inwin 303, and realized that it looks cool. Dammit Inwin. So, I was looking into it and realized that there's no grommets anywhere. Being the OCD freak that I am, I needed to fix this, so enter custom grommets. I've seen some questions about this topic, and there isn't much information online about it, so I decided to make this basic guide. I haven't actually bought all the parts for the build, so this won't have any pictures, but if people want some I can get the rest of the stuff and get that up in a week or two. Anyways, guide time: Find some rubber. Now, there's a couple things that you need to consider here. First is colour. If you want black, that is the easiest to find. Of course, since we are doing this ourselves if you're adventurous you can experiment with other colours. However, make sure it matches your case colour well (black specifically can look kinda bad if the shades don't blend well). Next, you need to get the right thickness. Generally, 1-2mm or 1/16" is ideal. Last, check reviews or specs if available to make sure it is flexible enough to handle a good amount of cable insertions and won't stiffen. An example of something that works decently is: https://www.amazon.ca/LASCO-02-1048E-Rubber-6X6-Inch-16-Inch/dp/B0074II2K6/ref=sr_1_7?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1470151863&sr=1-7&keywords=1%2F16 Get some double sided tape for putting the grommets onto the back of the motherboard tray. This is pretty easy to find, just keep the width of the tape low if you can. Here is a decent example: https://www.amazon.ca/Genuine-9448AB-Strength-Double-Adhesive/dp/B01ADR2HGY/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1470152074&sr=8-12&keywords=3m+double-sided+tape Once you get your rubber, grab some KY and bring up an Incognito window... Take a piece of paper, and trace out all of the cutouts on the motherboard tray that you want to cover on the paper, keeping at least 4 inches (10 cm) between each one if you're using one sheet for multiple traces. Then, depending on the width of your tape, trace around that shape, but with some extra room to allow for tape to be put around the edges. Take the paper, and put it on top of the rubber. Put a slight imprint onto the rubber with the inner and outer shapes, then grab an exact-knife (sharp blade) and cut out the larger shape only. Now you want to consider the cutout shape you want to use for the grommet. There are a few ways, that very in stealth, effectiveness, etc. I have attached a file with a few designs that have worked for me (sorry for the crap quality, I'm doing this at my office in Paint). Look at some other cases on the market for more ideas and/or examples. Once you choose a design, cut that out of the inner shape with your blade. Now, adhere the tape around the cutout on the back of the motherboard tray, and apply the grommet. Enjoy your cleaner system! Grommet Tracing: Cutout Designs:

I've wanted to put my SSD into the dedicated 2.5 inch bay in the NZXT H440 but the SATA power cables I have are 90 degree connectors and the cable routing holes aren't close enough so the cable can plug into the SSD with out the cable blocking itself because of the 90 degree angle. If your wondering what power supply I have its a corsair rm550 Any help appreciated Thanks

Hey guys, So I'm investing in the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 Power Supply for my new rig, and want to use red sleeved cabling to maintain my internal's black & red aesthetics. I've looked online, and seen different sites / people say different things about the sleeved cable options from Corsair, BitFenix, etc. So my potentially very naive question is does it matter if I use Corsair (or BitFenix, or whomever) cabling on an EVGA power supply, or do I have to get particular EVGA Made / EVGA Compatible cabling? Thanks all!

Im building a PC in the next week or so, and I'll be using two 980's as my GPU's, however, i received two sets of pci-e cables that look like they'll power the cards, but im not sure which ones to use, the cable that I was thinking of using comes out of the PSU as an 8Pin, then at the pci-e end has 2* 2+6pins, as my GPU's use two 6pins, would i be able to use the single 8pin to 2* 2+6 pins and just leave the 2*2 dangling, or would i have to use 2* 8pin to 2+6pin? Extra Notes; -RM850 PSU -Not planning on overclocking the GPU's
