Hey, Wasn't sure where to post this so apologies in advance if it's in the wrong section. Is there anybody that owns both Mod mesh and flex pro cable extensions in white that could show me a side by side comparison? I'm not sure what to buy for my new system xD Thanks for the help in advance, Lex

Hey guys, I've finally saved enough to buy the all of the rest of the things that I need for my build but I'm stuck on making the purchase because of the cables. I definitely want custom cables or cable extensions from cable mod or something better if there is a better alternative but my big issue is that I don't exactly know what specific cables to get. I would be really grateful for some help. If it's visible I want it nice neat and color schemed. I just really want it to look nice since I'm dropping so much money on it. Going to buy some cable combs as well. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/BrandonComputes/saved/JVNQ7P Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor NZXT Kraken X42 Liquid CPU Cooler Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra ATX LGA1151 Motherboard G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Samsung 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX Mid Tower Case EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition 39.9 CFM 120mm Fan Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition (2-Pack) 62.7 CFM 120mm Fans Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition (2-Pack) 39.9 CFM 120mm Fans Corsair STRAFE Wired Gaming Keyboard Logitech K400 Plus Wireless Mini Keyboard w/Touchpad Mionix NAOS 7000 Wired Optical Mouse GGing Pro gaming mouse pad (extended) NZXT hue+

Hello all! I've been watching the Ultimate DIY Desk PC a lot lately. Enough that it's what I want my next build to be very similar to. It seemed out of reach until I got VERY lucky in a round of black jack at my local casino. One fevered amazon order later, and I have a table full of components. I do have a few more pieces on the way, but this is what I have so far. I'm going for a black and white build, with all the major components being either Asus or Corsair. I'm having the cable done by CableMod, but those are estimated to being 3ish weeks away from shipping. Maybe @CableMod can tell me if the 3-4 week waiting period is actually a realistic wait time. Can't seem to find any info online about their move or recent reviews that include wait times. Anyway, I'm using Linus's build as a guide, but I'm not planning on liquid cooling. I'm hoping to use AIO for the cpu's (more on that later) and just use case fans to create a wind tunnel type effect without being too noisy. I'm also going to use some really wood struts as a support to assuage my sagging worries This is a picture of the bottom, with the supports gluing. Already seems to be helping, since the board was already warped from just sitting on my upside down chair during the cutting process. I also had the issue of my local wood provider not offering cutting of mdf. They said it was too rough on the saw. So I had to go out and buy a table saw and do it myself. They waited until I had already purchased the wood before telling my they don't do that, after having called to confirm earlier in the morning that they do. I couldn't even take it home because I was not fitting an 8x4' board in the back of my PT Cruiser. So it was added to a shipment order for that friday (4 days later) and subsequently forgotten. I finally got it Sunday after several calls and their profuse apologies. So the desk fabrication is behind, the cable measuring is delayed and I'm still stoked on this. I'm totally ignorant of all design programs, so this is all free hand with a few scribbles in a note book to make sure I remember dimensions. My overarching plan is to have my gaming rig in almost the same config as Linus, but where all the rads and such were, I'm going to put in my current pc and build it into a NAS. It's an m-itx with an i5 6400 and 16gigs of ram. I'm figuring on selling the 970 mini and using that money to get a sized piece of tempered glass. My new build is as follows: Intel i7 7700 7700k Corsair H100i V2 AIO cooler Asus Prime Z270A Corsair Vengeance LED 32g kit (overkill) Corsair MP500 480gb M.2 Asus GTX 1080 Strix Gaming Corsair RM750x PSU 2x WD 2TB Black drives My old build Intel i5 6500 Corsair H55 Aio Cooler MSI H110i mobo G.Skill Ripjaws 16gb Kit Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd Gigabyte GTX 970 mini OC edition EVGA SuperNova P1 650w PSU I do have a few questions, having had varying degrees of luck finding the answers through google. 1. How probable is it that air cooling will be enough for this build? 2. Is SLI a good bet with riser cables? 3. Should I even bother with the mechanical drives if I'm gonna have the NAS setup? Thank you for reading this far, for all of you who did at least. I'll be updating this with pictures as I make progress. Any thoughts or opinions or tips or whatever will be appreciated.

I just backed the second run of the DAN-A4 case and was wondering what custom length cables Linus and Luke used for their builds? I'd like to order them ahead of time but I'm not really sure where to check?

So I have been out of the PC world for over 10 years and want desperately to get back into it. I have a build planed out, all black and orange, the problem is; the PSU (Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G RGB 850W) that I want does not seem to be supported by Cable Mod, probably because Thermaltake makes cable extensions of there own. I don't see why a Cable Mod 24pin cable would be any different from the Thermaltake one. can any one tell me why there are so many Cable Mod cables for each different PSU and if there would be a problem using a the Cable Mod cables below with the PSU I have picked out, id hate to buy the cables and waste the money. Hello everybody, I am looking to install a LED strip to my case but I was wondering if adapting a 3-pin female fan connector would be possible since I want to use a molex to several 3-pin male fan header cable to avoid clutter. The strip is 12V. This is the cable adapter I want to use since I have more 3-pin fans that I want to connect here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004J3P658/ref=asc_df_B004J3P6585019078?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=shopzilla0d-20&ascsubtag=shopzilla_rev_185-20;14971362049052500338510070302008005&linkCode=df0&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B004J3P658 Or one like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007S3T4O0/ref=asc_df_B007S3T4O05019054?smid=A3GO5VFCNOM5I7&tag=shopz0d-20&ascsubtag=shopzilla_mp_1112-20;14971362218452543580910090302008005&linkCode=df0&creative=395129&creativeASIN=B007S3T4O0 Thank you very much in advance!

So I just watched one of the bitwit's video about pimping his fan's rig, and he did use custom cable as an extension to the ketchup & mustard cables. Is it really possible? So I can get rid of this bad colored cables on my black-grey rig without having to change my PSU.

Im planning on making a pc with a Sea Sonic psu but the only way for me to have the cables I want for it from cavle mod is to buy extention cables or make my own. Hello So Bit Fenix has now sleeved cables for Be Quiet Powersupplies. I would like to have the BitFenix Alchemy 2.0 PSU Cable Kit, BQT-Series DPP (Orange) but i dont know if they work with the bequiet Powerzone 850W. Only Dark Power Pro 10 and 11 are listed as compatible. But since all are from be quiet i tought maybe they fit in the Power Zone as well. Regards Kajamu

So a bit of background information or actually a lot... I built a computer case made completely out of plexiglass and I've decided to do a hardline watercooling set up with cable sleeving. I have already planned out the watercooling, but I've come across a complication with the cable modding part of my project. I was researching, and I found out that the pinouts for motherboards are all the same but the pinouts for the power supply are not. There is a spare fully modular power supply that I was going to custom length and sleeve each wire. But when i think about it, it's a see-through case, so its not going to look perfectly neat and squared because the wires will crisscross and look tangled since the pinouts aren't the same. I know it seems like an insignificant detail, but even small details bothers me. Also I have no previous cable modding experience and this will be my first attempt. So here's my questions... Is there a ATX fully modular power supply out there that has the same exact pinouts as a motherboard? Is there any suggestions you have that I could neatly work around it and/or other ways of sleeving? I guess I could sleeve the whole cable instead of each wire but it just doesn't look as good.

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm making a black and white build. I'll be using a single R9 390 Sapphire (2 x 8 pin) and i7-6700K (so that means 24 pin and 8 pin) I'll be going for some nice white cables, to add that bit of uniqueness and aesthetic And I need some help, for I am not good at this: Should I go with extensions or cables? What are the pros and cons? What brand should I go with? The brand of my PSU (Corsair)? Will te be cheaper for me to sleeve them myself? (Note I am clumsy) Will an 8 pin EPS also work for the CPU? (My Motherboard, the MSI Z170A Krait, says it needs an 8 pin ATX) Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance! EDIT: forgot to mention the colour

I have a non-modular power supply and the cables are almost entirely sleeved up until the connectors. at the very end the cables are showing and they are all multiple colors and in general are really ugly. Is there any way i can paint them black? would it work if i just taped off the connectors and sleeve and spry painted them? any tips are appreciated!

Hey! I'm planning on buying a white Corsair 760T case and wanted to get some white sleeved psu cables to make the interier look nicer. My current PSU is a XFX Pro 1050W black edition. I've been looking around the web and have read that Seasonic make the power supplies for XFX and have found this cable kit which says it works on some Seasonic PSUs. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-051-CM My first question would be, would the cables work for my power supply? I've also been looking at these sleeved cables on icemodz.com which i absolutely love the look of! They look a lot brighter than the kit on overclockers (but that may just be because of the camera used) but what really appeals to me is the white connectors. http://www.icemodz.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/SAM_3810_Edited.jpg Another question I have is should I just buy the cables I need or buy a kit? Since I don't know what type of cables would work in my PSU I havent been able to search for single cables. Would I need to buy a new PSU? Any tips and suggestions on what to buy would be very much appreciated!

This is a question, after asking about WC an Air 540.. I realized how nice ofi a case it could be if you could show off both compartment sides. Like you can in acrylic cases. However, unlike acrylic cases I think it would be interesting to see a case where the cables could be routed under neath a case designed like this. In essence you would have a floor and a sub floor to your Air 540. In between the hard drive cages you would have the holes to route your WC Tubes, and another set to route the wires. This should allow a good clean setup on both sides of a case. Allowing your reservoir to be shown as well I think this also would work even better in a haf stacker series. The con to using that case to me is how the size sort of looses the appeal to some. From being "too big" You could have two options for the following., SSD Mounting Options: Back side behind the motherboard using short SATA patch cables Sub flooring compartment SSD mounting along the roof of the sub floor or allowing them to be stacked. Cabling options. Being able to take off either side panel exposing the subflooring compartment. For standard ATX cases you could lay it down on the side, and it would have to be able to take off the bottom or extend the bottom to have room to route the cables and run your tubing.. The Case would be modular based off the lanboy, rather than having top or bottom PSU mounting options, it can go in the front bottom or the back bottom depending on the length of chords you'd want for your Molex and sata connectors. The Psu wouldd dependd on where you would want your rads and reservoir located. In my opinion, todays tank options are 5.25 bays, top of a case, bottom of a case or a modded case. I think it be awesome if we could purchase original market released cases without modding them to have modular versatility like the Antec Lanboy, the space and compartment seperation like the Air 540, with the HDD/SSD options of the Corsair 950d. Without having to pay the price for the versaitility of the haf stacker 935 Having all of these features in one solid case! Let me know what you think of this Dr. Frankenstein case.. Which is what I would probably call it. I hope this gets someone attention that likes modding cases to make it come alive as an option.
