Hi All! I have a 3090 (MSI GAMING X TRIO) that been sitting in storage for a bit and have put it into a new PC. When under a graphically intensive load, there is a very loud buzzing, almost sizzling sound that comes from the GPU. Starts off low when opening a game, but gets loud when in game. Does this sound like coil whine or something more sinister? I’ve attached a sound recording, you will need to turn up volume to hear it. https://temp-file.org/VBeGkamO9nI0b9s/file

I posted about this on reddit but no one ever responded, so I'm hoping someone here might have advice. My aio liquid cooler has been buzzing ever since I sat my computer on its side to replace the cpu. Hwmonitor says the pump is running at normal rpm and temperatures seem normal enough. Video links on google drive and further details on in the reddit post.

I've recently gotten some very quiet case fans, and this is the first time that I've noticed that the constant static buzzing sound that my PC has always made is not a sound of my case fans. at first I thought it could be the PSU but that's not where the noise is coming from. Upon further inspection, I can tell that the noise is coming from my CPU air cooler heatsink, or possibly my CPU. I've tested that it's not my cooler fan making the noise, and the cable for that fan is not interfering with anything.

Hey everyone, I was playing Fortnite the other day and this very annoying buzzing started coming from my computer, not too loud, but annoying. it would buzz, then it would start throbbing and continue to make this annoying noise. And it only happens when I open Fortnite. Every other game, it dosen’t make the noise. And the second I close Fortnite, it stops. I took my side panel off and it’s sounds like it’s coming from my cpu cooler. But I did recently get a new GPU in the last week. Anyways, if anyone knows what this is and a fix, that would be awesome, Thanks.

I just bought an Aorus P850 around 20days (1/11), last night when i shut down the PC some loud buzzing noise came out of the psu, turn off psu switch and it still there only disappear when i pull the plug on the wall (i plug pc and monitor into an outlet and from that outlet go to the wall), at first i change the oulet but still on the same wall the noise still there, when i change to difference wall the noice stop (my room have 2 wall outlet on 2 walls), but when i go back to the old wall around 20-30 minutes later the noise came back (PC still off only psu switch turn on), so is it because the wall or my psu have problem, if it because the wall should i use a power stabilizer for my pc ?

Happy new year everyone! I have a problem with my PSU unit. It is EVGA Nex650g 80+ Gold rated. It makes barely audible electrical noises. Does it when idle and under load. Doesn't make it continuously, it is arythmic, comes and goes, i have a video, if you ignore fan noise, it will be audible. What may be the problem? Thanks in advance. VID-20210101-WA0000.mp4

I have coil whine in my headset through the front audio panel. The back panel is completely normal but it's a pain to use it since it's under the desk. I tried V-Sync in Minecraft, Rocket League and other BUT it didn't work. What can i do without replacing my 1 day old Strix GTX 950?

Problem: Newly Built PC Freezes when I load a game (in this case Fortnite) and sometimes during productivity (booting Fortnite is my sure-fire way to force the problem). Sometimes I can make it in-game and play for a bit, other times it freezes on the lobby screen. When the PC freezes the Audio stops, the display is stuck on the last displayed frame, no inputs can be made (keyboard/mouse) the PC doesn't power down unless I force shutdown with the power button. The PC is usually fine for at least an hour if just browsing internet. I have: Updated all drivers, bios, etc to the latest version for all my hardware. Tried reinstalling and resetting windows both from local and cloud Cleared CMOS Tried stressing CPU, GPU, Memory, no issues. I have also watched the temps and utilisation during a freeze and both CPU and GPU they were only around 50 Celsius Tried running with one stick of RAM, two sticks of RAM, having XMP on and off, changing my SSD to a different M.2 slot. Tried upgrading to Windows 11 (was desperate, drivers were up to date for this as well) Not overclocked CPU or GPU, everything is running as stock, except for turning XMP on and off for memory The only consistency I see is that when I load Fortnite my PSU starts buzzing, I don't believe it's coil whine, it's an electrical buzz (recordings attached) I am in Japan and the PSU is grounded using the ground wire. This only happens when loading Fortnite, not during productivity, I have a comparison file for when the PSU isnt buzzing. The buzzing stops when the freeze happens. Current OS: Win 11 Pro 64 bit System: CPU: i7-12700 Mobo: Asrock H670M-itx (latest BIOS Ver. 7.02) GPU: Palit Gamerock 3080 10GB (3*8-pin, I have two cables coming from PSU, both cables are one 8-pin to two 6+2 pin connectors, one cable has both the 6+2 being used, the other just one of the 6+2) RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 3600MHz CL16 2*16GB PSU: FSP Dagger Pro SFX 850W SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2 Cooler: Lian-Li Galahad 240mm AIO Case: Lian-Li Q58 This is the first build I've done alone and I am absolutely stumped, I have scoured the internet for a solution but nothing has worked T^T Please, any help would be greatly appreciated! Hi, I'm having a hard time describing the problem I have with my 5.1 home theater setup but here it goes : During a loud/high note part of someone talking, I will hear like a resonating sound/vibration/buzz, likes it's peaking but on the high frequency only, it's not like a harsh cut off like audio peaking would normally sound i thnink? With the little research I was able to do, I think the problem might be that the tweeter of the speaker is broken or something like that, but I can't seem to be able to remove the grill to check. So I'm thinking of buying only a new center channel speaker to replace it and hope it solves my proble. Or do I need to buy like a whole new set of 5.1 speakers? The center speaker is (and the rest of the set) : Samsung PS-AC720s My AV receiver that I bought like a year or two ago (recommandation from this forum!) : Yamaha AX-V385 I'm thinking of grabing the Sony SS-CS8 center channel speaker since there's currently a deal on it for cyber monday. I guess I could also buy the matching left and right channel speakers to match with it if I really need to, but I hope I could at least keep the surround sound ones and the subwoofer. Thanks, hope someone can help me!

Hello, so I recently upgraded my system and I got a AK 620 as my CPU cooler. The Cooling is good enough and I don't get thermal throttled. But recently It has started to make quite loud buzzing noise at around 1200-1300 RPM. Other than that the sound cannot be heard. My question is could it be just a fan rubbing against the fins or something like that or is the fan faulty?

Hi there, This graphics card is two days old and upon putting the fans to 100% a very strange high pitch noise occurs. The noise is present from about 70% onwards which changes pitch as the fan gets faster. Please see the video link Ive posted, I cant find any other posts with a similar noise. The card is a Gigabyte RTX2070 Windforce 2x. Thank you! Link: https://youtu.be/2afj6laJLS8

sound Audio Static Issues on windows 10
TheJordandi01 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello i have recently noticed my windows 10 desktop is producing static noises when adjusting volume. the static is very slight but when going from 0-100 volume you can notice it I have used other headsets and the problem persists and even uninstalled the realtek audio drivers and reinstalled. I have even unplugged front audio to test the motherboard audio ports and the same thing happens and jumped on my surface pro 4 to test the audio but wont happen on the surface pro. im sure its my motherboard and if so how can i fix it. Hi everyone! I just put together a new build (specs below) and I'm having some growing pains. When I'm using my headset (Razer Kraken), everything will work fine until I open up a game (lets say Destiny 2) and then I'll get this weird feedback/static noise in my headset. The noise can be heard over discord as well with people I'm in a call with. The headset has a single 3.5mm cable that I attach to splitter and put into my MB jacks on the back. It recognizes each end of my splitter as microphone and an audio out respectively and works over discord (though it is a bit quiet). So far I've tried using the front audio port, not using the splitter, restarting the computer, checked for updates to discord, the game in question at the time and my drivers, running game audio out of my speakers while still using the headset for discord (game sound went to speaker but the sound still appeared in the headset) and restarting to no avail. One thing of note is that when the game is minimized or behind say, a full screen google chrome window, the sound is diminished. It's definitely still present but not near as strong. When all sound is running through the speakers, there is no problem whatsoever. I'm really not sure what's going on here, any help would be appreciated. The problem : Stuttering in games every 1 second, its a minor stutter almost like a skip or hiccup, every 1 second. OS : Win 10 64 Specs : in my signature, PSU 520w seasonic Bios : Most recent F20 version on the H110M-A by gigabyte That was following colonel mortis' always include thingy, if you guys want more info here is a ramble part. So I noticed recently in my games a weird stutter that happens like every 1 second, I can record footage but it is very hard to see unless you are doing the gaming yourself, its super annoying, and I also noticed a buzzing sound very very quiet coming from the GPU that syncs with the stutters, so every time it stutters, the sound stops briefly, then goes again. Its like a tiny little bee buzz but higher pitched, can't record it because case fans are too loud, should I unplug them and try to record the sound? Note this issue is only while gaming. Footage, also note the buzzing sound I mentioned.

Hi lately when my fps gets over 40 my power supply starts buzzing. It's a PC power and cooling quad 750 , I have had it a while. Current system is an i5 4670k@4.4ghz ,16gb gskill ripjaws 1600 ddr3, MSI z87 mobo, gigabyte GTX 1070 g1 gaming. Voltages and temperatures are great, GPU under 64c and CPU under 60c with furmark and Aida 64 simultaneous. This is the sound it's making only under 3d loads and I did isolate the video card and it's not the culprit. If anyone has some input please let me know 2017_03_25_23_15_05.mp3

Hi guys. I started having random crashes a few months ago, but didn't do anything because I thought it's not that bad (and I'm lazy). But in the last few days it happened like 3 times a day and I really don't know what's causing this. I have only experienced it while doing light tasks, like watching Youtube. Well, rather only while watching YouTube. Maybe that's because I watch videos all the time, but it never has happened to me while gaming or while doing any other high-performance tasks. My screen just goes black and I hear a buzzing noise, which is just the last ~20ms of sound from the video, just over and over again. Usually it will just stay like that, but rarely it goes back to the video. I have to kill the PC by pressing the power button for 5 seconds, a simple click doesn't work. Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anybody know how to fix it? I have no idea Thanks in advance

After a lot of testing i figured out that whats causing my pc to hang always at startup after or during the windows chime and than randomly throughout the day is something in my storage HDD. I have done a Microsoft error check with no errors found. I am hoping there is a way for me figure this out that doesn't involve loosing all my media. Testing done: Booted up in safe mode no issue Booted up with just OS SSD no issue Booted up with all drives except HDD no issue Booted up with replaced empty HDD no issue Booted up with Current setup issue Booted up with OS SSD and HDD issue Booted up with other sata cable and power cable from a different drive issue

Good day everyone! I bought a Seasonic M12II 620W Evo 80+ Bronze Fully Modular PSU together with the other parts last week. I've noticed that sometimes (twice already) it makes a short (1-2 seconds) crackling/buzzing sound when I toggled on/off the psu switch. PC boots and loads windows 10 normally and does not produce any weird/annoying sounds while running. Haven't tried to stress test the whole unit yet and check if the crackling/buzzing sound will occur for a long period. I've read posts saying that it's coming from a relay in the psu and its normal. Others say it's coil whine or a symptom of a faulty psu. The sound just occurs when toggling the psu switch. PSU directly plugged into wall outlet but Im planning to buy an ups/avr this coming Saturday. Is it really normal? Thank you! So as the title states there is a faint buzzing sound that I can hear sometimes when no music or sounds are playing (I'm using a Qpad QH-90). The strange thing is, the buzzing sound stops when I touch the metal part of my keyboard (Corsar k70). Does anyone know what causes this and if it can be fixed?

Hi audio people. I bought a Behringer Xenyx Q502 mixer a couple months ago, so that I could plug in the headphone out from my guitar amp and my PC's audio, so I could hear both through my headphones at the same time. It was the only reasonably priced mixer with a stereo output I could find (about $50 US). However, I've stopped using it recently because it experienced awful buzzing, which seems to be interference coming from the internal DAC on my motherboard. I say it's the board and not the mixer because the buzzing happens specifically when I move the mouse or scroll up and down, as well as when I launch an GPU intensive application. So my question is, how do I solve this in the cheapest way possible? This mixer has some other issues as well such as the volume being extremely low on everything anyways, so I'd love to replace it. However I can't find any other mixer that fits my needs for a similar price, do you guys know of one? Or perhaps I should go with an internal PCIe DAC, or an external one? Are there any in my price range that wouldn't be a quality downgrade from the one on my motherboard (ASRock Purity Sound 2, Realtek ALC1150 Codec)?

I'll keep it short. There's a TL;DR if you want. 3 years ago I constructed my own PC. In that time, most things have been fine. The graphics card died (random freezes, disconnecting) so I had to buy a new one (for £400 :o) and now something has happened that I need some guidance on. Throughout those 3 years, odd things have happened here and there. 1.The headset would flash on and off occasionally. 2. restarting the PC ALWAYS ensured the hard drive wouldn't be recognised, only turning the computer fully off and on made it recognisable, 3. buying a new, advanced keyboard with more than two USB plugs blue-screened my PC when browsing the internet. Unplugging one of the two USB's stopped the bluescreen. (razer chroma v2) 4. The wireless internet was incredibly unstable. Would cut out once every 30 seconds. Another day it would be crystal clear speeds. Buying a new wireless dongle, switching wireless channels etc. never helped. Throughout this time I never heard any weird noises other than my case vibrating or a slight hissing from my graphics card. Never an issue, however: TL;DR Now, here's the big issue of recent: I heard LOUD buzzing coming from my power supply, last night. It randomly begun while playing Skyrim. I turned off my pc as a result. When attempting to turn it on VIA THE WALL, it caused a surge that tripped half the house. I tried a further 3 times, causing a house-wide trip switch every attempt at turning on the PC at the wall. The next morning, I could turn on the switch at the wall, and my monitor and speakers would light up, but the PC itself won't turn on. What has happened? I assume the power supply is dead, and I will be RMA'ing it. But if it turns out all my parts are damaged, what can I do? If my parts aren't damaged, perhaps it's worth upgrading the lot anyway in case the 3 years have aged anything prematurely? Thoughts?

Hi guys. So basically on my newly built pc I have a buzzing noise from my gpu. It only happens under certain loads and happens at anything above 50fps. I have already replaced the psu three times and the gpu twice and I get the exact same noise still. I'm not curious if you guys think this could be a motherboard or cpu setting problem? I'm adiment that isn't coil my video as both the gigabyte g1 1080 and asus rog strix 1070 make the exact sound under exact conditions. I also swapped my psu for a different make an although the sound was slightly quieter it still had the sound. My setup is: Ryzen 7 1700 Msi b350 Tomahawk Arctic Asus rog strix 1070 Ballistic ram 16gb 2400 Evga g2 650w gold+ Now I know people have issues with power saving options etc especially on Intel so could there be a hidden setting on Ryzen that could be causing the issue? I've tried some of the settings and power settings but not sure if i have all of them. Ive also got the most up to date bios. Or maybe I should now just try replacing the mobo? I've heard the msi b350s can be crap. Thanks guys.

Hey guys, so i've noticed a wierd buzzing noise from the PC, it only occurs when playing games. At first, i suspected it was coming from my CPU fans, but after a bit of testing, i'm quite sure it dosen't. As far as i can hear, it comes directly from the GPU. However, when i benchmark the GPU of screen, no buzzing sound occurs? Does anybody know why? Thanks.

I came home today only to find that my Dell R710 home lab started to create a very noticeable buzz. I shut it down and I found that the buzz is coming from both of the 570w power supplies. I've had the server for a couple months and I have never had this buzz coming from it. Given that I sit about 6 feet away from it, the buzz is considerably loud. Attached is a video from my phone of the buzz itself. Should I be worried? Should I just let it be? Thanks in advance! Server buzz.mp4
