Hi all, I’m looking to build a PC and have been driving myself bonkers looking at cases. I have it narrowed to an airflow case and the 3 I’ve come to like are the lian li 216, Masterbox TD500 mesh and the Meshify 2 compact. What are your thoughts on these? Have other recommendations? Great! Here are the criteria. 1) sub $250; 2) ATX Mobo; 3) accommodates 240mm gpu; 4) handle up to 260mm cpu cooler Thanks

Hey Everyone! While looking at Black Friday deals I found both a GIGABYTE 3060 with 12GB of VRAM and a MSI 4060 with 8GB of VRAM around similar prices. I currently have a 2060. My most common played games are: Cities Skylines 2, Space Engineers, Age of Empires, and Transport Fever 2. While I do play FPS games, I’m less concerned with getting the most frames in those game as I just play casually. I also do video editing as part of my job, so I’m not sure if having more VRAM will affect rendering performance. I also run a Ryzen 9 3900X Thank you in advance for your help. And to all the Americans here, I hope you had a good thanksgiving!

Hello everyone. I leave below a configuration for a gaming PC to play games in 1080p. I have a budget of about 2000€ (and must include mouse, keyboard and monitor in addition to the case with hardware). I live in Italy so I prefer to buy in a shop like amazon.it. I wanted to know if there was anything to improve or if this configuration is okay. In any case, please leave me your feedback. 1556,5€ CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-13600K MOBO: ASUS PRIME B760M-A-CSM RAM: Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MT/s CASE: Corsair Icue 4000X Rgb Case Atx Mid-Tower COOLING: Thermalright Frozen Notte 240 BLACK ARGB MEMORIA: WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB M.2 2280 GPU: 4060 TI PSU: NZXT-C750 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PrkFPF

Budget (including currency): 10,000 usd Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: HIGH speed Trading Dealing with multiple screen setups and multi depth data levels + 2k and 4k high fps gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 2k 240 and 4k 144 hz Which cpu should i go for . i do plan on connecting my pc to an 8k Tv , asus 2k 27 240 hz monitor and some other screen possibly . right now i am planning on a ryzen 9 7950 x3d or 139000ks Do let me know if other cpus would fare better in my condition , (workstation cpus woud do if they can match game performance as welll) provided i wont necessarily be gaming at 8k and generally speaking trading platforms prefer single thread performance than multi , even though some others dont . my purpose of trading can be solved in a high end gaming laptop too , but i wish to have the best to avoid slippages and many other faults of a lesser system , ALSO I WANT TO GAME AT 2KKKK or even 4KKKKK 240 hz given new monitors of asus are coming out in the next q1 . Also could you list me out some top of the line components for such a pc (performance wise ). company and model speific guidance is required . Hey, first time posting in a forums really and just wanted to know something, I have googled but I keep getting back circled back to the same question. I am considering upgrading in the next few days to a 6700xt GPU as well as a Ryzen 5 5600x CPU, I will be keeping the other parts ofc as they do not really need replacing. My current build is: Ryzen 5 3600 2x8gb Ram sticks b450 tomahawk max mobo 1660 super GPU Lian lia 2 case (I can't remember the name) PSU is Corsair RM550x (550 watts) 5 RGB fans Standalone mic (Desk mic) 3 storage drives 1 SSD 120gb for windows. 1 M.2 Nvme SSD 1TB, and 1, 4TB HDD. 2 monitors connected (assuming monitors just run off of gpu power anyway) And your typical peripherals. My question is would my current PSU be good enough and run safely enough to keep it the same and still swap out my old parts (6700XT and a Ryzen 5 5600x) I did look on PC part picker it said 450w min, I was told before just add 100w to any build and you'll be fine with that PSU wattage, I will not be overclocking as I have 0 interest in it, I would spend money on a 650w PSU but I really do not want to be spending the price that it is currently, I did however bump in a Corsair CV650 or something which was £65 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Non-Modular-Continuous-Low-Noise-Sleeving/dp/B08YK4ZQ54/ref=sr_1_16?adgrpid=70296135988&hvadid=310660856560&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1007147&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=13821383176776502663&hvtargid=kwd-581968574378&hydadcr=19081_1751922&keywords=corsair+psu&qid=1689032659&sr=8-16) I just want to know if 550w would be more than enough to run the new setup, my pc is like 4 years old and I really need to upgrade my gpu as games recently are becoming very hungry for ram and I can see my gpu falling behind on the latest released games, thank you for your time <3, as I said first forum post hopefully was not too bad.

Budget (including currency): unknown Country: Japan Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Basic gaming and school work Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): honestly as long as it works nothing crazy, I've an old 2010 Asus laptop or 2010 MacBook pro I could get away with giving them but idk... So I just moved to Japan with my kids and while they can game on their switches (handme downs) and on the PS4 (also a handme down) I figured they will need a gaming/school pc. Plan on homeschooling at least until they learn Japanese and send them out in town for school ( boy and girl, ages 7 and 8). My biggest issue is what type of setup do I get them? Like should they have laptops so if we want to travel they have access? Do I do virtual machines, or dedicated setups for each? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I'm currently in the process of planning a high-performance NAS setup for my needs and would appreciate some feedback on the components that I have selected. Here is the list of components that I have chosen: Case: iStarUSA M-4160-ATX Motherboard: ASUS WS C422 PRO/SE RAM: Micron MTA9ASF2G72PZ-3G2R (64GB) PSU: Corsair RM1000X HDD: Seagate IronWolf 16TB NAS (x20) NVME Cache: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB Switch: Ubiquiti Ubnt Unifi Switch 24 UPS: Apc SMC1500IC 1500VA Shelter: APC Ar7721 Vertical I'm mainly concerned about whether these components are compatible with each other and if there are any potential issues that I may have overlooked. Additionally, I would appreciate any feedback on whether these components are well-suited for a high-performance NAS setup, and if there are any alternative components that may be worth considering. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi everyone, I have an idea for a build using an M1 Mac Studio with an EGPU. This build is because I work on Mac and don't want to keep switching computers to play games after work. So I'm deciding to keep it all in one build, have a small form factor, and change the OS when I want to play. I know this approach is expensive and easier to build a PC, but I don't want to have another entire computer to maintain. My question is would it work on the windows dual boot side? And would it increase performance enough to play high-end games Budget (including currency): 3K (3000 USD) Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Work, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, any high-end game that requires performance really I have an extensive steam library. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Razor Core X EGPU enclosure: https://www.razer.com/gaming-egpus/razer-core-x/RC21-01310200-R3U1 MSI Geoforce RTX 4070 Ti: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-RTX-4070-12G/dp/B0BNWBJ8Z6/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2KT979PUAFK3N&keywords=4070&qid=1679954969&s=electronics&sprefix=4070%2Celectronics%2C108&sr=1-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.2b70bf2b-6730-4ccf-ab97-eb60747b8daf M1 Mac Studio: https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/mac-studio

So I have been paying attention in detail to computers for about 5 years years now, built my pc about 4 years ago and have been content with it. I am now gonna be buying and building a new system soon and wanted some input from people are more knowledgeable than me. I haven’t really got a budget, I’m in high school, I have already saved a large amount of money for college, I have a job that pays me well for what I do, and I got an incredibly large amount of financial aid from universities so luckily I will not have to be worrying about that so I thought I would spend my disposable income now on something I could use for the next 7-8 years. I have been doing some researching and haven’t really been able to decide what I want to do in the GPU and CPU departments but I have narrowed it down to the options in the topic name. For the CPUs I am really just tempted to get the 7950x3d just for the best performance but was wondering if there are any drawbacks and if the price/performance is ridiculously better on the other options where it would be stupid not to take advantage of them? Then with the GPUs I really am unsure what to get because it is a $150 difference but the vram on the xtx is 8 gbs more even though it is cheaper i have also seen that the drivers are really progressing so that is intriguing as well, but is there really any reason I shouldn’t or just a definitive reason to get a 4080. I don’t really have a big draw to rt but I have a 2060 super and raytracing on the 20 series cards was kind of unserious, is it that much better? Just thought about this on my part list I will attach is there any significant benefits to getting like. A taichi compared to the board I have on this? Anyways I’m attaching my part list to this and am looking for any feedback anyone wants to give from the ram latency to the case all is appreciated and welcome. Have a good rest of your day! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TacticalFlamingo1151/saved/DvbtCJ

OK. this is a super frustrating situation, I'll try and put all the facts up here logically. BUILD Asrock B660M-ITX Intel i5-12400F 2X8GB DDR4R Thermaltake 600W SFX PSU NVME BOOT SSD GTX 560 GPU (placeholder) PC works per perfectly fine. However, obviously the GPU seems odd, thats because it's only there because the intended GPU won't post. I bought an RX 6700 as it is clearly the best bang for buck on Australia at $450. The initial build seemed to go OK with the first RX 6700. New PC booted, installed Windows 11, but soon I was getting GPU errors, and the audio via HDMI was crackling and awful. I RMA'ed that card, assuming a faulty product, but the replacement wouldn't even boot! I took the lot to my local PC repairer, and we tried the following. Put new GPU in identical PC. but with older cpu/mobo (about 5 years old). confirming the card worked fine with the same PSU. Swapped the PSU into my case, no boot Updated BIOS to latest 7.02, no boot. Reset BIOS. no boot. Replaced RX 6700 with GTX560, boots fine. The system draw is well under 600W (RX 6700 draws 175W) and posted fine with the very same PSU. Basically, I'm stumped...why would a known-working GPU NOT work on a known working PC? Please, can repliers avoid blaming: Windows 11 Intel AMD Drivers AMD Hardware As these types of bias-based opinions are of no help. Thanks.

Now that pricing for many components have skyrocketed, upgrading to new parts often doesn't make a lot of sense financially. What older hardware are you running, and what were you hoping to upgrade to last/this/next year? Currently running this: CPU - i7 2700k @ 4.4Ghz Mobo - Asus P8Z77-V RAM - 16GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz (mixed Kingston Valueram & Corsair LPX) GPU - EVGA 970 FTW PSU - Seasonic Focus Plus 750 Gold I had planned to save my PSU from my current build and create a decent ~€1200-€1500 ($1400-$1800) new gaming PC. Those 4 CPU cores are showing their age, and the 970 was great for 1080p 144hz in 2017. If prices hadn't gone up this far, I'd probably go for something like a RTX 3070 & R7 5800X, but I guess I can wait another few years.

Currently I have my rig sitting with the side panel off to allow for two fans to point directly at the back plate of the 3090 to cool the vrm. Passive cooling isn’t enough when I turn the card over to mining Bitcoin in between gaming sessions. Currently this works fine giving the back extra airflow and cooling to keep the vrm from thermal throttling. I’m moving my rig into a planned 10 fan o11 dynamic xl in the next week or 2 and wanted some advice or ideas any one might have to keep this level if cooling up. I plan to have 6 intake fans (3 bottom and 3 on the front (which is also the side)) and 4 exhaust (1 rear 3 through a CLC radiator top) I've considered mounting the gpu vertically to make use of the 3 bottom fans but I’m now realising the pcie riser cable will block the area of the card most needing the direct airflow (directly behind the gpu/over the pcie slot). I’m looking for ideas or pci gen 4 risers that don’t restrict the bottom fans airflow or ways to mount up to another 3 fans in the case to direct air over the back plate directly. Without sacrificing too much aesthetic if possible.

$1000 to build a decent, best-bang-for-the-buck PC build for 2021. I live in Illinois, and I will be using it for games (Roblox, fortnite, Minecraft, cs-go, Microsoft flight sim) and for school (multitasking + zoom) and some AI photo enhancer programs (topaz gigapixel AI. I only want the tower, I have a wireless mouse and keyboard, pair of speakers, headphones, 1080p 60hz monitor, and I will salvage a dram-less 250gb SSD, 1tb 7200rpm drive, and 6tb 5400 drives. For the motherboard you could think about throwing in an m.2 WiFi and Bluetooth built in. Thanks. I am upgrading from a pentium with no gpu just onboard graphics. And I’ll play on 1080p 60fps and I will consider buying those parts on January 2022. Try making the parts branded, with a fully modular psu .

Hi community, I've tried looking everywhere else online but can't seem to find anything definitive. To preface the issue, note that I made sure that the RAM kit is one that's fully validated/certified by both G.Skill and MSI as compatible with this setup. After completing the build, installing the OS+drivers, and updating EVERYTHING to the latest stable versions, the PC ran perfectly fine (everything in BIOS is default). After ensuring that everything is stable, I enabled the XMP profile in BIOS (after all, that's specifically why I decided to get the fastest validated kit I could afford), then rebooted. System ran fine for maybe a minute or two, then suddenly exhibited a staticy-crosshatch/checkerboard pattern (sorry, best way I can describe it) onscreen, then locked up, then BSOD/reboot - after which it came back up in Safe mode. I figured it was a glitch or something so I simply rebooted. Upon restart, pretty much the same thing happened. Most of the similar-sounding issues I found online suggested reseating the RAM and then running memtest86. I went back into BIOS and set it back to defaults first, rebooted a few times to confirm that everything was stable again, then switched everything off and reseated the RAM. Then I booted into the memtest86 tester and ran it - twice. No issues found. Rebooted again (still at defaults) made sure everything was stable and working. Went back into BIOS an re-enabled XMP profile again - and ran in to the same issue as previously. I'm at a loss as to what the cause may be at this point. I know I can simply run with the memory at default speeds - but that rather defeats the purpose of getting this specific kit to begin with. Hoping the community here can throw me a bone, it will be GREATLY appreciated! (PS - I know someone's inevitably going to bring up the fact than an RX 570 GPU is a bottleneck anyway, so to just stick with the lower memory speed in that case. I assure you, that GPU is just a stopgap until things are more reasonable again.)

Budget (including currency): 1200 - 1400 euro Country: The Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FPS Shooters like Halo Infinite and Strategy games Other details Mouse and headphones are already there, only need a mechanical keyboard with a pricetag of about 60 euro. Resolution will be 1080p or 1440p depending on what monitor I will buy. Monitor won't be included in the budget but I'll appreciate any recommondations. Been a long time LTT subscriber. Watched and re-watched far too many PC build videos and streams, and now taking the dive myself after being ripped off by [A Prebuilt Provider] 10 years ago... So it's about time I opened this up to public critique and advice. I've done as much research as I can through LTT, GN, JTC and other dark corners of the web. I've been building the 'gaming fund' for quite some time after having to sell my desktop PC in favour of a MBP for work, giving up gaming etc. and now wanting to dive back in head first. The purpose of the PC is to build the best of the best (reasonably speaking) without being an idiot, by which I mean no Threadripper 3990X and dual 3090s as fun as that would be. The usage of the PC will be mainly on the gaming side to follow and stream Star Citizen (future proof as much as possible) as well as playing others. I also video edit/graphic design on the side so being able to handle BM raw footage is a plus. There's isn't really a budget although I do seem to sweat a little more when things head north of £6000 but with GPU's all over the place that seems to be a weekly fluctuation. Any advice or comments on compatibility would be greatly appreciated - as I've put my own (amateur) reasons for choice next to the parts. Thanks for all your help LTT peeps!
