I will be adding networking to my garage that is like 30-50ft away. I've heard direct burial rj45 is not advised as lightning/etc can damage all the equipment, so i have two options i could do [and am willing to do, to stay within unifi, which i'm comfortable with], and I'm curious which you all would choose OF these two. (also a question or two in red.) Option 1: Main house router (already have in house basement) - UDM PRO (Q1) Fiber, Direct attach cable (30m, to connect UDM PRO to Switch in garage) - https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/accessory-tech-cabling/collections/accessories-pro-direct-attach-cables/products/10-gbps-active-optical-cable?variant=uacc-aoc-sfp10-30m (Q2) Housing/protection for the buried fiber - ??? (I hear people use "smooth wall", but i don't know if a individual consumer can buy that without paying extraordinaire amounts; is there anything yall would recommend? i hear flexible pvc (schedule 40) won't stop water from going through, so i assume that's not good for fiber. Switch for in garage (where majority of devices will be connected) - https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/all-switching/products/usw-pro-24-poe (Q3) I assume not, but do i need one of these Optical Module's, for the UDM pro and Switch's SFP ports? (Or no, since the cable above says "SFP+ to SFP+ connector") - https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/switching-addons/collections/accessories-pro-long-distance-modules/products/1-gbps-bidirectional-single-mode-optical-module or https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/switching-addons/collections/accessories-pro-long-distance-modules/products/1-gbps-multi-mode-optical-module ? Option 2: Main house router (already have in house basement) - UDM PRO Building bridge - https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/all-wifi/products/ubb ethernet surge protector - https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/wifi-building-bridge/products/ethernet-surge-protector Switch for in garage (where majority of devices will be connected) - https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/all-switching/products/usw-pro-24-poe I assume option 1 will be cheaper, the fiber cable isn't that expensive, and unless the shielding/protection it needs in the ground is crazy expensive, i assume it would be cheaper but more manual labor intensive than option 2. I was worried about latency with the building bridge, but on videos i saw they were only getting like 5ms which mine is about the same. Please, Help me with Q1/Q2/Q3 please, and which option would be recommended between the two options, i would greatly appreciate it. Please understand, I am only slightly network literate, and that i would like to stay inside the unifi ecosystem, even if i'm paying more.

Budget (including currency): $500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Counter-Strike 2, Dark and Darker, Productivity in General Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Existing PC that would like to be upgrade - HP Z220 SFF Workstation PC Specs: CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1225 v2 (4 cores, 4 threads) GPU: Integrated CPU graphics PSU: OEM HP PSU 240W Storage: 1 TB HDD (I know an SATA SSD is needed to improve PC performance) Memory: 2x4gb DDRM RAM (8gb RAM total) @ 1600 MHz (I know this should be upgraded to 16gb or 32gb total) Motherboard: HP MOTHERBOARD (655840-001) Would be playing on 60 Hz @ 1920x1080 Native for any game that is not CS2 (CS2 I play on 1280x96 4:3 60 Hz), already have a monitor to handle this case usage. No peripherals are needed. When am I going to buy? When the price is right for me. Hello, I am looking to upgrade my HP Z220 SFF Workstation to play CS2 + Darker and Darker at 60+ FPS. I have been doing some research and was wondering what is the best part for both CPU and GPU for this setup. I was wondering if I could put a low profile GTX 1070 or RX 580 as a GPU, I wasn't too sure if 4 cores 4 threads for my current CPU would be a bottle neck or would need an upgrade here. Ideallly I'm just looking to upgrade only CPU, GPU, and Memory. I do not want to move my components to a new case or motherboard or PSU.

Hello, I am in the process of building a creator/gaming desktop with a full custom water cooling loop. My esthetic design is to have it look like a "hippy trippy" 1960s/1970s black light poster (or as close as possible). My case is pink and is from Mars Gaming and most of the internal components are either white or I have purchased 3 triple fans from Asia Horse that are pink with RGB. I also purchased a generic type of strimer that I may or may not wind up using. I have been doing most of my shopping at my local Micro Center store (I love that place! It beats the crap out of Best Buy which to me, seems to be doing a downward spiral). I was there the other day to get some guidance on the directionality of my loop tubing and to purchase some extra fittings. I discussed my vision for my build and the really excellent tech in their build area made a suggestion to me that I am starting to warm up to. The person suggested that I could purchase some UV lighting for the build. The case has 2 tempered glass panels so you would definitely see the UV lighting but at the time I was uncertain if it might be a bit "overkill" and instead of being "hippy trippy" it might make it look like a total LSD OD that is in serious need of a hit of Narcan! That being said, can someone please educate me about UV LED lighting? Can it make my build "glow like a black light poster"? I don't have any sort of understanding about how to set up black lights properly, I have one poster that I am the original owner of since the late 70s/early to mid 80s (bought it through Columbia House Record & Tape Club - yeah, remember that company? 13 titles for 1 penny deal back then!) that I STILL have NOT been able to get lit up properly....ROFL! I am providing a pic of the build as it is so far so that you can see the "look" of it. All comments greatfully (as opposed to Greatful Dead) appreciated! PEACE & LOVE! Remember those flowers for your hair! Sincerley, WonderWoman PS> I currently have pulled this apart to rearrance how/where the cooling loop will be installed. Micro Center suggested I install the radiator in the back compartment and where you see the radiator I install the third pink RGB Asia Horse triple fan and mount the pump/reservoir on either the bottom triple fan or the verticle triple fan. I am also going to be including my GPU in the loop so I ordered a block for it which should arrive on Saturday which is why you do not see my GPU card nor do you see my wiring. I will also be getting an iCUE Commander Pro XT from Corsair....haven't purchased it yet (will be ordering it later today or tomorrow).

Evening All, Began the creation of my first website, and I'm having trouble utilizing the tools that wix.com is providing me. I've invested in my domain, and the 1-year subscription to the service, and now I'm unsure if I should continue the service, being that I am having difficulty creating the appearance I am wanting. My question is this, is wix.com a good platform to build my website, or should I get a refund for the year subscription and put my money into something else? Is there a program that is better for website building? I just want to start creating my website right the first time around, and not have to change later in the year. thanks for your time!

Greetings to all! So I have been working on something like this for awhile. First off I want to build a motherboard from scratch. Now before all the negative people start blowing up the comments section about how "You can't do this" or "Its not feasible", I know this is going to take time and money. I GET THAT! What I want to know is 1. What is needed to make a custom motherboard in a specific design and size (I need it to fit inside a tube smaller then a mac pro trash can but bigger then a water bottle, Thats for width and height but for length I'm thinking between 10" - 14".) 2. I need it to have a modern day CPU (Intel) along with a GPU (Maybe one from a macbook pro, if you have ever seen one) and also laptop ram or SO-DIM (I think thats the technical term for it.) I will worry about cooling later. 3. Through all this I want to learn how to make and build a motherboard and understand how it works! So time for what I have found on my adventure! I know you can use sights like this to make small PCB'S: https://easyeda.com But the problem with that is I have no idea what half the stuff on a motherboard means and does. (Hence why I have number 3.) So I need you guys to lead me and help me. I have a place to design it, I have the time, I have the money, Now I just need you guys to lead me in the right direction! Hopefully you guys will have fun with this as I hope to as well! -wiredbrother P.S (I am a engineer I create custom cases. I have been designing a new type of computer and it should be very cool. One of the things it will include is a flexible screen. Anyways I am off, See you guys soon!)

Hey all, was wondering if yall could give me some insight as to why my pc wont boot.. I got a new build and everything was fine until recently, I had an asus rog 650a gaming wifi and updated bios which worked but i realized that, that version of the bios didn’t support my ram at 6000mhz so i went back to an earlier version that did support it, after i saw my pc booted and 6000mhz was possible I was happy and then left to go eat. I left my pc on and when I came back everything was so slow and choppy until my pc just shut off. Every time i turned it on it instantly turn back off after like .5 seconds. All fans and RGBs turn on for those .5 seconds but shut off right when my motherboard does too. I tried testing my all parts one by one and noticed everything was powering if my cpu was not plugged into the psu. based off peoples experience with this it was either the psu or the mobo. I got a new mobo x670e taichi. Problem still persisted. Doesnt turn on for more than a second if cpu plugged in. Replaced my psu, still the problem occurs. I tested a differenT cooler, problem still persisted. Im so lost and I hear its close to impossible to kill a cpu.. did i manage to do it?? Any help would be appreciated cpu - ryzen 9 7950X3D mobo- asus 670e taichi psu 1300W evga GT G rated no gpu as im using integrated graphics since i know its not a gpu issue

I would really like an Rtx 4000 series and an i7 processor at least, DDR5 RAM if possible since I'm planning on keeping the system for the next 5+ years. All recommendations are welcomed except for a case I'll buy one in a local store. Thanks in advance -

Budget : $2000-$5000 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Maya, Zbrush, C4D, Substance Painter/ Designer, and a variety of games. Other details : I'm trying to be flexible with my budget but I do need something fairly beefy. I'm a newbie that haven't been up to date with computer parts since my late build from 2016 but I've heard AMD has been doing well and also have a good amount of cores in their cpu for rendering. I was hoping to have a post to hear some part recommendations and maybe hear if someone knows if theres a to be announced thing coming. To help with which parts; I do art for Game Dev and Animation but I'll game on it n maybe take up streaming while I work since that's pretty fun.

This is the first PC I'm actually building (and my first post here on the LTT forums) and I installed the CPU, cooler, RAM and SSD on the MOBO before flashing the BIOS because I didn't have the flash drive at the time. Tried flashing the BIOS last night and it didn't work so I stripped all the components off so it was just the MOBO. Tried many different ways of fixing it and nothing has worked, so I've come here to beg for a solution.

I am starting planinng to build a real Nas to replace a fatigued raspbi 4 with an external 8tb WD disk, a 2tb time capsule (becoming more and more unreliable) and another 2tb wd Nas. I need something which could archive documents and media. Because a lot of these data are important to me I was thinking of at least a 4bay, raid 5 solution. I was thinking to begin with 6/8tb per disk. Nice to have is a media server feature (I've been using emby happily so far). Do you have any suggestion for any particular brand and model? Also, is there any suggestion of disks? Thanks a lot in advance!

Budget (including currency): 3000 € Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly Programming(Full Stack Dev), Rendering Videos on daVinci, a nice have would be also gaming, but that is not my prio Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This is the Link for my Beefy PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/k3YwdD I am working as a Full Stack Dev and as a side hustle I want to do Videos. So a faster PC would help alot. I am not doing any 3D rendering, just editing Videos and rendering it. A faster Booting time would be great and if Overclocking punches the number high, then i will go with it :). The Geforce 1080 is going to be ripped off from my old pc and attached to the new one. I need a Monitor that is absolutely astonishing in color, etc. So I think a good monitor is the LG 27GL850-B Mic & Audio Mic.: Blue Yeti beyerdynamics hooked in a Scarlett 2i2 A really good Camera on Budget which can record or used as Webcam via linking stuff and obs etc.. would be awesome If you click on the link than you will see that i have some compatibility issues. I was following the video where they compared amd vs intel beefed up pc's and they changed the Motherboard. Now i am have a compatibility issue :D. Well any suggestions on same or better parts is appreciated Thanks a lot. ps. Later i will upgrade my GPU to a more powerful one like the RTX 3080 or something. So nice would be if i had the parts that can handle a 3080 or even a more powerful one.
