Budget (including currency): 300/350€ Country: Austria but can purchase from Germany, France and Switzerland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Baldur’s gate 3, general gaming and ideally streaming. Other details : Got this computer as a gift from a family member and as I don’t have a lot of budget I’d like to focus on upgrading it to be usable rather than purchasing a whole new build Here is what it contains so far : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vBMJmD Needs : A graphics card, an SSD and probably a new power power supply that would all be usable for a new build down the line when I have money to buy other components. Thanks a lot for any advice you can give !

So 7 years ago i bought my first gaming PC, which has been working wonders for me pretty much ever since, with some minor problems here and there. Back then it could run everything smoothly at medium-high settings So with all the new releases of games having a higher and higher demand in terms of hardware, and the fact that i can't even run some of the new games on minimum settings. I think it's time for an upgrade. Especially given that my Graphics card keeps getting a code 43, which me and some others have been working on for days without a fix, so our conclusion is that it is it's way out. This is mainly my motivation for upgrading right now. So my current setup is as follow: Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 770 CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 @ 3.30 GHz RAM: 8 GB Motherboard: ASUSTeK B85M-G HDD: SATA WD10EZEC 64 mb Cache Power Supply: XFC PRO550W SSD: None Case: Cooler Master K350 Mid tower Case size CM LxWxH: 200x426x479 Case maximum compatibility VGA length: 315 MM Case maximum compatibility CPU Cooler height: 148 MM So, I am frankly, fucking broke, which is why I'm thinking about just upgrading the parts of my current build. Now I am no tech guru, but from all my work on cars I have learned one thing, and that is to do as much research as possible, which is why I'm creating this topic So what i was thinking was to upgrade to Geforce GTX 1650, because i found that it is significantly better than my current, and I know that it has 6 pins which fits my build that takes up to 8 pins, also I looked into a GTX 960. And then I learned that to prevent a bottleneck, the best CPU for this GPU would be a i3-8100, which is just a little better than what I currently have. So here comes my questions: Is it worth it to perfom these upgrades on such an old PC? Is it worth it to upgrade CPU also? Do you think it will make a big difference? Do you think I should also add and SSD and 8 GB of ram? To save money, is it a dumb idea to buy used GPU's? Budget (including currency): 400-500 dollars-ish Country: Denmark Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Dying Light 2, Diablo 2: Resurrected, GTA V, PUBG Thank you for your time

I just purchased a 5900X with a B550 Aorus Pro AC, along with a Fractal Design 760W ION+ and a Samsung 980 Pro. So I've been reading up a little more in case I missed some potential issues, there's a mix of old and new information and it's getting me paranoid, people's systems randomly shutting down after 2-3 months, people RMA-ing 2 processors in a row. You don't read that kind of thing about intel, so I'm scratching my head about canceling my order and replacing the motherboard and cpu for a 10900k and a z490/590. Yes I'm being paranoid, I know that, but is it unwarranted?

Recently found out that "White" tier power supply units are bad, don't last long and are prone to failure. Due to inexperience, when I first assembled this setup 4 years ago, I bought the Corsair VS650's 2018 version (black label), which was recommended by PC Part Picker's builds. For context, I primarily use my PC for gaming, but I don't overclock, nor do anything that goes beyond default settings. I also use the Ryzen Balanced power plan and a surge suppressor multi power socket to avoid frying my PSU in case of blackouts. I'm currently experiencing no PSU-related issues whatsoever; the setup worked flawlessly for years. However, given these warnings, I now fear that the VS650 might suddenly break and fry my hardware. Should I be worried that it might damage my hardware if and when it fails? In general, how would I know if a PSU is failing? I'm looking at the Corsair RM 650X Gold 80+ as a potential replacement, but I prefer a "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" approach, especially since these gold tier PSUs are expensive. System Configuration: Operating System: Windows 11 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, no overclock CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo (installed very recently) GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX with E7B86AMS.H50 (11/07/2019) BIOS RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 MHz (2x8), XMP enabled PSU: Corsair VS650 (2018) 650 W Monitor: BenQ GL2450 Case: Thermaltake V200 Tempered Glass (modded for proper airflow - front panel removed, mesh filter installed) Fans: 3x120mm Arctic P12 PWM PST CO intake front 1x120mm Thermaltake stock exhaust rear

Budget (including currency): 100€ (for the CPU cooler) Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming without overclocking Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): see below. Hello, I am new. Build summary I assembled my PC about 4 years ago. Unfortunately I cheaped out by never installing intake fans, as well as never investing in a third-party CPU cooler. The PC only had a rear exhaust fan and Ryzen's stock cooler. I also haven't reapplied the thermal paste since first assembly out of fear of breaking anything. To avoid any further damage,I installed 3 Arctic PWM PST CO fans in the front as intake. I also modded my case by removing the front panel and applying a mesh filter. I use AMD's Ryzen Balanced power plan. The PC runs the overwhelming majority of games at 80c with stable FPS, but I noticed occasional massive spikes in the 85-90c range. Seeing as the max temperature is listed by Ryzen Master as 95c, that can't be good. However, by some miracle I never had any performance issues whatsoever. Question 1: CPU Cooler upgrade I've been considering Noctua's NH-D15S and the ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO. Noctua coolers are often described as the best, but the latter is frequently suggested on pcpartpicker and is cheaper. Given the considerable price difference between the two and the fact that I don't overclock, I don't know which one I should get. Question 2: CPU and GPU upgrade due to potential temperature damage To address the elephant in the room, I assume that the CPU and GPU must be on their last legs due to the reasons listed above, even though I have no performance issues whatsoever at the moment. Should I just replace them with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3060 Ti in the future, or can I stick with my current setup and simply install a new cooler? For context, I don't play games at extreme settings, so long as they look nice. I'm content with 1080p 60 FPS for singleplayer games and 144 FPS in competitive online games (though the current monitor is 60Hz). System Configuration: Operating System: Windows 11 21H2, OS Build 22000.832 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, no overclock GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX with E7B86AMS.H50 (11/07/2019) BIOS RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 MHz (2x8) with XMP settings enabled PSU: Corsair VS650 (2018) 650 W Monitor: BenQ GL2450 Case: Thermaltake V200 Tempered Glass (modded for proper airflow - front panel removed, mesh filter installed) Fans: 3x120mm Arctic P12 PWM PST CO intake front, 1x120mm Thermaltake stock exhaust rear Clearance: CPU cooler height limitation: 160 mm VGA length limitation: 320 mm PSU length limitation: 160mm(With HDD Rack), 200mm(Without HDD Rack)

My name is Matt and I am finally getting around to building my first desktop from the ground up. I wanted to cover the basics first so here we go: Budget & Location The budget is more or less open. If there is a part that fits my goal I'll save for it and buy it. My goal is to stay in that 80% of cutting edge for about 50% of cost. My location is San Diego, Ca. My aim is to create a great base desktop that will last me 3 to 5 years and could allow for upgrades when needed or wanted. I plan on using it as my all around work rig. Right now I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro 16gb of RAM (which I hate) and that I use for accounting work. I use my Lenovo Yoga for my personal computer and to drive a separate screen of 24 inches at 1920 x1080 for web, media, music, podcasts, lots of Excel. I usually have two chrome windows open with about 100 tabs total, I have Hootsuite, Outlook, multiple Excel wookbooks open, Quickbooks, Word, VLC, and Media Monkey going. I use a Samsung tablet for coaching (videos of pole vault that I use either Coach's Eye or Kinovea to do the video analysis). Right now I have a startup for an application. The development is being done on my partner's computer. However, I would love to be able to create a virtual machine that he can dial into to do work. Monitors to be honest I really don't know. Right now I have 1 Dell 24 inch. I was watching Barnacles Nerdgasm's channel and saw him driving 3 50" screens. I think this is crazy overkill for me. However there is some allure to having the screen real estate. So maybe, 3X32 screens? Peripherals Right now I have a standard Microsoft keyboard, I have an hdmi port switch, a wacom pad, standard printer, I will be purchasing two gro-pro like camera's to use for the pole vault runway to capture video. It would be cool to figure out how to import this stuff. I am upgrading because I would like to condense some of this stuff to one machine. As of right now these are the parts I have running, Corsair 900d Asus Maximus Extreme vi Intel i7 479kk 32gb Corsair Vengeance pro series DDR3 4x8gb @2400 Samsung 850 Pro 128gb for the OS 10 Right now it's in Intel's S.M.A.R.T. configuration (pro/con to making it a boot drive?) 4 Hitachi drives at 2tb each. I am looking at Raid 10. (they are not initialized) Corsair ax1200 2 x AMD 6970's in Crossfire in slots 1 and 3 These are somethings I would like to upgrade: Sound Card - not gaming i do have a large audio library and I enjoy it. Speaker set up? powered? unpowered? Asus ROG Raidr ssd PCIe (I read someplace that in crossfire the ssd Raidr doesn't work) I know the AMD cards are old and outdated. I'm looking at 2x460/470/480 or 1050/1060/1070 but I am overwhelmed by GPU choices and scores etc... Screens Eventually for shits and giggles I would love to add water cooling (like Linus's overkill water cooled one)

Right now I have a prebuilt PC with an I5-4460, Gtx 750ti, a 1tb 7200rpm hdd and 1 stick of 8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram. I'm thinking of getting a RX 580(when they come back in stock...), a new case for my micro atx motherboard and getting 16gb of ddr3 ram. Is this a bad idea? I'm not sure if my cpu is capable for todays games but if I upgrade my cpu then I need a new motherboard and therefore new ddr4 ram. So basically I'm asking is it stupid to upgrade my pc with ddr3 ram and a RX 580? I also considered the new xbox one x but luckily I had a vivid dream/nightmare which warned me what would happen if I descended back to the peasant race!! lmao all jokes aside the difference between a new pc and upgrading the one I have now is around a $1000 and I'm just wondering if staying with a LGA 1150 socket is a bad idea for another few months or so.

Hi all! Winter is coming, and I'm considering upgrading my build, I'm pretty sure the GPU is obsolete, but I'm not sure about the CPU. I can still play most recent games without problems at 60-75fps like COD, BF4, PUBG.. btw, my actual build is: CPU: i5-3570K @4.0Ghz Motherboard: ASUS Maximus V Formula RAM: (2x4gb) Corsair Vengeance 1866 GPU: XFX R7970HGHz BE PSU: Enermax Revolution87+ 650w Storage: 500gb SSD + 4TB local HDD I already found a friend who's interested in buying my used GPU eventually. Build Plan Guidelines: 1. Budget & Location Italy, as for the budget I'm open, I have a job and some savings so I can afford to buy a new system like this one, I don't want to waste money if I can just upgrade 1-2 pieces tho.. but if you want a number I can say.. prolly ~600-700€ (considering I think I don't need to buy a new PSU, Storage or Case, I don't think I'll reach 1k. you tell me) 2. Aim Mostly gaming, COD, Battlefield, Star Citizen... (not DOTA or Overwatch graphic level). I also do some Blender Rendering as a hobby but so far my scenes are simple enough to be resolved with my GPU (but looks like almost everything works only with CUDAs... ) 3. Monitors 3 NEC MultiSync 1880SX, but I only game on the central one and I'm planning on getting a 16:9 if I can find a good prince now that 4K is reaching the consumer market

Hello so looking to do some upgrading for my PC but never built before looking for advice so i hopefully avoid any bad decisions/mistakes beforehand. Want to upgrade GPU from a gtx 680 to a rtx 2070 and add an NVME drive if possible for around $700. For both of these i want to know if they are compatible with my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H ATX) and case (Cooler Master HAF XM (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case) before i buy? For NVME do i need to buy an adapter for PCIe slot to make compatible? And is it even possible to switch that to be my new boot drive with the OS(windows)? for the 2070 what type of power supply would be adequate? Also just in general what upgrades would you recommend? Hello, I am about to buy a new PSU and i have few options, so please guys, i need your opinion. I have actually 2 options for now: Corsair TX850M COOLER MASTER V1000 80+ GOLD both are like new, CM is newer (and i know he's good seller also), also price difference is very low, so i don't care about price as long as one is better then other. Thanks in advance P.S it should power 9900k (stock for now) and 1080ti (oc), so in reality i might not need 1000w, but i do aim for top quality

Hello, I have a pretty old PC. My specs: -I7-930@3.1GHz (overclocked) CPU (4C/8T legacy CPU, stock 2,8GHz with turbo 3,0GHz for the ones that are not familiar with the specific processor) -2x2GB Kingston 1333MHz (downclocked to ~1000MHz because of the CPU) DDR3 RAM -Gigabyte Nvidia GT 240 GPU -Asus P6T SE Motherboard -2x500GB Seagate HDDs -A 650W PSU (don't remember the brand but it's trustworthy enough) it only has a six pin for a GPU though So, I want to build a PC but don't have enough money aside. I have ~200$ to upgrade this one. If I get another 2x2GB RAM for ~30-40 bucks, what is a good GPU option to run PUBG and Fortnite at low or even medium for less than 150$? Remember I only have one six pin for a GPU so no GPUs that require 8 pins or more than one 6pin. I have thought of buying a GTX 1050ti, but I want to be sure before doing something stupid. Thanks in advance. Oh and I would like my cpu to run under 80% if possible because it will run at 80°C if it is at 100% use and I'm not really comfy with that?

Hi there! I have been planning for a PC Upgrade with its main use for YouTube Content Creation which means heavy usage of Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro & OBS Studio. This is currently my build which I built in 2016. MoBo - Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION - MSI CPU - Intel Core i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz RAM - 2 x Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16GB 3000MHz C16 DDR4 Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 I mainly want to have a workstation PC which can have very fast Premiere Pro Render times and allows me to record in high FPS+Bitrate in OBS even when I have 3 monitors active. I am not very familiar with newer parts but I have heard Ryzen is better for Content creation? In that case, will I have to change the motherboard? Also would you recommend SLI? I would appreciate the help, I am fine with high end parts. Thank you.

So I was browsing on newegg, and I saw a 950 for $90 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126100&ignorebbr=1. My current build is an i3 2100, a dq67sw mobo, and 16 gig of ram, as well as a six year old Radeon 5750. Would this card be a good upgrade? Thanks!

Hey guyz, i have a 5 year old rig and need to know if i can do some upgrades to game in high settings 1080p or should i buy a new one with the thought of 1440p gaming in the future(always on a budget. The hardware i intent to keep from this current built, if possible, is: CPU: Intel core i5 2320: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115091 MoBo:Turbo-X H61M: http://www.plaisio.gr/anavathmisi-diktia/anavathmisi/motherboard-mitrikes/Turbo-X-H61M-HDMI-s-1155-DDR3-H61-H61M-HDMI.htm PSU: Turbo-X 550W: http://www.plaisio.gr/anavathmisi-diktia/anavathmisi/psu-trofodotika/Turbo-X-550W-Value-Series-II.htm also hdd which is 1TB no problems with that and cooler which i can seem to find right now cause i am not sitting near that built right now. everything else is pretty much for upgrade. i have 2x2gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz and an AMD radeon 6770HD those are what i would like to replace. Thank you for your time in advance and lastly the budget i am going for is 250 euros.
