HI! I'm new to the LTT forums. I've been watching LTT for about a year now and I enjoy the content. It inspired me to build a new PC even though I've never built one before. I currently own a DELL XPS model from 2016 that I used to get me through college and its served me well for my creative work for about 3 years while I was studying visual communication design. I wanted to upgrade to something that could handle both gaming (like flight sims and some other AAA titles) and creative work (PS and Video editing). My base budget is $1,500 USD ( I can go a little higher if need be). I did research and already purchased my CPU, GPU, and RAM. Here's what I have on hand: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x GPU: MSi Ventus 3x GeForce 3070 8GB GDDR6 256-bit RAM: Owl memory series x2 OLOy 32GB (16GB*2) 3600MHz 288-pin DDR4 SDRAM Note: this kit came as a combo with my 3070 on Newegg. Added it to my PC Part Picker list and there were no compatibility issues. Total so far: roughly $900 I would greatly appreciate advice on the rest of the components I need that would be compatible with what I have currently.

Hey! So this is my first post, so I hope I got all the bits right on what topic this is and formatting and all that good stuff I'm a computer noobie. I got my computer as a prebuild, and then modified it later. I had just switched out some parts for better VR capabilities, and then later added an what I remember to be an Elgato capture card (to put my Switch onto my computer white not using the entire monitor!). I am deciding to upgrade as looking into a PC to build for my partner, I've slowly realized I'd like one as well. My current PC is very function and not very pretty, and I used to not care for that. But now I do, I want the pretty PC. I also know the fans are giving out and I need more ram, and I just want it. Honestly that's it. I don't NEED it, but I'd like it. I'm located in California, USA! So any prices will be made in $USD. My goal is to spend not too much more than ~$2,700 on the PC ignoring monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. So that's 2,700 on the PC alone. I did get a free Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX mid tower case, so thats not included in that PC price (though that also means any parts must fit in there!!) And before you read the rest, know it either needs to be mostly white or if not, it needs to be hidden or easily painted! I am big on gaming, and do a lil streaming on the side. I hard prefer Windows, and am more comfortable on Windows 10 as most software is still not converted and also Im a wimp. Speaking of being a wimp, I am NOT and FPS player. I do however play a lot of modded games! Mostly Sims 4 and some pretty heavy modded Minecraft, so I know I need a good ram. Other than that, Im not sure! I do was a 3080, I'm just not sure if I want a TI or not (and also not sure of the difference?) Also like I mentioned earlier, I'm from the US so any adaptor/power stuff needs to fit a NA power rig. I'd like the graphics card to have room for at least 2 HDMI ports, as I will be wanting a 2 monitor set up (one vertical for chat/discord, and one normal) with the chance of upgrading to a 3rd when I mode in 2/3 years and can round up some more space. I chose the Corsair Hydro X Series iCUE XH305i cooler very intentionally. There was a PC I saw on TikTok and chose to copy its cooling system. Its Boba themed and I very much so like it, while also recognizing its not the most practical to have glass marbles in my PC. But I guess thats the fun part in getting this. Other than the case, the cooler, and the color, I'm super open! This is what I got for that build, let me know what you would add/change! Note: PCPartPicker says I dont have a cooler, when I do! Its under the custom options https://pcpartpicker.com/list/R6xxMb

Budget (including currency): 2500ish (If there was a good reason to go higher I might consider it.) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Initially for fort nite, but long term it will be an ESXI host Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My son needs a decent rig to play games on with his friends before he leaves for 2 years. After that it will be converted to an ESXI server for use in my house. I already have a 1080Ti that will use with it for gaming, and also have an Adaptec controller and drives I will put in raid configuration once I convert it. Here are the parts I am thinking to buy, just need to get feed back on compatibility and also if you think something could be better or if something is missing please offer input. I acquired my parents' old PC when they upgraded and am assessing the viability of making slight upgrades to make it worth keeping around for a media center PC capable of light gaming. The intent is to give it to a cousin who wants to play Fortnite and Minecraft with his friends on PC. The weakest part of the PC is the dual-core Athlon A6-5400K which, though boosts properly to around 3.7GHz, spikes to 100% when launching Edge browser. The motherboard has a free PCIe Gen 2 x16 slot and a six-pin PCIe power connector, so adding a GPU is an option. I am assuming that I buy all parts secondhand. Questions: Is adding a GPU worth it or would it be hopelessly bottlenecked by the CPU? If not, what GPUs should I look at getting that would offer reasonable performance at 720p or 1080p in the main titles (Fortnite and Minecraft) over PCIe Gen 2? My main thoughts would be something like a GTX 660, 960, or 1050. If I were to look at a processor upgrade, what should I look at that fits in the FM2 socket with a reasonable TDP? Additional Information: Motherboard: Elitegroup ECS A75F2-A2. Not sure if it supports more that 8GB of RAM. In fact, I can't find any more information about it online or on Elitegroup's site. PSU: Antec 380W Thank you for any suggestions and all of your help!

Build Recommendation (Video rendering/3d mapping)
Axidrain posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello guys I'm new here. I'm planning to build a PC for mostly Video rendering on Premiere pro, After effects and also some 3d mapping stuff that I'm planning to do with my drones. I have a budget of about $2500 and can probably stretch that to $3000 if necessary. Can the more experienced people in here suggest some builds? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.- 3 replies

Assume I know nothing about computers. Alls I know about computers is that I will buy an i7 6700 and a GTX 1070, or whatever AMD comes out with. Purpose: Firstly, I will be using this computer for college stuff and research. Secondly, I will be using the PC for minor work/spreadsheet/powerpoint stuff. Thirdly, I would like to use it for leisure. (content creation, mega super ultra 1080p gaming, media consumption) Budget: I am more concerned with value and quality than meeting a certain price point. I can spend over $1,700 including the monitor, but I don’t think that would be necessary. Constraints: -wifi adapter -include optical drive -Include i7 6700 -include GTX 1070(or next gen AMD equivalent) I would also appreciate monitor suggestions (best of the best 1080p) Thank y’all Fill out the rest? Hi Everyone, I am planning to bulid my 1st time ever PC gaming though I have little knowledge on this. My budget is range from 1000$ to 1900$ at most, include monitor. Could anyone suggest me a good build within the budget range. I know it is a lot, but could you pick all part from this website? (since it is the only shop I know in my country who sell good and a bit cheaper products from other shop, order from online is next to impossible for me, because 1, they dun deliver to my country; 2, m afraid of warranty and stuff, hard to return) http://www.chantracomputer.com/desktopsystem.html Goal: Gaming at 1080p at least, at High or higher setting, I will spend the rest on Movies, and other stuff. Game I want to play: GTA 5, CS-GO, Mental Gear V, BF4, and other modern game. Location: Cambodia Thank you very much for your every input.

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm looking for a build for my friend around € 650 / $ 706. Quite important notes: The budget can be expanded a little bit. It needs to be able to run any of the games out now, but it can be on low settings. Resolution is 1080p. Location is Belgium, but often our neighbour countries like Germany and France ship to here. Overclocking is not necessary, but preferred. If it means spending over budget money, no go though. Thanks in advance!

i already got a 24 inch 1080 monitor( asus vs248h-p) , considering if i should get two more( possibly 2 cheaper monitors/ one better monitor for primary and vs248h/ three vs248h) and go for evefinity or get a 21:9 monitor and running the 24 i have as an auxiliary (rotated 90 degrees for code)? currently i have a 290, getting a 390 to crossfire ( cheapest and most sensible upgrade path for me atm hoping my 750w psu wont die lol) i like racing games, shooters, real time and turn based strategy...... what do u guys think 21:9 or tripple? and any suggestions on monitors ? ps: shipping rates to my country is atrocious it can cost more than the item at times  so price is a limiting factor, going to buy bit by bit as i save up cash.

So this is my first time building a rig and I have been anticipating this for a while though it has never come to fruition until possibly very soon. I have posted here asking for ideas before the 900 series were out without a definite idea of what the prices might be but now I have a better understanding. I am looking for a build that can give me maximum performance for the budget as my aim is to go without upgrading every year until I really need to so the newer graphic cards would be better. I am looking for decently high resolution probably 1440-1600 as 4k gaming is too demanding right now but I would welcome 4k if its in my budget though I doubt it. I am mostly going to play games on this rig and probably light photoshop editing for my job. I am hoping to max out on all games for quite sometime if possible. I will reply to any inquiries if needed so I would really appreciate it if anyone can give me some builds to work on as I only have a vague idea on how to create mine as of now. Thanks in advance.
