build review Please help me with a budget 1080p build
SheriffS posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): 40,000 INR Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CSGO , Apex , Overwatch , Lost Ark , Dota 2 , LoL [ 1080p , 75 fps ] Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Already have SSD , monitor , keyboard , mouse EDIT : I also want to run 2 monitors with it I have already researched few parts and added to wishlist, please review and suggest if it is good enough for 1080p gaming of old titles and current esports titles at 75+ fps. Also, I will add a 6500XT or similar budget graphics next year ( under 20,000 INR ) - Will this build be able to then play latest AAA titles at 1080p 60 fps ? PS. Currently have a i5 laptop with 940 MX , getting 30 fps in csgo at low mid settings. -
I'm still on the fence about whether to go AIO or Air Cooling gang for this build. I've been on laptops for more than a decade and it's my first PC build so I do like them aethetics of a fancy LCD on the cpu. That said though, the price to performance of a D15 chromax black does get me thinking maybe that's the better way to go. Processory is a 5900x so does a 360 rad have a considerable edge over the D15? Also any general tuning up of the build would be really appreciated. ( Already got the case and R9 5900x ) https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/grimmrepairer/saved/kdhFZL Budget (including currency): 3500 ish CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Most AAA single players Anno and other city builder games I do like cranking graphics as high as I can get them Work running Unreal Engine and some Light - Medium 3D rendering.

This is my first build. As I am not so expert, I tried to go with brands I had already dealt with. My approach was to ensure some grade of "future proofness" and upgradability, as I would like make use of it for the next 5-7 years before major changes. My usual usage will be photo editing, amateur video editing and "not-so-heavy" gaming. Feel free to give me your opinion on it. Can anyone give me an idea on the graphic performances I would be able to achieve? Also, I'm searching for a good PC case under 100 euros, possibly with already mounted fans and soundproof (I don't care about glasses and lights). After weeks of researching around and evaluating a lot of stuff, i have finally picked the parts required to build my PC. This will serve as my work and gaming pc for the NEXT 3 ~ 5 YEARS to come by, without any other planned future upgrades. I am an application developer and i'll be spending my evenings and weekends playing games. Am submitting the parts for a final review before buying. Suggestions are welcomed. Thank you. NOTE 1 - These are not the exact prices and places i am buying my stuff from, Its just a display of the list of parts i have chosen/available to me, the actual prices where i buy vary a lot. NOTE 2 - The case is actually different This is the case i'll be buying. Since i could not find it on partpicker. Hi there, I'm new here. Hope everyone is doing great. Very boringly, I'm not a gamer. I am a deep learning researcher. Recently for work, I wanted to build a PC. Here are the specs, Will appreciate your feedback on the specs, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZTnWxY I have some concerns, 1. Do I really need 2 additional fans? I have added them as I'm not sure about the fan given with the case. 2. One of my friends bought Asus x99 series motherboard. his processor+motherboard has gone for 2 times within 5 months of buying(lucky for warranty). He suggested me not to go for ASUS. What do you think on this? 3. Does the power supply is good enough? 4. Where can I get SLI bridge, in GPU? 5. Is there any additional cost I'm missing? 6. How noisy will be the system under heavy load (given that most of the time it will be under heavy load on simulation)? 7. Any suggestion, concern, poking, constructive criticism, jokes are appreciated. Note: 4k is not my concern. My original concern is the number of CUDA cores. So don't joke with the dual 21.5" panel.

Location and budget: Canada and since I've already purchased my SSD and GPU, I have about $750 CDN left in my budget. Aim: 1440p gaming with high graphics around 60 fps. I plan to run a single 1440p monitor. Peripherals: I've already got nearly all my peripherals, with the exception of speakers I've got three questions: 1).Is a 500 Watt powersupply going to be enough wattage for this build? If it is enough do, could I OC my GPU at all? 2).Will my I5-4690 bottleneck my performance at 1440p? 3).Should I be concerned with any of the compatibility notes on PC Part Picker? So 7 year old laptop is dying on me, ps3 is dead, left with nothing to game on. Instead of buying a new laptop and ps4 i have decided to build my very own pc (well i know a guy who builds pc's and i offered him beer and pizza in exchange for his services). I am pretty dense when it comes to this stuff so sorry for any mistakes or stupidity in advance. Some info. Budget is 1500 Australian dollars roughly, little over wont hurt, as far under as i can go would be great. I hope to be able to play most games (mainly play any and all rpg's, arpg's to be honest) at 1080p, 60 fps, on Ultra. Or any game actually with the exception of some obvious games like just cause 3 and what not. I live underneath my uncles house in a small sort of one room apartment (like some sort of troll) whilst i am studying there, so i don't want some monster tower taking up loads of space. The room is relatively cool in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. It is very very dusty though, no matter how much i clean. This is something i got help throwing together and wanted to hear some opinions from people who know what they're doing. Also is the case i chose a good one? How should the fans set up to optimize cooling and reduce dust build up? Would a cpu or gpu aftermarket cooler be necessary? Hi guys! I'm looking forward to build my first gaming pc ever, and I was wondering if you could review my plan so far ! This PC will be oriented mainly towards gaming (at 3440x1440p). It will be use for work as well, but no image rendering or video editing. I'm aiming for smooth gameplay (60 fps) at 3400x1440 and at high settings. The most demanding game I'll play on it will be Star Citizen I guess, but since it is not released, it is hard to forecast the hardware required. I guess Crysis 3 is the benchmark at the moment since Star Citizen will run on Cry Engine 3. I'm not looking for a budget PC, high end is the way to go for this build. Of course I'm not burning money like a madman (so no 4-way sli titan X suggestion please:p ). I'm estimating 3000$ will be good (without the screen). I'm living in Canada, so I'll get my parts mainly on NCIX, Newsegg, Amazon. The part selection for the moment: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/86XvQ7 I'm looking for 3440x1440P because I really love working with 2 screens, but I hate the bezel at the center. So I can see this resolution really fixing my problem! Also, in gaming, it will be quite immersive Processor: the i7-4790K seems like the way to go for a good gaming processor with hyperthreading, so I took it without many other reasons than hyperthreading (which i guess will be helpfull in upcoming games). I could wait a bit for Broadwell, but I don't think it will worth it (not much improvements over this generation). Motherboard: I honestly don't have much clues over which mobo to choose. It looked like a good one with good reviews on PCPP, so I took this one. I don't know if there is much difference between a mobo with 2 sli 16x PCI-E lanes, and one with 1 16x and 8x (since both card will run at 8x). Is there any real performance difference? RAM: Not so expensive, 16 gigs seems like a reasonable amount to run games and other apps at the same time. Apparently the brand is good, 2400 mhz wiill improve speed, but otherwise I don't have other argument to choose on type of RAM over the other... Storage: I leaning toward all SSD storage into this build. I don't have much music, or pictures/video, so I don't need a HDD with 4G to store that, but I want my OS and all my games on SSD for a lightning fast boot of everything! 2 512G SSD RAID 0 or 1 1TB SSD is the question at the moment... GPU: I'm waiting for the next generation of GPUs (it will be either the 980ti or the 390x), so I have put 2 GTX 780 ti for the moment only to figure out the required wattage (250 W each, which will probably be the wattage required on the upcoming cards) on PCPP for the build, but it will be 1 of those 2 card at first, and the I will move on to sli. Apparently the 390x will comes with only 4gig of memory on it, si I guess I will lean toward the 980ti (at 6gig) to sustain good performance at that resolution. The upcoming weeks in GPUland will make me decide which one to get. I'll wait for good reviews as well to compare the 2 cards! Case: I like minimalistic design (I'm not looking for a window or lights in the case), so fractal design R5 looks like the way to go. Plus, it is a mid-tower case, which I prefer, and it is supposed to be really quiet PSU: The PCPP calculator gives me a reading of 714W, so a 860W should do the trick (plus a safety margin!). It is also a platinium certified psu, which is great! I intend to overclock a bit, but not that much. I will go all in air cooling, and I'm aiming for quiet and performance, so I grabbed 3 Noctua 140mm fan (2 front, 1 back) for the case , and a noctua NH-U12 for cpu cooling, which I think will be cool and quiet (as the noctua reputation implies). The screen will be the magnificient LG 34UC97-S which I really love, even if it doesn't have freesync or g-sync on it. Still undecided for the keyboard, so I pick up this Thermaltake Poseidon for the moment, but I will review it later. Thanks in advance for the help guys ! I looking for your approval, so I can lock-up my choices and be ready for the upcoming GPU releases in the upcoming weeks !!

Hey there, Heard that there were some pretty knowledgeable cool cats that could help me out on determining the quality of my build. Just thought id throw up the components that im thinking of and if anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. This is my first computer build, im spending around $2000 on the computer its self and about $600 on the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitors, etc). This work station is going to be primarily used for video editing in the Adobe Suite. So needless to say i need a graphics card with some CUDA goodness. Let me know if you need any further details on the build. Here's some stats. This was a rough guide for component selection. I fudged with it a little in the following priced section. ----------Percentage Breakdown----------------- CPU: 22%MB: 10% RAM: 10% GPU: 15% HD: 28% PSU: 4% CPU Cooler: 4% Case: 4% Extras 3% Peripherals NOT INCLUDED ----------Percentage Breakdown----------------- ----------------$2600 Budget-------------------- CPU: $440 Procesador Intel Core i7 4770K MB: $200 Asus Maximus Hero VI (Might be into a better MB, any suggestions that match the CPU socket? or maybe another combo all together?) RAM: $200 32 GB Kingstone Hyper X GPU: $300 Gigabyte GTX 760 HD: $430 240 GB SSD + 2 TB HDD (Not too concerned on brands, probly going with a samsung SSD and WD black 2TB) PSU: $80 Termaltake SP-750 CPU Cooler: $110 Corsair H100 Case: $100 Termalteake SV Extras: $140 fan 12" termaltake X 4, SD card Reader, DVD Burner Peripherals: $600 ----------------$2600 Budget-------------------- Time is of the essence so sooner the better for feedback. Thanks!
