Dear PC enthusiasts, I am building my first PC. After going through various Linus Tech Tips videos and some of the posts in this subreddit and other similar ones, along with some Googling, I have picked my components. Budget (including currency): <75K INR (~1000 USD) Country: India with Amazon as the major e-commerce platform for PC parts. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (+ regular work that an old i5 + 8GB RAM Laptop can handle) Other details: no other peripherals needed, already have a ViewSonic 23.8 inch Full HD LED Backlit IPS monitor. I might add another monitor (1080p) eventually. Regarding GPU: Due to the current supply chain issues, I am hoping to add a Radeon RX 6600 XT sometime later in 2022. Build date: I will start ordering components by January 2022 and start building as soon as things align. The following are the selected components, CPU AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B092L9GF5N/ CPU Cooler Stock Cooler with CPU Motherboard GIGABYTE B550M DS3H Ultra Durable Motherboard https://www.amazon.in/GIGABYTE-B550M-DS3H-Motherboard-Solution/dp/B089TNX9YT/ RAM Crucial Ballistix CL16 (2x8GB) https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-Ballistix-3600MT-Unbuffered-Black-BL8G36C16U4B/dp/B08FXDLZCZ/ PSU Cooler Master MWE 750 Bronze https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08H1ZC76Q/ Primary Storage Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-Internal-Solid-State-MZ-V7S500BW/dp/B07MFBLN7K/ Secondary Storage Crucial MX500 1 TB https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-MX500-1TB-2-5-inch-SSD/dp/B078211KBB/ Tower Ant Esports ICE-120AG Mid Tower https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08CGCRNMS/ Here is the link for the same configuration (except some parts I was unable to find in the US server): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9nGdp2 Note: I am purposefully avoiding RGB parts as I don't want them. Please let me know of your suggestions and improvements, or any other feedback. Thank you!

I already have plenty of storage (Nvme SSD and sata SSD) and an RTX 2070 from previous laptops and my EGPU. This build has been in the works for a couple of months now, I've done research on every part and I'd like some feedback on it. The build is as follows: CPU/cooler: i5-6600K cooled by Scythe Fuma Motherboard: Asus Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3000 Storage: Crucial MX300 SSD and WD Blue 1TB HDD GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Case: NZXT S340 PSU: RM650x The things I'd like to know is if the airflow is enough on this PC for the time being, I'll be upgrading to AIO cooling in a month or two as my budget doesn't allow it right now. I think everything is compatible, I've checked through it but if something isn't, please tell me. I'll be overclocking too so that will be something to note, both CPU and GPU. And I'd also like to ask what AIO cooling would be the best for this build, I was looking at the H100i and Kraken X61, are the good and which one should I get? Is there any better AIO cooling? Thanks in advance!

Hello all, I was recently putting together a build list. I am going to be using this computer primarily for gaming. (though I may get into video editing and 3D modelling later) This build was meant to be flexible for upgrades in the future, so feel free to tell me if I did a good job or not. I’m using one monitor as of now, but I will probably still use my current monitor after getting a new one, as I feel like dual monitors would fit my needs. As seen on the part list, I kind of want to go all out, but if there are better ones for around the same price range please let me know. The main reason I want to upgrade is to play higher end games. I am getting tired of playing the same old games, over and over again, so I would like something new. I already have all of the peripherals, and I just need the computer itself. One last thing, I already have the GPU and the PSU, but the PSU model wasn’t available on PCPartPicker, so I just used one that was quite similar. Thanks! Just finalizing my part list for a non-gaming rig. I intent to use it for software development utilizing emulators and some VM's for my work. I may want to use this as a hackintosh I chose low profile ram to make sure I get an easy fit with the Noctua cooler. It's been a long journey for me. Thanks for all your guys help the first time around. I started with a Powercolor Vega 64 that I got at an awesome price. Unfortunately I decided to sell it and spend the little bit extra on a on EVGA 1080 FTW2 that I also got for an awesome price this past weekend. Just a couple things I want to hammer out and see if there's anywhere I can save money/get better components as I'll be finishing the build this weekend. I want to go with the 8600k but the current mark up is really bothering me. Was wondering if I should save over 100 dollars and go with the 8400. The way I see it if Intel doesn't screw with everyone again, I can just upgrade down the line the the new 9th gen processors when they hit. The RAM is definitely going to change, was waiting for a good deal for Black Friday and I regret not pulling the trigger on a few deals. Cooler is also probably going to change. While it seems to be a very good value cooler, not sure if I need to go to water cooling to do some overclocking if I decide to get the 8600k. Not sure if I should save on the CPU and cooler to get a better m.2, or if it's even worth it without the savings since I plan to mostly game on this rig and some light Adobe Suite and Java. Right now I'll be gaming at 1080p 60hz but that's going to change very soon once I have the money for a nice 1440p monitor next month. Other than that any feedback or advice would be great!

Hey LTT forums, I am trying to upgrade from my current system which is absolutely horrible for games purchased years ago (i5-2300 integrated graphics [no dedicated GPU], 6GB ram, 1440p ). This list is in USD (US Dollars) and in Minnesota. Micro Center Twin Cities is near by but the tax on a system like below is $47 (still a $30 off motherboard/cpu combo though). I am doing light gaming such as Portal 2, CS:GO, & Minecraft. I am also programming in Java and some web languages (probably not too intensive to develop with but HTML, JS, CSS, and PHP as it just needs a text editor/basic IDE). Right now I am doing this on my current PC as the specs are listed above utilizing almost at peak times 100% ram, and 90% CPU . 25% ram on idle. I really need an upgrade. Minecraft (not very resource intensive) will be running while I develop in Java. When developing Java I have Chrome, Skype, Eclipse, Filezilla, Putty, & 7ZIP open. Lastly I have one monitor 1680 x 1050 PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($110.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: MSI H110M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($65.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($59.99 @ Adorama) Storage: PNY CS1311 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($39.99 @ Best Buy) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($47.49 @ OutletPC) Video Card: XFX Radeon R7 360 2GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($99.99 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.95 @ NCIX US) Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX US) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST DVD/CD Writer ($13.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($92.95 @ B&H) Case Fan: Kingwin CF-012LBR 40.0 CFM 120mm Fan ($3.98 @ OutletPC) Total: $625.29 (around the same using just one merchant such as Newegg) Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-06 15:27 EDT-0400 The CPU is a 17% increase http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-2300-vs-Intel-Core-i3-6100/m291vs3511. Hello hello, Looking to build a "do it all" PC for home to replace my 5 year old budget system from my student days. This includes VR gaming, video editing, 3D modelling, streaming and any other intensive development tools (Unreal4 Editor in particular is kicking my current rig's ass). Here's what I have: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Teh_Lemon/saved/sKYscf Intel i7 6700K Noctua NH-U12S CPU Cooler Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD Corsair RMx 750W Power Supply Fractal Design Define R5 Going to re-use my old graphics card and hard drives for now, plan to wait for the new 1080/490 or whatever since VR pre-orders seem to be backed up by several months anyway. Don't really have a budget but looking to spend around £1000/$1500. I've been aiming for high-end but still "grounded in reality"-tier with these parts. Quiet would be nice hence the case and psu. Unlikely to overclock, SLI, RAID etc. but I want to leave options open. When in doubt, I just went with the next highest tier. An extra bit of future proofing is much preferable to running into a wall. I want my PC to work for me, not against me. Posting this thread to make sure there aren't any incompatibilities or if I'm missing a no-brainer deal (like I did last time by getting a 560 instead of a 560 ti). Thanks for any help!

(i copied the template from r/buildapc) What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. I want this to be a gaming rig but i'll also be consuming a lot of media on it - netflix, hulu, youtube, and the sorts. If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings) At present its only going to be running a 1080p monitor but in the future i plan on adding a 1440p/4k monitor to the setup. This would me my first gaming pc so i would be playing all sorts of games and want to be able to max out the quality on my current 1080p monitor. What is your budget (ballpark is okay)? I plan on spending around $1200-1500. In what country are you purchasing your parts? USA. Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Any way i can bring the price down without sacrificing performance would be sweet ^^. Thank you!

Also will I need any extra cables?

My original budget was $2000, but life happens and I've had to cut that down dramatically. Now I'm at $1200 (USD) maximum budget before tax and rebates. Lower is better. This is my first actual build. I've educated myself a lot (thanks in large part to LTT) since I started learning a couple of years ago, but I'm looking for seasoned builders to have a look. My goals for this build are: * Excellent performance in games at 1080p on a single monitor for the next few years * Reliable performance for occasional audio/video editing * Can handle the crushing weight of Chrome with a bunch of open tabs/apps * MOBO supports overclocking and 2x SLI for future upgrades * Going for a blue and black theme Must Haves and No-Gos: * Gotta have an i5 * Gotta have an NVIDIA GPU (I've had mixed results with my current 7670m) * Gotta have an SSD boot drive * AC Wireless is a must * Don't want a 970. Even if it somehow fit in the budget the whole VRAM thing makes me skittish for future upgrades to resolutions >1080p... The feedback I've gotten is that it's nothing to worry about. I agree if all I'm looking at is 1080p on a single monitor, but what if I upgrade down the line and to multiple monitors at higher resolutions? I think I'd rather upgrade to a current card in 3-5 years than add in a second 970 and risk dealing with a performance hit for accessing that extra 500MB. So there. Does anyone have suggestions to reduce this price without major sacrifices? I know there's cheaper drives out there, but I'm wary of lower quality. Thanks for taking a look!
