Is this within acceptable build quality levels? It is the only part of the monitor like that, the other crevices seem more acceptable, they move a tiny bit but only if I apply moderate pressure. This part even though it looks imperfect does not seem to move at all by pressing on it

Hey LTT forums, Would love some advice from the community. Been looking at the HP spectre x360 as my possible uni laptop. All the reviews I've read has been great and I am loving it. But I've been burnt by HP in the past with its horrendous customer service and build quality. Having to send my envy back to HP for repairs for 3 weeks straight during submission month was hell. I've been hearing HP has stepped up their game but I really can't be too careful. Would appreciate any feedback from the community about any recent experiences with HP and the late 2016 spectre x360. P.S. I live in Singapore, planning to get my laptop in Malaysia cause its cheaper there. P.S.S those wondering why not just get the XPS 13, the prices over here in Southeast Asia are overly inflated. Shame really.

I always had Corsair as a good brand, a brand to be trusted, but as it turns out, i can no longer trust my money towards Corsair products. It all started with a memory kit i bought from a reputable store here in Brazil, a pair of 8gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz (16GB CL10) RAM sticks, simple stuff. I'm not sure if this kit is particularly problematic or something, but i had to RMA 3 BNIB kits in order to get one that both sticks would work correctly, the store i bought them from was very kind to send the kits via fast shipping to my home, but just the money i spent on shipping the 3 defective kits back to the store, if added to the price i paid for the first kit, would be enough to buy memory from another brand, say Patriot, since i never had a single problem with their products. Ok, in the end i got a working kit, fine, i thought "i was just unlucky, perhaps", but no, not to be outdone, almost a year later, the pump on my H55 decides to die. Fine, i didn't even try to RMA it (i'll explain why later), i trew it in the trash and bought a Zalman CNPS10X Extreme to replace it. But that was not the end, just a few days ago i posted here on the forums that i had a problem with the scroll wheel and the middle click button going haywire, in which i stated that i used the mouse since early 2014, which is not true, i confused myself at the time, this is my second M65, the first one i sold around january 2016, just to realise that i wasn't happy with any other mice at the time, and buy a Corsair M65 once again around the same date, i'll show proof of purchase if you feel i'm not telling the truth. Easy fix, i just bought a Logitech M570 trackball to use as my daily driver, and i was planning to keep the M65 as just my gaming mouse, since i don't use the scroll wheel or middle click in any game, add the fact that i really like the overall shape of the mouse. But today all buttons decided to stop functioning, the sensor works, but not a single button works, not even the DPI adjustment buttons. I didn't try to RMA this mouse as well, and i'll explain why: Some months ago (August 31st of 2016 to be exact) i was adjusting the weights under my M65 and i applied a little too much force on one of the screws, which made the metallic thread rotate inside the plastic shell and fall. I spoke first with Corsair to see if i could do something, in which they responded something along the lines of "we do not provide official support in your country (Brazil), speak with your vendor". I decided not to bother, i just used the mouse like it was and didn't contact my vendor, already knowing that they would probably figure the case as user's fault. Not only that, but if Corsair doesn't provide official support on Brazil, that means the 3 years warranty claim on the boxes cannot be taken for granted, vendors with CNPJ are only forced to provide a 3 month warranty over imported products, most offer a full year warranty, but not more than that, and my mouse failed over a full year of use, even if i tried to RMA it now, i wouldn't get anything. And just to finish it of, i'm never, i said NEVER, buying anything from Corsair from now on. Sorry if misspelled any words on this post or something similar, i'm not a native speaker and its already past 1a.m. but i just wanted to show my disappointment with the brand.

Hey guys, so I am looking for a laptop for programming. Last week I just sold my surface book, I liked it, but I feel like a 13inch laptop is too small for programming. and my current alienware 15 is too heavy There is really no budget limit here but I hope it could be lower than 2000 bucks. I want a 15 inch (or 14?)laptop with good typing experience, the build quality should also be good, battery life around 4-5 hours. Is razer blade good for programming? I owned a xps 15 before , anyone knows when will the new version be released? THX

Can anyone tell me who manufactures this power supply? http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00003003 I read JonnyGURU's review on the 850W version and he was very pleased with it, and I am wondering is this the same unit manufactured by the same company, or is it a different unit, as I remember in the past I've read that some power supplies from the same lineup that are at different wattages were completely different units. Is this the case here too, or I shouldn't worry about it? Any help would be very appreciated.

Hi guys, this is my first post here. Well, I'm looking for a new laptop for my dad. Let's start with what we have. He's been using a Lenovo Business laptop (forgot the model, can tell later, but it costed around 550$ back then) since early 2007. And it really is a very impressive laptop. Sure, it still runs windows XP and some other outdated softwares, but it's 4gb ram is still "Okay" for web browsing, E-mailing and document typing. Through this 11+ years, we've never encountered any hardware issues with it. Just some scuffs on the plastic. The display, trackpad and keyboard are still in very usable condition. But now I am looking for a performance upgrade to that. So can anyone please recommend some 7th or 8th gen laptop which have good build quality costing 500 to 700 US Dollars? Is Lenovo still a good option?

In my opinion yes it is, but I wanted to know what experts think here in mexico RM650i - 750i are twich as much as CX gray label, EVGA GD, CM masterwatt and other budget power supplies it's for an i3 4160, 8gb ram and GTX 950 I know it is overkill but corsair RMi are better quality and I might upgrade later on Efficiency and fan noise are irrelevant to me, my main concern is build quality and performance, will having a top-of-the line PSU make a difference in component lifespan, safety or anything? Any other options you recommend?

Hi, I am looking for a laptop for university, mainly heavy web browsing and light gaming, might want to occasionally game on older AAA titles. Both laptops come with standard 15.6 IPS panels, mx150, 4gb of ram.... The only difference between the models that I am looking at is the new 8th gen i5 and i7 with the i7 having an extra 128gb ssd that the i5 does not have. The problem I have is that the difference in price is 1k myr, which is around 250usd. Is the increase in performance from that worth the money? I am currently using an acer e1 572g with i7 and 8gb of ram which still works fine but the hinge is a nightmare, which I cannot complain much at the price point. Also, I am studying overseas so I would prefer getting a laptop that comes with international warranty, such as asus. One model that I am looking at is the ASUS VivoBook S15 S510UN ( i7 8850u, 4gb ram, fingerprint scanner, mx150, 1tn hdd+ 128ssd) but I read some bad reviews about it. It is priced at 4100 MYR which is around 1k usd and the I7 acer is priced at 3700 MYR, ~900 usd. Which laptop would be better, and if its the acer, which model?

I've had my $2800 (including tax & fees) MSI gt72s blah blah acronyms since October 2015, and the Steel Series keyboard is already failing (but externals work fine). The Space Bar, F key, and G key no longer work, and more may follow. I don't even use it very often, I plug in a mechanical. Warranty will cover it, and lasts until January 2018. But if I send it off, I probably won't have a computer when I start school again in June. Kind of a big deal since I'm going for Software Development. I'm thinking about selling it to my dad's company (not sure for how much yet) and downgrading to an Alienware 15 with the money, costing around $2000 (including tax), but I don't know what a fair price would be. Silver lining: it would be a little nicer to carry around a 15" rather than this 17" behemoth. Oh, and the graphics amp seems cool. The big issue here is not having a computer for school, and MSI says 10-25 business days, excluding shipping (Good God!). Has anyone else had experience with MSI costumer service? Or a similar issue with a similar laptop? And if I sell, how much would be fair ($2599 msrp)? Here are the options I'm considering: Option 1: Downgrade, basically lose money, but have a working computer soon enough. Option 2: Repair it under warranty, risk starting software development classes without a computer, and risk future issues. Option 3: Buy a stupid flexy keyboard and take it to class, keep buying a stupid new one when the stupid thing breaks because it's stupid, and still risk future issues if there's something seriously wrong. Option 4: ... Haven't thought of one yet, but I'm sure more exist.

Hello Everyone, I have been thinking of buying one of the phones in the title (Lg G3 (3gb Ram), Asus Zenfone 2 (4gb Ram) or Meizu MX5) I find meizu mx5 the most beautiful with g3 a close 2nd (mostly because it doesn't have a metal back and its a little thicker) and the zenfone 3 lacking substancially Performance wise i believe g3 is faster but zenfone's 4gb of ram make it more than futureproof and a mutitasking while mx5 seems to be a lot slower. Also i will root the phone get rid of the bloatware and probably change the rom if it's not working for me, so that is not a problem for me Screen is a big thing for me and i believe g3 is a clear winner but the thermal issues dropping the brightness can be VERY annoying to me does it happen that often? Camera performance has me completely confused. I thought g3 had a great camera but f2.4 seems poor with mx5 decent f2.2 and zenfone's impressive f2.0 but lacking laser autofocus G3 seems sharper mx5 seems very good too bus zenfone lacks dynamic range creating contrasty images with either bad highlights or shadows. I have also heard that the g3 lacks battery life. i find all 3 of them in the same price group in my area so that is out of th question. My opinions are based on specs and youtube videos, are the real life results any different? Is the mx5 (My prime candidate) really that much slower (i will not play games on them or maybe extremely rarely rarely so that's not what i'm looking for)? What else do you have to say about them? Thanks for the help in advance!

I'm looking for a new mechanical keyboard and I was just hoping to get some suggestions for some of the best built keyboards on the market. I mostly prefer cherry mx blue/clear switches and I will probably switch the keycaps out for some more durable PBT caps. ~KyleJScott P.S. I've heard that Corsair, Das Keyboard, Ducky, and WASD make great keyboards. Which one out of these companies do you think make the best in terms of quality?

Don't get me wrong here I love my razer products, I've been through so many of their products and ever had a bad experience with them nor have they died on me. My lachesis has been alive for 4 years and still being used in the office. Blackwidow 2012 still flawless *according to my brother* Blackwidow 2013 which I currently am using right now still works fine Mamba 2012 works exceptionally well as a secondary mouse Ouroboros besides from the texture smoothing out, the mouse doesn't have a single defect on it. I'm just here to find out why people is saying razer is such a bad product and if they can please provide some evidence that they or someone they know have a bad experience with them or is it just that people are bashing the name for the sake of society.

There is literally no way for me to get my hands on one without buying it, the closest retailer is over a hundred miles away. Ive been looking into the GE60 Apache (http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GE60-Apache-Pro-003-15-6-Inch/dp/B00IMTQ3UW/ref=sr_1) and GT60 Dominator (http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GT60-Dominator-424-9S7-16F442-424-15-6-Inch/dp/B00IMTQ5G4/ref=sr_1_5) but i have no idea what the build quality is like or how the overall feel is and i really dont want to buy one without knowing.

So, my current headphones just snapped in half. Well, not really, but one of the hinges on my Sony MDR-V55's just broke and while it's still usable, I was looking for a new pair anyways so I decided to blow my money on some GOOD headphones. BUDGET: Around 150 dollars/euros (seems to be about the same, but I'm in The Netherlands, and I buy almost all my stuff from here www.tweakers.net) Genres: Electronic, Rock etc. (Favorite bands/Artists: Radiohead/Atoms for Peace, Oasis/Beady Eye, Goldfish, AdhesiveWombat What I like: A nice bass, without sacrificing too much mids and highs. For comparison: My dad owns the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm, and I really like those. I want it to be kind of an all-purpose headphone (or something like that). Basically, It doesn't need to be super-portable, but when I am traveling (by car/plane/train) I dont want anyone around me be able to hear what I'm listening to. That's what I don't like about the DT990 Pro's. So I guess that I want a pair of closed headphones. Currently on my list: 1. Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 80 Ohm: Sound seems to be kind of similar to the DT990 Pro, which I already know I like. Also the build quality seems to be very good on these 2. Audio Technica ATH-M50: Was my fist pick a while ago, probably the most mentioned set of headphones on this forum, but @MayflowerElectronics has recently been saying (or I think it was him) that there are better options than the ATH-M50s at that price point. It looks like he knows what he's talking about, so then I wasn't sure anymore. Also the hinge kind of worries me... 3. ??? Anything, I'm open for suggestions I already have a microphone. I will be powering them from the onboard sound, but I'll probably buy a Fiio E10 eventually because theres a slight hiss sound when there's no sound is playing Could anything else cause that problem? So that's about it. Thanks in advance, and I gotta say, this is an awesome community!

I am looking for a headset between $50-$80 that needs to have a mic, good base, and good built quality! I'm not an audiophile, I just like some punchy base! I can't really move my budget any higher so just hit me up with my options at this range!
