Budget (including currency): My budget is around 15 000SEK or around ~1400USD I'm not really looking to go much above this price but if it's worth it I'm happy to! =) Country: I'm based in the Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details Right now I´m on my 5 year old computer and as it happens I have started at a small company that has an i9-9900K laying in a box so I thought might as well, and can get parts through the company so it becomes a bit cheaper here in Sweden. Aim The aim for this PC is an all gaming computer, that for a turn can run AAA games Monitors ATM I have 2 monitors: MSI Optix G27CQ4 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Curved Monitor Asus VG248QG 24.0" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor Upgrade Here are my thoughts but as this is a puzzle making computer to make everything coordinate and get no bottleneck, Thinking of waiting for the black Friday(to see what's up) and see if the 4000 series is worth looking in to (might not with the i9-9900K as for bottlenecking), but better to be prepared then not XD https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4GmJBj CPU Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor (Can't change) CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard Gigabyte Z390 AORUS MASTER ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (There is not many with the i9-9900K socket, and this can be bought from china and shipped to Sweden) Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Storage Kingston KC3000 1.024 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card Palit GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB GameRock Video Card Case NZXT H7 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply Corsair HX1000 Platinum 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Computer is listed to be around ~2100 dollars, but for me having the PSU and CPU would land at a whooping ~1400 ~But would really apricate some feedback from you guys as this is a "puzzle"

build logs The Guinea Pig: High End Rig For The Wife
GlorifiedPaperShuffler posted a topic in Build Logs
For months now, I have been planning to build two high end rigs for me and the wife. The wife's system will be built first, because ladies first, and also because I've never done hard line water cooling before, so I need a guinea pig. Her rig will be high end for sure, but it'll just be a generic high end rig. It'll serve as the test bed for many things, including hard line bending/cutting, water block installation, Corsair's iCue, HydroX parts, X570, Ryzen 3rd Gen, and RTX games. We've got the furniture for a twin battlestation area last weekend. Today, the first set of tools arrived. I figured the Eiskoffer will give me the best chance of pulling this off well the first time around. Actual construction will begin this Labor Day weekend. Total budget for her rig is $3800. We're both sorta introverted people who don't often welcome guests in our home. So no one will probably ever see the rigs in-person. -
My friends have been telling me I was being scammed for months but I refused to lend that idea any merit because I saw them on LTT and trust LTT as a source of good info. So I also ordered this desk because of the linus video, and I also have not received the desk. I also had to deal with the changing store and website addresses and phone number issues. I paid in payments and just finished the last payment in May 2018. I emailed them about making shipping date and this was the response. We are currently sold out, thus we have been taking orders for the next batch, which should be around 2 months from now. After this email was sent with my last payment all communication went from a 24 hour turnover to 3-7 days and multiple emails from my end trying to get a hold of them. this is after I went on rants about how great the company was with responding timely and being very willing to work with a customer. but alas since they were so willing to work with me I was willing to wait they also offered me a discount on other products as compensation but I did not want anything else just what I ordered. just now that they have all my money it seems like I am no longer important. So I waited and once middle of july rolled around I sent them another email looking for an update on shipping. did not get a response for 2 days so i sent another email and did not get a response for 3 days so i sent 1 more and finally got a response that they changed their email and also the info below. Your iCTABLE is very close to be shipped, but it has to be slightly delayed. The current political conflicts between the United States and China have resulted in a complex trade war. The manufacturers are trying to exploit the struggle by not fulfilling orders on time or use other underhand methods in an attempt to increase prices. The conflict in turn heavily impacts small business like ours. Currently, our President and CEO, Anatoliy, is in China trying to resolve the manufacturing delays as fast as possible. We are putting our full effort to resolve the issue as soon as possible and will contact you with the soonest approximation. this email sent TONS of Red flags off, although I guess it could be true as I do not know how all that sort of stuff works. unfortunately it genuinely seems like I may have fell into a trap and a catch 22 as since I paid in payments and my last payment was almost 3 months ago I may be SOL on getting paypal to refund me if I do not in fact get the desk. this is very worrying and a HUGE disappointment. I genuinely hope I am wrong and my worries are for nothing as this company on the surface seems very cool and the product is genuinely worth getting. Red flags Changing website Changing Store/Payment links without notice sudden drop off in communication extended wait times for shipping that seem to usually go beyond Paypal's Terms for getting a refund. very little evidence of anyone outside of LTT and a few and I mean a few customers I have found making any remarks on the desk in regards to quality and price and so on. I imagine that SOMEONE would have made videos on this desk besides the company and LTT by now but nope nobody at all. although there are a couple posts on facebook about happy customers it is a very small group of people. they claim a HUGE customer base but there is little evidence to support this. Also is it just me or do they seem to rely heavily on LTT video that was done with them as their only source of validity of popularity? and upon searching my ass off the only media on ictable is the LTT one and some that they made themselves. PLEASE let me be wrong because they guys are really friendly and have a amazing product with a lot of potential and if I am wrong they need to seriously rethink the business practices in some areas to avoid these types of concerns as many people arnt as understanding and willing to wait as we are and will make a much bigger issue out of it.

So I just finished putting my "old" system ( I7-6700k @4.7Ghz, HIS R9 390, Corsair H100i v2, Asus Z170-A) into my new case, the Lian Li Alpha 550w. 1. In my opninion the case is great to build in, you just have enough room to do what you want 2. I jumped on the RGB train, see how that turns out, but now I leave the lights off in my room My system in my old case (sry for my crappy phone camera) At first I put everything into the new case, except the GPU, Liquid Metal on the CPU (Thermal Grizzly Condauctonaut) Then I looked sad at the cables...wich didn't change anything so I grapped my 10.000 Zipties A bit later (This side does face a shelve so I can't see it) After all of that I put it on my desk and all the sidepanels on And then I found the RGB Controle That's all, the Liquid Metal did drop the CPU temperature around 25 degrees C, but the stock thermal paste from the cooler didn't make great contact with the CPU so it only covered half of it That's all I have to say If you have any questions ask

Hey guys, so soon I will be building my first "real" computer and I decided to do a build log (or try to anyway). What I have right now is a 5 year old laptop with semi-broken hinges, trashed audio jack and pixel lines going all over the screen (well ok I will be honest I didn't really take good care for it and for that I am sorry). But besides that it is also getting slow and not powerful enough ( I pretty much cant run anything that came out after BF2, not without it lagging anyway.) Soo yes I am building a PC and here are the parts: Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Need to Order Motherboard: Maximus VI Formula Arrived CPU: Intel Haswell I5 4670k Arrived CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Need to Order RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 2x4GB 1600 MHz Arrived GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7950 DD Arrived HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Black Arrived SSD: Samsung 840 EVO Arrived PSU: Corsair AX 860 Need to Order Monitor: Asus MX23H Need to Order OS: Windows 8 64-bit English Arrived Keyboard: Microsoft Wired Keyboard Arrived Now don't freak out over the keyboard I just picked the cheapest keyboard I could find, since I need a keyboard obviously. Don't worry I will be buying a mechanical keyboard in the future Now my future PC isnt anything special, so no watercooling (unless you count the H100I) no modding (at least for now). But I tried to pick parts that go well together, so Black and Red as you may notice. I am going to try and overclock (hopefully won't burn anything ) and In the future I will be buying leds, better fans and sleeved cables (or maybe even try to sleeve myself, who knows) Again in the future I will be getting a second GPU a second Monitor and other stuff. But I think that for now this will be an awesome computer that will hopefully be able to run games on high settings with decent FPS, although considering what I'm coming from anything is an improvement. What I will be using it for is again games mostly: BF3, BF4, Planetside 2 (I will finally be able to run it. Fun story I've been wanting to play it since beta and I was doing anything I can to get a beta key and when i finally did, guess what... It didn't run with my GPU. But not anymore ) Anyway I digress, soo yeah I think that's pretty much it. I will try to take as much pics as I can and I will update this as parts arrive and as i make my PC. Soo wish me luck I guess and I will be seeing you around. B)

Build log thread - Planning & Prework & Beer
Thecrazyswede posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
So this thread started with me thinking partially hard one day what really can be done with mITX cases, all while building a mini gaming rig in a Node 304 for a close friend of mine, and when it was ready i thought to myself, this case is pretty good, but what could be better ?. What can be improved on this very nice small form factor icon, well that's what this thread is about, simply to tease/preview for upcoming projects and what you are planning and might want to show & inspire or simply just tease, all is welcome! This is my little pet project that i am planing and testing stuff on right now, case is an older node 304 i got from a friend. As a bonus i took a picture of my caselabs S5 that have been laying like this since late august because i just do not have time to build my own rig. feel free to post your own projects! If there is a similar thread then by all means remove this one- 2 replies

Rational So this project is all about being small, somewhat portable, upgradable, and last but not least, hidden from the public view. History The desk I am using first belong to my brother who now have a newer, metal desk. I acquire this desk when I first place my first gaming PC on it because of the lack of space inside our house. Two years have been past and now I'm using the desk drawer as a PC case. It sounds really unique and I really wanted to try this just because not only to show off but to get my project onto the WAN Show, hopefully it does. Codename: Namu Namu in Korean means wood, which the entire computer is built around and also I'm Korean too, which gives me the right to name this project a Korean name. Computer Components I'm using the old components from my old PC, just moving them into my drawer, so try not to laugh at the specs CPU: Intel Core I7 2700K (Non Overclock, non Hyperthreaded due to heat reasons) CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo (Pull) Mobo: Asus P8Z68V Pro Gen 3 RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline Stilettos 2x4 GB 1333MHZ (Going to upgrade to 16GB later) Video Card: Gigabyte GTX 560 WindForce Overclock edition (However due to heat and cooling problems, I'm going to clock it down to stock, plus I'm also going to upgrade to an R9 280X sometimes in the coming weeks) PSU:XFX XXX 750W 80+ Silver Semi-Modular SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 128 GB HHD: Hitachi 1 TB Case: Wooden Desktop Drawer Fans: 2x Bitfenix OEM Specters, 1x Coolermaster OEM Hyper 212 Evo fans (Properly going to upgrade to Noctuas NF-F12 for the CPU and NF-P12 for the case fans) Keyboard: CoolerMaster CM Storm Trigger Blue Key Switch Mechanical Keyboard Mouse: RAT 7 Mic Blue Yeti Headphone: KRK 6400 Monitors: Asus MX239 and some Generic HP Monitor Little Game Sorry for my camera being poor, Galaxy Note 2 I'm using Can you find my PC? (Without Cheating) Assembly: This shows how much junk was in the drawers. Most of these belong to my brother which he does't use anymore Measuring the drawer to make sure that the motherboard will fit Cleaning out the two drawers I'm going to use for the case Test fitting the motherboard into the drawer Foam board motherboard standoffs (Yeah I'm cheap) Cutout and test fit of the backplate Gluing on the motherboard "standoffs" Testing to see if it fits in the case (I'm using the stock cooler due to its slim height. Yeah I know it suck but oh well it's the best one I have) Cutout for the cables to come out from the PC to the monitors and peripherals Test fitting most of the components Testing to see if the drawer will fit into the table Cutout for the PCI slots (Not the straightest cuts, but oh well) Attaching the PCI bracket onto the case Changing the cooler to the Hyper 212 because I removed the height restriction on my case Another test fit More test fits Cutout for the case fans, one of them filtered with a mesh like material, FYI Duct Tape is your best, get it done quickly tape/material out there. Not pretty but it works Cable routing Final test fit Finally done and it works Temps at Idle (Pretty good for a case that is no bigger then some HTPCs)(If your wondering what background picture the image is showing is a picture of Toothless, a Night Fury from the film Dreamworks How to Train Your Dragon, just an FYI) Load temps only for the CPU which is pretty good in my opinion Finally a size comparison of my PC case (Item on the far left right next to the knob of the drawer is your $1 disposable pen. Right of the pen is a 25x137mm Target Practice Discarding - Tracer from a Bushmaster M242 chain gun, most commonly used in the M2 Bradly. This round that has been already fired and been replaced with a milled, aluminum alloy projectile. Next to the 25mm chain gun ammunition is a blank .50 cal BMG round or 12.7x99mm if you like the metric system. Why I have these is to compare and contrast size with bullets. Most gamers are FPS gamers and why not have a real .50 cal bullet to compare your computer to. Problems: Of course there are some problems with the project. Here are all the problems so far -Due to the fact that its a wooden case, EMI shielding is basically gone so I get interference from my Asus monitor speakers because of all the interference inside my PC that is not being shielded by the case. However this can be fixed if i used an external sound card like a Fiio E10, this should fix the problem. Right now I'm using my headphones that is connecting to my mic that is connecting to my PC via mini USB -Not the cleanest looking, nor the awesomeness looking case in the world but it's unique enough that I got away without any money -Overclocking is not really an option for this project due to the size of the case. However I might overclock it a bit if temps gets low enough to -Filter system is really sketchy, but that can be easily fixed with some OEM case filters -Power, reset, and all external USB ports cannot be really used without some further modifications Conclusion: Of course it not perfect, however it's the best I can do without any money and you guys can too if you are creative enough, Of course there will be upgrades however those are later things to come. I encourage you guys to comment on my project/builds and tell me what else I could do to further improve my PC. Updates: Further Update/Upgrades to come.

Descriptive I know;) But yes, I'm new to this forum despite the fact I have been watching Linus's channel for a couple of years. I have been building computers for about 7 years (casually) and am rather keen to learn more about what other people are into when it comes to computer parts/build habits:) So feel free to talk to me about your builds or link them to me:)
