Budget (including currency): 700 to 750 euro Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Minecraft server hosting, retro game emulation, light video editing/recording, CAD Other details what do you guys think of this build from pcpartpicker.com as a first pc build? https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/X6btt6/modest-amd-gaming-build I think I'm going to use this monitor (I'm not sure yet) https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TXTzK8/asus-tuf-gaming-vg27aq1a-270-2560x1440-170-hz-monitor-vg27aq1a I don't really care about refresh rate all that much but I do have a resolution in mind (1440p)

I'm embarking on my first PC build for college engineering, and I'm in need of your expertise to craft a machine that can tackle CAD, CAM, rendering, and gaming, all while staying within a reasonable budget. Budget: $1000-$1500 USD | Location: USA (West Coast) | No peripherals needed Usage Scenarios: CAD & CAM: My workload involves designing intricate 3D models, including 3D printers, robots, drones (the plane kind), and medical devices. CAM file generation, crucial for CNC machines, puts a significant strain on the CPU, requiring robust processing power. Research & Multitasking: I'm a multitasker with a penchant for research, often juggling numerous tabs and applications simultaneously. Rendering: I do a lot of blender renders on the stuff i CAD Gaming: My gaming preferences span from strategy titles like Factorio and Space Engineers to first-person shooters like CS:GO and Planetside. Build Preferences: I'm inclined towards a more compact build for portability, and after seeing a particularly inspiring Cooler Master NR200 setup, I'm considering a similar aesthetic. The clean look of a deshrouded GPU and a CPU cooler with substantial fins caught my eye. I'm open to exploring the aesthetics that make the build visually striking. example While I possess technical skills and have access to a full machine shop, 3D printer, and a variety of tools, building a PC is a new venture for me. I'm in no rush to complete the build, so any upcoming sales or new releases are factors I'm willing to consider. Your knowledge and insights will play a crucial role in shaping this project. To clarify, CAM work is CPU-intensive, and I'm looking to maximize processing power for efficient workflow. Your suggestions, tips, and experiences are highly valued as I navigate this exciting journey into PC building. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice for a budget motherboard + CPU + RAM combo for gaming. I already have a RX 580 8GB GPU so I'm looking to pair that with something suitable. My budget for the combo is around £100-£150. I'm looking at second hand, so far I'm looking at a Z77 mobo + i7-3770k + 16GB RAM that looks to be around that budget. I don't know if it's a good deal or I can find something slightly more recent for that budget. Thanks.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO PSU: Corsair CX 600 (pretty old but works well) Secondary memory: Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD Case: Thermaltake Case Mid Tower H200 Right now i want to use a sapphire r9 270x, but for christmas i'll buy (probably) a 1660 super. I have to buy a PSU. https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator tells me "recommended PSU wattage:353 W" so i was thinking about a 450W, but to be sure, i wanted a 500W at least. The same website recommend me this PSU: https://www.amazon.it/dp/B079KBPXZJ/?SubscriptionId=AKIAIGIKPS7N7DIKIGVQ&tag=xov-it-21&linkCode=xm2 but on the internet i read that this i much better: https://www.amazon.it/Corsair-CX550M-Alimentatore-Modulare-Bronze/dp/B019NWRUXK/ref=sr_1_2?__mk_it_IT=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=corsair%2B500w&qid=1603891731&s=pc&sr=1-2&th=1 75 euros is very expensive for me, but if i have to i'll get it.. is there something else on amazon.it, as good, for a lower or similar price? What do you guys recommend me? Thank you!

Budget (including currency): About £1000, GBP Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Playing the latest games, machine learning, video editing, basically I need it to handle anything I can throw at it. Other details: I am willing to get a PC that I can upgrade slowly, for example getting 1 X 16gb ram so I can buy another one in the future. I would like an M.2 nvme SSD, and a motherboard with pcie gen 4. I have a case, but with bad overall airflow. I currently have a 1080p monitor and need to upgrade to a 1440p one? I saw a MSI one at 144hz which would be good for the 6800xt?

Budget (including currency): 1500 € for PC and Case only. Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, light Photoshop / Blender / editing on the side (definitely not the focus). Eldenring at 60/1440p? Other details Hi Guys, I used to build my own PCs in the past, but that was back in 2013. The World has moved on since then, and what little knowledge I have retained from those days seems obsolete. Now I'm in need of a new Computer, and I've been thinking of getting back into PC building and I kinda just need some good reading material to be honest (or a good video). Mostly back to basic stuff, like what CPU pairs with which Motherboard letter/number pairs with what RAM etc.. Also what are the CPU / GPU Tiers now? Nvidia still seems straight forward, I don't understand with Intel any more and I was never an AMD guy. I'm also open to part suggestion for a learning by doing approach if that's more the speed here. TL,DR: Basically newbie trying to build a mid tier Gaming PC, please help. Thanks in advance.

Budget (~1,300): Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Elden ring, Forza horizon 5, emulators, running most games on high graphics. Nothing like 4k, will probably only really run in 1080p at first. Other details: Trying to keep it cheap, but still reasonably good. Starting almost fresh, last build was a 6-7 year old hand-me-down, only things salvageable are the cooler that was replaced and some decent case fans. I’m not able to run ether net so Wi-Fi is required. I’m mainly looking for value and function, willing to go some over budget if it is really worth it. Parts list I have together: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X8tQDq

Budget (including currency): 40,000 INR Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CSGO , Apex , Overwatch , Lost Ark , Dota 2 , LoL [ 1080p , 75 fps ] Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Already have SSD , monitor , keyboard , mouse EDIT : I also want to run 2 monitors with it I have already researched few parts and added to wishlist, please review and suggest if it is good enough for 1080p gaming of old titles and current esports titles at 75+ fps. Also, I will add a 6500XT or similar budget graphics next year ( under 20,000 INR ) - Will this build be able to then play latest AAA titles at 1080p 60 fps ? PS. Currently have a i5 laptop with 940 MX , getting 30 fps in csgo at low mid settings. -
Budget (including currency): US$1500 Country: Indonesia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Building Code (Currently it takes approx. 20mins each time) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current PC Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 12700F CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73 RGB 360mm GPU: ASUS RTX 3060 OC Motherboard: AsRock B600 Steel Legend RAM: 32GB XPG D50 PSU: CX650M Case: DeepCool CK650 I'm planning to upgrade to the Core i9 12900K to make my build a little bit faster, is there anything I need to change (except the CPU ofc) to accommodate that? As you can see here that the CPU is pegged at 100% currently when building: Thanks!

Budget (including currency): $1500 USD, maybe up to $1800 if it makes a huge difference Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Deep Rock Galactic, Hell Let Loose, WRC 10, DIRT Rally 2.0, Tarkov, ArcGIS Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom Other details: I have two 1440p monitors. One monitor is for gaming and day to day use that is 144hz and officially Freesync compatible, and unofficially G-Sync compatible (MSI Optix MAG271CQR). The other is a wide-gamut, color accurate display for color-sensitive work (EIZO ColorEdge CX271). I have a mouse and keyboard. I have an audio interface (M-Track 2x2) and studio monitors (KRK Rokit 5) for music, and headphones for gaming. My current rig is the Asus ROG GU501GM laptop. I have a 500gb boot drive and a 2tb SSD for storage, and 32gb of RAM. I'd like my desktop to have the same or better for storage and RAM. I'm hoping to build a desktop that I'll be able to use for gaming and work (GIS/remote sensing stuff) for the next many years. I'd like to be able to run my games at 1440p at a decent framerate (not less than 60fps hopefully). I'd also like a good CPU that doesn't get hung up or stutter under really heavy loads in ArcGIS Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop. I'd also like to have good I/O, with 4 or more USB-A ports, an HDMI, an anything else that'll make it future-proof/ easy to upgrade. Oh, and Bluetooth and WIFI as well. I don't care tooooo much about how it looks, I care much more about keeping the price down and getting good components, as well as retaining upgradability for the future. I'd rather spend an extra $100-$200 and be really happy with my build than regret not getting something that makes my life easier/better. I am definitely open to buying used equipment, but I realize that that's something I'll need to hunt for on my own. I'm just unsure of what to look for currently. Thank you so much for reading my post!

Building my first PC on my own The motherboard I picked out is the Asus ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151. I want to install in the NZXT h210i Case, and I don't know if this motherboard has the connector for the usb/usb-c/audio inputs at the front of the case. If anyone knows or has experience It would be appreciated.

My first time Building a PC on my own! Doing something small because I have limited space at my desk for a PC at my parents house (its a built in PC "slot"). Also want it to be compact enough to take back to college after quarantine ends. Right now my legs barely have room to fit cus of this massive old cooler-master tower lol. I want something that I wont really have to upgrade for the next few years, and I'm not playing any games that required a ton of performance. This is what I have so far (I'm set on the tower because of the space): Case: NZXT H210i Mini ITX Tower Case Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler: CRYORIG C7 40.5 CFM CPU Cooler OR NZXT Kraken X52 Rev 2 73.11 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card Power Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Will this all work and fit? I Underlined CPU Cooler because I'm torn between the two. Idk if I want to go with an AIO cooler. I'm going to set up the exhaust fan in the back and jerry rig an exhaust vent in the side of this built in desk slot. Thanks for the tips yall

So, first off I'm swiss, 14 and I don't speak English very well so please excuse that. I wanna build my first own PC. Right now I use a prebuilt Acer Predator G3-605 with an Intel i7 4770 and I upgraded it like around 1 year ago with a GTX 970. I think upgrading is not really an option because I know nothing about the PC and can't seem to find any information about my Motherboard etc. I'll probably use it as a server or something, not sure yet. I've been saving for some time now and have around 2000.- (CHF) for my PC Build. Ryzen caught my attention because I wanna use my PC for streaming, 4K video and photo Editing and Gaming. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZZqJ2R this is the build I made. What do you guys think, do you have any advice or something you would change? I know you are probably gonna tell me that Ryzen is bad for 1080p gaming or that a GTX 1080Ti is overkill for 1080p gaming. But I actually wanna upgrade my monitor to 1440p and 4K for editing and gaming, so I think this build is the best way to go for the next 4-6 years right? If there's anything you would change or you don't like about it feel free to tell me. I'm open-minded and I know it can't be perfect because it is my first build I ever made.

I'm thinking of putting together a gaming/live streaming rig for my growing YouTube channel. I'm currently using OBS for software and relying on hardware encoding. I'm currently doing 1080p HD content but want to grow past that. Hoping to pick up VR content and 1440p which is currently beyond my current rig can sustain. I'm planning on waiting till after thread ripper has been on the market for a few months to see how intel responds. Is there anything that I should be looking into or be aware of that could bork a solid rig or pocket book for this use case?

Hello internet, I just had my older laptop motherboard die and I've been thinking about an upgrade to a desktop due to slow downs for a few months... I need a computer (this is from my phone) but I don't have anything saved up (I'm a grad student) and I'm moving in 2 months so I'm looking for the best quick fix or overall solution. I can save some of my stipend for the next year and get a new PC I need later. It has a 256GB NVMe drive (OCZ RD400), a HGST 1TB 7200RPM HDD, two 16GB sticks of generic SODIM RAM, and an i7-7700k... (I'm fairly certain the laptop GTX 1060 is not going to help) Is it worth getting SODIM converters and using the CPU? It has years of very toasty use already and I'm not sure if I should just try and sell them for some quick cash or use them. Also my OS is on the SSD, does anyone know if I throw that into another system if there will be issues (it's Windows 10) Any advice would be appreciated, and I also don't know if it's worth dropping a couple hundred now for it... I don't want to replace the motherboard because I leave it plugged in and on all day to remote into from my lab, and that's probably why it fried it to begin with. Thanks for reading! Edit: sorry it wasn't earlier but less than $500 I can do pretty well for now, and I'm in the US (motherboard replacement is $460 USD plus shipping

Hi guys, just want your opinion on the following build that im looking at putting together in the next few weeks. I have experience building computers but have not for a little while now, so would be great to get your feedback. Maybe there's a particular part that would be better replaced by something else? More than happy to hear your thoughts. The build will be for gaming and design work. Also want to note that i currently have a gaming laptop (Core i7-8750/GTX 1060/16GB 2400 RAM), but not ideal for my workstation having all the wires and also want to go back to desktop build (that ill sit under the desk) that i can just upgrade every now and then. I'm not savvy with laptops and dont want to open them up to upgrade, if possible. I'll be selling the laptop to fund most of this build. The components: - AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8 Core Socket AM4 4.1GHz CPU Processor + Wraith Spire Cooler - GA-B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI AM4 ATX Motherboard - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC 2x Windforce 6GB - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 CL16 3200MHz - Samsung 970 Pro 512GB NVMe 1.3 M.2 (2280) 3D V-NAND SSD - Corsair RM650x 650W 80 Plus V2 Gold Fully Modular - Corsair Carbide 275R Tempered Glass Mid-Tower Case So there it is guys. If anything is overkill or there is an equivalent that's a better price, i'd love to save some $$$. I've gone with Gigabyte and Corsair as i've always used them for builds and never had any issues whatsoever and trust those brands. If there are any others that you recommend, feel free to suggest. Thanks! Nick

Hey everyone! Tax returns are right around the corner for us in the US and with that comes a little bit of leasure money for me. I haven't put much into my gaming PC in a while so it got me thinking, I really want to build a new computer but wouldn't have all of the money right now... So should I save this extra cash for a day that I can build an entire new computer or could I upgrade my gpu now to get some more years out of my current rig? Below is the main parts of what I use as my daily driver: EVGA Gtx 970 (forget the actual model...) i5-3570k 16gb Corsiar Vengeance ram 500 gb Samsung 860 Evo 2TB hard drive storage I want to get the most out of my current system and it's not entirely holding me back from the games that I'm currently playing. It would be nice to play them on high qualities or get more that 45ish fps though haha. So I guess I'm asking, is my PC more of a lost cause or could I get a few more years out of it with a new GPU? If a new GPU is the answer, I was thinking about a RTX 2060. I don't know what one to go with though... Thank you all in advance!

Hi everyone, i'll get straight to the point here when it comes to pc components my knowledge basically extends to: the bigger the number the faster it goes, im really quite a noob when it comes to pc building. That being said, i'm tired of barely hitting 60fps on new releases with my current setup (Asus laptop with an i7-8750h, 16 gigs of ram and a 1050ti for anyone who cares) and i'd really like to take things up a notch. My current budget is somewhere between AUD$3000 and AUD$4500 so im looking to build something pretty powerful. The aim of the system really is just for high end gaming, my laptop is fine for productivity and portability so i'd really just like to be able to put a machine together that will let me enjoy high performance for the next few years. Components CPU I'd like to run either an i7-9700k or an i9-9900k for the CPU, i know the latest top of the range Ryzen outperforms the i9 in some cases but i'm more inclined towards intel. Motherboard From what ive heard the Asus ROG Maximus XI motherboards are the leading product when it comes to mobos however out of all PC components motherboards are the ones i know the least about so advice on this would be greatly appreciated. RAM As for RAM, 32 gigs of DDR4 is preferable and from what i've read G.skill trident z RAM seems to be pretty popular. my knowledge of ram timings is minimal so if someone can enlighten me on what they mean for performance i would be very appreciative. GPU Budget permitting i'd like to get a GTX 2080, however the 2070 is probably more within my price range again, and i know i probably sound like i need my hand held through all of this but opinions on what would be more suitable are appreciated. I'd also like some advice on which manufacturer to go with as there is some pretty significant price variation between MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, etc. Cooling Cooling is another area in which i know very little, my assumption is that standard air cooling for the cpu probably wont be enough when dealing with the parts i've mentioned and as such i'd probably have to get an AIO of some kind opinions on this are again very helpful. Case cooling is also something i'd like advice on, do i just want to keep the air flowing from one end of the case to the other with the biggest fans i can fit or is there some sort of magic solution to keeping my components from becoming fancy looking scrap metal. PSU As for the PSU i'm fairly sure i'll want something >700 watts to run the parts ive mentioned, Size and brand suggestions would be helpful. noise isnt that big of a deal for me realistically. Case The case i pick is something of a non-issue at the moment as i'm much more concerned with nailing down the guts of my build however if you have a case in mind i'd love to hear about it. Periperals At the moment i already have a fairly decent 144hz 1440p 27" curved monitor that i'm pretty happy with and i'll probably look into getting a second one in the 4-500 (AUD) range later down the line I dont currently have a decent keyboard or mouse however i'll probably go for a mouse from the Steelseries Rival series to match my Arctis 5 headset and i'll likely get one of their keyboards as well. If you believe a different brand is superior however please let me know.

Hi! It's been 3-4 years since i've built my computer and i think it's about time i upgrade it. So I'd like to know what parts are the worst and by which ones i should be replacing them. I want my computer to be gaming (aiming for 1080p 60fps) oriented as much as possible, no streaming, no video editing, or any kind of madness. I'm willing to invest as much as 800$ for the whole rig. My parts : CPU : AMD FX-8300 3.3Ghz CPU cooler : Cryorig H7 plus RAM : 2x 8Gb DDR3 1866Mhz Motherboard : MSI 970A-G43 PLUS GPU : GTX 1050ti OC Case : Aerocool cl-102 (just bought a Phanteks p300) and a 560W power supply... While building my current rig, i've made a mistake, i took 16Gb of RAM thinking i could reuse it when upgrading but now DDR4 is the minimum. I also like to know how parts will evolve in the future in order to avoid making the same kind of mistakes. Thanks in advance I should add that i live in France.

I've watched so many videos and browsed so many threads. I've exhausted my brain trying to piece together something on a partpicker. My budget for the total system is in the 1,000 usd ballpark. I'm starting from scratch and the only game I care to play is Destiny 2. I'm continuing my research and taking everything in, but a good place to start would help me out. Thanks a ton.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): First-ever build for a creative that's been with Apple for decades. Currently using a 2016 Macbook Pro - 16GB ram. Don't need mouse or keyboard. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor but don't mind gaming at 1080p with a higher refresh rate. I included 3 SSDs for my Adobe scratch disk setup (might be a bit overkill to be honest): 1 for OS (gen 3 NVME) 1 for files (SATA SSD) 1 for scratch (gen 4 NVME) My main question is which GPU to choose. I've gone for 5700 XT as a best bang for buck option. But I'm tempted to save myself £100-ish and go for an EVGA 2060 - then upgrade next year at some point when the 30xx series or Big Navis are out and established. 5700 XT does also leave the door open a Hackintosh - but that's not a deal-breaker. Not really interested in water cooling, and I hear the Noctua D15 will more than keep the 3950x at bay. I'm not planning on overclocking in the near term but may try it out down the line. Budget is around £2,000. Does it make sense as a build? Still learning about a lot of this stuff. Thanks in advance. The three vertical fans on the front face are pulling in, the two fans right behind them are pushing out through the 240mm Rad for the cpu, and I've got the one on top above the cpu and the one at the top rear both pushing out. Just wondering if there's a better way. Might be worth mentioning that my gpu seems to exhaust straight out its back plate but I haven't noticed any performance hit since putting it in the vertical mount. Also, let me know what you guys think of the build in general. It's a frankenstein born out of piece by piece purchases in attempts to burn gambling luck somewhere other than directly back into the site, here's the list. MSI Z390-A Pro i9-9900k 5.0ghz All Core 1.32v Rosewill (I think) P240-RGB AIO Asus RTX 2060 Super comfortably at 2100Mhz 4x 8gb GSkill Trident RGB 3200Mhz DDR4 Samsung 970 EVO 1TB V-NAND NVMe m.2 SSD Samsung 860 EVO 1TB Sata SSD (mounted behind the motherboard) Toshiba USB 3.0 1TB External HDD Corsair TX650 PSU (taken from an my previous ROG build) All wrapped up in a Thermaltake Level 20MT ARGB Case. (Featuring Tesla Model 3) I suppose, technically speaking, this is my first actual build that I myself chose hardware, funded it, and put it all together all on my own. I look forward to absolutely any sort of feedback, be it function, aesthetic, ridicule, or declaration of love.
