  1. Ello people of the LTT Forums, I'm here on a grand journey of trying to get a somewhat capable system without it being an outrageous price. - Budget & Location: Looking to go probably between $800-$900 ($USD)max on the build. - Aim: It'll mainly be used for gaming most of the time, but I do occasionally stream and do some video editing here and there. The games I've been mainly playing are Fortnite and Dead by Daylight. Fortnite I need to run on higher settings to get the graphics I need for the video editing stuff. - Monitors: Both monitors I have are 1080p at 60hz. Not the best, but they do just fine for me and I don't plan on trading them out anytime soon. - Peripherals: I don't need any other peripherals at the moment unless I decide to pick up some wireless stuff like a mouse and keyboard since the cords may not be long enough depending on where the build goes. I shouldn't need a Windows license but the system may decide otherwise. - Why are you upgrading?: My old system was an ASUS TUF Gaming A15 2022 model laptop, and it lasted me only about a year and a half before kicking the bucket and dying on me. I'm currently running an old pre-built, the Alienware Aurora R8, but the specs in it are far from great and don't suffice for what I need it to do. My current plan while I slowly earn the money to build the full system is most likely to buy the parts slowly, adding them to this system while I can until I can get the proper case, motherboard, and PSU. My current system (The Aurora R8) has an Intel Core i5 9400 @ 2.90GHz, an AMD Radeon RX 560X 4GB, 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR4 @ 1330MHz, and the Alienware 0R3FWM (U3E1) motherboard. The parts I'm currently planning on getting over time are listed in the provided screenshot, grabbed from PCPartPicker. I'm not the best when it comes to all this, and it would be my first legitimate PC build, but I'm somewhat knowledgeable and should be able to understand some things about this stuff. If anything if anyone can suggest any cheaper picks that may round out to similar performance let me know, trying to save as much as I can.
  2. Budget (including currency): $500 USD, or as close to that number as possible, as she's a bit constrained for cash right now. Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming on OBS and for games, she currently only plays cozy games that run well on her steam deck, however, she wants to branch out and play FPS games like COD or adventure games like Baldur's Gate 3, Monster Hunter, and The Forest 2. Other details Currently she's been using her Steam Deck as her streaming/gaming device and has run into crashes with certain games while streaming. She already has peripherals and 2 monitors (Spectre Curved 24" 75hz Professional LED Monitor 1080p 2021) that she uses with her current set-up. She's new to PC and isn't picky about if she needs to downgrade settings to medium if necessary, as long as it runs while she streams and it's not awful to look at from a viewer's perspective on Twitch. I'm providing a link to what I have so far for her build via PCPartPicker and am just looking to see opinions on how I can maximize her performance for the best price. I already know that the current price tag is over the budget amount and I'm hoping to offset some of that cost using resources like E-Bay to get some better deals. Any solid input is greatly appreciated! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/stickart95/saved/#view=bbk2kL
  3. Budget (including currency): 130,000 BDT Country: Bangladesh Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc.): Many people suggested RTX 3060 Ventus 2X which is 35,000BDT in my Country. You can suggest me from these websites for price differences 1, 2 and 3. Requirements: - Fast rendering for 4K editing/works - Minimum 1TB Storage - No Lighting is Mandatory but if lighting is available I want to be able to turn it off not much of a lighting fan. - 4 memory slots if possible for future upgrade - No monitor required. Update: I think for CPU i will go with i5-13600K.
  4. Budget (including currency): 100,000 NPR (850 USD) Country: Nepal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: My friend wants to build a PC. He wants to play some fps shooter games like Valorant, warzone and maybe EA Fc 24. He also wants to learn video editing in the future. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Budget includes PC only. He wants smooth gameplay for his games. He wants ig 1080p resolution.
  5. Budget (including currency): £800 - £1000 GBP Country: UK Hi all, I'm looking at building a PC mainly for the experience of building a PC, but also to run, test and store personal coding projects. I'm finding all the hardware a bit daunting and would like something that is reasonably priced but still runs decently. More in depth uses: Code Compiling Running VM's Running multiple node servers Playing with Arduinos Home Automation Wanted Features: Wifi would be prefferable but not needed Ability to have a GUI thinking either Windows 11 or Ubuntu as the OS A quiet system Size is a mid sized tower with ATX motherboard The ability to upgrade in the future USB 3.0 X 2 HDMI X 2 USB C X 1 Here is a link to some parts that i thought might be good, but feel free to change any of them to more suitable parts https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/XqLhC6. Thanks for any help :)
  6. Hello! My current laptop (Dell Latitude E7270) is shutting down frequently, slow, the storage is full and don't even try to open MS Teams and Google Chrome at the same time. I want to build a new PC. I am new to this PC-build-thingy, so I'd appreciate it if you could suggest me some parts. My budget is 1000-1500$ max. I will be using the PC for gaming, studying, video editing, streaming and pretty much using it as a universal desktop. I know asus is a good brand, but nothing else. It would also help if you would suggest a monitor in that budget with the PC as well. Thank you!
  7. Budget (including currency): $500 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: fortnite, valorant, rust, lotta games im not remembering Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a dell 9020 I upgraded with an rx 470 4gb and a 600w psu, and an SSD of course. Anyways, this setup is really not wanting to run my games at 1440p, which is the monitor I have. Any upgrade ideas? Im thinking 1080 or 2060, but im concerned that the cpu will be heavily bottle-necking anything more powerful than a 470, and I think it already may be doing so. Would a cpu upgrade be worth it too? And which cpu? Would a motherboard upgrade be a good idea as well? Thanks
  8. Budget (including currency): 500,000 mmk (Roughly 280 USD) Country: Myanmar Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Several Triple A titles. A Little bit of here and there. I can live with medium or low settings. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Note- Unless specified, they are used parts. CPU - Intel Xeon X5650 CPU Cooler- Random Flower Type Heat Sink Cooler MoBo - Random Chinese MoBo Ram - DDR3 1333mhz 16Gb (Single Stick) GPU - Galax GTX 950 2 Gb Storage - 120 Gb SSD (Ofcourse, there's no Dram cache) PSU - A bit reputable chinese PSU 500watt (New) Case - Really cheap chinese looking case. Case Fan - Two ugly chinese case fans Monitor - HKC 1366 x 766 unknown panel. (It is LED apparently) All of the parts described above for, no more and no less than 255 USD. I would like to know, if I should pull the trigger and go wild, Or wait for a better deal? I am planning to add a 1 Tb HDD (new) if I bought this set. ps; English is not my mother language and I am new to any tech forums so, go easy on me please. Peace! : )
  9. Budget (including currency): 150000 HUF Country: Hungary Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cod Warzone, Phasmophobia, GTA 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, F1 2020/2021, and newer games that will come out Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): What i currently have: CPU: I5-9400F GPU: GTX 1650Super 4gb 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 RAM a random 500w psu TUF GAMING B360M-E MOBO What i need: Maybe a new cpu cooler A better GPU
  10. Budget (including currency): 25 NZD Country: New Zealand Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Emulation and older PC games like Fuel (https://www.codemasters.com/game/fuel/). (from gameboy era up until ps2 era, wii, maybe xbox, although i have no idea how to get an xbox emulator working) Other detail: The whole idea of this project is trying to make something interesting and to have fun putting it together really! GPU: ATI HD 4870 (1GB GDDR5 version) (https://videocardz.net/msi-radeon-hd-4870-1gb) CPU: AMD Athlon x2 240 CPU cooler: stock AMD heatsink Motherboard: ASUS M4N68T-M (V1) https://www.asus.com/SupportOnly/M4N68TM/HelpDesk_CPU/ RAM: single 4GB stick of ddr3 1066 Mhz PSU: cooler master 400 watt 80 plus case: some old no name thing (I plan on heavily modding it and making it mostly mesh just as a fun little project) HDD: old seagate 1TB drive Optical drive: old liteon drive (there is also a floppy drive that I ended up removing) Mouse: Logitech G400s Keyboard: compaq kpq-e99ac-7 (old keyboard from the 90's i found for a dollar) I'll be running at 1600 x 900 60Hz. Questions/advice? - GPU: When i first fired it up I realised the fan on the gpu was scraping against the decorative metal blades that cover the fan so I bent them up and away from the fan that fixed the issue. I'm considering completely removing the blades so that the fan gets more air, but I'm not sure if that would be worth it. - Case fans: There were 2 80mm fans in the case (both molex fans) one of them was extremely noisy so i removed it. I'm not sure if i can repair the fan somehow to fix the noise issue? I currently have the one fan mounted as an intake in the front of the case, but I'm thinking of mounting it on the side panel right by the gpu (since it gets extremely hot). The PSU is mounted in the top of the case, so i figured That would be my exhaust fan. - CPU upgrade. I'm not sure if it's worth putting a different CPU in. I wouldn't want to update the BIOS, because I really don't want to brick the motherboard. Other CPU's I have available (got them for a buck bulk) Athlon X2 4000, athlon x2 2550, athlon 785, athlon 5000, athlon x2 3600. I don't know if these are all working, which is why I don't want to risk updating the BIOS. I'm also concerned about powerdraw since I've seen online that a 450 w psu is recommended for the 4870. - RAM. I'm not sure if 4GB is enough for what I want to do. I think it should be fine but not 100% sure. - PSU. As mentioned before I'm a little concerned about the wattage, since the PSU only had one 6 pin connector and the GPU requires 2, I had to get a molex to 6 pin adapter Any advice/ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  11. Budget (including currency): $500-700 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Clip Studio Paint, Sims 4, any PC/Steam games. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am VERY new to this so any information is greatly appreciated. I came to this website right after having watched several of Linus Tech Tips videos. I am looking for a good budget pc so I can upgrade from my macbook to a good computer setup for work and entertainment. I originally wanted to get a mac mini, but seeing how the typical games that I can play is unavailable on most apple products, so I changed my mind. I also learned that PC can last longer and is easy to upgrade, which will save me a lot of money in the long run. I do plan to get two monitors from this recommendation by my friend, https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-E205W-16003R-Frameless-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B07743412C/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjo2JBhCRARIsAFG667UHzZImbRe3Jsv4qBBki6IHSQQzMMOoq5xDB6gV1DUSNF8AvQ-pC9EaAn2zEALw_wcB&hvadid=323650943678&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9023230&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=16045696278323974252&hvtargid=kwd-654166158191&hydadcr=729_1012416362&keywords=20+inch+sceptre+monitor&qid=1629749683&sr=8-2. In summary, I do want to buy a budget PC soon as possible and I'm open to any suggestions! Thank you for reading!
  12. Budget (50000 rupees): Country: india Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming mainly Other details (it should be able to run at 60 fps in harsh conditions of minecraft like with shaders and high workload parts I decided are:- Amd ryzen 5 2600x Cpu case (from shop) Gtx1650 super graphics card 8gb ram (X2) Motherboard to be decide in store Monitor benq borderless eye care 24 inch Mouse Logitech (from store) Keyboard any normal (from store) Power supply unit 450W 720p/30 fps webcam with in built-mic Full deskpad Windows 10 pro Ms office package Ms animateCC Microsoft edge Ms xbox subscribtion GtaV Valorant Minecraft And it should be able to use emulator means have vt and work flawlessly when playing pubg or any other game
  13. Budget (including currency): 750~1000€ Country: Bulgaria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly Blender (3d modelling + rendering), Spine Pro, Quixel Mixer (maybe), Clip Studio Paint, To a lesser extent Da Vinci Resolve, Light Gaming (I mostly play Indie) and maybe very later down the line some music/audio related projects. Right, so my PC went kaput recently - started BSOD-ing constantly, the mobo fried (clean your PC regularly kids) and now, when i turn it on, the screen is pitch-black and the PC doesn't turn off unless i manually shut the PSU down. So, i guess I'm in the market for a new Build. I do however also have a lot of questions. The main bottleneck I'm worrying about is my own skill level, as I'm still an amateur, to put it kindly. I also have some health issues, though temporary (I hope), that currently limit how much work I can do on a pc (nothing severe, but still a detriment). As such, I'm reluctant to spend too much money on something I probably wont be able to utilise fully, at least until both my skills and health improve; however I also don't really want to screw myself with something particularly bad either. I've boiled my options down to 2 potentially flexible variants: V1. The Low Budget Variant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bF4jv3 ~720€ V2. The Higher Budget One: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Nkgh2m ~1040€ I already have the PSU, the Monitor, some HDDs, an old ~128gb SSD with Windows installed and the Case to cannibalise from my previous build, also I don't know if it affects much but I also have an XP-Pen Display Tablet (so a second monitor essentially). I have been planning on switching to Linux as well due to general frustration with Windows and maybe keeping the old SSD for a dual-boot in case I need something specific. As a slight add I generally use this site: https://www.pazaruvaj.com/harduer-c3068/ to compare prices from local retailers; It doesn't have all of them and some are a bit shady, but it's otherwise been a good help. As it stands I'll probably order most, or at least a good chunk, of my parts from the retailer Plasico, so i don't have to worry about shipping from too many places and it's a fairly well liked store (if this info even matters). Just a heads up the prices are in lv./лв. so just slash whatever you see in half and you'll get the actual € value. A Thousand and One Questions: Q1: For V2 is it possible to go for 16gb RAM? Q2: For V2 is it also possible to go for a B450? Q3: Would a R5 3600 work with a 3060, or would it bottleneck and affect render times too much? Q4: Should I upgrade later, since apparently new parts would be coming out by the end of year and things might reduce in price? Q5: Or now, to avoid soaring prices if inflation and supply chain stuff is at too high a risk? Q6: Or am i overthinking it? Q7: How useful would an NVME be, or is it more of a luxury buy? Q8: Is it preferred to install the OS on a separate partition and/or drive or is it unnecessary? Q9: Is resell-ability something I should keep in mind when buying a system or does tech advance too fast for it to matter? Q10: Should I worry about BIOS version compatibility or is upgrading it easy enough? That's about it for now, I think. I hope this isn't too hard of a read, I don't really post on forums much. Thank you in advance for any help. Have a good one.

  15. Hello there, I'm new in this forum and I still very curious about PSU's Performance, and Quality. Can you help me to decide wich PSU would be a better option for me? I live in Venezuela ans there's such a lot of PSU's Brands here. I'm About to build a new budget PC, but the current PSU I'm using is the EVGA 600W (100-W1-0600-K2) I'm not sure how much it could handdle even being a 600 watts PSU (I have heard is a low quality PSU) So these are the New Specs: MB: ASRock B450M P4 2.0 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz 32GB 4x8GB CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 3x Fan CoolerMaster AirFlow SSD 120GB Kingston SSDNow 300 SSD 1TB Crucial I do Graphic Design and a little of simple 3D Modelating (Packaging) on Adobe Dimension Which PSU I can take without seeing my budget PC burning in hell? 16. Hello guys. So my friend wants me to build him a PC which will be able to run Fortnite at around 144 fps. He doesn't have much money so his budget is around £400. I have a build in mind but I would like your opinion. I'm from UK if that helps.
  17. Hello guys. My friend is building a new PC and would like to know if this PC would be able to stream while playing fortnite at 144fps. This is competitive btw so lots of endgames. CPU: i7 4790 GPU: gtx 970 Ram: 16gb ddr3
  18. Hi, I'm currently studying to become a techer and I need a new laptop soon as my old one is giving out. I only need to be able to do basic googling and work in Word, as well as videostreaming from YouTube and such. Light gaming is just a bonus. 240GB of storage is a must, and I don't want to pay more than necessary. My current laptop has a 768p screen, so nothing more then that is really needed. I would also like to stay away from chromebooks if that is possible. What are some good options that suit my needs? All answers are appreciated! PS: I live in Norway so some deals might not be available to me. Things like Amazon-spesific deals won't work, as most things no Amazon either don't ship to Norway at all, or has hute shipping costs attached.
  19. As the title says, i recently found my local shop selling a complete computer (w/ pheripherals) for 266 US Dollars. the specs are as follows: -Ryzen 3 2200G -Gigabyte-H/Msi A320M Pro-E Mobo -8gb 2400mhz ddr4 RAM -Hp Keyboard & Mouse USB -Badwolf Headset w/ LED -Casing w/ 700w PSU -500gb Hard Disk Drive -22 inches wide monitor LED (used) I haven't got into touch with them yet as for the specifics of the other components, but is that a good deal?
  20. Hi Guys, I was planning to build a really basic PC for my dads shop, he only does excel work and light photoshop. i live india and on a tight budget of 15k INR thats nearly 200$. i already have a geforce 210 GPU from a previous build. So thanks really would appreciate the help.
  21. Im just planning to upgrade my pc, now im just confusing about the socket of the cpu ( Intel Pentium G4560), what socket did the cpu use , lga 1150 or 1151??? Also recommend some motherboard please . I will suggest u to recommend the Gigabyte and Asus board because in my country these board can claim the warranty easily than other brand of board such as Msi Asrock ....... Thanks for your helping
  22. Hey guys, I'm gonna need some advice on my rig. I've been using this like 4 years from now for gaming and surfing. I did some improvements on the rig but I'm not sure if I'm using it right or if I did something wrong. I just want to get the "best" out of this build. Here are the specs of it and some issues that I want to mention, the whole system and some questions about it down there. What I'd like to have is your comments and some advice on it. (fyi, I can't spend any money for it since I am unemployed at this very moment and will be for 3-5 months more.) Specs Spoilers contain Spec lists of the components. And click on components to go the manufacturer's website for the product itself. (as much detail as possible cos why not.) Mobo: MSI 970 gaming socket AM3+ Cpu: AMD 8120 / 3.1 GHz Black Edition (couldn't find the official cpu page) Vga: Sapphire Tri-X R9 290X 4G GDDR5 Memory(s): Silicon Power Xpower 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 2133 Ram Psu: Xilence XP700 700W 135MM Fan Gaming Series 80+ Power Supply Chasis: Zalman Z3 plus ATX mid tower Computer Case Ssd: 500gb Samsung ssd 750 evo -> contains my geniune win10 pro, and games and stuff. Cpu Cooler: Zalman LQ 310 Single fan with push-pull, installed. Chipset cooler: Xigmatek Porter Chipset Cooler (N881) interesting part here, I am using it but I don't know do I still need it, with a 8cm silent fan operated by motherboard. I'll be sharing HWmonitor temperatures because that was why I felt the need of using this "chipset cooler" because why not. Hdd1: 2tb WD green 7200rpm sata 3.0 (used to be external but it's "external adapter circut board(not sure it's the name for it)" stopped working, now it's internal), contains my steam games but it has bad sectors in it. Sometimes I have to copy what I can from the game backup with Jfile recovery and make steam redownload the broken data. Hdd2: 1tb WD blue 7200rpm sata 3.0 (empty) sometimes I install linux on it and be happy. Hdd3: 2tb WD my book external usb 3.0 -> contains all my data (photos, backups, etc) I don't always put both 2 internal hdd Sound card: I use Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI soundcard because the on board sound quality of this particular motherboard of MSI is absolutely disgusting. OK. It's not much right? But the performance I'm getting from it is not my issue and It's totally fine imo. But temperature levels and noise pollution totally are. Which is why I've decided to share all the details with my rig to you guys and hear you out. I don't overclock it. It runs everything on stock with latest build of win10 pro as OS and always updated, latest drivers from amd for r9 290x, latest drivers of everything on the setup. I'm using it for gaming, surfing, I do maintenance for once in 3 months; I change thermal paste, I remove dust and I believe the cable management is OK (not perfect but really enough to not to block the airflow if you check out some pics at the attachment part ) And I use this thermal paste (click to go the manufacturer website) maybe this is an issue? TX Thermal Paste 30g model TXCCT3OG Thermal conductivity ≥ 1.93 W/m-K Thermal impedance < 0.255°C-in²/W The airflow looks like this; (the weird heatsink at the middle is a chipset cooler which I stated on my specs) So what do you think? Is the airflow ok? Should I keep using that chipset cooler or not? There used to be the stock heatsink on the chipset which is that; But I've changed it with a custom, bigger heatsink works with a 8cm fan that I mentioned up here because my pc was running hot. But that didn't work. Yeah AMD systems runs hot I know. But still I wanted to do something about it. I wonder why it runs so hot and I don't know whether some Intel systems overheat that much too. Below there are temps. Here are my temperatures from HwMonitor after gaming (Dirt Rally on ultra 1080p) for an hour; When I was gaming, ambient temp was 15-20 celcius See the tmpin1 temp on hwmonitor? 91 celcius max. I mean what is that? It runs 80 - 90 celcius when I game. It's not the chipset in that case right? Because installing an aftermarket heatsink didn't help. I was getting the same temperature levels before installing it and now it still runs hot. About the noise issue, some might say it's silent when it's idle. But I can't stand even to that noise and while gaming, I use headphones to not to hear it. But I have a surround sound system and I'm not hearing it clearly when the volume is low enough to not to wake anyone up in the house. This is the best I could get with what I have.. I mean, would Noctua fans run more silent? Sorry I can't measure the sound of it and post it here somehow. But I can say it's loud for me. Maybe it's not loud for any other user out there but I don't know. How is your system running? For example if you have an intel system and an nvidia card, would that run more silent? how can I make this rig "dead silent"? or I can't? If I have a custom water cooled system with all the blocks and stuff, would it be silent? And of course what do you suggest me to do with what I have? If i spend a little on something you suggest, what can I achieve? Is something wrong with this rig? I need all of your suggestions and comments really. And I included some more photos of my setup at the attachments if you'd like to see the system from different angles. I guess that's it.. Had a lot of questions for you guys. Thank you for your time and please enlighten me if you have anything to say about this setup.
  23. I want to build a pc for under 400 cad. I would love if it could play games like gta v around 30-40 fps. stuff like that. pretty much ps4 performance gaming PC.
  24. As a proud member of PC Master Race I cannot let my friend become console peasant but when you can buy a new console for £220 (~$265) its hard to compete... The problem is that my friend cannot play fifa 17 on his old laptop so he wants to buy a console since its cheaper and he already got a TV but if he wanted to play on pc he would have to buy monitor and keyboard and for that price its hard. (he doesn't need a mice) so are there any builds for £220 ? (i am not sure if he minds having used parts but you can still put them in there)
  25. This is regarding my first ever PC Build so please be a little specific, and in advance I thank you! So i'm looking for a relatively good build at around 400-750 Euros budget. I'd like to run ARK Survival Evolved with some pretty good looking graphics, and also i'd like to use it for programming. I'm a gamer so obviously i'll want to play more games other than ARK:SE so can you please tell me a few games your selected builds can run? And if they have flaws list them? Thank you for helping and reading this post!
