  1. Budget (including currency): 260 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, light editing Other details: currently just waiting on my case to arrive, I have all other parts needed. Parts include a Gigabyte B365M motherboard, EVGA 1660, i5-9600, Crucial 32gb DDR4 3200mhz RAM, 750w PSU, Crucial 1tb M.2, and a cheapo cooler. Managed to come in so cheap as I traded a "freedom stick" for the CPU, GPU and MoBo. I most definitely will be re-building this sooner rather than later because I'm sure there are several games I'll want to run higher. This will be my first PC aside from a CyberPower pre built I had a few years ago that I had to sell due to finances. Very excited to try my hand building one. LTTs budget build videos inspired me to try to cobble it together as cheaply as possible. I don't have a monitor yet so I'll be using a 19in spectre TV lol
  2. Budget (including currency): $400-$500 Country: America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p AAA games Other details : I have the following parts (in bold) and am looking to build a new PC with those and your suggested parts. Basically, what should I buy as far as CPU, motherboard etc. to complete this build for 400-500 dollars? CPU: already have another AMD system but not opposed to intel CPU cooler: no preference Motherboard: would prefer smaller such as micro ATX Memory: DDR4 hyper x fury 3200 16GB kit Storage: has to be SSD GPU: RTX 3060 ti Case: already have a random HP case PSU: dose not need to be modular No RGB needs already have a monitor and peripherals also will need an OS but I for now I'll leave it out of the overall build price budget Also fine with buying used parts
  3. Budget (including currency): 90,000 BDT Country: Bangladesh Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Warzone, Escape from Tarkov, Rainbow Six Siege, Modern Warfare 2, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effect, Adobe Premier Pro etc. I have attached a build here. I want you to take a look at it and suggest me if something needs changes. I'm concerned if the CPU is bottleneck to the GPU. PS. I am on a very very tight budget so I chose just 8GB RAM for now and after a month I'd take an another RAM stick.
  4. Hi, I bought a refurbished HP Pro/EliteDesk 600 G3 SFF from Amazon for 120. Then a RX 550 4G LP for 35. Budget build. ISSUE: The GPU keeps overheating and causing games to crash. I tried adjusting fan settings and it is still happening. Gets to like 92 or 93 Celsius then crashes. Took it apart and thermal paste seemed fine but maybe I could redo that? ANY OTHER TIPS? I know these things have poor airflow but I have seen many videos of dudes online with similar set-ups. Also card only draws 35-40 watts with a max of 50. One small fan. Please give me some options or just tell me this was a failed experiment. Thanks!
  5. I already have a solid modern gaming pc, so this is just for fun. I just wanted to make that clear before I get into it. I recently upgraded my graphics card and now I have a 1660 ti and a 550w psu just sitting around collecting dust. I'd like to slap it in a budget build and put it in my basement. I just found a desktop for sale at a thrift store for $17.50 USD, with 6 gigs of ddr3, a 250 gig HDD, and an i3 2100. I know that's old, but it's $17, so I wouldn't expect much. What I'm wondering is 1: does that sound worth $17 to y'all, and 2: what is the newest cpu I could likely upgrade to with a motherboard that ran sandy bridge out of the box? Am I limited to something like an i7 2700k, could I go up to something like an i7 3960x, or could I go even newer? I obviously don't want to spend a lot upgrading the cpu in this thing, but I'm just wondering what kind of support it's likely to have. Obviously my question will be answered if I just buy the thing and see what motherboard it has, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with pcs of that generation who can chime in before I go back for it in the next couple of days (and hope it's still there). Thanks!
  6. It’s only been 9 months but AMD and Intel have both launched new processor lines. How far will our $500 go if we want to use the latest CPU technology in a new budget gaming PC? 7. Budget (including currency): Rs.8000 Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Media Server Other details: Hi there! I am looking to revive my old PC as a Media Server over LAN. The server will be in use about 15 hours a day. I am confused about storage and power supply. I will be using Jellyfin server on top of Arch Linux. I don't think an NIC is needed as I have 100MbE. Actual Dilemma: I am looking to buy a new PSU as the old one is whining bad and smoking hot. Pls suggest some good n cheap one. I already have an external 2TB HDD. Shall I use the same one connected via USB or buy a new internal hard disk(I prefer at least 4TB). If so then which one? :)
  8. Budget: 1000€ including peripherals and Monitor Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: light gaming (minecraft, genshin impact, small indie games) and software development (programming, debugging, sometimes 3D modeling) Other details: I need a full setup, so not only a PC but also a Monitor, speakers and a decent USB Hub. I already bought the Keyboard, thats why the price is set to 45. Links for HDMI Cables and the USB Hub arent included Hello. Below, i´ve included a PcPartPicker Link/List of my current choice for parts for my first build. I would like for someone to look over it and give input about anything sub-optimal or potential price-cuts. (Yes, its a igpu build. Due to the massive prices for gpus lately, i decided to go with a powerful Ryzen 7 APU) The build will mainly be used for Uni-Work (software dev) and light gaming (minecraft, genshin impact, smaller indie games). Still not very sure about that Monitor and power supply, so if anyone has better ideas than the ones I picked, i´d be happy to get hear some suggestions. Also note, that my choice for the case is not some random rgb case. I need an inverted design and there are only a very small amount of those for whatever reason. So this is the nicest looking somewhat payable case i found. I am mainly worried about the Ryzen 7 5700G not being able to use its full potential due to slow RAM or storage or a sub-optimal motherboard. 12. Budget (including currency): $300-450 CAD (Still Incomplete) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Older racing games such as the mid-2000s Need For Speed titles, and sometimes console emulators Other details: Since my web browsing machine (a 2006 Acer Aspire T180 with upgrades to nearly everything other than the motherboard itself) isn't exactly up to the task of running modern games, or older games, or the last Windows Live Photo Gallery, I set out to build the best computer possible for the least money possible. My dad's friend happened to just have an Asus P67 board (B3) with a 2500K and an EVGA GTX 470 sitting on his kitchen table after finally upgrading his old build, so I took up the chance and scooped them up for free. I then decided to use some of my birthday money I hadn't figured out what to spend on yet, and decided to get the case I've wanted to own since the day I first found out about it, a white Fractal Meshify C (and for only $114 CAD!) Next up on the list are a PSU and SSD, although that'll be done soon when my RM650 and 500GB Samsung 860 Evo arrive. Sorry for taking this picture in portrait view I also decided to put the system into the case this evening so I could get the chance to manage some of the small I/O cables before I'd have to deal with all the larger PSU cables, just to familiarize myself with the Meshify C's cable management features. After peeling off the tempered glass, I went upstairs, leaving the dog alone with it. Whoops.. As it turns out, the microfiber cloth Fractal provides for the tempered glass isn't exactly effective at cleaning off dog slobber marks. One damp cloth later, the panel was back to its original shine. I'll be sure to give more updates as this goes on! NOTE: I did NOT build it on the carpet, it's only there because I wanted to show it to some family members who were visiting earlier Dog slobber and a tempered glass side panel. A match made in my worst nightmares.
  13. Hello, I'm planning to build a budget pc with i3 10105f; h410 motherboard; 16gb of ram and gtx 1070. I'm looking for budget-friendly PSU and stumbled across Deepcool DN500 and Coolermaster MPE-4501-ACABW-BEU. Are they reliable? Which one should I choose, or neither of them? I don't really know much about PSU's.
  14. This is my first time building a pc and idk much.Im from Bangladesh. My budget is around 1300 usd. Here's all the components I might use https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q3Fvgt I'm not sure about the cabinet, motherboard, storage and monitor. And for the gpu I might just buy a 2nd hand 1660 super but 2nd hand deals are always sussy. Also I'm gonna be buying the components locally so they're a bit cheaper also I can ask them to build it for me idk if they'll charge extra for that but I'm sure as hell not building it myself. Another thing should I buy the ryzen 5 5600g? I know it's more expensive (I'll just buy the gpu a bit later) and the i5 11400 gives 5-15+ more fps in certain games but with ryzen I can oc. Then again do I really need to overclock. I'll be doing 1080p video editing, gfx, vfx, coding, cod warzone, some other games etc. I should get a decent performance. If you have some other suggestions please let me know. Don't forget to check the components I chose. H E L P M E
  15. Budget (including currency): 500 USD Country: Costa Rica Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Current gen games, Photoshop and After Effects Other details Hello. My PC (Dell XPS 8700) recently suffered some electrical damage and I lost my motherboard (an Intel z87). Thankfully, it was only the motherboard that was damaged, but being an old Dell made model, currently discontinued, it’s fairly expensive to get a replacement for anything that wouldn’t be better spend on a new board. So I decided to upgrade. Here’s what I got that still works: · - The XPS 8700 case, made for an mATX board as well as its original 460 watts PSU, both of which I’m hoping might work with the new components I’m buying · - A GTX 1050ti (with 2 fans, in case someone was wondering roughly how big it is) that I had on the previous system and thankfully still works · - CD/DVD unit from the XPS and the card reader, which I hope can connect to the new board as well · - A SATA 1TB hard drive used for storage · - Mini SATA 128GB SSD that I plan to format an use as boot drive and I’m hoping to get an M.2 adapter for · - Keyboard, mouse, 2.1 speakers and a 24 inch 1080p LCD monitor. So essentially I would need to buy the motherboard, the CPU and the RAM, as well as an adapter for the SSD and a simple wifi/Bluetooth solution, since I will primarily use LAN. For this, I’ve set a budget of under 500 USD. I live in Costa Rica, but for the sake of the thread, is alright to use USD as point of reference. The components I’ve been eyeing are the following: · - GIGABYTE A520M DS3H mATX: https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-a520m-ds3h/p/N82E16813145241?Description=gigabyte%20a520m%20ds3h&cm_re=gigabyte_a520m%20ds3h-_-13-145-241-_-Product&quicklink=true · - AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core 3.6 GHz: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-3600/p/N82E16819113569?Description=Ryzen%203600&cm_re=Ryzen_3600-_-19-113-569-_-Product&quicklink=true - XPG GAMMIX D20 Desktop Memory: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz: https://www.newegg.com/xpg-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/0RN-00KG-000X5?Description=RAM%20XPG&cm_re=RAM_XPG-_-9SIAJNUDP67095-_-Product This amounts to around 400 USD. In my country it’s a little more expensive, around 480 USD. I decided on an A520m and not a B550m as I don’t plan to overclock the CPU and it’s unlikely that I will ever need any additional heat shielding for the PSU for the kind of budget build I will be able to afford in the future. If I understand correctly, the Ryzen 5 3600 comes with a CPU fan of its own. I wasn’t planning on buying an additional one, but I don’t know if it might be a better idea to invest in one. Additionally, I decided on the 3600 as it roughly matches what I was using before, an i7 4790 (which I unfortunately won’t be able to use at all in spite of it being fine). I will be using this system primarily for gaming and graphics design work, as well as the occasional video editing. I was already doing all of this with 12GBs of RAM at 1666 MHz, so I figured upgrading to 16GBs would be enough, and went for this specific A520m model, as it’s one of the few that I’ve found that has support for 4 sticks of RAM, which means I can safely buy another 2 8GBs later when I’m trying to upgrade. Speaking of upgrading, I’m expecting to buy a Ryzen 5 or 7 from the 5000 series a few years down the road, hence why I went for a 500 AM4 board. I don’t expect any major upgrades in the GPU other than maybe a GTX 1660 Super in about a year, and probably something a bit stronger than that in a couple more years after, because of this I considered PCIe 4.0 support not necessary, but again, I don’t know if this might be a bad idea overall. Additionally, I will at most be using a single 1080p monitor, and don’t really have any intention of playing at anything over 60 fps. I’ve never build my own PC as you folks can probably tell from the fact I had a Dell XPS 8700 before, so I would like to ask if there’s any inherent conflict between any of the parts I’ve mentioned? I would also love to know, if anyone has tried it that is, if I might run into trouble trying to put the new board into the XPS 8700 case? It’s made for a mATX board, and I wasn’t able to find the exact size of the Intel z87 model as everywhere I look it only lists the size as “micro ATX”, but as far as the case goes, it isn’t too spacey but the original motherboard fit just fine, so that’s why I’m concerned. I would also like some information on whether I should buy the M.2 adapter for my old mini SATA SSD, or if I should just buy a new M.2 SSD instead. I was more than happy with the speed that my old SSD had, so I don’t need it to be faster, buy I don’t know anything about these adapters, how to choose them or whether they affect the performance of the SSD, or even if they would produce some conflict when trying to use the attached SSD as a boot drive. I’m also concerned about the wifi/Bluetooth solution. I primarily need the Bluetooth part to connect a controller or sometimes for headphones, so I want something simple but efficient. I’m not sure what type of adapter I should buy then. Lastly, I would love to know if it’s legitimately worth it for me, building a budget PC, to invest on a slightly better motherboard for the sake of PCIe 4.0, overclocking or any other form of futureproofing you folks can think of. I don’t know that it is, but then again I don’t really know all that much about futureproofing a PC build. I’m hoping to keep upgrading it for at least 5 years to a similar budget level as time goes on, and maybe buy an entire new system when this one is at its limits in like 7 or so years. Based on all these information, would it be better to just expand the budget a bit for a B550m? And in that case, which one would be a good match for my build? I think this is all the information you might need, but do let me know if there’s any other info I can give to help you help me, haha.

So this is what i put together so far - MB and SSD especially are not set in stone (neither is the case), I definitley cut some corners there, going to have to ask if 15, 20€ more are ok for a 500GB nvme, maybe downgrade the mb or the case a bit, depending on specific needs. Wanted to check in with you guys first though, to see if there's anything majorly wrong with my provisional list, or if you have any ideas for parts i might have overlooked.
